Previous issue date: 2009-02-12 / The intent of this paper was to study in an explicatory way the phenomenological group potential related to career choices, describing and comprehending teenagers as they present their experiences and feelings when choosing a career and university/college. The practice here presented is specifically structured through a non-directive work of career consulting as it is not a part of a pre-established program. The data meetings were built through the relationship between researcher and participants. The meetings were settled once a week, for ninety minutes each, totalizing five meetings. The group was facilitated by the researcher-psychologist, with another psychologist as co-facilitator. The data acquired in this study for analyzes were the felt sense reports written by the participants and the narratives of experiences written by the researcher in each meeting. In conclusion, the non-directive career consulting is a practice that allows the increase of self-knowledge, extending the potential of personal choices in this matter. / Este trabalho pretendeu fazer um estudo explorat?rio do potencial do grupo fenomenol?gico em rela??o ? escolha profissional, descrevendo e compreendendo como se apresenta a experi?ncia e os sentimentos de adolescentes frente ? etapa de vida em que se espera que escolham uma faculdade. Especificamente a pr?tica aqui apresentada se estrutura atrav?s de um trabalho n?o-diretivo de orienta??o profissional por n?o partir de um programa de pr?-estabelecido. Os encontros foram constru?dos na rela??o entre a pesquisadora e os participantes. Foram realizadas cinco sess?es de noventa minutos com o grupo, uma vez por semana. O grupo foi facilitado pela psic?loga-pesquisadora, auxiliada por outra psic?loga. Os registros para a an?lise foram as Vers?es de Sentido escritas pelas integrantes do grupo e os relatos das ocorr?ncias de cada encontro escritos pela pesquisadora. Concluise que o processo de orienta??o profissional n?o- diretivo ? uma pr?tica que permite a amplia??o do autoconhecimento, aumentando o potencial de escolhas pessoais.

Visando explorar como as empresas de consultoria especializadas em avaliação de impacto ambiental promovem a gestão do conhecimento, foram levantadas práticas adotadas por oito empresas atuantes neste ramo. O estudo procurou verificar se há relação entre a classificação das empresas no contínuo de Maister (1997) com as práticas e ferramentas propostas por Silva (2004), fundamentadas, por sua vez, no ciclo de aprendizado de Nonaka e Takeuchi (1995), com os repositórios de conhecimento utilizados pelas empresas e com suas experiências relacionadas à criação, troca e retenção de conhecimento. Utiliza-se como método de pesquisa a aplicação de entrevistas qualitativas com integrantes chaves destas organizações. Conclui-se que o nível de diversificação de atuação das consultorias, em relação a mercados e territórios, pode indicar quais ferramentas de GC são mais apropriadas para essas organizações. / In order to explore how environmental consulting companies specialized in environmental impact assessments promote knowledge management, practices adopted by companies operating in this field were raised. The study attempts to verify whether there is relationship between the classification of companies in the Maisters continuous (1997) and the practices and tools proposed by Silva (2004), based in turn in the cycle of learning proposed by Nonaka and Takeuchi (1995), with the knowledge repositories used by companies and their experiences related to knowledge creation, exchange and retention. It is used as the research method the application of qualitative interviews with key members of these organizations. The conclusion of this study is that the level of consultants diversification, regarding markets and territories, may indicate the most appropriate KM tools for these organizations.

