The thesis seeks to study through a qualitative text analysis how strategic policy concepts from three different policy documents concerning the use of the European Regional Development Fund can be said to align with two theoretical concepts from the field of regional development. Furthermore this paper aims to analyse how the theoretical- and policy-concepts are operationalized in the project that received funding in accordance with the policy concepts in one of the policy documents.

<p>In this essay I have chosen to write about graves, settlements and historical, important central places during the late Iron Age and the introduction of Christianity in the east of Blekinge. The reason why I have chosen to write about this is because the area has many ancient monuments and not much have been written about the area. The main question is who where the people who lived there and why did they choose to settle there.</p>

På de platser där markens kapacitet för odling, slåtter eller bete är låg har människan tvingats se sig om efter komplement till markens ringa avkastning. För öborna på Östra Hästholmen och Utlängan i Karlskronas östra skärgård kompletterades detta med husbehovsfiske i Östersjön. Här försörjde man sig som binäringsfiskare eller som lots i kronans tjänst.Det här är en studie av förändringar i befolkning, markanvändning, mantalsfördelning, binäringsfisket och lotsyrket på Östra Hästholmen och Utlängan mellan 1700 – 2016. Vidare tas örlogsbasens militära närvaro i beaktning. Utifrån studier av kartmaterial, mantalslängder och folkräkningar har information kring dessa förändringar jämförts mot varandra.Resultatet visar att befolkningsantalet och markanvändningen troligtvis inte påverkat varandra i det långa loppet. Snarare är det möjligheten till fisket och arbetet som lots som har bidragit till öarnas befolkningskurva och markanvändning. Östra Hästholmen verkar ha varit av störst betydelse för befolkningen under 1700- och 1800-talen på grund av dess lotshemman där man verkade som ”kronolots” medan Utlängan visar sig ha varit av större betydelse i äldre tider och då för sjömän från olika delar av Europa.

The inclusion of ecotourism into biosphere reserves to enhance sustainable development has increased the importance of tourism stakeholders’ relationships. Therefore, this research aims to explore how the quality of social relationships among tourism stakeholders affects ecotourism cooperation in the Blekinge Archipelago biosphere reserve. This is accomplished by using social capital as a theoretical lens for conceptualizing relationships between ecotourism stakeholders. A qualitative case study of the ARK56 network has been conducted, incorporating 8 in-depth interviews with ecotourism operators in the Blekinge Archipelago biosphere reserve. The results indicated that the regional network ARK56 is essential for tourism operators since it provides a broad network of contacts and encourages cooperation among the members. It is argued that a good working relationship based on trust and reciprocity facilitates efficient cooperation within the ARK56 network and that a balance between bridging and bonding social capital was identified which contributes to successful cooperation.

The coin circulation in Denmark during Eric of Pomerania’s reign (1396-1439) has been studied systematically within the borders of today’s Denmark, but not Skåneland. This area is in today’s Sweden consisting of Halland, Scania, Blekinge and (Danish) Bornholm. The coin finds show that during 1400-1420 there was a considerable percentage of foreign coins in circulation, especially in churches. These were mostly used for fees in churches, but also had use in urban environments. The copper sterling represents the circulation of domestic coins during 1420-1440. The distribution of its minting cities showed that the local Lund type is the most common, followed by a similar percentage of Næstved and Randers types, and a lesser percentage of Odense types. The percentages of Lund and Odense types were expected but the similarities between Næstved and Randers types were not. Since Næstved types are the most common in today’s Denmark, and Randers types are a less circulated coin.

