Landschaft und Archäologie im virtuellen 3D-Modell Beispiel „Ethno-Nature Park Uch-Enmek“ (Altai, Russland)

Schmid, Marcel 04 January 2012 (has links) (PDF)
Within the scope of this diploma thesis, a three-dimensional landscape model of a part of a region located in the nature park „Uch-Enmek“ (situated within the Altai Republic), was generated in cooperation with the Institut for Cartography of Dresden University of Technology and archaeologists of the University of Ghent in Belgium. The area of interest contains the most important and well-known burial mounds, that origin back to Scythian history. Aim of the thesis is to increase the degree of popularity and the awareness for this cultural heritage. In this case, important geodata were collected within a geo-informationsystem, with respect to characteristic geoelements of a landscape. The geodata were replenished and improved around the archaeological excavation and built up to a digital landscape model. The conversion to a three-dimensional landscape model by adding three-dimensional objects, like buildings and trees, was executed with the help of a professional 3D-software. To visualize the final product, static images and an animation were generated as results out of the 3D-model. Prospectively, the achievement can be used to establish an internet presentation of the nature park.

Chirurgie endovasculaire virtuelle pour patient-spécifique : Application au traitement de l'anévrisme de l'aorte thoracique / Patient-specific virtual endovascular surgery : Application to the Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR)

Menut, Marine 08 June 2017 (has links)
Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death worldwide. Their analysis leads to multidisciplinary problems that require diversity, transversal and complementary approaches. This contribution is part of a research project in Computer Aided Surgery and intends to contribute to the improvement of TEVAR procedures in terms of accuracy and optimization of the operating strategy. In this study, stereocorrelation technique is used to measure the strain field under a human aortic arch in order to identify its mechanical behaviour. Blood flow simulations in the thoracic aorta were then carried out for a healthy patient using the open source OpenFOAM software. A rheological model derived from polymer rheology, considers viscous, shear thinning and other stress overshoot behaviours. In parallel and in anticipation of the complete modeling of the surgical procedure, numerical calculations ofthe rise of the surgical tools in the thoracic aorta were carried out based on previous work in the laboratory regarding the abdominal aorta. This study aims to virtually simulate the whole endovascular stent graft procedure for an aortic aneurysm. This procedure has a high rate of short-term success and its indication compared to open surgery is increasing. Despite many benefits such as reduced blood loss and reduced recovery time, the hindsight is insufficient and there are limitations related to complex anatomical configurations. This procedure therefore needs to be more reliable and secure. In this context, it is important to identify the mechanical behavior of the aorta for further numerical simulations.

Levantamento GPR 4D sobre um derrame de óleo usado em transformadores de energia elétrica: um estudo controlado em laboratório / GPR 4D aquisition over a spill of oil used in eletrical energy tranformers : A controlled laboratory study.

Luciana Bertolla 11 May 2012 (has links)
In this work a 4D GPR survey was accomplished in a laboratory in which a oil leak from a ETD Estação de Transmissão e Distribuição of electric energy was simulated. The studies consisted in an oil spill (15 liters) in three different experiments: i) tank containing dry sand, ii) tank containing wet sand with a hydraulic gradient and iii) tank containing wet sand. In all experiments the objective was detect the contamination plume and evaluate the migration of the oil with the time. The 4D GPR data was acquired using a shielded antenna of 400 MHz model SIR-3000 of the GSSI equipment. The time monitoring of the data acquisition ranged from 2 minutes up to 12 days. In the experiment-1 with the tank filled with dry sand wasnt possible to determine the plume contamination due to the low contrast of the physical properties between the environment and the plume. In the experiment-2 where the tank filled with the dry sand in the presence of a hydraulic gradient, was possible to determine the migration of the plume from the fifth day. Finally, the experiment-3 where the tank was filled with wet sand wasnt possible to identify the plume, due to the low contrast between the physical properties. This research also conducted 2D numerical modeling using the FDTD method, where the three experiments were simulated, considering intermediary positions of the contamination plume with respect with time. The results of the modeling were consistent with the results obtained with real data and helped to define a pattern of reflection of the contamination plume. The promising results indicate that the effective determination of the contaminating plume of oil in an ETD is possible provided that the environment be saturated with water. Therefore, to guarantee the success of researches with GPR for mapping and delineation of contamination plumes in ETDs its recommended that the data acquisition be realized in the rainy season.

