Faktory ovlivňující zájem o folklor u členů folklorního souboru v Praze / Factors influencing interest in folklore among members of a folk group in Prague

Poppová, Anna January 2016 (has links)
The aim of this dissertation is to answer this question: what is the reason of folklore groups in Prague to reproduce and engage in the Moravian folklore. Apart from Moravians, Prague's native-born inhabitants also participate in these ensembles; which is possible to be considered as a specific phenomenon. This occurrence demands clarification. The main question is what the factors which influence the individual's interest in folklore are. Specifically what are the mechanisms of transmission of interest in this activity and what are the reasons why individuals are constantly devoted to folklore for a long period of time. The empirical part is devoted to these research questions. It tries to address these issues by the means of interviews with 13 respondents from a Prague's folklore ensemble. The theoretical part of the dissertation presents the base for the research questions. For example, it pursues the concept of socialization, identity or the contexts and functions of folklore in the contemporary society.

Ägarbyte : organisationsförändring och anställdas socialisationsprocess

Jonsson, Andrea, Baard, Cornelia January 2017 (has links)
The study was conducted at an organization that experienced a change of corporate ownership. The organization that underwent the change was part of an international company. After the buy-out, the organization became a part of another company, which also is established on the international market. This study aims to explain what composes the socialization process of employees during an organizational change of this kind. During organizational change employees undergo a process of socialization to create an understanding of the new structure that the change brings. The study aims to identify the key elements that compose employee’s socialization process. To identify the key elements a method based on interviews with nine employees was applied. The theoretical perspectives applied on the study were Internalization, Objectification & Externalization (Berger & Luckmann 1966), Sensemaking (Omar, Davis-Sramek, Fugate och Mentzer 2012, & Van Maanen, 1978 & Whelan- Berry, Gordon & Hinings, 2003) and two of the theoretical findings, Hangover and Group Exit (Ebaugh, 1988). The findings reveal five key elements, which make up the socialization process. The key elements are: Information, Expectation, Encouragement, Method of work and Conversation. Employees need explicit and accurate information about what the change entails. They also need to know what is expected of them and the kind of behavior that the organization promotes. Employees are also in need of knowing the specific method of work the organization advocates. The last key element employee’s need is various forms of interaction with colleagues.

Role of black grandmothers in the racial socialization of their biracial grandchildren

Chancler, Lover LM January 1900 (has links)
Doctor of Philosophy / Department of Family Studies and Human Services / Farrell J. Webb / The current study was focused on the role Black grandmothers played in biraical (Black and White) racial socialization process of their grandchild or grandchildren. Racial socialization process where by the grandmothers engaged in a systemtic and deliberate attempt to ensure that their grandchildren develp an awareness and sensibilty toward their Black hertiage. There were several criteria the grandmothers had to meet. They included being born before 1975, ensuring that the grandmothers expereienced the post 70s Black pride movement. The grandmother also needed to have contact with the identified grandchild. Qualitative methods with a phenomenological lens were employed. The Black grandmothers are seen as the experts on their experiences, thus phenomenology allowed me to probe deeper into the experiences of these grandmothers and their reality. One-on-one interviews were conducted with the participants at the location and time of their choice. The results revealed the perspective and methods they exercised in racially socializing their biracial grandchildren. The participants had similar beliefs as it related to what their role in the racial socialization process was supposed to be. There were eight primary themes that emerged were community influence, spirituality, social adjustment, feelings toward “the other”, social perception, cultural indoctrination, grandma’s burden, and the road ahead. Although, each grandmother had a different journey their conclusions regarding the way to socialize their biracial grandchildren as Black was unanimous.

Understanding the Socialization Experiences of New Technical Faculty: A Transition from Industry to the Technical College

