Kryptoanalýza postranními kanály / Side Channel Cryptanalysis

Martinásek, Zdeněk January 2013 (has links)
Side channels fundamentally changes the view of the cryptographic system security in cryptography. It is not enough to analyze the security algorithm only from a mathematical point of view using abstract models but it is necessary to focus on the implementation of the algorithms. The introduction of the thesis deals with the basic terms, principles of side channel attacks and basic clasification of side channels. The following chapter describes the objectives of the thesis. The main goal of the thesis is to propose and experimentally verify a new power analysis method whish will use the neural network. This main goal was based on the realized analyzes presented in the following chapters. These chapters contain a detailed analysis of currently used power analysis and analysis of AES encryption algorithm. AES was selected becouse the algorithm is resistant to the conventional cryptoanalysis. The following section describes the experimental results of the optimization of existing methods, the influence of the parameters affecting power consumption and the results of the proposed analysis using neural networks. This section includes the discussion of the results. This type of side channel attack has not been published yet thus it is a completely new idea. The final goal of the thesis was to summarize the possible countermeasures protecting against the side channel attacks.

Fiabilité et robustesse des cartes d alimentations des nouvelles générations des modules RADAR. / Reliability and robustness of electronic power board of the new generations of RADAR modules

Lachkar, Chadia 19 December 2018 (has links)
Today, the increasing demands in terms of competitiveness require the design of electronic power systems having a minimal bulk while maintaining a good reliability. The combination of these two features is required at a system level as well as at a component level. It is particularly the case of liquid electrolyte aluminum capacitors, which are widely used as storage tanks forelectrostatic energy. This function is necessary in electronic power systems to provide energy to the different parts with each current draw. According to the literature, the study and the evaluation of the reliability of these systems rely heavily on that of liquid electrolyte aluminum capacitors as well as on other components identified as critical (MOS switching transistors, insulators in transformers, etc.). The first chapter begins with a detailed presentation of the technology of capacitors by indicating the various parameters that characterize them and the different work done in the literary on the study and evaluation of the reliability of these components. In the second chapter, aging tests are developed based on the mission profile of the system. Then, the evolutions of characteristics having a significant degradation are modeled. The third chapter deals with the physico-chemical characterization of the capacitor in order to understand and to explain the failure modes recorded during the aging tests. The last chapter is devoted to performing aging tests on a system which is simulating the heat dissipation of components adjacent to capacitors. Electrical measurements are realized in real time to monitor the voltage at their terminals. Finally, a mechanical stress test is carried out to evaluate the impact of vibrations on the connection of new and aged capacitors.

The European Unit – a Foreign Currency? : A West German Point of View

Gramlich, Ludwig 13 March 2009 (has links)
The author sketches the development and legal status of the European Currency Unit (ECU), the predecessor of today's European single currency Euro, and asks whether from the perspective of (former) German monetary law, this currency unit had to be looked at not as a domestic currency ("Deutsche Mark"), but rather as a foreign one.

Využití virtuální reality ve vzdělávání dospělých / Using of Virtual Reality in Education of Adults

Sýkorová, Lucie January 2020 (has links)
This thesis focuses on the use of virtual reality in adult education. The virtual reality is a new technology, which can be used in many areas, including adult education. The concept of the virtual reality is ambiguous, therefore the first part of the thesis defines and characterizes this concept and describes its main effects. The main topic of the theoretical part of this work is existing knowledge about the use of the virtual reality and application of this knowledge to adult education. Virtual reality cannot be considered an absolutely perfect tool in all educational situations. It is therefore important to point out basic advantages and limits of its use in adult education. All these areas have been investigated by quantitative research. Keywords: Virtual reality, ICT in education of adults, using of virtual reality, virtual education, new trends in education

Osel domácí - hospodářské zvíře nebo domácí mazlíček? (Chov a uplatnění oslů v Polabí - případová studie) / The donkey - a livestock or a pet? (Breeding and use of donkeys in Polabí lowland - a case study)

