Användning av affärsmodeller inom byggbranschen : En undersökning av småföretag i Nyköping

Eriksson, Cecilia, Tran Nikkilä, Mi January 2020 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to examine how business models are described and used among a selection of small companies within the construction industry in Nyköping. The study also aimed to identify similarities and differences in how company managers in the construction industry formulate the concept business model. The study applied a survey research design where data collection was in the form of electronic surveys and public company information. Analysis of the collected data material was carried out through thematic analysis of primary and secondary data.  The similarities identified were that companies consistently formulated their responses through the building blocks of customer segments, distribution channels and customer relationships. It was the same company that described the above-mentioned building blocks in detail and the remaining companies partially formulated the building blocks. The study's results were considered to strengthen previous research which presents that education could have a positive impact on how managers formulate the business model concept. The positive impact of the factor work experience cannot be confirmed in this study. Furthermore, none of the study companies used the concept business model in their daily work. The company managers in this study were considered to be familiar with their businesses. But the practical corporate culture and logic within the construction companies could mean that the formulation of the business model concept differs from how the concept is presented from a theoretical perspective. Accordingly, the study emphasized the importance of using business models as a theoretical tool in the construction industry.

Strategies to Improve Business Performance with Information from Social Media

Chan, Taylor 01 January 2018 (has links)
In the past 3 decades, China has experienced rapid economic growth. The China retail market reached renminbi (RMB) 29,651 billion in 2016, up by 10.4% from 2015. Using traditional ways that developed before the Internet era to acquire information regarding customers' changing preferences for products and services in a fast-moving business world is insufficient to support management in the retail industry to make informed strategic decisions. The purpose of this multiple case study was to explore successful customer-centric strategies that business leaders used to improve business performance with marketing information acquired from social media. The population comprised business leaders from 5 different companies in the retail industry in Southern China who have successful experience in improving business performance with the marketing information acquired from social media. The conceptual framework for this study was built upon the diffusion of innovations theory. The data were collected through semistructured interviews, social media sites, and analyzed using Yin's 5-step data analysis process for case studies to identify themes. The findings revealed 3 emergent themes: knowledge strategies, persuasion and decision strategies, and implementation strategies. The findings from the study may contribute to positive social change when local employment opportunities can increase through increased employee spending in Southern China.

Small Business Profitability Strategies in the Music Recording Industry

Murray-Noel, Jeanelle Lemol 01 January 2018 (has links)
With the rise of digital technologies, consumers can stream music content, which has made it more difficult for music companies to be profitable. Small business owners in the music recording industry in the West Indies have found this trend particularly challenging, affecting their profitability. This multiple case study explored the adoption of disruptive technologies by small business owners in the music recording industry to increase profitability. The research population included 5 small business owners in the music recording industry in the West Indies who successfully adapted to the changes in the industry's business model and whose businesses are profitable. Christensen's theory of disruptive innovation served as the conceptual framework for this study. Data from face-to-face, semistructured, in-depth interviews, observations, and analysis of internal company documents were collected and triangulated. Within-case analysis was used to understand the general meaning of the participants' responses. Each case was described and themes were identified. Cross-case analysis was used to compare the 5 case descriptions and identify 5 cross-cutting themes. These 5 themes included focus on live performances, focus on marketing and building a brand, adopt innovations in all functions of the business, diversify income streams, and adopt vertical integration strategies. The implications for positive social change include the potential to increase the profitability of small businesses in the recording industry in the West Indies by sharing the strategies emerging from the study. Profitable businesses can lead to improved livelihoods of the small business owners and their families.

Álvarez Fernández, Liliana Elisabeth, Arzapalo Atencio, Fiorella Milagros, Davalos Ordoñez, Harumi Leslie, Nicholson Durán, Luciana, Wu Paredes, Marcelo Alejandro 01 December 2021 (has links)
The present research has the purpose of elaborating a business plan for a web platform called SKILLS. The target audience is both English teachers and professionals who master the language and people who want to improve their fluency and practice the language. The process for preparing the business plan is detailed below. There is a need to improve the fluency in English dialogue in a dynamic way, as English is considered a universal language and mastering it could open many doors. And in the case of English teachers, they lack the skills to promote their services and knowledge. In this way, the opportunity to provide a solution was identified, having in consideration the joys and frustrations of both audiences. The purpose of SKILLS is to be able to contribute to both the people who want to learn or improve their skills in English and to teachers or professionals who master the language and facilitate the connection between both. / Trabajo de investigación

Diez Canseco Soto, Fernando Alonso, Carbajal Delgado, Silvio Enrique, Maquera Gómez, Noemí, Ramos Cardenas, Renata Del Rocio, Chávez Coral, Javier Andres 04 December 2020 (has links)
The purpose of this entrepreneurial project is to implement a business focused on unifying the supply and demand of select healthy products through an online platform (marketplace), which seeks to promote and motivate our consumers to adopt a healthier lifestyle. This project was carried out in Metropolitan Lima at SES (Socioeconomic status) "A" and “B”. We adopted a main focus on consumers with digital profiles that seek for dynamism in their purchases. This business model is attractive, since we see there are consumers willing to improve their diet and adopt a healthier lifestyle, but they do not find a place that provides a unified offer of everything they are looking for. Taking advantage that there are few options in the market where the interaction between suppliers and demanders is dynamic, we created Natural Club. This entrepreneurial project allows sellers to offer their selected and high quality products, quickly and easily, just as it is for our consumers to acquire them. All this while taking care of the delivery process, with all the sanitation and hygiene measures, due to Covid-19. For the development of this project, we carry out an exhaustive analysis that covered the following: Validation of the Business Model, Internal and External Analysis and the Development of the Strategic Plan. All the analysis was done with the aim of validating the viability and sustainability of this project.
