[en] GROUND VEHICLES SUSPENSION AND STEERING MECHANISMS MODELING AND INTEGRATION THROUGH POWER FLOW / [pt] MODELAGEM E INTEGRAÇÃO DOS MECANISMOS DE SUSPENSÃO E DIREÇÃO DE VEÍCULOS TERRESTRES ATRAVÉS DO FLUXO DE POTÊNCIARICARDO TEIXEIRA DA COSTA NETO 27 October 2008 (has links)
A abordagem modular
diversos elementos. Este trabalho apresenta um procedimento
semi-analítico de
equacionamento modular aplicado à modelagem e integração
dos sistemas de
suspensão e direção de veículos terrestres, no qual as
sistemas multicorpos. A
analisado, e
informações necessárias aos seus projetos determinadas. As
equações (malhas)
algébricas que existem em mecanismos com estrutura
cinemática fechada são
analiticamente resolvidas, evitando deste modo modelos
matemáticos com
equações diferenciais e algébricas simultâneas. Das
relações cinemáticas, o
modelo dinâmico (matrizes de inércia, rigidez e
amortecimento, etc) é obtido, e
novamente informações essenciais à análise e síntese dos
sistemas podem ser
determinadas.
componentes do
sistema.
representá-los. / [en] The sub-division of a vehicle in modules is very useful
when we want to
study the dynamical behavior of a certain sub-system and
its influence in other
components. In some cases, due to the type of treatment
employed to describe the
dynamic behavior of the elements, we don`t get to notice
the way that inherent
variables in a sub-system interacts with the others, and,
consequently, the subsystems
amongst themselves. The modular approach based on the power
flow
allows a better identification of the causal relationships
among sub-systems, once
it can define, in clear and consistent way, what are the
input and output variables
of each component or module, and, consequently, their
couplings. In this type of
treatment applied to the mechanical systems, once
established the kinematics of a
sub-system, it can be obtained the relationships among the
efforts that their
components produce on the other ones, from the
characterization of the power
transmitted through their several elements. This paper
presents a semi-analytical
procedure of modular modeling applied to the suspension and
steering systems of
a ground vehicle, in which the input and output variables
indicate the power flow
among the elements of the whole system. Such approach has
as base the Bond
Graphs technique, used in multidomain systems in general,
and uses some
concepts of the Kinematic Transformers methodology, usually
applied to the
multibody systems. From the mechanisms geometry, the
matrices that represent
the kinematics links between its elements are found, the
operation of the
integrated systems can be simulated and analyzed, and
information about its
design can be obtained. The algebraic loops (equations)
inherent to mechanisms
with closed kinematic structure are solved analytically,
and there is not a
mathematical model with simultaneous algebraic and
differential equations. From
the kinematic relations, the dynamic model (inertial,
stiffness and damping
matrices) is obtained, and again essential information to
the systems analysis and
synthesis can be determined. The models time behavior can
be found by any
differential equations integration method. The
Simulink/Matlab is adopted to
represent the model developed by block diagrams, and
consequently to simulate it.
Through this treatment, each block in the Simulink/Matlab
implementation
contains the correspondent analytical model of a single
module, whose
establishment depends on the dynamic characteristics of the
system to be
analyzed. The advantage of adopting such representation,
based on the power
flow, consists in the fact that a module can be substituted
for other, descriptive of
an element or sub-system with the same function, however
with different physical
configuration, and, consequently, specific mathematical
model, without any
alteration in the other components of the system. This
procedure is being adopted
for modeling all vehicular systems, like the suspension,
steering, transmission and
brakes systems, and also the tires, inserted in the
chassis, including the desired
degrees of freedom of the vehicle, all described in a semi-
analytical modular way
by the same approach, using the most appropriate modeling
technique to represent
them.

