Repenser la Responsabilité Sociétale des Entreprises à travers une perspective de construction de sens : perceptions de 20 responsables RSE / Rethinking corporate social responsibility through sensemaking perspective : perceptions of 20 CSR managers

Boutiba, Rim 19 December 2014 (has links)
The aim of this research is to identify the contribution of sensemaking theory to the study of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Therefore, we propose to bring out the meaning that actors attribute to socially responsible actions. For that matter, we seek to highlight the variety of sensemaking process that can lead to a variety of CSR representations. Our qualitative study consists in exploring in depth the sensemaking process of CSR. We have used crossing methodological perspectives: a lexical analysis, a thematic content analysis and finally a cognitive maps analysis. The results suggest four classes of discourse on CSR: responsibility to stakeholders (SK) and stakeholder mapping; moral and ethical behavior; sustainable development, certification and reporting; framing and implementing the approach. These results show the need to consider five dimensions of the sensemaking process of CSR: triggers, enactment process, selection process, communication process and adaptation process. From this study appear also five perceptions’ types of the sensemaking process of CSR: the global managers’ perception, the perception of public enterprises and organizations managers, the perception of Tunisian enterprises and organizations belonging to the ISO 26000 promotion program managers, the perception of private multinationals managers, and the perception of the manager of the Global Compact principles program.

Oliveira, Rafael Mello January 2016 (has links)
Does national culture influence the decision-making process? What are the assumptions of decision-making? What is the relationship between the decision maker´s national culture, his personal constructs, his sensemaking and his actual decision? This study aimed to develop an argument about this issue, creating a model that integrates concepts of national culture, the personal constructs theory, and the sensemaking theory. This analysis model was then applied to Brazilian university students of German, Italian and Iberian origins (ancestry) in the state of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil). Two structured questionnaires were applied as well as a quasi-experiment to get to the results. Approximately 700 people participated in the survey in 6 cities. The data were then analyzed using content analysis (for open questions), and statistical techniques such as correlation, regression and factor analysis for the closed questions. The relationship between national culture, personal constructs, sensemaking and decision-making was evidenced in part. It was observed that personal constructs varied according to the origin of the respondents, but the difference between Italian, German and Iberian cultures was not significant for the individual decision, not influencing in a different way the decision-making and the sensemaking. There was however, an important difference between individual and organizational decision, showing the influence of cultural origin (ancestry) in the organizational decision making process regarding the perception of quality, without changing the order of importance of the decision attributes (personal constructs). These results are useful to understand the decision-making process, highlighting the emergence of a (general) regional culture, stronger than the influence of countries of origin (ancestry).

How Discourses Cast Airport Security Characters: A Discourse Tracing and Qualitative Analysis of Identity and Emotional Performances

January 2013 (has links)
abstract: Since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and subsequent creation of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), airport security has become an increasingly invasive, cumbersome, and expensive process. Fraught with tension and discomfort, "airport security" is a dirty phrase in the popular imagination, synonymous with long lines, unimpressive employees, and indignity. In fact, the TSA and its employees have featured as topic and punch line of news and popular culture stories. This image complicates the TSA's mission to ensure the nation's air travel safety and the ways that its officers interact with passengers. Every day, nearly two million people fly domestically in the United States. Each passenger must interact with many of the approximately 50,000 agents in airports. How employees and travelers make sense of interactions in airport security contexts can have significant implications for individual wellbeing, personal and professional relationships, and organizational policies and practices. Furthermore, the meaning making of travelers and employees is complexly connected to broad social discourses and issues of identity. In this study, I focus on the communication implications of identity and emotional performances in airport security in light of discourses at macro, meso, and micro levels. Using discourse tracing (LeGreco & Tracy, 2009), I construct the historical and discursive landscape of airport security, and via participant observation and various types of interviews, demonstrate how officers and passengers develop and perform identity, and the resulting interactional consequences. My analysis suggests that passengers and Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) perform three main types of identities in airport security contexts--what I call Stereotypical, Ideal, and Mindful--which reflect different types and levels of discourse. Identity performances are intricately related to emotional processes and occur dynamically, in relation to the identity and emotional performances of others. Theoretical implications direct attention to the ways that identity and emotional performances structure interactions, cause burdensome emotion management, and present organizational actors with tension, contradiction, and paradox to manage. Practical implications suggest consideration of passenger and TSO emotional wellbeing, policy framing, passenger agency, and preferred identities. Methodologically, this dissertation offers insight into discourse tracing and challenges of embodied "undercover" research in public spaces. / Dissertation/Thesis / Ph.D. Communication Studies 2013

