The importance of experience in relation to intellectual work has been of growing interest within historical research, as it focuses on the subjective, biographical, and thus historical conditions preceding any claim to abstract or objective knowledge. This paper explores the connection between experience and intellectual thought in relation to the Swiss psychologist Carl Gustav Jung (1875–1961), primarily through an examination of his autobiography. The analysis shows that experience was essential to Jung in several ways, and that he struggled with it as an intellectual, epistemological, and personal problem. His encounters with Kant, Nietzsche and Freud were especially formative in this regard, as they brought him theoretical and practical insights into the limits of communicable knowledge. Mystical experiences, beginning from hischildhood, gave rise to a dichotomy between the inner and the outer world, and with it a deep sense of solitude, which remained important throughout his life and work. The sense of being outside of his time informed his psychological conceptions of “the shadow”, individuation and the collective unconscious. However, Jung’s struggle to lend credibility to his experiences resulted not so much in recognized scientific knowledge as in what Nietzsche once called a “personal confession”.

Daar is bevind dat die erotiese aspekte van die konraseksuele komplekse by voorkeur in die bestudeerde advertensies aangewend is en dat deelnemers daarop gelet het. SUMMARY The purpose of this study was to investigate a style of advertising from the perspective of the Analytical Psychology. The style involves the depiction of a young man and woman in a state of interaction with one another. In an attempt to understand how the viewer experiences this, concepts from the Analytical Psychology of C.G. Jung were used. Jung claimed that the psyche contains constructs which he termed archetypes. Archetypes are ideas and predispositions, organisms are born possessing these. If the theory is correct, it can be assumed that these constructs will influence human behaviour. The archetypes responsible for initiating heterosexual interest are called the anima and the animus. The prevalence of different aspects of these in four television commercials as experienced by participants during interviews was studied by means of content analysis. Sexual manifestations were found to be the most prominently used aspects of the anima and the animus to market the advertised products. / PSYCHOLOGY / MA(SS) (PSYCHOLOGY)

O presente trabalho busca traçar um panorama da categoria corpo na sociedade ocidental, apontando suas sombras e seus escapes e estabelecendo o campo da psicologia analítica como um lugar de reimaginação e ressignificação deste termo. Nossos objetivos principais foram traçar uma cartografia do estatuto do corpo na modernidade, compreender como este termo aparece nas obras junguianas e propor que o corpo, nas práticas derivadas deste referencial, se coloca como corpo simbólico e gestual, numa performance clínica que aponta para a multiplicidade dionisíaca como forma de conhecimento e ação e que abre a perspectiva de transformações alquímicas tanto singulares quanto coletivas para os participantes de uma cena / The present work seeks to draw a panorama of the body category in Western society, pointing out its shadows and its escapes and establishing the field of analytical psychology as a place of reimagination and re-signification of this term. Our main objectives were to map the status of the body in modernity, to understand how this term appears in the Jungian works and to propose that the body, in the practices derived from this referential, places itself as a symbolic and gestural body, in a clinical performance that points to multiplicity Dionysian as a form of knowledge and action and that opens the perspective of alchemical transformations both singular and collective for the participants of a scene