[en] DYNAMICS AND CONTROL OF PARALLEL MECHANISMS: CLOSED ANALYTICAL MODEL, INERTIAL TRANSDUCERS AND LINEAR ELECTRIC ACTUATORS INTEGRATION / [pt] DINÂMICA E CONTROLE DE MECANISMOS PARALELOS: INTEGRAÇÃO MODELO ANALÍTICO FECHADO, TRANSDUTORES INERCIAIS E ATUADORES ELÉTRICOS LINEARESALLAN NOGUEIRA DE ALBUQUERQUE 08 August 2017 (has links)
[en] Mechanisms are essentially (but not exclusively) made up of multiple rigid bodies that have relative motion between themselves. Each rigid body is connected through a joint to one or more bodies, wherein the sequence of connected bodies is called kinematic chain. Open (or serial) kinematic chains have no restrictions on one of their ends, as closed (or parallel) chains have restrictions on both ends. The focus in this work will be given on the study of mechanisms with closed kinematic chains or parallel mechanisms. Thus, this work presents the analytical form determination of the dynamic model of a parallel planar
mechanism with three degrees of freedom through the characterization of the power flow between its components. From the geometrical relations associated to the displacement of their degrees of freedom, the kinematic relations associated to their speeds are determined. Considering the power flow between the degrees of freedom, and also between these and the actuating elements (linear electric actuators) the equilibrium relations of the forces and torques are obtained. Accounting for inertial effects of system components, the stiffness and damping effects, the equations of motion or the state equations are analytically determined and represented in any reference frame, local or global. Besides, the relation
between the inverse kinematics and the direct dynamics is presented. This approach adopts the same fundamentals, concepts and elements of the Bond Graph Technique, with its symbolic notation and graphical representation. The proposed methodology is generalized and applicable in any type of mechanism (open or closed, planar or spatial). The inverse kinematic model of the closed chain mechanism, which has easy solution when compared to the direct model, can be developed by any known methodology. In this work, the vector loop technique is used to determine the inverse geometric model, and with its derivation, the kinematic relations are obtained, and therefore the inverse Jacobian
matrix. Thereby, the inverse kinematics bond graph is built and, from the cause and effect relations, the direct dynamic model of the mechanism is found. Thus, this methodology (bond graphs or power flow) is more efficient and secure to achieve the dynamic analytical (closed) models of parallel mechanisms. A set of simulations are performed to validate this approach, using the real data (geometry, inertia, damping, actuators forces, etc.) from a planar mechanism designed and built especially for the purpose to compare the simulated and experimental results. A closed-loop control strategy using the inverse kinematic and the direct dynamic models is proposed. Finally, experimental tests validate this strategy. The analytical equations lead to a more efficient simulation process and real-time control of these systems.

[en] PRICING THE ANCILLARY SERVICES OF REACTIVE POWER SUPPLY AND GENERATION RESERVE WHEN PROVIDED BY GENERATORS / [pt] REMUNERAÇÃO DOS SERVIÇOS ANCILARES DE SUPORTE DE POTÊNCIA REATIVA E RESERVA DE POTÊNCIA QUANDO PROVIDOS POR GERADORESPABLO MOTTA RIBEIRO 04 August 2005 (has links)
A remuneração
Cooperativos. A aplicação deste método garante que a
repartição do benefício
eficiente. As metodologias
distintos: o sistema
IEEE-RTS e o sistema Sul-Sudeste Brasileiro. Os resultados
obtidos são
discutidos e a eficácia da metodologia é analisada. / [en] This work presents methodologies to define the remuneration
of the
generators that provide ancillary services to the power
system as a function of
the benefit provided to the system. In this work the
ancillary services considered
are the reactive power supply and the generation reserve.
To the ancillary service
of reactive power supply, the benefit provided by the
generators is calculated by
the avoided cost of new reactive power sources. The benefit
provided by the
ancillary service of generation reserve is calculated as
the reduction on the
expected energy not supplied, multiplied by the
interruption cost of the power
system. An optimum power flow is used to determine the
benefit provided by
each ancillary service. The remuneration of each generator
is defined through the
cost allocation method of Aumann-Shapley, which belongs to
the Cooperative
Game Theory. The Aumann-Shapley method guarantees that the
payment
partition among the generators is fair and efficient. The
proposed methodology is
applied to the IEEE-RTS power system and the Brazilian
South-Southwest power
system. The numerical results are discussed and the
efficiency of the
methodology is analyzed.