[en] THE INTRODUCTION OF METAVERSES IN TEACHING: SENSEMAKING OF VIRTUAL WORLDS IN THE CONTEXT OF HIGHER EDUCATION / [pt] A INTRODUÇÃO DE METAVERSOS NO PROCESSO DE ENSINO: FAZENDO SENTIDO DE MUNDOS VIRTUAIS NO CONTEXTO ORGANIZACIONAL DO ENSINO SUPERIOR

TATIANA MARIA BERNARDO DA SILVA 22 November 2012 (has links)
[en] The creation of the World Wide Web (WWW) in 1992 enabled the emergence of new educational proposals and made on-line education more accessible on-line. The facility of use of the Web and the ability to present multimedia tools increased the number of courses that could be offered on-line. Computers and information technology expanded opportunities in education and opened the way for the use of new educational methods. This technological change requires a change in the role played by the teacher, however, the introduction of these technologies in the learning environment cause disturbance in the status quo, leading the individual to have to reconfigure themselves and their perception of the world that is around them too. He needs to rearrange his world in order that it makes sense to him again, through the process of sensemaking (WEICK, 1995; WEICK, SUTCLIFFE AND OBSTFELD, 2005) individuals reorganize their world. Sensemaking can be understood as the interpretation that the person does about an event that generated a disorder in that world is accustomed, awakening a reorganization of meanings to understand the new environment in order that it makes sense for him. The objective of this study is to understand how the introduction and use of metaverses for teaching affect the learning environment which academics are accustomed and how they reinterpret and rearrange their world. The metaverse Second Life was chosen because of the fact that it is the metaverse most widespread in the world (ANDREAS, TSITASOS, TERSIDOU AND POMPORTSIS, 2010) and by some universities adopt this to teaching (DE LUCIA, FRANCESE, PASSERO AND TORTORA, 2009). We opted for a qualitative method with conduction in-depth interviews done with professors of higher education institution in South Region of Brazil. Their opinions and views were collected and evaluated by means of discourse analysis, as published in the paper of Nicolaci-da-Costa (2007). The results contribute to a deeper understanding of specific issues regarding the use of metaverses by professors, while at the same time point possible factors that may facilitate the integration of technology into the environment.

An Exploration of the Changing Role of Principal Supervisors

Bennett, Mia H 12 1900 (has links)
Existing literature provides newly identified responsibilities of the principal supervisor but lacks in information about how districts should strategically spearhead the process of initiating, implementing, and managing the changes to the role of the supervisor. In this study, I examined the behaviors and actions of one school district's executive-level leaders as they shifted the position of the principal supervisor. Findings could contribute to a new area of research in how district leaders may navigate and manage the complicated process of initiating and managing the changes to the principal supervisor's role.

Meningsskapande hos anställda efter en organisationsförändring

Borell, Amalia, Winlund, Johanna January 2021 (has links)

Jansson, Tamara, Norling, Amanda January 2022 (has links)
As less research has focused on collective sensemaking in cross-functional teams, this study aims to shed further light on the complexity that it entails insituations of collaboration. Therefore, a deeper understanding will be developed of the aspects that influence a collective sensemaking.' This is a qualitative study with an abductive approach. The empirical data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analysed in narrative form. The study is of an interpretivist nature. Expertise; Unjustified belonging; Intersections; Own understandings; Compromise; Horizontal communication; Communication forum; Clear purpose; Knowing ‘enough’, turned out to be aspects that can affect the ability for collective sensemaking. All aspects give further need for a more adaptive sensegiving.
