Estratégias de gestão para a promoção do acesso à justiça a pessoas idosas em situação de rua em centros de acolhida do município de São Paulo / Management strategies for the promotion of access to justice for the elderly in street situations in shelters in the city of São PauloSabrina Almeida da Silva 11 June 2018 (has links)
Porém, é preciso capacitar e conscientizar os profissionais acerca da importância de preenchimento detalhado dessas informações / Considering the increase of homeless elderly, the city hall of São Paulo has created many Special Elderly Homeless Shelters, in order to accommodate and ensure full protection to these individuals. This population is very heterogeneous, and its demands are diversified, including legal guidance and advocacy. The present exploratory, qualitative and quantitative study aimed to investigate the existence of management strategies in shelters for the elderly in the street to promote access to justice for their users. The survey was implemented through non-directive interviews with a convenience sample of 47 residents and four managers or members of the equip of four Special Elderly Homeless Shelters in São Paulo. It was observed that although a portion of the elderly claim to have lawsuits in progress, and largely report the need for legal assistance, access to information does not occur in a sufficient way, since many are unaware of the possibilities of free care. The professionals of the Special Elderly Homeless Shelters report few strategies to promote access to justice, acting more passively, depending on the initiative of the users themselves. The few strategies seem restricted to micro case management, lacking meso and macro management strategies to increase rights education. In the systems of information and monitoring of the services, there are fields for the insertion of data on legal questions. However, professionals must be trained and made aware of the importance of completing this information in detail

On the development and maintenance of a social wasp colony, need to search and use environmental resources, as the water, used in the control of the temperature; vegetable fiber, utilized on the construction and repair of cells and comb; carbohydrate to feeding larvae and adults, obtained mainly in nectary and fruits; and animal protein, used to feeding larvae, proceeding, most of the time, to predation of caterpillar. On this way, the study of the forage schedule, material foraged and to transfers colonies to other areas, using the species Polistes versicolor as test, objectives of this study, can evidence characteristics of the species that reveal its potential in programs that aiming its use as agent control of eucalyptus plagues. On the period of January to December of 2007, were accomplished 24 observations of the P. versicolor foraging activity colonies were present in an eucaliptal, on the municipal district of Juiz de Fora, MINAS GERAIS, totalizing 240 hours. During 10 hours were registered, to every 30 minutes, intensity light, wind speed, air humidity and temperature on the colony proximities; also were registered and qualified, the workers' returns according to methodology proposal for Prezoto et al. (1994). On the same period, were transferred 20 P. versicolor colonies, in post-emergency, retreats of human constructions and transferred for artificial shelters installed in eucalyptus plantation. The P. versicolor foraging activity began about the seven hours and thirty minutes and it extended even 18 hours. The workers average of departures/hour were 9.62 ±16.67 (0-84) with a total of 1792 on 240 hours observation, and returns/hour 9.76 ±18.14 (0-87) with a total of 1809 on the observation hours. The colonies activity pick happened on the period understood between the 10 hours and even 15 hours. The Spearman correlation test revealed that the P. versicolor workers exits were stimulated by the increase of the light intensity and air temperature; and decrease of the humidity. The multivariate linear regression analysis showed that air temperature is the variable that most influence on the P. versicolor foraging activity. On this work was registered 1809 returns, being 51.63% were with nectar; 6.85% water; 4.7% vegetable fiber; 19.40% unproductive and 17.41% with preys. P. versicolor workers preying exclusively caterpillars, being this only animal protein offered to the immature ones that were developed in the colony. The 20 P. versicolor colonies used in the work was collected and transferred with 85% of success, due to the fact of after the establishment of the colony in the artificial shelter, the individuals stayed in the nest. The present study revealed that P. versicolor offered characteristics that make possible its use in programs of handling integrated plagues using wasps as agents of biological control.

Arqueologia dos Abrigos Cera, Aquidauana, MS: cultura material e inserção na paisagem / Archaeology of shelters Cera, Aquidauana, MS: material culture and landscapeMaria Bernadete Póvoa 20 August 2007 (has links)
This thesis presents archaeological records from two art rock shelters, commonly named as "Cera Rock shelters", both settled in the southern border of the Paraná Residual Plateau, southwestern Mato Grosso do Sul State. It is the first systematic excavation in this area. There is a TL data obtained from a potsherd collected in Aquidauana IVA: 690 +/-80 years BP. This research do a detailed archeography of the archaeological record recollected during excavations in the rock shelters and indicates the first instance to model the rockshekters in the landscape. In this way, the thesis reveals how these settlements in the landscape may be approached by symbolic choices and representations painted and drawn in sectors of these sites. These symbolic choices are part of the social identity integrated into the landscape, revealed by the material culture.