A Amazônia Legal, conhecida por sua dimensão territorial e pela magnitude e diversidade de seus recursos naturais, destaca-se como uma região estratégica para o Brasil, mas sua integração ao desenvolvimento socioeconômico nacional foi e continua sendo problemática e conflituosa. Na atualidade, ao menos no plano do discurso oficial, há a busca por modelos alternativos para o desenvolvimento da região, que sejam capazes de aliar a preservação dos recursos naturais com a geração de benefícios econômicos e sociais. O turismo, mais especificamente o ecoturismo, aparece nas políticas públicas dirigidas à região como parte importante desses modelos. Desta forma, consideramos relevante analisar as ações recentes do Estado voltadas à promoção do uso turístico de parcelas do território amazônico, tendo como principal objeto de análise o Programa de Desenvolvimento do Ecoturismo na Amazônia Legal (Proecotur), gerenciado pelo Ministério do Meio Ambiente, de 1996 a 2010. Partimos do pressuposto de que o Estado é, em última instância, quem legitima as formas de uso do território, sendo sua ação e inação contundentes no processo de produção do espaço. Ao analisar, entretanto, as particularidades da produção de políticas públicas de turismo, no âmbito do Proecotur, constatamos a presença de empresas de consultoria assumindo funções tipicamente estatais, sob os paradigmas da descentralização e do enxugamento do Estado, no período áureo das políticas neoliberais. A terceirização de competências públicas nos remeteu a incluir, em nosso estudo, a análise das instituições responsáveis pela gestão pública do turismo nos estados da Amazônia Legal, como também do processo de elaboração de políticas de turismo delegado às empresas de consultoria, fato que denominamos de produção terceirizada de políticas públicas. / Legal Amazon Region, known for its territorial dimension and the magnitude and diversity of its natural resources, stands out as a strategic region for Brazil. However, its integration into the national socioeconomic development still remains problematic and conflictive. Today, at least in which concerns to the official discourse, alternative models created to promote the region development have been improved, able to combine the preservation of natural resources to the generation of economic and social benefits. Tourism, specifically ecotourism, is mentioned in public policies as an important part of these models. Thus, we consider relevant to analyze recent government actions concerning to the promotion of tourism in certain portions of Amazon terrirory, taking, as our main case study, the Program for the Development of Ecotourism in Amazon (Proecotur), managed by the Ministry of Environment between 1996 and 2010. We assume that State is, ultimately, who legitimizes forms of land use, and its action and inaction compelling space production process. When considering, however, the specifications of public policy in the development of tourism within Proecotur, we could notice the presence of consulting firms assuming exclusive State functions, under the paradigm of decentralization and downsizing of the State, in a golden period of neoliberalism. The outsourcing of public powers leaded us to include in our study the analysis of public institutions responsible for the management of tourism in the Amazonian states, as well as the process of developing tourism policies delegated to consulting firms, what we call \"outsourced production of public policy\".

Previous issue date: 2013-06-28 / The central theme of this work is the technical and legislative consulting activity in City
Councils. Based on the knowledge of the assignments and work processes of a team of
consultants, this study sought to answer what would be the contributions of Social Work
in this professional acting space. It is known that advisory and consulting are listed as
professional skills of a social worker in the Law that regulates the occupation, which led
to the question: For what reasons has the existence of social worker consultant, acting
with their technical and scientific knowledge within the scope of the Legislative Power,
been rare?
Assuming that the social worker has legitimate technical and professional competence
to carry out legislative consulting, the following assumptions have been identified: the
fact of there being a small number of and/or there being no social worker consultants in
the Legislative Power would be associated with the fact that technical and legislative
consulting has been consolidated recently and in Legislatives with greater structural
complexity; the dilemmas about the meaning of a "highly technical" body of
professionals in the Legislative Power are still persistent, such as the Institutional
Consulting, due to several political interests; contests for the access to a consultant
position are performed in different ways; there is low investment in human resources for
the work linked to social areas; the Social Work profession would still be associated
only with the Social Assistance area and the final execution of that Policy; and last but
not least, the social workers little knowledge or total lack of knowledge of institutional
legislative consulting.
The research is qualitative and has been carried out through the search of documentary
sources, bibliographical survey and gathering and analysis of statements by some
legislative consultants who deal with social issues.
As a result, we can say that the existence and the activity of Legislative Consulting are
still incipient due to countless reasons, the main one being the little appreciation of the
technical and scientific work. Moreover, Social Work has wide space for performance
in this position, in a critical and relatively autonomous way, according to the ethicalpolitical
project of the professional category of social workers, based on the Code of
Ethics, which, together with other documents, sets out the principles, values and
guidelines of the aforementioned project / O tema central do presente trabalho é o exercício da Consultoria técnico-legislativa nas
Câmaras Municipais. A partir do conhecimento das atribuições e processos de trabalho
de uma equipe de consultores, procurou-se responder quais seriam as contribuições do
Serviço Social nesse espaço de atuação profissional.