Aplicação de modelagem molecular e de formalismo do CAMD (Computer-Aided Molecular Design) na elucidação do mecanismo de ação de inibidores de metalopropteinases de matriz / Molecular modeling methods and computer-aided molecular design (CAMD) formalisms for elucidating the mechanism of action of matrix metalloproteinases inhibitors

Kely Medeiros Turra 27 March 2015 (has links)
Matrix metalloproteinases (MMP) enzymes are overexpressed in almost all human tumors, and MMP-2 and MMP-9 subtypes have been associated with metastatic potential and poor prognosis in malignant tumors, such as metastatic melanoma and glioma. Compounds capable of inhibiting the activity of theses enzymes would be considered as potential therapeutic agents. The 4-nerolidylcatechol compound (4-NC), isolated from plants of genus Pothomorphe, has showed promising results in the treatment of melanoma and glioma, and was able to act in several important biochemical steps involved in the progression of these diseases, as well as inhibiting MMP-2 and MMP-9. However, the 4-NC mechanism of action is not completely understood. This study has involved the application of molecular modeling methods and formalisms of computer-aided molecular design (CAMD) in order to explore the interaction between 4-NC and MMP-2/MMP-9, and to design new inhibitors for these targets. Exploratory data analysis, which comprises hierarchical cluster analysis and principal components analysis, was performed to a set of hydroxamates (N=64). previously reported as MMP-2 and MMP-9 inhibitors, in order lo identify the molecular properties that is most critical for the discrimination process regarding the investigated compounds. The thermodynamic, electronic, and steric properties were: quite important to describe the highly active compounds in the data set of MMP-2, whereas the apparent partition coefficient (ClogD) at pH 1.5 was the property more relevant for MMP-9 data set. The presence of bulky substituents on the R3 moiety seems to be crucial for this set of inhibitors due to the molecular interaction with the S1 subsite of both enzymes. However, there is a limit regarding the substituents volume in this region. Receptor independent (RI) 4D-QSAR analysis was applied lo the same data set and it was possible to establish the pharmacophore mapping, besides to explore different alignments in order to generate the hypothesized bioactive conformation through the best QSAR model. The QSAR models have presented good predictability, assisted in proposing new inhibitors, and estimated the activity of 4-NC. Regarding the best QSAR model for MMP-9 (N=64), the 4-NC predicted activity was classified in the range of the moderate active inhibitors. The best QSAR model obtained for MMP-2 (N=38), however was not able to properly predict the activity for compounds with different chemical scaffold from those used to build up the QSAR model. Molecular docking studies have been developed to investigate the 4-NC binding mode into the catalytic site of the two enzymes and the interactions that could be established in those complexes. The results have shown two favorable conformers regarding the MMP inhibition. Molecular dynamics computational simulation were combined to molecular docking studies in order to obtain more detailed and reliable information regarding the intermolecular interactions of each complex. The 4-NC molecule tends to accommodate the side chain in the S1 pocket adjacent to the catalytic site in both enzymes. Experimental zymography assays were also performed to elucidate the possible contribution of the side chain and the catechol core in the 4-NC inhibitory activity against the MMP-2 and MMP-9 enzymes. The catechol core seems to be responsible for its activity, since the 1,2 dimethoxybenzene compound, which has the hydroxyl blocked by a methyl group, was not able to exert any significant inhibition on enzymes. Voltametric assays confirmed the hypothesis that 4-NC chelates zinc ions present in the incubation buffer.