Esta pesquisa se insere no âmbito dos estudos sobre as relações familiares, enfocando mais especificamente a conjugalidade da maneira como é vivida nos tempos atuais. Trata-se de um tema complexo, já que os arranjos e dinâmicas de interação nos casamentos vêm se transformando e ganharam nas últimas décadas diversidade e liberdade muito maiores quando comparadas aos padrões antigos. O ponto de partida que motivou esta pesquisa foi a ideia de que a conjugalidade permanece como uma experiência viva e significativa para o homem e a mulher nos dias de hoje. Para tentar compreender um pouco mais dessa experiência em sua condição atual, tomou-se neste trabalho a origem etimológica de palavras como casamento e casal, que aproxima tais fenômenos de outra importante experiência humana que é a casa. A ideia foi a de que, ao remontar a essa origem comum, fosse possível observar o que ainda hoje se mantém vivo na experiência da conjugalidade, ancorado em substratos profundos da psique inconsciente, e o que são manifestações suscetíveis a mudanças de acordo com o contexto sociocultural das diferentes épocas. O objetivo do presente trabalho consistiu, então, em observar como ocorre a construção da conjugalidade nos dias de hoje sua riqueza e seus desafios , tomando para isso os símbolos que emergem na constituição dos espaços da casa como expressões de aspectos psíquicos mobilizados na relação conjugal contemporânea, além de levantar as possibilidades de mudança da consciência que tais símbolos representam. O presente estudo teve como referência teórica principal a psicologia analítica de Jung, mas buscou também contribuições de áreas de interface, como a Sociologia, a Antropologia, a História, a Arte, a Filosofia e a Arquitetura. O método consistiu no estudo de caso de um casal formado por um homem e uma mulher de menos de 30 anos, sem filhos e morando juntos em função de casamento formal. Foram feitos oito encontros, incluindo uma visita à casa do casal, nos quais se realizaram entrevistas abertas, produção de material fotográfico e atividades com técnicas expressivas, como a escrita, o desenho e a pintura, tendo como tema a relação conjugal e a casa. O material levantado foi analisado também com base no processamento simbólico-arquetípico, que, fundamentado nos referenciais indicados por Jung, tem como um de seus eixos principais a ideia de que o símbolo é o fenômeno psíquico que melhor expressa fatos relativamente desconhecidos, permitindo, assim, uma ampliação da consciência e algum acesso a conteúdos inconscientes, os quais estão na base das experiências humanas em geral e muito especialmente nos vínculos afetivos. Espera-se que esta aproximação ao tema contribua para uma compreensão aberta, flexível e atualizada das configurações dos relacionamentos contemporâneos e possa trazer aprofundamentos significativos para o trabalho com tais questões, que são centrais no contexto da pesquisa e da prática em psicologia / The present work belongs in the scope of family relationships studies, here focusing conjugality in the way it is currently experienced. This is a complex issue, since the structures and interaction dynamics in marriages have been transformed and gained, in recent decades, much greater diversity and freedom when compared to old patterns. The starting point motivating this research was the idea that conjugality remains as a living and meaningful experience for both men and women these days. In order to try and understand a little more about this experience in its current condition, this work embraced the etymological origin of words such as marriage and couple (casamento and casal in Portuguese), which approach these phenomena to another important human experience that is home (casa in Portuguese). The idea was that, at going back to this common origin, it would be possible to observe what aspects of the experience of conjugality remains alive, anchored in deep unconscious psyche substrates, and what manifestations susceptible to changes according to the sociocultural context in different times are. The aim here was, then, observe how the construction of conjugality happens nowadays its wealth and its challenges taking to it the symbols that emerge in the constitution of spaces in the house as expressions of psychic aspects mobilized in a contemporary marital relationship, as well as raising the possibilities of awakening that such symbols represent. The present study had Jungs analytical psychology as theoretical reference, but it also sought for contributions from interface areas such as sociology, anthropology, history, art, philosophy, and architecture. The method consisted in the case study of a couple formed by a man and a woman under 30 years old, with no children and living together due to a formal marriage. Eight meetings were held, including a visit to the couples house, in which open interviews were conducted, along with photographic material production and activities involving expressive techniques such as writing, drawing and painting, having as theme the marital relationship and the house. The collected material was analyzed based on symbolic-archetypal processing, which, based on the principles referred by Jung, has as one of its main axes the idea that the symbol is the psychic phenomenon which best expresses relatively unknown facts. This thus allows an expansion of consciousness and some access to unconscious content, which are at the basis of human experience in general, and especially in affective bonds. It is expected that this approach to the subject contributes to an open, flexible and up-to-date understanding of contemporary relationships configurations and may bring significant insights to the work with such issues, which are central in the research context and practice in psychology

O objetivo deste estudo é mostrar como se dá o processo de individuação das personagens de Guimarães Rosa, nos contos Substância, Estória Nº3, A estória do homem do pinguelo, Um moço muito branco, As margens da alegria, Os cimos, A terceira margem do rio, e na novela A estória de Lélio e Lina, sob a perspectiva junguiana. Segundo o psicólogo, o embate com o outro, a relação de alteridade, é condição fundamental para a maturação psicológica do indivíduo. Somente através do confronto com o não-eu, o sujeito pode lograr atingir o seu si-mesmo, ou seja, atingir a máxima expressão de suas potencialidades inerentes. Demonstrarei como, nas narrativas citadas, a relação muitas vezes problemática entre opostos é a via de superação dos problemas existenciais vivenciados pelas personagens. / The aim of this study is to show how is the process of individuation of the characters of Guimarães Rosa, in the stories Substância, Estória Nº3, A estória do homem do pinguelo, Um moço muito branco, As margens da alegria, Os cimos, A estória de Lélio e Lina and \"A terceira margem do rio,\" under the junguian perspective. According to the psychologist, the encounter with the other, the relationship of otherness, is a fundamental condition for the individual\'s psychological maturation. Only by confronting the not-self, the subject can successfully achieving the selbst, the highest expression of their inherent potential. I will demonstrate how, in the stories cited, the often problematic relationship between opposites, is the way to overcome the existential problems experienced by the characters.