Vi, Anna Nilsson och Jeanette Svensson, valde att producera musikvideos under vårat kandidatarbete på Blekinge tekniska högskola. Detta eftersom vi båda har ett stort intresse till musik och rörlig bild. Vi valde att göra två stycken för att lära oss produktionens process grundligt och för att nu kunna jämför de båda och av detta ta lärdom. Den ena musikvideon gjorde vi till en skånsk duett som heter KC och den andra till Advance Patrol. Båda låtarna är inom genren hiphop. Vårt mål med projektet var att skapa två videos som inte följde den generella mallen för hiphop-videos. Med andra ord ville vi undvika häftiga bilar, smycken i massor och lättklädda tjejer. På denna punkt fick vi dock kompromissa lite med Advance Patrol. Vi valde att filma i miljöer med mycket färg, djup och kontraster och att efteråt lägga på effekter som förstärkte texternas budskap. We, Anna Nilsson and Jeanette Svensson, have produced music videos during the Bachelors thesis at Blekinge Institute of Technological. We chose to make music videos since we both have a big interest in music and motion picture. We chose to make two to get the most out of the working progress and to be able to compare them to each other and our own development. The first video we made was to a duett called KC and the second one was to Advance Patrol. Both songs are in the genre of hip hop. Our goal with the project was to create two videos that did not look like the general hiphop video with things such as cool cars, lots of jewelleries and girls with not much clothes. We had to compromise a little bit with Advance Patrol about this though. With interesting places that had nice colours, deep and contrasts we came to create great videos in our own way. We also added different kind of layers and effects to make the message in the lyrics clear to the viewer. We have achieved our goals much greater then we expected and have now many new experiences to take with us in our future projects. Vi har uppnått vårt mål och resultatet blev bättre än vi förväntat oss. Vi har fått många nya erfarenheter genom hela projektets tid som vi kommer att ha stor nytta av i framtida produktioner. / Detta är en reflektionsdel till en digital medieproduktion.

Idag läggs det största fokuset på utemiljöer för vissa utsatta grupper såsom barn, äldre och funktionsvarierade. Trots detta är det lika viktigt för en student på ett universitet att komma ut och röra på sig liksom ett barn på grundskolan tack vare de effekterna som en fysisk aktiv vardag kan ge. Blekinge Tekniska Högskolas utemiljö är en viktig plats för studenter. Platsen har goda förutsättningar men är idag outnyttjad och i behov av förändring.  Arbetet syftar till att undersöka på vilket sätt den fysiska gestaltningen av en offentlig plats påverkar människors användning av den. Vidare syftar arbete till att ta fram gestaltningsstrategier för utformning av en offentlig plats i utbildningsmiljö som ämnar att öka dess användning, vilka prövas genom att utforma ett gestaltningsförslag för Blekinge Tekniska Högskolas utemiljö.  I arbetet genomförs en platsanalys, enkätstudie och dokumentstudie som ligger till grund för de framtagna strategierna och gestaltningsförslaget. I resultatet framgår det att fler funktioner, genomtänkt utformning och god tillgänglighet i den fysiska miljön uppmuntrar till ökad användning, inlärning och tillfredsställelse. Samband finns också mellan mängden fysisk aktivitet och inlärning. I resultatet framgår det även att de viktigaste funktionerna och värdena som behövs på en offentlig plats för att uppmuntra till användning är trygghet, säkerhet, tillgänglighet, möjlighet till fysisk aktivitet och kreativitet samt en behaglig, avkopplande miljö med vegetation, utblickar, väderskydd, sittplatser och låg ljudnivå. Det är även viktigt med en god utformning som tar hänsyn till design och arkitektur, en rimlig skala, slutenhet, social interaktion och belysning. Dessa faktorer och värden är även viktiga för att skapa en miljö som stödjer studenters inlärning.

This study is about archaeological knowledge production. It is also about what kind of impact such knowledge may have on an antiquarian/archaeological practice as well as on society as a whole. The work focuses broadly on Stone Age archaeology and specifically on the middle-Mesolithic Age in the county of Blekinge in the South East of Sweden. Until the late 1990’s, large-scale archaeological excavations in this region were rare. In particular, there were significant gaps in early- and middle-Mesolithic archaeology of other regions. In particular, the study brings up the relationship with the defined Kongemose culture's settlements in Southern Scandinavia. From a knowledge perspective the study discusses how different kinds of methodological practices are important for both archaeology and society, to be able to see and understand a more complete historical picture. Based on this, the focus shifts the role of museums within regional archaeology. The study here argues for a more strategically executed dissemination and presentation of archaeological knowledge towards different stakeholders.