Thornton, Annette Bordelon 14 May 2010 (has links)
This phenomenological qualitative research study sought to gain insight into the socialization experiences of new vocational technical faculty. Ten Louisiana vocational technical faculty members were interviewed face-to-face. The interviews were audiotaped, transcribed, and analyzed to discover how these new vocational technical faculty members transitioned from industry to academe. Data analysis revealed that participants in the study experienced a similar transitional process into the technical college as twoyear and four-year faculty into community colleges and universities. Like their two-year and four-year counterparts, the participants experienced similar challenges related to their new teaching positions, such as balancing heavy workloads, maintaining industry contacts, and interacting with administration, faculty and students. Similarly, they tended to value teaching, collegial relationships with other faculty and their interactions with students. However, some of the challenges were unique to their new positions as Louisiana vocational technical instructors. These faculty members experienced an anticipatory phase that prepared them for the workplace rather than academe. Many of the participants experienced notable levels of stress as they transitioned from industry to the technical college. The stress seemed to be related to their lack of pedagogical knowledge of teaching and the issues of forging a new academic persona. This research found that new vocational technical faculty members enjoyed formal professional development activities that were discipline specific and advanced their knowledge of their craft. The study also explored the use of Menges' (1999) Model of Faculty Academic Life as it related to the new vocational technical instructor experiences, role conceptualization, and resources that would help the faculty grow and develop as instructors. Through their shared experiences and stories the researcher identified the needs of this subpopulation and made recommendations for future studies.

Ethnic identity, socialization factors and their impacts on ethnic consumption behavior and ethnic food consumption in France / L'identité ethnique, les facteurs de socialisation et leurs impacts sur le comportement de consommation ethnique et la consommation alimentaire ethnique

Nguyen, Ngoc Anh 03 July 2013 (has links)
As a country with biggest number of immigrants in Europe, France has been so far known with its multiple ethnic populations, in which the ethnic minority represents a viable and untapped market segment. As a result, ethnic marketing has been developed correspondingly by several market agents who would like either to pursue new market segment or strive to cover the whole market while taking into account of growing multi-ethnic reality in France. The objective of this research is to measure ethnic identity of ethnic population in France, their socialization factors, their ethnic consumption behavior in general and their ethnic food consumption in particular, as well as to determine the influences of these factors. Applying a hypothetico-deductive approach, both theoretical and empirical investigations are conducted to serve the mentioned objective. The first part is a literature review, helpful in developing a conceptual model of ethnic identity, socialization factors and their impacts on ethnic consumption behavior and ethnic food consumption. It includes the social identity theory [Henry Taifel & John C. Tuner, 1970]; identity development theory which consists of theory on ego identity [Erik Erikson, 1986] and empirical researches on personal identity [Marcia, 1980] and ethnic identity development [Phinney & Ong, 2007]; theory on culture, sub-culture, counter-culture, acculturation; as well as in depth knowledge on ethnicity, ethnic identity, and ethnic marketing. Whereas empirical part involves data collection, processing and analysis, which servethe purpose of verifying not only variables of the conceptual model, but also the hypotheses on the relationships between them. The results of the survey on ethnic population in France have confirmed these hypotheses. They are useful in terms of theoretical contribution, as well as from the point of management since they help highlighting some strategies for ethnic marketing in associated with ethnic identity, ethnic consumption behavior and ethnic food consumption.

[en] TEACHERS ROOM OF NETWORK SCHOOL OF RIO DE JANEIRO: SPACE OF PROFESSIONAL SOCIALIZATION / [pt] SALA DE PROFESSORES DE UMA ESCOLA DE REDE DO SUBÚRBIO CARIOCA: ESPAÇO DE SOCIALIZAÇÃO PROFISSIONAL

ANGELA CRISTINA FORTES IORIO 13 December 2012 (has links)
[en] The objective of this paper is to investigate how do you build the professional socialization of teachers in a private school network that meets of the new average layers. Interviews with eight teachers of the first segment of the elementary school and observation of the teachers room were the main methodological strategies used of a ethnographic study of inspiration. The research focuses, particularly, on the conditions of work of the teachers and in as if it processes the professional development, considering itself that the experiences that they live deeply during the permanence in the teachers’ room can be promoting an effective continuous training. From the analysis of the material collected, there were some questions relating to teacher s work in this institution. Of a side, highlighted the precarious quality of teaching job because of low wages, intensifying work, the absence of a policy of training, organizational logic that is not conducive to the sharing of knowledge among teachers. On the other hand, that same organizational logic founded in adjusting devices in meeting deadlines, control of teaching practice, and pedagogical manuals-driven educational software ends up compromising the autonomy of the teachers and, consequently, the development of a collaborative atmosphere. Finally, the research problematizes the perverse effects of the commodification of education and the complexity of professional socialization in this school. This private network has its structure based on control and regulation devices that subjugate the teacher to a set of tools, techniques, procedures, inhibitors of creativity of teachers and of a by authorial work. The teacher professional socialization is determined by characteristic institutional devices employed by private network system for teaching and a portrait of how the school handles the teachers and develop the educational process.

