Conception de systèmes multi-antennes multi-bandes pour terminaux mobiles LTE / Design of multi-bands multiple antennas systems for LTE mobile terminalsMouffok, Lila 22 February 2013 (has links)
Multiple antennas techniques are an interesting solution to increase throughput without increasing the bandwidth. This is an advantage in a context where the proliferation of users and services leads to a saturation of spectrum. However, the systems based on diversity raise new challenges for their integration into terminals. The work presented in this thesis is to consider jointly the performance of multi-antennas systems and integration into terminals constraints. Developed systems operate in two bands LTE: 790-862 MHz and 2.5-2.69 GHz, and cover also for some of them the upper part of the band TVWS (TVWhite Space): 700-790 MHz to provide cognitive radio applications. The first study is concentrated on designing an efficient system while maintaining a reasonable size. The proposed system is integrated into the terminals emerging in the market today such as mini-tablets, the tablet-phone hybrid or laptop. Very satisfactory performance in terms of bands and isolation are achieved. Aiming the size reduction, we propose an alternative compact system providing acceptable performances. For this purpose, three prototypes are proposed where the last could be integrated into a mobile phone. For all systems, we have evaluated the diversity performances in terms of correlation coefficient and Mean Effective Gain. It has been founded that the systems provide good diversity performances even if the terminal's position is changed during the communication. Moreover, the influence on the antennas performances with a presence of users is studied. The results show that these systems are suitable for LTE and can be used for MIMO wireless communications.

Arena Sports in Stereo Versus Binaural - Rating and Important AttributesAllansson, Rasmus January 2021 (has links)
Although a majority of the listening is done on headphones today, most, if not all, televised arena sports is still mixed for loudspeakers. By providing binaural audio for headphones listening, the qualities of surround sound could potentially be experienced on headphones. To find out if this holds true, 13 subjects with experience of critical listening agreed to perform a listening test where they were asked to rate four attributes of which preference is one. To the rating of preference, they also had to argue for their thinking. Lastly, further attributes and qualities was collected to find what attributes seem to be of greatest importance for rating of arena sports in binaural. The results show no statistical significance when comparing the ratings of the binaural and stereo mix for each attribute, and the sample group is clearly disagreeing what stimuli to rate the highest. The collection of qualitative data gave better results and could be summarized to seven attributes of which four appeared in the data from more than half of the test subject. With this result it is clear that more research is needed to find what the most important aspects of binaural mixing are, and how binaural audio best can be used for televised arena sports.

Hodnocení žáků 2. stupně základních škol v Ústeckém kraji a jejich postoj ke školní tělesné výchově / Assessment of the 2nd Grade Elementary School Pupils in Ústí nad Labem Region and Their Attitude Towards Physical EducationCihlář, David January 2017 (has links)
Title Assessment of the 2nd Grade Elementary School Pupils in Ústí nad Labem Region and Their Attitude Towards Physical Education Problem Researches and investigations from the recent years have been indicating a decline in a physical activity of children during their free time. This fact is also reflected in physical education lessons, especially at the level of their skills, fitness and performance, but also in their overall interest in this subject. Physical education teachers often solve a fundamental problem in their classes and that is a low motivation of pupils to move. One part of the learning process is also an evaluation where the teacher takes into consideration a number of factors. An objective consideration of all partial factors, for which a student can be evaluated during physical education lessons, into an overall grade is a very complex and difficult process for the teacher. This thesis deals with the assessment in physical education, particularly with an effort to identify those variables that have a significant impact on the overall grade in this school subject. We observe gender and age differences, the relationship of students to physical education, an active attitude to sport outside the school environment, family influence, but also the lifestyle of a student and also the...

”Hulahula-handboll – en fråga om kön?” : En kvalitativ studie om fyra sportkommentatorers kommentering i TV. / ”Hulahula-handball – a question about gender?” : A qualitative study regarding four sport casters’ commentary in TV.Melin, Andreas January 2022 (has links)
Aim The aim of the study was to investigate and analyse how men and women are described by sports casters during live broadcasting of sport from a gender perspective. The research questions for this study are as follows: How are men and women described by sport casters during live commentary of handball? What similarities or differences exist in sport casters live commentary of handball? Method Eight (8) handball games by four (4) different male sport casters, where each sports caster cast one male and female game, were transcribed and analysed from a discourse analysis perspective. Identified perspectives and discourses were categorised and sorted, thereafter analysed utilising a gender perspective. Results The results from the discourse analysis show that both differences and similarities exist regarding gender in live commentary. The coaches’ merits are presented in similar ways and advertising for both leagues are done in a similar manner. Differences lie in that the sport casters depict and describe men and women differently. Conclusion The results indicate that the differences found in how sport commentators describe and portray women and men mean that there is still work to be done to create a more equal arena for men and women to participate in with regards to sports. More research is needed in order to shed more light onto this area of research.

