Optimisation de la configuration magnétique d'un propulseur à effet Hall par résolution du problème magnétostatique inverse / Magnetic circuit optimization of a Stationnary Plasma Thruster, by magnetostatic inverse problem resolution

Vilamot, Raphaël 13 January 2012 (has links)
The works made during this thesis concern the optimization of the magnetic configuration of propellers with effect Hall. This groups two objectives: on one hand the realization of a propeller with effect Hall the magnetic topology of which is completely customizable, which will establish a precious tool for the study of the impact of the magnetic field on the functioning of the propeller and on the other hand, the study of way of design rationalized of magnetic circuits for these same propellers. The first subject led to the realization of the PPS-Flex, a propeller proposing an innovative magnetic structure of circuit offering a large number of degrees of freedom in terms of regulation of the magnetic field produces. The second theme approached as for her resting on methods

Contribution à la modélisation du champ électromagnétique dans les dispositifs basses fréquences par la méthode des moments / Contribution to the modeling of the electromagnetic field in the low frequency devices by the method of moments

Oubaid, Rania 16 December 2014 (has links)
The numerical modeling has become essential in the world of industrial design and scientific research. The problems to be solved are increasingly complex making it necessary to adopt an appropriate approach for the problem addressed. In the domains of application of low frequency electromagnetic, the finite element method (FEM) is the reference method. Currently, more and more devices having large open gaps are developed. In this kind of problems, the MEF is not optimal as it requires to mesh a large volume of air to get a good accuracy. In this thesis we study, through two applications (an open system and a large gap system), an alternative method that does not suffer from the limitations discussed: the method of moments (MoM) of volume integral type. Indeed, this method requires to mesh only the magnetic media. The principle of this method is first to calculate the induced magnetization in the linear or nonlinear medium under the effect of an external field. To accomplish this, the magnetic medium is discretized into hexahedral elements. In each element, a uniform magnetization is localized. Then, the determination of this induced magnetization allows to compute the magnetic field at any point in the space: internal, near or far. In the first step, a code based on the MoM has been developed for the first application. It allows to calculate the magnetostatic field near or far from a low-frequency antenna. A method to calculate the magnetostatic energy in the whole space was also developed. Meanwhile, in the second step, in order to treat complex geometry, some modifications have been integrated into the code to model the second application: the test device of Hall effect thrusters (PPS-Flex). It consists in taking into account the physical characteristics and geometric symmetry of the device. The results show that MoM allows to calculate the magnetic field inside the channel and possibly beyond. In both examples studied, the MoM has given satisfactory results when compared with the 3D finite element method and with the results of measurements. These results show potentially significant gains in the computation time. At the end of this thesis, we have developed a laboratory tool allowing to model the behavior of the static magnetic field in open and/or wide-gap systems.

Caractérisation, modélisation et identification de sources de champ magnétique dans un véhicule électrique / Characterization, Modeling and Identification of magnetic field sources inside an electric vehicle

Pinaud, Olivier 13 November 2014 (has links)
Electric vehicles have a lot of electrical devices onboard. All of them may generate electromagnetic field inside the car: a quite small space containing the passengers. A complete modeling of the vehicle can hardly be done because of the parameters number. The magnetic field measurement everywhere inside the car is also impossible. We first measure the magnetic field inside the car to study its characteristics. Then we propose to merge together a priori modeling with measurements into a Bayesian approach of the inverse problem. Based on spherical harmonic decomposition of the magnetic field, a priori information helps the resolution and gives the identified parameters with a very few measurements.

No. of bitstreams: 1 arquivototal.pdf: 1340608 bytes, checksum: 8cceaa9c73ae05a5a903b4b78e3fa6ba (MD5) Previous issue date: 2010-04-15 / Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico - CNPq / It is presented a review on three subjects: the origin and nature of topological defects, the non-relativistic and relativistic quantum mechanics, and the gravitational and eletrostatic selfforces that emerge from a conical spacetime surrounding a cosmic string. After setting up this theoretical framework, it is studied the behavior of a charged particle in the presence of a cosmic string, parallel to an uniform, constant magnetic field, which may be used as a model to a primordial large-scale magnetic field that permeates the universe. The geometry of a negative disclination is taken into account, this being a typically condensed matter physics topological defect equivalent to a cosmic string, where a wedge of material is inserted into the lattice. We computed exactly, the topological and electrostatic influences on the particles energy spectrum, and the phase shift for the charged scalar particle scattered states. Switching to a flat-spacetime context, spherically symmetric systems were studied, solving exactly, Klein-Gordon and Dirac equations which describe a scalar particle subject to a Coulomb vector potential and scalar central potentials.