Because of forgiveness be extremely tied to religion, it is fundamental to understand it, primarily, within the religious context, then, explore how it was experienced in psychic terms. With the aid of Symbolic Jungian Psychology, it is possible understand how the development of Judeo-Christian religion was understood and lived symbolically in our society and how patterns of consciousness prevailing influence not only the experience of forgiveness, but also its opposite pole, revenge. From this foundation, a sense of forgiveness was sought in the process of individuation, raising the chances that it can paralyze the process, when living in a superficial way, or make it easier, when experienced in a genuine way. Another aspect discussed was the importance of forgiveness in the analytical process. Finally, in order to illustrate the theoretical work here developed, the film Invictus, by director Clint Eastwood, was analyzed, since it discusses the polarity revenge-forgiveness in both personal and cultural aspects / O presente estudo visa compreender, à luz da Psicologia Analítica, a função do perdão na psique. Pelo fato de o perdão estar extremamente vinculado à religião, considera-se fundamental entendê-lo, primeiramente, dentro do contexto religioso, para depois, explorar o modo como foi vivenciado em termos psíquicos. Com o auxílio da Psicologia Simbólica Junguiana, foi possível apreender como o desenvolvimento da religião judaico-cristã foi compreendido e vivido simbolicamente em nossa sociedade e como os padrões de consciência vigente influenciaram na experiência não só do perdão, mas também de seu polo oposto, a vingança. A partir desse embasamento, buscou-se alcançar o sentido do perdão no processo de individuação, levantando as hipóteses de que o mesmo pode estagnar o processo, quando vivido de forma superficial, ou facilitá-lo, quando é experienciado de maneira genuína. G. Jung and others Jungian authors and the clinical experience of the researcher as a couple therapist. Two couples participated in this research. These couples were experiencing conjugal conflicts and had been in a stable relationship for more than one year. The first couple attended a total of 15 weekly sessions and 8 dreams were considered during this period. The second couple attended a total of 16 weekly sessions and 6 dreams were considered during this period. We adopted a qualitative method, which permitted a deeper understanding to be obtained of the psychic processes, and dreams were used as a therapeutic instrument. The method for working with dreams emerged and was systematized based on the sessions with the couples, when the dreams were told and investigated. The results suggested that it is possible to develop a method to work with dreams within the context of couple psychotherapy, with this method systematized into three stages: the couple s dream, consideration ad reflection. The research also suggests that working with dreams can help the couple amplify their vision of the conflict, increase the self-perception of each spouse from participating in the couple problematic, reveal the dysfunctions in the pattern of the couple s dynamic and highlight the changes necessary to recover the individuation process within the marriage / Este estudo teve por objetivo propor um método de trabalho com sonhos na terapia de casais, fundamentado na abordagem da Psicologia Analítica de C. G. Jung, em outros autores junguianos e na experiência clínica da pesquisadora como terapeuta de casal. Participaram da pesquisa dois casais, que estavam vivenciando conflito conjugal e mantinham uma relação estável por mais de um ano. No trabalho com o primeiro casal, realizamos 15 sessões semanais e trabalhamos 8 sonhos e com o segundo casal, realizamos 16 sessões semanais e trabalhamos 6 sonhos. Nesta pesquisa, adotamos o método qualitativo, que possibilitou a compreensão dos processos psíquicos e dos sonhos enquanto instrumento terapêutico. O método de trabalho com os sonhos foi elaborado e sistematizado a partir dos atendimentos dos casais, quando os sonhos foram relatados e trabalhados. Os resultados sugerem ser possível o delineamento de um método de trabalho com os sonhos no contexto da psicoterapia de casal, método este sistematizado em três fases: sonho do casal, apreciação e reflexão. A pesquisa sugere também que o trabalho com os sonhos pode ajudar o casal a ampliar a visão do conflito, a aumentar a autopercepção de cada cônjuge na participação da problemática do casal, revelar a disfunção do padrão da dinâmica conjugal e apontar as mudanças necessárias para a retomada do processo de individuação no casamento