[en] NUMERICAL MODELLING OF TWO-PHASE FLOW AND CONTAMINANT TRANSPORT IN HETEROGENEOUS MEDIA / [pt] MODELAGEM NUMÉRICA DE FLUXO BIFÁSICO E TRANSPORTE DE CONTAMINANTES EM MEIOS POROSOSFABRICIO FERNANDEZ 18 April 2018 (has links)
convencionais (EF). / [en] The objective of this work is to contribute to the understanding of the mechanisms involved in the gravity migration of organic compounds, called DNAPLs, when they are released in a porous media and in a fractured porous media, and to contribute to the development of effective technologies mainly oriented to the location and remediation of contaminated underground system. Firstly, some basic concepts are presented, especially those involved in the mathematical models that describe the two-phase flow in porous media, the conceptual models, the mathematical models, as well as the numerical models. Secondly, the mathematical equations that govern the phenomena under study are developed and the solutions to the governing equations from computational techniques and numerical integration schemes are presented. The biphasic flow equations are solved using mixed and hybridized finite element techniques (EFHM) and discontinuous finite element (GD), and the contaminant transport equations are solved by the conventional technique of finite element (FE). Then, some problems are numerically evaluated in 1D and 2D, such as transport of contaminants with and without mass transfer, two-phase flow problems in 2D, and attached problems involving both biphasic flow and contaminant transport with mass transfer. Finally, the conclusions of this thesis as well as the suggestions for future works are presented.

ambientais e a crescente sensibilidade ecológica, com a
propagação do conceito do desenvolvimento sustentável e
final. Este trabalho pretende apresentar, em linhas
gerais, a logística reversa relacionada à reciclagem de
resíduos plásticos. Para isso, foi diagnosticado o canal
reverso de distribuição da reciclagem dos resíduos
plásticos de Poliestireno e Polietileno Tereftalato,
analisando oito empresas integrantes deste canal no
[en] The accelerated technological development produces an
early obsolescence of the products. With the increase the
number of products with its useful life progressively
smaller, the number of generated residues grows bringing
to the exhaustion the capacity of the tradicional systems
of disposition of residues. Given this scenario,
alternatives are studied for the final destination of the
goods, in order to minimize the resulting environmental
impact. In addition, the legislations concerned with
environmental subjects, the growing ecological sensibility
with the sustainable development and the new beginnings of
environmental protection (like EPR - Extended Product
Responsability) are requiring reduced environment impacts.
In this context, Reverse Logistics is developing processes
to direct the goods back to production, whenever possible,
or to final destination. This work intends to present in
general lines the reverse logistics related to recycling
plastics residues. This work has diagnosed the reverse
distribution channel in the recycling of plastic residues
of Polystyrene and Polyethylene Terephthalate. Eight
companies located in the State of Rio de Janeiro which
operate in this channel have been chosen for interviewing.
In addition, two other companies have been included in the
research, one located in the State of São Paulo, and
recycling PET, was evaluated through the Internet, and
another operating with a new type of automatic collection
was evaluated through published reports.