Moura, Alex Anderson de Oliveira 25 July 2012 (has links)
Fundação de Amparo a Pesquisa do Estado de Minas Gerais / This work was to study the influence of the magnetic field on the reduction of hexavalent chromium, removal of COD and total chromium, addition of cell growth in batch (batch reactor), using a mixed culture from located in a tanning city of Franca-SP (AMCOA). The influence of static magnetic field generated by a device that produces an electric current through a conductor, producing a magnetic field around the conductor, like a magnet. This equipment produces a magnetic field pulsed square wave of constant intensity and frequency. In the first step of adjusting the mixed cultures of chromium VI obtained a promising response. Thereafter, a preliminary test was performed to analyze the behavior of the influence of the magnetic field in the reduction of chromium VI and diameter of the reactor, obtaining 71% reduction of chromium VI with a larger diameter, without the presence of magnetic field has seen a reduction of 53%, with an initial concentration of 100 mg/l of chromium and a time of 4 hours of process. In other stages of the project, performing the tests with different frequencies of the magnetic field (1,2,5 and 10 Hz) and doing an analysis related to cell death of micro-organisms, showed that for frequencies of 10 Hz, there was cell death presents some cultures, which was confirmed in a lower frequency. The results were satisfactory when used in a magnetic field frequency of 5 Hz, maximal reduction of chromium VI reducing the time about 4 hours of processing, better removal of COD and total chromium using a volume of 500 ml and concentration of 100 mg/l initial chromium. Checking the influence of different frequency magnetic field, the initial effluent volumes (300 and 1000 ml) and initial concentration of chromium VI (50, 150 and 200 mg/l). The higher the initial concentration the lower the chromium reduction of chromium VI, larger volumes and a reduction of chromium VI and removal of COD and total chromium is not as significant as the use of smaller volumes.

Tezenas du Montcel, Benoît 29 May 2018 (has links)
Ce modèle a permis d’étudier le comportement du plasma d’arc en fonction des intensités du courant d’arc et de l’AMF et de la distance inter-électrodes / In the frame of a project investigating the possibility to replace SF6 by vacuum as a breaking medium in High-Voltage circuit breakers, a study that focusses on acquiring a better understanding of the behavior of a metal vapor arc at long contact gap (> 10 mm) and controlled by an axial magnetic field (AMF) has been undertaken. The study involves first the building of an experimental setup where arcs, created between two fixed CuCr25 contacts, were visualized using a high-speed camera in a vacuum demountable chamber. Various types of arc regime have been observed. Moreover, by means of a numerical method of detection of the cathode spots, we were able to study the evolution of the spatial distribution of the cathode spots, to measure the average current carried by a spot and to determine the average radial profile of the current density at the cathode surface. This study had also for object the development of a 2D-axisymetric and quasi-steady magnetohydrodynamic model of the hydrodynamic flow region of the arc based on a two-fluid approach. The model allows to simulate the supersonic and the subsonic diffuse arc regimes. It is used to study the arc behavior as a function of to the arc current, the AMF intensity and the contact gap