This aim was pursued using Analytical Psychology as a theoretical background. The pajé is a figure of central importance within Indian societies and the process of his initiation is looked upon as an important phenomenon as regards Analytical Psychology, because it constitutes a process of conscience transformation. In order to achieve a better understanding of this issue aspects of native cultures as initiation rites and shamanism were analyzed on the basis of Analytical Psychology. An interview of a Kamaiurá pajé , enriched with Analytical Psychology concepts was also utilized / Este trabalho tem como objetivo compreender o ponto de vista psicológico do processo de iniciação do pajé. Para esta compreensão foi utilizado o referencial teórico da Psicologia Analítica. O pajé é uma figura central na dinâmica das sociedades indígenas e seu processo de iniciação é considerado um fenômeno importante para a Psicologia Analítica, uma vez que demonstra um processo de transformação da consciência. Para se compreender essa temática foram discutidos alguns aspectos da Psicologia Analítica no entendimento das culturas nativas assim como nos ritos de passagem e xamanismo. Foi utilizada também uma entrevista concedida por um pajé Kamaiurá, que foi amplificada com conceitos da Psicologia Analítica

A presente pesquisa tem como objetivo central investigar o impacto das leis penais no processo de individuação, tal como concebido por Carl Gustav Jung. Para tanto, após esclarecidas questões relativas aos pressupostos teóricos da pesquisa junguiana, explorar-se-ão os passos principais do processo de individuação, procurando-se proporcionar uma introdução geral ao pensamento de Jung. Num segundo momento, procurar-se-á investigar o papel do Direito Penal na projeção da sombra humana e, por consequência, no processo de individuação. Sugerir-se-á, então, um caminho para que o Direito Penal possa verdadeiramente se inclinar ao fomento da integridade almejada pelo processo de individuação. Ao final, procurar-se-á argumentar que toda a busca, ainda que aparentemente assustadora, justifica-se em virtude daquilo que parece reservado a quem logra individuar-se. / This research intends to investigate the impact of criminal laws in the process of individuation, as conceived by Carl Gustav Jung. In order to do so, basic issues related to Junguian theoretical research will be explained, as well as the main steps of the process of individuation, seeking to provide a general introduction to Jungs thought. The role played by criminal laws in the projection of the human shadow, and, consequently, in the process of individuation itself will also be examined. Subsequently, this paper will suggest a path that Criminal Law could follow in order to truly promote human integrity, which is the main goal of the process of individuation. Finally, it will be argued that such a journey, although apparently frightening, is justified because of what seems to be reserved for those who manage to accomplish the process of individuation.

The binge drinking is a harmful alcohol consumption pattern very common among the university population, able to cause various harmful consequences. Population consisted of 21 college students, 11 women and 10 men, aged between 20 and 30 years old, from several graduation courses in the city of Curitiba and who had at least one episode of binge drinking in the last year. There were conducted interviews and applied three instruments on each participants (Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test, Social Adjustment Scale Factor / Neuroticism and projective technique of drawing with themed story). The material collected was analyzed qualitatively using Bardin s Content Analysis. Theoretically the analysis was based on the assumptions of Analytical Psychology. It was concluded that the excessive drinking and binge drinking are part of the studied sample s daily life indicating a trivialization of binge drinking among these young people, who are not able to symbolize their psychological suffering therefore they adopt a regressive and compulsive posture / O presente estudo teve por finalidade investigar o binge drinking e o consumo excessivo de bebida alcoólica em um grupo de jovens universitários, a fim de compreender quais são as motivações, percepções e fantasias envolvidas na ingestão compulsiva de álcool. O binge drinking é um padrão nocivo de consumo de bebida alcoólica muito comum entre a população universitária, capaz de acarretar diferentes consequências danosas. A população foi composta por 21 estudantes universitários, 11 mulheres e 10 homens, com idades entre 20 e 30 anos, de diversos cursos de graduação na cidade de Curitiba e que tiveram pelo menos um episódio de binge drinking no último ano. Foram realizadas entrevistas e aplicados três instrumentos a cada participante (Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test, Escala Fatorial de Ajustamento Social/Neuroticismo e a técnica projetiva de Desenho temático com história). O material coletado foi analisado qualitativamente por meio de categorias baseadas na Análise de Conteúdo segundo Bardin. Teoricamente a análise fundamentou-se nos pressupostos da Psicologia Analítica. Conclui-se que o consumo excessivo de bebida alcoólica e o binge drinking fazem parte do cotidiano da amostra estudada havendo uma banalização do abuso de bebida entre esses jovens, que não conseguem simbolizar o sofrimento psíquico e adotam atitudes regressivas e compulsivas