Alcoolismo como processo: da identidade construída à (des) construção da pessoa / Alcoholism as a process: from the built identity to the (des) construction of it

Araujo, Ivanira de Souza 27 February 2008 (has links)
This research presents an investigation on the impact of alcoholism in social relations, mainly in family and work ones. There are 500 million alcohol addicts in the world and 10 to 15% of the population is likely to be dependent one day. The consumption of alcohol and other drugs in work environments has impact on 10 to 14% of workers, which increases hospital assistance and decreases work productivity. The analysis in this investigation starts from AA meetings\' attendance in downtown and surrounding areas in São Paulo city. The theoretical analysis is underpinned by the concepts of identity and socialization. According to Habermas (1983), identity is created by socialization; i.e, by the acquisition of symbolic universals. However, later on, it is sustained and developed by the process of individualization; i.e., by getting independent in relation to social systems. At the beginning, alcohol has the function of social \"modeler\" and it favors social relationship. However, as the process of addiction advances, it dominates and destroys everyday life. As a conclusion, medical discourse influences AA and its participants. There are important differences among AA members, such as, development period of alcohol dependence, kind of occupation, educational and income levels.

Influência da escolha vocacional no processo de socialização profissional de estudantes de enfermagem / The influence of the vocational choice in the professional socialization process of nursing students.

Baccaro, Thais Accioly 06 August 2007 (has links)
The professional socialization begins at the university and extends to the work environment. When this happens, there is great benefit. Otherwise, there will be negative consequences such as high rotation of employees and transfer requests. According to Shinyashiki et al. (2006) there are many reasons which can influence people\'s professional socialization process specially the vocational choice. Thus, the aim of this research is to analyze quantitatively the influence of vocational choice in the professional socialization process with nursing students through hypothesis tests and the creation of the answer tree using the CHAID algorithm. The relation was also analyzed by the introduction of the following factors in the test: gender, chronological age, social economical status, the size of the city in their childhood, religion, parents education, type of College, age of the choice for the nursing career, school year, if the student has ever worked or has had any activity related to nursing, and if the organization was from the health area, and also if he has worked as a trainee in a hospital. The results showed that a consistent vocational choice tends to enhance the nursing students\' professional socialization process and also that other factors like: type of school, school year, working experience in the area and the age of the choice for the career were good predictors for professional socialization.

A construção da masculinidade a partir de tabus corporais: considerações no campo da saúde / The construction of masculinity as from body taboos: considerations in the health area

Rondinelli, Paula 27 September 2013 (has links)
The theme of this work was the formation of masculinity as from body taboos: specifically the taboo of anal violation/non-violation. The main question was: how men react to the digital rectal examination? Is there a feeling of loss of masculinity? Such enquiry was guided by the hypothesis that yes, that would occur, once the binding of the ideal of masculinity to the anal non-rape were a traditional element in the formation of modern western man. This theoretical framework was based on three pillars: the body seen from the perspective of Anthropology, masculinity and human health and the formation of the person also from the perspective of Anthropology, by lighting the analysis of the collected data, taking as a key concept the notion of socialization dating back to the French Sociological School. Two types of data were collected: comic cartoons that bring up the digital rectal exam, plus interviews with men over 45 years old, collected in Mexico City and São Paulo. What was observed, from the responses, is that men look for preventive medical services, and about half of them take preventive prostate examinations, specifically digital rectal. I emphasize that this analysis led to similar conclusions for both São Paulo and Mexico City. A significant portion of the interviewees have expressed fears before the digital rectal exam, signaling against the ideal of masculinity culturally ingrained. Thus, the vast majority of interviewees used the expression \"have to do\" when mentioned the digital rectal exam. This indicates that the medical-rational speech overlapped the more traditional cultural elements, changing in a way the concept of male person. The initial hypothesis was partially refuted, since it was expected to find a general individual and social malaise manifested by men who undergo rectal exam. Refuted in part, because individually, men, Brazilians and Mexicans, not only were in favor of prevention and health promotion, but also make use of the available medical resources.