The aim of the study was to seek further understanding of what school staff, social services and staff at the shelters consider to be the difficulties in the work of children's schooling when staying at shelters for abused women. The method used was qualitative semi structured interviews and the empirics consist of six interviews, two from each profession. Despite a comprehensive searching strategy, only a few studies were found that had examined the subject and those studies described the problem briefly. This indicates that the subject has been little researched and that children's schooling in shelters for abused women is a subject we have little knowledge about. The results show that there usually are no systematic routines for dealing with the issue among professionals involved. It is difficult to get a new school place for children staying in shelters for abused women. Professions involved with these children in society need more knowledge in the subject to develop a systematic approach. In future, more research on the subject and its consequences for children in shelters for abused women is needed.

An examination of physical and non-physical abuse as correlates of depression and self-esteem in battered womenMiskofski, Patricia Ann 01 January 2001 (has links)
In light of the existing literature and research conducted in the area of domestic violence, several recurrent symptoms continue to surface as a result of both physical and non-physical abuse. Two of the most prevalent psychological symptoms requiring intervention tend to be depression and low self-esteem. Therefore, it is the intention of this study to empirically examine the type of abuse female victims of domestic violence experience and its link to their psychological distress. Specifically, it is hypothesized that victims of non-physical abuse will be more likely to experience low self-esteem than depression. Victims of physical abuse will have a greater prevalence of depression than low self-esteem.

Bombing and Air Defense in China, 1932–1941: War, Politics, ArchitectureThompson III, John Buchman January 2022 (has links)
This dissertation traces the emergence of the air raid shelter as the paradigmatic architecture of air defense under the Nationalist Party government in China during the War of Resistance against Japan (1937–1945). More broadly, it explores how air defense in general became an integral technology for the Nationalists’ “war of resistance and reconstruction” (kangzhan jianguo), a fascist project derived from total war, the globally circulating military-political idea that modern wars would enlist the entire populations and economies of nations in warfare while subjecting national populations and infrastructures to equally comprehensive violence.
The Nationalists joined the world in confronting aerial bombing after the Empire of Japan bombed Shanghai in 1932. In response, the government and its military constructed air defense, a political and technological complex combining mass mobilization, through air raid drills and air defense organizations, with material technologies, like searchlights, anti-aircraft guns, and bomb shelters. The Nationalists found in air defense more than a military technology. To them, it also offered a set of tools and resources for fortifying their flailing attempts to unite China in a common national project, and even recasting the substance of that project. Air defense could forge a new society that invested all Chinese people in war as a necessary precondition for overcoming China’s colonial subjection. Where democratic institutions collapsed and appeals to common heritage and customs failed, the Nationalists used air defense to turn survival (shengcun) into the bedrock value of the national community.
Meanwhile, a group of young architects associated with the journal Xin jianzhu in Canton identified air defense as an organizing problem for the nascent professional field of architecture. Rather than the stale historicism endorsed in Nanjing, and against China’s craft building traditions, the group championed modernist architecture, especially the International Style, whose principles of simplicity, functionalism, and rationality they saw as necessary for building modern, industrial, and hygienic Chinese cities capable of enhancing human life. Moreover, they argued that the technological instrumentality informing modernism made it the only style capable of preserving Chinese cities and people from modern threats like bombing. After the fall of Canton in 1938, members of the group took their mission to Chongqing, where they joined the Nationalist government in building air defenses in the wartime capital.
In particular, this dissertation argues that the air raid shelter and air defense focused contradictions in the Nationalists’ fascist project for uniting and revolutionizing China as it traveled to Chongqing following the Nationalist escape from Japan’s invasion of the coast. Over the course of the War of Resistance, the principal technology of air defense shifted away from mass mobilization, as the Nationalists came to administer refugees and displaced people they had never governed before, and became located in infrastructure like city plans and air raid shelters. Air defense served to exclude surplus populations like women and the elderly, rendered redundant according to the state’s wartime needs for industrial production and conscripts, by dispersing them in satellite settlements outside the city, from which they constantly returned in search of work or material goods. Shoddy air raid shelters, in the meantime, revealed the fragile biology of real bodies beneath the fascist fantasy of the heroic political subject, as shelters failed to provide for basic needs like respiration. Over time, these two problems collided, as the state closed shelters in the city to dispersed people, exposing surplus populations to bombing, while civilians also languished in shelters that could still kill them. The goal of building national unity through survival collapsed into a confusion of inclusion and exclusion, life and death, with disastrous results, like the asphyxiation of around one thousand people in Chongqing’s largest public air raid shelter in June 1941. In these circumstances, professionals like the Cantonese architects and new state regulatory bodies produced proposals and standards for building better shelters, offering a technological resolution of air defense’s political contradictions and consolidating the transformation of air defense into a technical expertise.
