Therefore, the research highlights the connection between the poetry of Oswald de Andrade and the artistic work of Tarsila do Amaral, as well as the graphic and conceptual design of such work. In the face of the innovative trends of the late nineteenth century and of the early twentieth century vanguards, and the cultural context lived by the author, the Pau Brasil work and the artistic and literary procedures that form it were analyzed, in order to establish a significant interarts dialogue. In order to contextualize and to support the study, aspects of the creation of the object book were addressed, assessing the difficulties of its conceptualization, as well as the connections established with the artistic vanguards - Futurism, Cubism, and particularly, Dadaism - and with works that, in a certain way, anticipated some of the characteristics of the Pau Brasil object book. The analysis of poems "enlightened" by Tarsila drawings unfolded the object book nature of Pau Brasil to the extent that the book is configured as a hybrid body, prepared with mixed and unusual materials when compared with the concept of poetry books – daily speeches fragments, advertisements, colonial history books excerpts, illustrations - in which the printing graphic materiality, the poems, the cover and the drawings are "aesthetic facts" not only to be read and seen, but to be touched and handled in a critical-parodic set / A presente dissertação analisa a obra Pau Brasil, de Oswald de Andrade, publicada em 1925, sob a perspectiva da sua configuração como livro-objeto, isto é, aquele que se inscreve entre as artes visuais e a literatura.

[en] HYBRIDISM AND THE EXPANSION OF THE NARRATIVE OF THE CHILDREN S CONTEMPORARY OBJECT BOOK / [pt] O HIBRIDISMO E A EXPANSÃO DAS NARRATIVAS NO LIVRO-OBJETO INFANTIL CONTEMPORÂNEO

ANA PAULA FONSECA DE OLIVEIRA 23 August 2017 (has links)
[en] This thesis discusses the hybridism in the contemporary children s Object Books, in an attempt to elucidate how the hybrid nature of the design language and of the intersemiotic experience, reveal the interactions in the multisensory stories, expanding the narratives found in children s Object Books. A look at the act of reading is not restricted to the deciphering of written letters – in whatever sort of support, but in the absorption of established representativeness. Book design influences that reading, not only in functional aspects, but also in symbolic ones, and that is why it can be considered as a reading-mediator, driving the reader through his journey. The thesis presents the reading of two children s object-books chosen from the works from Kveta Pacovská and Roger Mello, both internationally recognized designers/illustrators and plastic artists awarded with the Hans Christian Andersen prize. In these books, the progress from which the histories were activated and amplified in the hybridism of the narrative process was accounted. The theses is based on the notion of hybrid as an analytical category as proposed by Braida (2012).

Multiplication des récits et stéréométrie littéraire : d’Italo Calvino aux épifictions contemporaines / Narrative Multiplication and Literary Stereometry : from Italo Calvino to Contemporary Epifictions

Debeaux, Gaelle 24 November 2017 (has links)
From the Oulipian novels of Italo Calvino – If on a Winter’s Night a Traveller and The Castle of Crossed Destinies – to contemporary hyperfiction, a redefinition of the form and the issue of embedding narratives has taken place. Based on a contemporary corpus, this work aims to explore the mutations of such a narrative structure seen as traditional and theorised by French narratologists (G. Genette, T. Todorov) during the 1960s. The notion of narrative multiplication seeks to increase its potential in order to address a broader field of novels which try to intertwine several narratives at the same time as to interfere with the hierarchical frames of reference implied by embedding narratives. At the crossroads of narratology and theories of reception, this work questions what is narrative multiplication while keeping in mind its effects on the reader and on the plot (P. Ricoeur) : how can we understand and analyse the reader’s passionate reception (R. Baroni) of monstrous novels, interweaving narrative levels and playing with disorder, loss and illegibility ? We offer to follow closely the intrigued reader, protagonist of this study and surveyor or geometrician of fictional and textual spaces created by narrative multiplication, through her progress in novels – printed or digital – which put at the centre of their concerns the question of narrative devices