If This Is a "Real" Housewife, Who Are All These Women Around Me?: An Examination of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and the Persistence of Historically Stereotypical Images of Black Women in Popular Reality TelevisionBunai, Dominique Christabel 07 April 2014 (has links)
Stereotypical images of blacks have persisted throughout multiple forms of media for decades, with one of the most recent arenas being reality television programming. This study examines the Bravo Television network series The Real Housewives of Atlanta to consider the impact of reality television on the image of black women in America today. This increasingly popular show is the most viewed in The Real Housewives franchise, and demonstrates that black women in America do not embody any one historical or contemporary stereotype of black women in particular, but rather are a compilation of these stereotypes depending on the situation at hand. / Master of Science

Surviving Reality TV: The Evolution of Competition and Camaraderie in a Surveillant WorldChaple, Chloe January 2024 (has links)
Thesis advisor: Kristin Peterson / This thesis examines the behavioral evolution within the reality TV competition Survivor, which, in its forty-seventh season, has been on air since 2000. Focusing on the general attitudes and strategies of players, this research uses surveillance theory and the concept of learned behaviors as a framework for analysis. A Critical Content Analysis of three key seasons—the first, thirty-third, and forty-sixth—highlights shifts in dialogue, camaraderie, individuality, generational work ethic expectations, and the criteria for victory. The findings reveal that while the show has become outwardly emotional and vulnerable compared to its aggressive origins, player strategies have grown increasingly complex and covert. Under the guise of kindness and influenced by heightened surveillance, subliminal betrayals now outmaneuver overt confrontation. These dynamics manipulate audiences to perceive the gameplay as less competitive, when in reality, modern Survivor demands a more critical understanding of layered social strategies and the show's evolving competitive landscape. / Thesis (BA) — Boston College, 2024. / Submitted to: Boston College. The use of Digital Visual Effects in contemporary TV-series : An analysis of the use of digital visual effects as a narrative device in the television series Doctor Who, Defiance and Terra NovaEklund, Thorbjörn January 2014 (has links)
In this thesis the argument of a new visual language as a narrative device will be discussed and looked at, by analyzing four different TV-series in the science-fiction genre: Terra Nova 2011, Defiance 2013-, Doctor Who 1963 – 1989 and Doctor Who 2005-. It will be possible to see the use of digital visual effects as a narrator in the image. To do this one main question has been asked and to be able to answer that question a framework model has been created, consisting of seven different questions: How are DVFx used as a visual language in the TV-series? What key elements drive the TV-series forward? What influence did DVFx have on the TV-series? How is DVFx used in the series as a narrator? What does DVFx represent in the image? Could the series have been created without DVFx? Techno-enhancement, visual language or hybrid?

»I have work, and then I have a dinner thing. And then I am busy, trying to become who I am« : En kvalitativ studie om tv-seriers roll i identitesskapande med fokus på Hannah i Girls / »I have work, and then I have a dinner thing. And then I am busy, trying to become who I am« : A qualitative study of tv-series role in identity focusing on Hannah in Girls.Tolö, Sara, Wallén, Matilda January 2016 (has links)
Women in visual media are generally underrepresented and stereotypically portrayed. It is a very undifferentiated image, that few women can actually identify with. Norm-breaking characters can have an essential part and a positive influence on humans identity formation, research shows. The purpose of this study is to examine eight women’s stories about how television shows had an impact on their identity formation, primarily focusing on Hannah from the very popular tv-series Girls. Hannah has been described as a plain and slightly overweight heroine, not suited for modern television. The study is built on a qualitative science-method through semi-structured interviews, with subjective stories as focal point. The selection of interviewees identify themselves as women and have seen Girls. The study shows that Hannah works as a role model by inspiring the interviewees to acknowledge and accept their self-view, in addition to increasing their bravery and place amongst other people. Thenceforth, they felt that there was a small representation of strong female characters on modern television and saw a necessity for Hannah in popular culture.
