The aim of this research is to design and implement an automatics multi-scale and audio-dynamic map for an In-Car Route Guidance and Navigation System (RGNS). The design was organized in two stages: general composition and auditory-graphic design. The visual-dynamic maps were designed based on cartographic communication principles and visual perception, especially on the generalization operators. The area of study presents an urban network with different types of roads, nodes, and speed limits. The maps were designed for a small-screen display, and a total of four different scales were employed: 1:10.000, 1:5.000, 1:2.500 and 1:1.000. These scales were chosen according to the media size and type of tactical task. The maps were derived from an accurate cartographic database at scale of 1:1000, by applying generalization techniques, such as simplification, displacement, and enhancement. The audio-dynamic representations were produced by taking account a set of audio-dynamic variables. The voice messages were recorded in a female voice, and they were presented with visual information, simultaneously. The design was implemented in a navigation system, which is available in the Faculty of Sciences and Technology, by using Visual Basic compiler and MapObjects library. The results of comparison between the automatic multiple-scale and single scale system show that the new system, enhanced driver's context, can allow the user receiving information according to the tasks performed along of the route. From the employment of generalization technique it was possible to present in a properly way the amount of information in the display, in which it can contribute for reducing navigational errors and visual demand, when compared with single-scale map ... Previous issue date: 2008-04-22 / Coordena??o de Aperfei?oamento de Pessoal de N?vel Superior / ROTATION is one the most important aspects to be observed in stellar astrophysics. Here we investigate that particularly in stars with planets. This physical parameter supplies information about the distribution of angular momentum in the planetary system, as well as its role on the control of dierent phenomena, including coronal and cromospherical emission and on the ones due of tidal effects. In spite of the continuous solid advances made on the study of the characteristics and properties of planet host stars, the main features of their rotational behavior is are not well established yet. In this context, the present work brings an unprecedented study about the rotation and angular
momentum of planet-harbouring stars, as well as the correlation between rotation and stellar and planetary physical properties. Our analysis is based on a sample of 232 extrasolar planets, orbiting 196 stars of dierent luminosity classes and spectral types. In addition to the study of their rotational behavior, the behavior of the physical properties
of stars and their orbiting planets was also analyzed, including stellar mass and metallicity, as well as the planetary orbital parameters. As main results we can underline that the rotation of stars with planets present two clear features: stars with Tef lower than about 6000 K have slower rotations, while among stars with Tef > 6000 K we and moderate
and fast rotations, though there are a few exceptions. We also show that stars with planets follow mostly the Krafts law, namely < J > / v rot. In this same idea we show
that the rotation versus age relation of stars with planets follows, at least qualitatively, the Skumanich and Pace & Pasquini laws. The relation rotation versus orbital period
also points for a very interesting result, with planet-harbouring stars with shorter orbital periods present rather enhanced rotation / ROTA??O ? um dos importantes aspectos a ser observado na astrof?sica estelar.

Síntese de derivados do megazol, com potencial atividade tripanosomicida / Synthesis of megazol derivatives, with potential trypanocidal activityKarla Teixeira Farias de Novaes 17 October 2005 (has links)
This project aims the synthesis of megazol and some derivatives, with more powerful and better biological activity. Megazol, the chemical structure of interest in this work, was synthesized initially in 1968 for Asato and Berkelhammer using 5-nitroimidazol as a starting material. In years 80, Brazilian researchers of the Oswaldo Cruz Institute Foundation and René Rachou Center, had related a great number of chemical substances active against the Trypanosoma cruzi, illness very common in Brazil One of these substances, the megazol, presented a great interest, as the tests \"in vivo\" in rats showed significant curative effect, in only one dose. As a result of this biological test, more accurate studies of the analogous molecules had become essential, in intention to determine the mechanism of action of this structure and its potential toxic effect. The synthesis route was that described by Albuquerque in 1995, and optimized by Moretto in 2001. In the present work, six derivatives of megazol resulted from the chemical modification from the amine of 1,3,4 thiadiazolic ring. One of these modifications was made by the reaction with anhydrides, chlorides or acids; another one was from the diazotation and substitution by the chlorine atom, and the substitution of chlorine by the methoxy group. The gotten derivatives had been tested in cultures of Vero cells infected with Trypanosoma cruzi and analyzed in relation to the parasite infection index. Until now three compounds presented a higher activity than megazol. The gotten data will be used not only for extend the study of new drugs against the Trypanosoma cruzi, but also for better understanding of the involved chemical processes in the 5-nitroimidazoles intermediate synthesis.

