Utveckling av stol för café och lunchrum / Development of a chair for café and lunch room

Amarante Teixeira de Freitas, Carina, Jarlsson, Ylva January 2007 (has links)

This is a dissertation for a Bachelor Degree Project at the University of Skövde. The project is carried out in cooperation with the company Kinnarps AB.

The objective of this project was to develop a new chair for café and lunch rooms, which should satisfy the markets expectations and demands and match Kinnarps AB’s assortment today. The project has contained everything from identification of user and customer needs and requirements to evaluation and building of a prototype.

The result is a chair with a frame of tubular steel and there is nothing like it in Kinnarps AB’s assortment today. The chair has a frame of tubular steel and separate seat and backrest, just like the chairs Jig and Tango as it is intended to replace. The chair’s extraordinary characteristics are that the shape of the backrest enables a good grip and the motion which encourages variation in sitting postures. The motion is new for this kind of chair both in Kinnarps AB’s assortment as well as on the market.

The product development process is an iterative process which can be described with the activities: identification of customer requirements, product design specification, initiation of concept solutions, evaluation, embodiment design and detail design. Knowledge about the customer requirements and needs is fundamental to a successful product. The result of the market research showed that the new chair should be a comfortable and inviting chair which is lightweight and simple with a timeless design and organic shape. It also came to our knowledge that it is very important that the chair is stackable, possible to hang on a table and linkable.

Different researchers’ literatures have been studied and an analysis has been made in SAMMIE to ensure that the chair has good ergonomics. This is a very important quality but often an unspoken requirement that is taken for granted.

The result was carefully evaluated during and after the building of the prototype. Kinnarps AB will also make further analysis and quality tests.

This project has hopefully resulted in a chair with good quality and a potential to participate in the competition on the market.
/

Attractive Work : Nurses´ work in operating departments, and factors that make it attractive

Björn, Catrine January 2016 (has links)
Background: Previous studies show that nurse retention is one of the most effective strategies to counteract nursing shortages. Few studies have focused on the crucial resource of registered specialist nurses in operating departments. Aim: The overall aim of this thesis was to gain knowledge on registered specialist nurses’ and assistant nurses’ work in operating departments and on what factors they consider to be important for attractive work. Methods: In Study I, operating room nurses were interviewed regarding their perspective on their work. In Studies II and III, specialist registered nurses and assistant nurses at operating departments in a Swedish county council responded to the Attractive Work Questionnaire. Study IV is a case study with interviews, a review of organisational goal documents and data concerning the number of planned, acute and cancelled operations. Findings: The adaption of the Attractive Work Questionnaire for nurses in operating departments was satisfying. The most important factors for attractive work were: Relationship, Leadership and Status. The factors with the largest discrepancies between their important to work attractiveness and their rating at the nurses’ current work were: Salary, Organisation and Physical Work Environment. It was important for nurses to be able to prepare for and be in control of the different work tasks. However, the daily operating schedule guided the nurses’ work, and changes in the schedule, nurse shortages and the design of the premises constituted obstacles to their work. Conclusion: The Attractive Work Questionnaire provided specific information to management on what to focus on to make work attractive. The majority of the identified attractive factors are already known to be of importance in nurse retention; however, factors requiring more investigation are Equipment, Physical Work Environment and Location (of the workplace). Their work prerequisites did not enable the specialist and assistant nurses to reach what they saw as their daily goals. Regularly occurring activities, such as acute and cancelled operations, were interpreted as obstacles to reaching daily goals.

Klemets, Emma January 2016 (has links)
This is a thesis in Information Design with focus on spatial design. I have done a study about how spatial elements in a room can facilitate the orientation towards a landmark in a waiting room. The work has been done in the waiting room of Clinical Physiology department at Mälarsjukhuset in Eskilstuna. After early observations in the waiting room I could see that patients and visitors didn’t understand that they would orient themselves to the check-in terminal in the waiting room. That observation led me to do the thesis in that room. The aim of the work has been to find out how you can facilitate orientation toward a landmark in the waiting room of Clinical Physiology Department. The end result has emerged from the empirical data of the methods and literature studies. The methods used in the study were observations, interviews and a room analysis. The results of the studies has led to a design proposal in 3D software Sketch-Up. The proposal shows how the waiting room could be changed to increase orientation.

Caring More About EQ Than IQ : Automatic Equalizing of Audio Signals

Axelson-Fisk, Magnus January 2018 (has links)
In this bachelor thesis, the possiblity to correct for room acousticsbased on frequency analysis is studied. A software to calculate transferfunctions online was constructed and tested. This was done using a ver-sion of the Maximum Length Sequence method, which is a method thatrequires long sequences for rooms with long reverberation. During theproject, it was noted that zero padding the sequences improved the ac-curacy greatly, it was also noted that the length of the zero pad aectedthe results. The software was tested both in computer simulations andin practice. While testing in practice, it was noted that the system haslimitations on which rooms it would work in. All testsignals were recordedand afterwards, compared to the original recording. The constructed soft-ware showed, that it is possible to correct for unknown transfer functionsusing only frequency analysis, to some extent. Further, it does correct forthe room's transfer function, but it is dicult to say if it this is valid forall rooms and transfer functions.

Fróes, Marco Antonio de Melo January 2015 (has links)
This research aimed to understand how the Educational Service Specialist / Integration Room and Visual Resources collaborates in the schooling process of visually impaired people. The analysis favored potential existing links between specialized education with mainstream education. The issues that prompted the authors of this study were: how to perform tasks for students with visual impairment in a curriculum that values the writing over other forms of learning? As has been done the work of the Integration and Resource Room - SIR Visual, within the Municipal School of Porto Alegre? The empirical research took place in a school of the Municipal System of Porto Alegre Education, which has prioritized the school inclusion policies for the Educational Service Specialist, considering the way that this service was being held over the years, identifying aspects from reflections of systems thinking of Gregory Bateson and cultural-historical theory of Lev Vygotsky. The research opted for a qualitative approach using the following methodological tools: semi-structured interviews, participant observation and the field diary. Data analysis found the importance of specialized educational services, specifically the Integration and Resource Room - Visual in the process of school inclusion of students with visual impairment, guiding, supervising and providing an adequate job to the needs of parents, students, and especially , the teacher of the regular classroom. It was also demonstrated the difficulty of communication between the coordinating teachers of the Integration and Resource Room with teachers from the regular classroom.
