Andersson, Michael January 2010 (has links)

Henriksen, Svein January 2009 (has links)
<p>The aim of this study is to find out if teambuilding is a good tool to mobilize a project group to increase cooperation and work performance in the team. The master report is a descriptive study of how I planned, prepared and launched a teambuilding program for a project group in a South-Swedish municipality. The team members were hasty put together to launch a public polyclinic treatment program for drug addicts. The project team had less than one year to show good result of its work to get the project granted permanent founding from the municipality. But good cooperation among team members does not occur by itself. After a short time the project manager felt that the project group did not function like it should. I then started my work collected data from the group through interviews, meetings, observations, and questionnaires. My theoretical framework is among others the FIRO-theory, Team Role Inventory and theory X and Y. To be able to measure the effectiveness of the teambuilding I took the use of an individually written questionnaire to measure the situation in the team at one of my early meetings with the team and then again after the teambuilding. The result of my studies did not give a clear answer to the question; if team building is a good tool for mobilizing a project group to increased cooperation and work performance. The survey response on the follow up questionnaire after the teambuilding had too many non-response questions. That makes this study reliability weakened. On the other hand I will state that the development of the group through the teambuilding have shown some positive effects when it comes to cooperation between team members and between team members and team leader. On the other side the collected data also show that some of the project group’s positive advantages were weaken after the teambuilding. I have therefore not been able to verify my hypotheses that team building is a good tool to mobilize a project group to increase cooperation and work performance.</p>

Nursing Students And Tuckman's Theory: Building Community Using Cohort Development

Austin, George 01 January 2013 (has links)
This study explored the phenomenon of first year students who lived in a nursing living learning community and their experiences during their first year. The researcher utilized a qualitative research methodology to investigate the social and academic aspects that influenced these students as they worked to prepare to apply to the nursing program on their way to becoming nurses. Of the 68 students who lived in the community in the first two years, 12 were interviewed in a face-to-face setting. The researcher used Tuckman’s Stages of Group Development as the framework for this study, recognizing that groups go through several stages depending on the length of time that the group is together. The participants’ experiences were examined on a group and individual level, in order to fully understand their experiences in the community, including their persistence through applying to and enrolling in the nursing program. This study brought voice to the experiences of the students, helping to understand why they came together, how the community developed, and what lessons the students took away from living in this community. It was made clear during the interviews that the students chose to live in the community where they would be surrounded by students with the same goals. They also felt very strongly about academics taking a priority over social events, and believed that the community should have a second semester common course to keep the students working together throughout the duration of the first year.

Teamarbete hos två tryckerier

Grundström, Johanna January 2010 (has links)
Teamwork at two print worksDuring the last 20 years teamwork has become more frequent, not at least since working in projects is increasing. The project form also means that work in changing and temporary constellations occurrs and there by does flexibility and quick adjustments in groups become an ability to compete. Because of this the needs of teambuilding and team development increase. (Sjøvold, 2008, s 10)The aim of this report is to study a couple of companies in the graphic business’ view of their teamwork and teambuilding through a questionnaire study, and analyze the result with teambuilding theories. The result of the questionnaire study has given an overlook of how the employees of the print works experience their teamwork with emphasis on goal and strategies, structure and responsibility, social climate and communication.Through a questionnaire study like the accomplished, one can gain indications of which part of the teamwork the team members themselves feel are insufficient and it can there by work very well as a tool for identifying problems as well as a development tool.