É sabido que a assessoria e a consultoria estão elencadas como competências
profissionais do assistente social na Lei que regulamenta a profissão, o que levou à
questão: por quais razões tem sido rara a existência do assistente social consultor,
atuante com seu conhecimento técnico-científico no âmbito do Poder Legislativo?
Admitindo-se que o assistente social tem legítima competência técnico-profissional para
exercer a consultoria legislativa, foram levantadas as seguintes hipóteses: o fato de não
se ter conhecimento e/ou de haver reduzido número de assistentes sociais consultores no
Poder Legislativo estaria associado ao fato de a Consultoria técnico-legislativa estar se
consolidando recentemente e principalmente em Legislativos de maior complexidade
estrutural; ainda são persistentes os dilemas no Poder Legislativo sobre o significado de
um corpo eminentemente técnico de profissionais, tal como a Consultoria
Institucional, em face dos diversos interesses políticos; os concursos de acesso ao cargo
de consultor são realizados de diferentes formas; há baixo investimento em recursos
humanos para o trabalho afeto às áreas sociais; a profissão de Serviço Social ainda seria
associada apenas à área da Assistência Social e à execução terminal dessa Política, e,
por último mas não menos importante, o pouco ou total desconhecimento do próprio
assistente social quanto à consultoria institucional legislativa.
A pesquisa tem caráter qualitativo e foi realizada por meio de consulta a fontes
documentais, por levantamento bibliográfico e pela coleta e análise de depoimentos de
alguns consultores legislativos que se ocupam de temáticas da área social.
Como resultado, podemos dizer que a existência e a atuação da Consultoria Legislativa
são ainda incipientes por inúmeras razões, sendo a principal delas a pouca valorização
do trabalho técnico-científico no âmbito do Legislativo. Ademais, o Serviço Social tem
amplo espaço para uma atuação neste cargo de uma forma crítica e relativamente
autônoma, segundo o projeto ético-político da categoria profissional dos assistentes
sociais, à luz do Código de Ética que, em conjunto com outros documentos, enuncia os
princípios, valores e diretrizes do aludido projeto

Dynamic capabilities and strategic management : explicating the multi-level nature of dynamic capabilities : insights from the information technology security consulting industryAkpobi, Tega Cosmos January 2017 (has links)
The dynamic capabilities perspective has become one of the most vibrant approaches to strategic management. Despite its growing popularity, it has faced criticism because of ambiguity and contradictions in dynamic capabilities literature. There has been increasing calls to address the fragmentation in the literature and provide empirically collaborated insights if it is to fulfil its potential as a distinct approach to strategic management. The microfoundations research agenda remains an emerging theme in the dynamic capabilities literature and since the overarching emphasis of a microfoundational approach is in the explanatory primacy of the micro-level especially in its relation to macro-level entities, it covers a wide array of subjects at several levels. One of the main criticisms of the microfoundations approach is a lack of multi-level analysis and there has been calls for multi-level theory development to connect levels within particular contexts since dynamic capabilities are path dependent and context-specific. This thesis explores the multi-level nature of dynamic capabilities in the Information Technology Security context and empirically investigates the impact of microfoundations of dynamic capabilities on firm capability renewal and reconfiguration. It overcomes the challenge associated with fragmentation in dynamic capabilities by presenting a conceptual model for the multi-level nature of dynamic capabilities. By explicating where dynamic capabilities reside, we can more purposely impact on them to advance our scholarly understanding and proffer practical managerial interventions to directly enhance specific abilities of sensing, seizing and reconfiguring to achieve superior outcomes. The research employed the Gioia qualitative case study research methodology and research methods used were 35 semi-structured interviews and observations. The research findings suggest that firms renew and reconfigure their capabilities to align with the changing industry and industry standards, and client needs. Firms also renew and reconfigure capabilities and capability framework due to internal strategic organisational learning and to align with firm’s specific business strategies. Capability renewal and reconfiguration is vital to achieve technical and evolutionary fitness. In addition, findings inform that dynamic capabilities in the form of ability to sense, seize and reconfigure exhibit at macro, meso and micro levels. Actor’s external engagement with significant institutions enables superior sensing ability. Accumulated experience is exploited to gain credibility with clients to win business, and demystifying firm processes and clarity of language in firm artefacts achieve superior knowledge articulation and codification processes by actors. Structuring of simple routines and capabilities enable ease of internal knowledge transfer but susceptibility to intellectual property theft by outsiders whereas complex routines and capabilities create challenges for knowledge transfer but are harder for competitors to discern and copy. Drawing on the research findings, the thesis presents a conceptual model for the multi-level microfoundations of dynamic capabilities in knowledge-intensive domains with relevance for theory and practice.

