Facilitating innovative youth encounters for well-being and healing

Solomons., William Samuel 06 1900 (has links)
This research is based on a youth intervention organisation founded by the researcher in 1997. The organisation (Agape Copeland Train) is located in the Northern Cape. Youths’ contexts in the Northern Cape are fraught with psychological, social and relational problems, including violence, alcoholism, teenage pregnancies, depression, crime, poverty, and curtailed future prospects. An exploratory enquiry, informed by ecological and positive psychology, is undertaken. In particular, this research focuses on the (often neglected) perspectives of facilitators who work with youth. Exploration of how facilitators’ well-‐being is impacted on whilst serving youth in this challenging context is undertaken. Interviews with facilitators yielded themes of positive transformation, including shifts in mindsets and positive affect. In addition, aspects of the organisation’s development, as relevant to the context of the research, are described and a model of youth facilitation This research is based on a youth intervention organisation founded by the researcher in 1997. Medikų Vadovų Požiūris Į Socialinio Pacientų Sveikatos Aspekto Užtikrinimą Sveikatos Priežiūros Įstaigose / Approach Of Heads Of Medic To The Ensuring Of The Social Aspect Of Patient's Health In Health Care Facilities

Korkut, Irina 21 June 2010 (has links)
In order to normalize or adjust the strain, or at least maintain it’s present level, that employees could provide quality services, it requires a clear division of job, knowledge of who does what and applying it in practice. Speaking about social aspect of health – it is probably the only area, which is cared by almost all workers , communicating with patients. However, ensuring the social dimension of health the most competent is a social worker. Doctors and nurses shouldn’t carry out his work. Sometimes these workers have no choice, because their section doesn’t have the right specialist. It is necessary for accurate labor organization, which depends on the health care manager, as well as department heads, which may affect the number of employees and their qualifications at their department. On the other hand, good organization is not enough, it requires mutual agreement and the habit of doing only their own job and “a pass” for social worker, to perform his duties and to ensure the social ascept of health, is needful. Aim of the study is to evaluate the medical head‘s approach to the social aspect of ensuring the health of patients. Objectives: 1. Set the medical managers role in ensuring patients' social aspect of health. 2. View the ways, how social aspect of patients health is ensured. 3. Value... [to full text]

Moraes, José Carlos Sturza de January 2016 (has links)
With the purpose of reflecting on the issue of care with regard to guardianship and the assurance of human rights from actions carried out by the Guardianship Council, this survey was made up by journalistic accounts of cases on which councilors have worked, brought in as analytical triggers, from a theoretical production based on the mapping field, using case-thinking as a working method. Studies and surveys using data on Guardianship Councils and/or councilors were also used as viewing sources for this protective entity, as well as other academic and militant productions, with the purpose of benefiting-enriching dialogs during this path. In the texts, intricate relationships were found between several entities from the System for the Assurance of Human Rights for Children and Adolescents (SGDHCA), created and governed by laws and other regulations, and by people congregating, and these relationships say a lot about the existence of built and rebuilt networks for the intervention of the State in the family unit, especially poor families, in contemporary Brazil. Contexts that were also explored from the concept of governance of children (and adolescents), reflecting on the possibility of actions from these right-holders themselves, built on a discourse and legal basis according to the text of the Child and Adolescent Statute, starting from the practice scenarios that have been compared.

The interface between politics and administration in the Limpopo Department of Education

Mogashoa, M. W. January 2006 (has links)
Thesis (MPA) --University of Limpopo, 2006 / The study conducted was based on the political and administrative interface in the Department of Education in Limpopo. This provincial Department has experienced challenges that originated from the offices of both the Executive Authority and the Accounting officer. This grey area in the Department had almost paralysed the whole system and it became imperative that it be studied in an attempt to find possible solutions. An extensive scientific body of knowledge from different scholars and their findings contributed to a new direction recommended for consideration. The findings presented have the capacity to hamstring any organisation. The findings reveal, among others, that: the complementary bureaucratic model is threatened by time, and its challenges are enormous; there is little knowledge among politicians and administrators regarding interface matters; administrators do not have a global picture regarding the result of unethical conduct; more research on interface matters needs to be done and results published for the public to be educated while politicians and administrators should be continuously trained; the fluidity of the interface needs continuous focus to avoid plunging the department into an untenable situation.

Direitos humanos e teatro do oprimido [manuscrito] : uma aproximação dialógica

Sousa, Rogério Newton de Carvalho 11 April 2011 (has links)

No. of bitstreams: 1 arquivototal.pdf: 948845 bytes, checksum: 08dc2e0345d1bc56544d8369e2a0ad83 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2011-04-11 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This research shows the thread of Ariadne which links human rights and the theater of the Oppressed. It chooses to place them in the world of life using the tragedies of the century of Pericles and the Law visions of Flores, Bobbi ,Ost and Dworki , in search of the political dimension of human experience and the political and social character of the judicial phenomenon. The human rights are presented in the historical context of modernity in connection with the enlightenment thought. Pursuing the contagion between the Law and the historical aspects of individual and collective experiences, one of the main theoretical axes is a critical and realist theory of the human rights of Flores. Starting with Boal s assertion that every theater is political, and that a citizen is not only the one who lives in society, but the one who transforms it, this study visits its critical revision of the Western theater from Aristotle to Brecht as a reflexive base for identifying the main political and cultural ideas that guided the creation of the Oppressed Aesthetics : Impure Ganga - the theater of the Oppressed is inserted in the historical context that presided its genesis, evidencing the political engagement of the left side. The influences about the pedagogical character are captured in authors such as Marx, Freire and Brecht. Originated in the society, human rights and the theater of the oppressed are attracted to each other but by the critical capacity of the theater and literature, they also repel each other under the sign of non acceptance . The dialogue between both elects the political aspect as theme and counter hegemonic theory and practice. It presents the plurality of routes as methodological place in which the distinctive conception of human dignity and rights are legitimate. This fact points to a joint authorship instead of an exclusive affiliation to the Western modernity. The art is taken as a measuring criterion of axiological progress or retrocess. The a priori universalism of the Universal human rights declaration is questioned through the perspective that such rights are historical constructed and not given artifacts. Resistance to oppression, political participation and democratic transitivity are common characteristics of human rights and of the theater of the Oppressed. The idea of revolution is revisited under the counter -hegemonic prism in the visions of Flores and in the joint revolution of Morin. A society without the oppressed and the oppressors and an ethical horizon are very dear characteristics to the human rights and to the theater of the oppressed evidencing the responsibility as the ethics by excellence of both.