Study of thermodynamics properties of Ashkin-Teller in random magnetic field

Luiz Antonio Bastos Bernardes 27 October 1995 (has links)
The meanfield theory of the long range Ashkin-Teller model in random fields was developed. This was obtained by using the replica trick and the study of the coupled integral equations for the order parameters, the stability of their solutions, and their expansions for T &#8804 Tc. Inicially, the expressions of the thermodynamic functions for the model in three random fields with Gaussian distributiuons were determined. After this, it was examined the particular case of the model with only one random field in the Z = &#8249 &#948 S &#8250 direction. The strategy revealed itself powerful by the detailed characterization of the phase diagram with several coexistence surfaces and lines of critical points. The integral equations of the thermodynamic functions for this particular case were discussed and numerically solved for special values of the interaction constants and field distribution variance. For the particular case of the model with random fields in the &#8249 S &#8250 and &#8249 &#948 &#8250, directions, the expressions were also determined and discussed. The equations of the instability surfaces for the paramagnetic solution were obtained, and it was proved that the para-Baxter transition line is always of first order. Another original result of the thesis was the verification of the the existence of the dilatation and contration symmetry in the Potts model with random fields. This symmetry permits that the study of the free energy in the q&#8712(1,2) interval supplies the thermodynamics behavior of the system for q>2.

Estudo da Estrutura Local dos SÃtios de Ferro em Ligas FeCrMo por Espectroscopia MÃssbauer e DifraÃÃo de Raios -X / Study of the local structure of iron sites in Fe-Cr-Mo alloys by MÃssbauer Spectroscopy and X-ray Diffraction

Francisco das Chagas Oliveira JÃnior 27 June 2011 (has links)
Fe-Cr-Mo alloys are widely used in the manufacture of piping for the petrochemical industry in oil transport and refining processes due to a combination of properties such as hardness, toughness, creep resistance and corrosion resistance at high temperatures. Nowadays the Fe-9Cr-1Mo alloy is the most common alloy in use. However, in some refineries with higher acidity levels, strong corrosion processes have been observed, specially in processes related to naphthenic acid corrosion. An increasing in the Molybdenum content has been pointed out as a possible solution to this problem, since the addition of this alloying element results in a better corrosion resistance. In this context, Fe-9Cr-XMo alloys with three different Molydbenum contents (X = 5, 7, 9 wt%) have been developed at LACAM - LaboratÃrio de CaracterizaÃÃo de Materiais at the Universidade Federal do CearÃ. The characterization of these alloys, as well as the precipitates that appear on them due to heat treatment and studies of their corrosion resistance were made through various techniques. Specifically in this work, Transmission MÃssbauer Spectroscopy and X-Ray Diffraction were used in order to achieve a better understanding of the structure changes of the alloys when they are subjected to different service conditions in the temperature range from 450ÂC to 650ÂC. The results led to the conclusion that the distribuition of the alloy elements in the matrix is influenced by the molibdenum content, the temperature and the treatment time. The precipitates present in the ASTM A213 grade T91, used for comparation with E1, E2 and E3 alloys, have been extracted and characterized as well. The presence of this precipitates changes the distribuition of the alloy elements in the matrix. The analysis of the influence of the impurity elements in the structure of the alloys was investigated by a model of first and second neighbors. The changes in the magnetic hyperfine field is proportional to the number of impurity atoms in the neighborhood of the iron sites. The distribuition of the alloy elements in the matrix is direct related to the distribution of the magnetic hyperfine field. The probabilities associated to the values of hiperfine field allow for a better understanding of the structure of the alloys.

An interferometric view of hot star disks / Uma visão interferométrica de discos de estrelas quentes

Daniel Moser Faes 06 October 2015 (has links)
Optical long baseline interferometry was recently established as a technique capable of resolving stars and their circumstellar environments at the milliarcsecond (mas) resolution level. This high-resolution opens an entire new window to the study of astrophysical systems, providing information inaccessible by other techniques. Astrophysical disks are observed in a wide variety of systems, from galaxies up to planetary rings, commonly sharing similar physical processes. Two particular disk like systems are studied in the thesis: (i) B He-rich stars that exhibits magnetic fields in order of kG and that trap their winds in structures called magnetospheres; and (ii) Be stars, fast rotating stars that create circumstellar viscous disks. This study uses the interferometric technique to investigate both the photosphere proper and the circumstellar environment of these stars. The objective is to combine interferometry with other observational techniques (such as spectroscopy and polarimetry) to perform a complete and well-constrained physical description of these systems. This description is accompanied by radiative transfer models performed by the HDUST code.