Previous issue date: 2012-08-14 / Fundo Mackenzie de Pesquisa / This dissertation aims to identify how consulting firms of information technology (IT) use its resources and capabilities in the pursuit of competitive advantage, from the standpoint of the Resource Based View (RBV). To this end, we reviewed the constructs of strategic management, strategic resources, skills, reasoning of RBV, competitive advantage, opportunities, threats and strategies. The type of research was an exploratory research method used was descriptive, qualitative, in-depth interviews guided by a semi-structured. We interviewed seven executives of the top management of IT consulting firms that were or had been involved with various aspects of the theme of this work. The surveyed companies are direct competitors in the services they provide, which forced the data to be kept confidential. To perform data analysis, we chose to use the Content Analysis. As a result, we can say that the companies that participated in this work uses the knowledge and experience of its human resources added to the customer relationships as a source of their actions in pursuit of competitive advantage. These resources and capabilities are used strategically in order to take advantage of the relationship established with the client in seeking new business opportunities, thus creating a barrier to the threat of new entrants, and maintain competitive edge over competitors. / Esta dissertação tem por objetivo identificar como as empresas de consultoria de tecnologia da informação (TI) utilizam seus recursos e capacidades na busca da vantagem competitiva, sob o enfoque da Visão Baseada em Recursos VBR (Resource Based View RBV, em inglês). Para tanto, foram revisados os construtos de administração estratégica, recursos estratégicos, competências, fundamentação da VBR, vantagem competitiva, oportunidades, ameaças e estratégias. O tipo da pesquisa foi o exploratório e o método de pesquisa adotado foi o qualitativo descritivo, com entrevistas em profundidade orientadas por um roteiro semiestruturado. Foram entrevistados sete executivos da alta gestão de empresas de consultoria de TI, que estavam ou estiveram envolvidos com os diversos aspectos do tema deste trabalho. As empresas da pesquisa são concorrentes diretas nos serviços que prestam, o que obrigou a manutenção do sigilo dos dados obtidos. Para realizar a análise dos dados, optou-se pela utilização da Análise de Conteúdo. Como resultado, é possível afirmar que as empresas que participaram deste trabalho utilizam-se do conhecimento e experiência dos seus recursos humanos agregados ao relacionamento com os clientes, como fonte de suas ações na busca da vantagem competitiva. Esses recursos e capacidades são estrategicamente utilizados, visando a aproveitar o vínculo estabelecido com o cliente na busca de novas oportunidades de negócios, criando dessa forma uma barreira às ameaças de novos entrantes, e a manutenção da vantagem competitiva sobre os concorrentes.