BIM-projektering med fokus på tidplanering - 4D projektering med Vico Office från Peabs projekt Bottenhavet / BIM-planning with focus on scheduling

Löfgren, Jakob January 2015 (has links)
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a relatively new method of working in the construction industry that more and more companies embrace in various projects. With the help of BIM project work efficiency can be increased at an early stage. For example, I can perform collision checks in the created 3D models of the various players already in the planning phase, this can help avoiding problems when the construction work has started. BIM process consists of three parts. They are called 3D, 4D and 5D and include 3D visualization, scheduling and costing. In this report the focus is mostly on time planning phase to provide a picture of how the work could be better if the BIM was used to planning and its obstacles in the development of the use of BIM. To get an idea of how the planning was carried out as a comparison of the Gantt planning and Flowline planning was made. BIM Byggnadsinformationsmodellering BIM-användning hos de olika aktörerna / Building Information Modelling (BIM), and BIM in use by the variousactors

AL-Hindi, Rafah, Yousef, Yousef January 2017 (has links)
Clarus Arkitekter as design companies often receive orders from contractors and clients asking for a BIM model. In most cases, the BIM model is not fully used, but 3D drawings or 2D drawings are available. Then asks the question "Does the client / contractor have the correct understanding of what BIM is?" Different players have different guidelines and requirements that the projector should follow, which can be perceived as defective by the projector just to know what is demanded from each client. The question the thesis will answer is "How should the consultant do the best to offer the right service and what goals the consultant will do. The purpose of this master thesis is to find out how BIM usage could facilitate the work as well as the communication between the various actors who is involved in a construction project. To investigate how the level of competence lies with the Client, Entrepreneur and Projectors / Architects and answerthe question "what is behind the skill difference that exists?". The work began with literature studies for the collection and compilation of information. Questions will be set up to later use them during interviews with different people from different companies. The interviews will take place with individuals from consultancy, contractor and client company. The interest in using BIM is high in the industry, but unfortunately there is a great deal of skills shortage. Customers and entrepreneurs plan to start using BIM more, which will happen in the coming years, but now, they do not want to take new risks and prefer to use traditional methods that are more secure. To be able to apply BIM more in the construction industry, more knowledge is needed.

Apport de la modélisation 3D et de la restauration structurale dans la compréhension des gisements de matières premières minérales / Ore-deposits modeling and improving their understanding with structural restoration

Mejía-Herrera, Pablo-Eliécer 16 December 2014 (has links)
The objective of this Ph.D. thesis is to apply 3D and 4D modeling methods to reconstruct the architecture and deformations over time of geological entities in a defined region. Structural restoration modeling is used here to estimate geological, physical and structural attributes for understanding the origin of ore-deposits, and for identifying potential mineralized areas. We focused this thesis on 3D and 4D modeling on real case studies with different geological contexts (e.g. uplifting, fault activity and shortening), demonstrating the advantages and drawbacks on their use for similar situations. This thesis is organized into three parts: (i) the application of structural modeling in the mining district of the Copper Belt of Legnica-Glogów (south-west Poland). A surface-restoration approach was applied to estimate favorable conditions for hydraulic fracturing during an inversion, occurred in the northern part of Europe at Late Cretaceous--Early Paleocene. In our hypothesis, hydraulic fracturing developed at that time played an important role in the distribution of copper content observed in present days in the mining district. (ii) The curvature calculated on triangulated surfaces that represent the stratigraphic horizons in the Fore-Sudetic region (Poland), are used to highlight the fault systems in the basement as well as their activity. High curvature values reveal the fault activity which is associated with the copper mineralization process in the region. (iii) Mechanical restoration of the Mount Pleasant, Western Australia, simulates an Archean shortening event which occurred in the area linked to the gold mineralization process. The mechanical restoration was used to estimate the strain field in the region at the time of shortening. This deformation field was used to estimate the damage parameters of the rock mass. They show new potential gold areas located in off-fault gold systems. In conclusion, it is shown that 3D modeling and structural restoration could be used to identify potential favorable zones for the presence of mineralization, and seem promising as a tool for the exploration of ore-deposits and mineral resources