Narativní strategie v románech Maria Vargase Llosy / The narrative strategy in the novels of Mario Vargas LlosaKalvodová, Nela January 2021 (has links)
(in English): The focus of this thesis is on the narrative strategies of Mario Vargas Llosa in two selected novels: Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter (Tía Julia y el escribidor, 1977) and Captain Pantoja and the Special Service (Pantaleón y las visitadoras, 1973). Selection of the books is based on the richness of their formal techniques. In the analysis, the most important aspect is the narrator, the composition of the work and the structural schemes used by the author in his narrative strategy. The stylistic experiments and variations of language based on the type of speaker and genre are also part of the analysis. Vargas Llosa works very well with a wide range of narrative means, trying to capture the inexhaustible diversity of reality and reflect it in the structure of his works. Vargas Llosa's books draw reader's attention to the form, forcing them to reflect and to constantly re- evaluate their interpretation of the text. Construction of the novels is complicated and well elaborated. The reader must be active. The aspect that distinguish Mario Vargas Llosa's work from the rest is the abundant range of narrative techniques and the high level of rationality. Mario Vargas Llosa uses very innovative methods, he experiments with form and the structure of the work. The goal of this thesis is not a...

ON BI-/HOPF ALGEBRAS AND THEIR APPLICATIONS TO RENORMALIZATION PROBLEMS AND OPERADIC ALGEBRASYang Mo (18852994) 24 June 2024 (has links)

In this thesis, we develop an algebraic framework for colored, colored connected, semi-grouplike-flavored, and pathlike co-/bi-/Hopf algebras, which are essential in combinatorics, topology, number theory, and physics. Moreover, we introduce and explore simply colored comonoid, which generalises the notion of colored conilpotent coalgebra. The simply colored structure captures the essence of being connected and give unified treatment of all connected co-/bi-algebras.

As a consequence, we establish precise conditions for the invertibility of characters essential for renormalization in the Connes-Kreimer formulation, supported by examples from these fields. In order to construct antipodes, we discuss formal localization constructions and quantum deformations. These allow to define and explain the appearance of Brown style coactions. We also investigate the relation between pointed coalgebras and color conilpotent coalgebras.

Using these results, we interpret all relevant coalgebras through categorical constructions, linking the bialgebra structures to Feynman categories and applying our developed theory in this context. This comprehensive framework provides a robust foundation for future research in mathematical physics and algebra.

Humor a kritika v díle Pantaleón a jeho ženská rota Maria VargaseLlosy / Humour and critique in Pantaleón y las visitadoras from Mario Vargas LlosaFrimlová, Petra January 2015 (has links)
OF THE THESIS: The novel Captain Pantoja and the Special Service introduces the second period of Mario Vargas Llosa's literary production, which is caracterized by the simplification of the narration and the discovery of humour. The thesis focuses on the formal and thematic analysis of the novel with the objective to prove that despite the novel is in general humorous and parodic, there could be found some constant topics, known to the readers from Llosa's previous novels, which he had always treated very critically, and he also did so in this erotic and humorous work. Therefore, apart from the analysis of humour the thesis also examines the critical approach to the social problems present in the novel. The analysis also shows that the narration is slightly simplified in comparison to the author's formers works, but it still perfectly demonstrates the unconventional narrative techniques, which Vargas Llosa has used since the 1960's, since the period of the new hispano-american novel. KEY WORDS: Mario Vargas Llosa, Captain Pantoja and the Special Service, The Time of the Hero, The Green House, Latin American boom, Hispano-American new novel, total novel, experimental narrative techniques, types of humour and irony, humorous prose, parody, erotic novel, libertine prose, rainforest, criticism of the...