Previous issue date: 2013-05-13 / This study aimed to understand the benefits that the instruments of the systemic point of view is a process of Career Consulting. This was a qualitative research based on systems thinking new paradigm, consisting of three steps: literature review, data collection and content analysis of the reference materials with new systemic paradigm. Data collection was performed individually with a young participant in a Career Program in Logistics in a midsize company. We performed an initial interview, three meetings, in which we used the following instruments: Biography, Timeline, Genoprofissiograma and Cultural Map Networks and a final meeting in which the participant re-visited the result of each instrument worked and described the perception which had in making each of the instruments. The results showed that the instruments used under the gaze of the systemic point of view were crucial in expanding and embracing the participant about his personal and professional history, bringing many benefits reported by participants in the fifth and final meeting. The research also showed that the values, education and broadcast models in the family relationships were important factors in the choice and professional journey of participant. Furthermore, especially in the biography and Cultural Map Network, the role of the social network was significant choice in building his career / Este trabalho teve como objetivo compreender os benefícios que instrumentos advindos da pratica sistêmica tem num processo de Consultoria de Carreira. Tratou- se de uma investigação qualitativa com base no pensamento sistêmico novo paradigmático, composta de três etapas levantamento bibliográfico, coleta de dados e analise do conteúdo dos materiais com o referencial sistêmico novo paradigmatico.Essa coleta foi realizada com uma jovem, participante de um Programa de Carreira em Logística em uma empresa de médio porte. Foi realizada uma entrevista inicial, três encontros, nos quais foram utilizados os instrumentos Biografia, Linha do Tempo, Genoprofissiograma e Mapa de Redes Culturais e um encontro final em que a participante re-visitou o resultado de cada instrumento e relatou sua percepção sobre cada um deles. Os resultados mostraram que os instrumentos utilizados pela Abordagem Sistêmica Novo-Paradigmática foram determinantes na ampliação e apropriação da participante sobre sua hist6ria pessoal e profissional, trazendo muitos benefícios, relatados no ultimo encontro. A pesquisa mostrou também que os valores, a educação e os modelos transmitidos na relação familiar foram fatores preponderantes na escolha e na jornada profissional da participante. Na Biografia e no Mapa de Redes Culturais, o papel da rede social mostrou-se significativo na construção da escolha de sua carreira

<p><strong>Bakgrund:</strong> Sedan introduktionen i början av 1990-talet har utvecklingen av volymen nyemitterade aktieindexobligationerna totalt sett varit positiv vilket tyder på att produkten blivit en populär sparform hos svenskar. Detta tillsammans med det faktum att det finns få studier gjorda kring aktieindexobligationer som sparform där ett större perspektiv tas i beaktande gör ämnet intressant att studera.</p><p><strong>Syfte:</strong> Uppsatsens syfte är att kartlägga och analysera för vilka privata investerare aktieindexobligationer passar som sparform ur ett livscykelperspektiv med utgångspunkt i (i) bransch- och rådgivningspraxis, (ii) finansiell riskhanteringsteori med fokus på portföljvalsteori och (iii) historisk data avseende risk och avkastning.</p><p><strong>Genomförande:</strong> Studien har genomförts med hjälp av att intervjua privatrådgivare, kapitalrådgivare och personer som arbetar med strukturerade produkter på storbanker och hos mindre finansiella aktörer. Fem stereotyper har använts som diskussionsunderlag vid intervjuerna. För att kunna föra en djupare analys kring produkten som sparform för privata investerare har en portföljoptimering genomförts för att ta historisk data gällande risk och avkastning i beaktande.</p><p><strong>Slutsats:</strong> Studien fastställer att produkten passar privata investerare som befinner sig i den senare delen av konsolideringsfasen och inte är de mest riskbenägna. Studien visar att det främst är kredit- och marknadsrisken som är kopplade till aktieindexobligationer samtidigt som risken i produkten bedöms som låg. Studien visar även på att egenskaper som tillförs investerares portföljer är låg risk samt en potentialaspekt.</p> / <p><strong>Background:</strong> Since the introduction in the early 1990s, the volume of newly issued equity index bonds overall had a positive development. This increase indicates that the product has become a popular form of savings among Swedes. Together with the fact that there are few studies done on equity index bonds as a savings product. A wider perspective has been taken into account which makes the subject interesting to study.</p><p><strong>Aim: </strong>Purpose of this study is to identify and analyze for who private investors equity index bonds fit as a savings product on lifecycle thought based on (i) professional and consulting practices, (ii) financial risk management theory, focusing on portfolio theory, and (iii) historical data on risk and return.