[pt] APLICAÇÕES DO MÉTODO DA ENTROPIA CRUZADA EM ESTIMAÇÃO DE RISCO E OTIMIZAÇÃO DE CONTRATO DE MONTANTE DE USO DO SISTEMA DE TRANSMISSÃO / [en] CROSS-ENTROPY METHOD APPLICATIONS TO RISK ESTIMATE AND OPTIMIZATION OF AMOUNT OF TRANSMISSION SYSTEM USAGE23 November 2021 (has links)
necessária do sistema interligado. No Brasil, elas realizam anualmente o processo
O MUST é
[en] Local power distribution companies are not self-sufficient in electricity
to serve their customers, and require importing additional energy supply from
the interconnected bulk power systems. In Brazil, they annually carry out the
contracting process for the amount of transmission system usage (ATSU) for
the next four years. This process is a real example of a task that involves
decisions under uncertainty with a high impact on the productivity of the
distributions companies and on the electricity sector in general. The task
becomes even more complex in face of the increasing variability associated with
the generation of renewable energy and the changing profile of the consumer.
The ATSU is a random variable, and being able to understand its variability
is crucial for better decision making. Probabilistic power flow is a technique
that maps the uncertainties of nodal injections and network configuration in
the transmission equipment and, consequently, in the imported power at each
connection point with the bulk power system. In this thesis, the main objective
is to develop methodologies based on probabilistic power flow via Monte Carlo
simulation, together with cross entropy techniques, to assess the risks involved
in the optimal contracting of the ATSU. The proposed approaches allow the
inclusion of commercial software to deal with the power flow algorithm, which is
relevant for large practical systems. Thus, a realistic computational tool that
serves the engineers of electric distribution companies is presented. Results with academic and real systems show that the proposals fulfill the objectives set, with the benefits of reducing the total costs in the optimization process of contracts and computational times involved in the risk assessments.

[en] IDENTIFICATION OF CRITICAL BUSES FROM THE VOLTAGE STABILITY VIEWPOINT / [pt] IDENTIFICAÇÃO DAS BARRAS CRÍTICAS DO PONTO DE VISTA DE ESTABILIDADE DE TENSÃO02 May 2016 (has links)
[en] The rise of voltage stability phenomenon in the operation of the electrical systems motivated hundreds of researchers to develop methods that allow them to detect the proximity to voltage instability, with computational efficiency, and take the right steps to ensure reliable and safe operation. This work used and compared different methods associated with the voltage stability analysis. For the tests were used various systems under different levels of loading, from light load to maximum load, this point obtained from the continuous power flow algorithm. The goal is to find the critical buses, that is, those at which the power injection cannot be increased and that avoid the growth of load in the rest of the system.

[pt] DEGRADAÇÃO MECÂNICA DE SOLUÇÕES POLIMÉRICAS EM FLUXO LAMINAR EXTENSIONAL / [en] MECHANICAL DEGRADATION OF POLYMER SOLUTIONS IN EXTENSIONAL LAMINAR FLOWLUA SELENE DA SILVA ALMEIDA 28 June 2021 (has links)
as injeções subsequentes.
[en] Due to their physical-chemical behavior, water-soluble polymers are used
extensively in various phases of drilling, completion, workover, and production of
oil and gas wells. Therefore, it is fundamental to predict and to control in-situ
porous medium behavior in order to understand polymer performance. Experiments
were conducted to study the degradation of a semi diluted (2000 ppm) aqueous
solution of PEO, using two capillaries with different entrance diameter (100 micrometers
and 200 micrometers) both with 50 micrometers radius constriction, creating Fast-Transient Flows in their center. Different injection rates were imposed in order to observe different
shear and extensional rates in the system. The effluent of the flow was collected,
and reinjected, and rheological properties of the fluids were used as proxies for the
degradation of the solution. We observed that for the more abrupt contraction, the
minimum flow rate needed for degrading the polymer solution is lower. This result,
when analyzed purely under shear rate perspective, is not reasonable, since the
constriction shear rates to which the polymer is subjected are equal at both
capillaries. Therefore, we inferred that the abruptness of the contraction plays a
role in the degradation, which means elongational rate may be responsible for the
lower critical flow rate. It was also observed a pattern for how the degradation
occurs with subsequent injections. We could infer that subsequent injections cause
incremental degradation before approaching a stabilization plateau and that higher
flow rates generated lower degradation plateaus.
