Onomastiese studie van skoolname by Afrikaansmediumskole

Marx, Isabella Elizabeth 11 1900 (has links)
In this dissertation, names of schools as a subdivision of Onomastics are dealt with. School names are researched mainly under the cloak of Semantics and Socio-linguistics. Therefore, terms like reference, convention and a backing of descriptions are referred to according to the theories of Devitt, Strawson and Kripke. Van Langendonck specifically emphasises the pragmatic nature of proper nouns in his theory the paradox of the meaning of proper nouns which is an important point of departure in the conceptual and pragmatic nature of the names of schools. The underlying motives in respect of school naming are categorized and discussed according to the motives of origin. Conflicting social factors play an important role in the naming of schools and therefore names also change. These changes are accentuated and discussed. The possibility for a country to reflect a national identity in spite of a multicultural and multilingual society, is explored and discussed. / Afrikaans and Theory of Literature / M.A. (Afrikaans)

Measuring the Transition toward Less Energy Intensive Economies : modeling Solutions for the Demand-Side / Mesurer la transition vers des économies moins intensives en énergie : enjeux méthodologiques et modélisation de la demande

Atallah, Tarek 26 October 2016 (has links)
Rapidly evolving regulatory and macro-economic environments heavily impact on the demand-side of energy, forcing governments to acquire an ever-increasing set of quantitative tools to better assess the results of their taxation policies. This thesis addresses some of these issues by analyzing various facets of energy demand in order to generate sensible demand and price elasticities with real-life applications in sustainable energy management. For that purpose, a combination of cluster, decomposition and multiple econometric analysis is undertaken at global, regional and country-specific levels for households complemented by a policy analysis. A special focus is made on modeling consumer demand behavior for resource-rich economies of the Gulf Cooperation Countries, and the potential impact of removing residential electricity subsidies on the net societal welfare of Saudi Arabia.

Základní škola / Primary School

Forman, Daniel January 2013 (has links)
Thesis Theme is a primary school, namely the outbuilding primary school Havlíčkův Brod, Konečná 1884. I suggest first grade pavilion and pavilion with school canteen with kitchens. Pavilions are based on the footings. Pavilions are designed as a two-way system from the wall HELUZ. Construction of ceiling are from ferroconcrete slabs are cross reinforced, single-layer roof is flat with a classic sequence of layers. In addition to construction and process layout I solved also the statics of building in specialize of concrete structures. The following are also evaluated heat and acoustic requirements and requirements for fire safety of buildings. New pavilions are solved as wheelchair accessible. Pavilion of the first grade has two floors with 5 classes of stem, 1 vocational and 2 classes are earmarked for after-school clubs. This pavilion is connected to the connecting neck between the former pavilon A and pavilion B. Dining pavilion has one floor, which is divided in the school canteen and kitchen is connected to the connecting neck leading to the gym. The land is mildly sloping to the south side. All consstructions comply with the applicable standards and recommendations ČSN.

Selective legal aspects of bank demand guarantees

Kelly-Louw, Michelle 31 October 2008 (has links)
Bank demand guarantees have become an established part of international trade. Demand guarantees, standby letters of credit and commercial letters of credit are all treated as autonomous contracts whose operation will not be interfered with by courts on grounds immaterial to the guarantee or credit itself. The idea in the documentary credit transaction/demand guarantee transaction is that if the documents (where applicable) presented are in line with the terms of the credit/guarantee the bank has to pay, and if the documents do not correspond to the requirements, the bank must not pay. However, over the years a limited number of exceptions to the autonomy principle of demand guarantees and letters of credit have come to be acknowledged and accepted in practice. In certain circumstances, the autonomy of demand guarantees and letters of credit may be ignored by the bank and regard may be had to the terms and conditions of the underlying contract. The main exceptions concern fraud and illegality in the underlying contract. In this thesis a great deal of consideration has been given to fraud and illegality as possible grounds on which payment under demand guarantees and letters of credit have been attacked (and sometimes even prevented) in the English, American and South African courts. It will be shown that the prospect of success depends on the law applicable to the demand guarantee and letter of credit, and the approach a court in a specific jurisdiction takes. At present, South Africa has limited literature on demand guarantees, and the case law regarding the grounds upon which payment under a demand guarantee might be prevented is scarce and often non-existent. In South Africa one finds guidance by looking at similar South African case law dealing with commercial and standby letters of credit and applying these similar principles to demand guarantees. The courts, furthermore, find guidance by looking at how other jurisdictions, in particular the English courts, deal with these issues. Therefore, how the South African courts currently deal/should be dealing/probably will be dealing with the unfair and fraudulent calling of demand guarantees/letters of credit is discussed in this thesis. / Jurisprudence / LL.D

Unapređenje kvaliteta alata za livenje pod pritiskom primenom tehnologija inženjerstva površina / Application of surface engineering technologies for improvement of diecasting tools quality

Terek Pal 21 September 2016 (has links)

Proučavane su koroziona postojanost i tendencija lepljenja različitih
materijala u kontaktu sa tečnom Al–Si–Cu legurom.
njena tačnost i verodostojnost simulacije procesa livenja. Korozioni
min).
tečnom metalu značajno prevazilaze performanse čelika i plazma
nitriranog sloja.
Međutim, dolazi do
prisutne u prevlakama. Stečena znanja o identifikovanim
mehanizmima habanja i propadanja zaštitnih slojeva prevlaka
poslužiće daljem razvoju dupleks slojeva namenjenih za zaštitu alata
za livenje pod pritiskom.
/
Corrosion resistance and soldering tendency of different materials in molten
Al–Si–Cu alloy were studied. Hot-working tool steel, plasma nitrided steel and
duplex layers with CrN, TiAlN, TiAlSiN and CrAlN top coatings, which were
produced to various degree of surface roughness, were covered by the study.
An ejection test was employed for investigation of the concerned phenomena.
The ejection test was improved in order to increase its accuracy and the
reliability of process simulation. Samples were examined in both short and
extended periods of contact (5 and 20 min) with liquid casting. Casting
solidification was extended in order to intensify the corrosion effects. Contrary
to common findings, it was found that the ejection force of the investigated
materials does not depend on their chemical composition. For the coated
samples, a pronounced dependence of the ejection force on the surface
roughness was found. The ejection force increases with decrease in surface
roughness. All investigated coatings are prone to mechanical soldering by Al–
Si–Cu alloy. Still, their corrosion resistance substantially exceeds the corrosion
resistance of steel and plasma nitrided layer. Longer exposure of coated
samples to cast alloy induced lower ejection forces, which is a consequence
of coatings oxidation. It was found that the investigated coatings are inert to
liquid aluminium. However, the underlying material undergoes oxidation and
corrosion through coating growth defects. The findings concerning the wear
mechanisms of protective layers support further development of duplex layers
intended for die casting tools protection.