</p><p><strong>Completion: </strong>The study was completed using interviews with private consultants, capital advisors and people working with structured products at major banks and of small players. In addition, five stereotypes were used as a basis for discussion during the interviews. In order to conduct a deeper analysis of the product as a form of saving for private investors, a portfolio optimization carried out taking the historical data on risk and return into account.</p><p><strong>Conclusion:</strong> The study determines that the product is suitable for private investors who are in the latter part of the consolidation phase and mainly not prone to risk. The study suggests that equity index bonds primarily are associated with credit- and market risk, while the risk of the product is assessed as low. The study also indicates that the properties that are added to investors’ portfolios are low risk and a potential aspect.</p>

<p>The aim of this study is to investigate how employees in consulting companies develop their competence in order to perform their daily work. The focus is on informal competence development. The theoretical framework consists of theories concerning learning and competence development in working life, theories on organizational change and evaluation, a well as professional reflection. The methods applied are narrative research and interviews based on the assumption that knowledge about reality is only obtainable through language and communication.</p><p>The main results show that competence is developed through experience, social interaction, communication and dialog with co-workers and customers. The post-modern conceptions of the rapid (technical) development and need to be up-to-date has a strong hold on the informants apprehension of working life, as does the notion of not having enough time for all the competence development they would like. Time also work in favour of competence as experience is developed over time. The results lead to the conclusion that both the motive for and the aim of competence development is the creation of a meaningful and manageable reality.</p> / <p>Undersökningens syfte är att studera hur anställda i kunskapsföretag utvecklar kompetens för att klara det dagliga arbetet Fokus ligger på den informella kompetensutvecklingen. De teoretiska utgångspunkterna innefattar teorier om lärande och kompetensutveckling, organisationsförändring och utvärdering samt professionell reflektion. I undersökningen används narrativ analys och intervjuer vilket baseras på uppfattningen att kunskap om verkligheten bara kan nås genom språk och kommunikation.</p><p>De huvudsakliga resultaten visar att kompetens utvecklas genom erfarenhet, social interaktion, kommunikation och dialog med medarbetare och kunder. De postmoderna uppfattningarna om den snabba (tekniska) utvecklingen och kravet på att vara uppdaterad påverkar starkt informanternas syn på arbetslivet, liksom känslan av att inte ha tillräckligt med tid för all den kompetensutveckling som önskas. Men tiden arbetar också för kompetensen eftersom erfarenhet är något som utvecklas över tid. Resultaten leder fram till slutsatsen att både drivkrafterna till och målet för kompetensutveckling är att skapa en begriplig och hanterbar verklighet.</p>

<p>AbstractPurposeTo study which and how project management methodologies are applied in consulting firmsApproachThe study begins by reviewing literature on Traditional Project Management (TPM) andAgile Project Management (APM) methodologies ending with characteristics of the twomethodologies that identify a project as applying one methodology or another. The literaturethen reviews the nature of consulting firms emphasising on elements such as the professional,professional services and professional service firms before reviewing how projects areimplemented in consulting firms. A case study design is adopted and semi-structuredinterviews were conducted with PricewaterhouseCoopers-Ghana staff. Patterns from theinterviews are identified and compared with the characteristics of both Traditional and Agileproject management before drawing conclusions on which methodologies are applied andhow they are applied. Since APM is presumed to deal with problems of TPM in complexenvironments, challenges in applying TPM in consulting firms are assessed and the extent towhich APM responds to those challenges are also discussed.FindingsThe findings indicate that TPM is applied in consulting firms mainly for structured projects,whilst APM methods are also applied for some structured projects but very much forunstructured and ‘executory’ projects. APM also deals with some challenges of TPM butthose which are organisation related are not solved by applying APM methods.Research limitationThe limited number of people interviewed for this research is one key issue that limitsgeneralization to all consulting firms. However, it is hoped that this work serves as a basis forfurther research in this field.Practical implicationsThe study shows that whilst TPM will continuously be applied in consulting firms due to thenature of some projects, APM can also be applied to the benefit of consulting projects that areunstructured and ‘executory’.