Diblíčková, Eliška January 2014 (has links)
Donkeys have been useful helpers to people especially at transporting burdens and in agriculture for thousands of years. Nowadays they make livelihoods of rural as well as urban inhabitants over all continents easier. The use of donkeys in agriculture and transport is vanishing in developing countries due to the mechanization. We know only little about how and why people keep breeding of donkeys in developing countries. Theoretical part of the thesis tries to summarize previous basic knowledge about breeding and using donkeys. It focuses on domestication of donkeys, their use in history in different parts of the world, current position of donkeys and partly on relations between men and animals from the view of Human-Animal Studies. A research in a part of Polabí lowland is added. The main practical aim of the thesis is to take a look at the phenomenon of breeding donkeys in the Czech Republic in the present and bring any findings about why do people breed donkeys in modern times in this developing country. Research finds how are donkeys bred, what reasons lead breeders to get donkeys and what their real use is. The thesis contributes to popularization of this theme among experts and laymen and suggests methodology for research of breeding donkeys in other areas as well.

Obraz třídního nepřítele v 1. polovině 50. let 20. století / Presentation of the regime enemy in 1950s.

Hykešová, Marie January 2014 (has links)
1 ABSTRACT The main aim of my diploma work is to show the representation of the class fighting and the class enemy presented to inhabitants of the Czech Repub- lic in the first half of 1950's, particularly during the period of Stalinism. This reflection of the class fighting and the class enemy is a consequence of reading newspaper and poetry published in the defined period. This period is characterized by bipolar dividing of the world in two blocs: socialist and capitalist that declared different contradictory ideologies. This di- viding resulted from the Cold War and both blocs were mutually competing for the final victory of one regime. Socialist bloc described rivalrous capitalist bloc in an unsightly manner and it was knowingly spreading fear of its enemies either coming from the capitalist bloc or at least co-operating with it. So my work demonstrates describing the enemies of socialism and work- ing class and also features that were attributed and ascribed to them. The con- trast between these two blocs were often used for this description. The socialist bloc was the sphere of welfare and progress while the capitalist bloc was the sphere of evil and decay. There are also narrator's memories of the 1950's to sketch in the atmos- phere of the defined period. Selected narrators recall their lives in...

Towards promoting the well-being of wheelchair users by measuring physical activity

Abella, Daniel January 2020 (has links)
To measure physical activity in a wheelchair user is important. Disabled people have been found to be less active and it has negative health implications. By relating to ones own physical activity in concrete form it is easier to reinforce a positive attitude towards being physically active. The aim of this thesis is to show how a system can be built, that is able to collect measurements from sensors, with usability in mind. The system consists of software that integrates an iPhone, Apple Watch and a Tacx rotation sensor mounted on a wheelchair. With the help of a physics model these measurements can estimate energy expenditure of a wheelchair user. The system was tested with four participants performing subjectively decided low, moderate and vigorous physical activity while the system collected data. In terms of absolute energy expenditure the system was inaccurate. On the other hand, correlations were found between the calculated energy expenditures and physical activity. Using measurements from the rotations sensor a correlation of 0.7315 was found between the calculated energy expenditure and physical activity, a correlation of 0.5385 using measurements from the GPS and a correlation of 0.6452 using measurements from Apples own proprietary algorithm. The created system is a promising prototype towards objective measurement of physical activity in wheelchair users.

Distribution of Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) Errors in a Planar Jet

Howell, Jaron A. 01 May 2018 (has links)
Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) is an optical fluid measurement technique used to obtain velocity measurements. Two PIV systems were used to capture data simultaneously and measurement error for the MS PIV system is calculated. An investigation of error distribution is performed to determine when uncertainty estimations fail for the CS PIV-UQ method. Investigation of when results from multi pass PIV processing are achieve were performed so that reliable uncertainty estimations are produced with the CS method. An investigation was also performed which determined that error distributions in PIV systems are correlated with flow shear and particle seeding density. Correlation of random errors in space was also performed at the jet core and shear regions of the flow. It was found that in flow regions with large shear that error distributions were non-Gaussian. It was also found in regions of large shear that CS uncertainty results did not match the error. For multi-pass PIV processing with 50% and 75% IW overlap it was found that 4 and 6 passes should be used, respectively, in order for CS uncertainty estimations to be reliable. It was also found that the correlation of random errors in space is much larger in shear regions of the jet flow than in the jet core.
