Brand management has been considered a critical point of marketing study, mainly when it is related to brand equity. This paper evaluates a model that takes into account the investigation of elements (or dimensions) which determine service brand equity under consumers’ perspective. Therefore, a brand model proposal is presented, tested and validated through descriptive research based on a survey covering 806 banks and university consumers in Porto Alegre. The survey results made it possible to validate the proposed model by using the Structural Equations Modeling, as well as to assess the impact of marketing actions on the consumer response. The implications of such results in marketing theory and brand management are discussed and new research topi

Rasmusson, Maja, Weibull, Maria January 2010 (has links)
The purpose of the study is to examine how retailing trough brand owned outlet stores effectsthe fashion brand. The problem that the essay is aimed to solve is how the fashion brand isinfluenced by selling through outlets and what opportunities and risks it has on the brand. Thestudy has been carried out by qualitative methods using interviews to answer the questionformulation. Three empirical perspectives have been chosen; an expert-, business- andconsumer perspective which have been linked up with three applicable theories. The fashionbrand Acne and its two stores; the flagship store and the outlet store have been chosen as acase study. This perspective and the two other have had the function to support generalconclusions taken. The study showed that in a short term, selling through outlet stores doesn’taffect the fashion brand in a negative way. Instead the result demonstrated that the brandcould benefit from this kind of business if it is correctly handled. The opportunities thatoutlets provide are an expansion of brand knowledge in the market. The excess of inventoriescan be sold through a channel which the company can control. The most significant risk liesin the re-positioning of the brand that outlet retailing in a large extent can bring. / Program: Textilekonomutbildningen

Panos Emporio, Extending the Brand

Hashemi, Mona, Hajem, Hadeel January 2012 (has links)
Brands have for a long time been used to identify and distinguish organizations, companies and products, it can be compared to as the soul of a company. A brand extension is a clear channel for product innovation, which can be a powerful tool to hold a competitive advantage. Product innovations can create differentiation; raise the brands characteristic-values, extend the area of use and block competitors. For 25 years, Panos Emporio has had a leading position in the swimwear industry and in spring of 2011 the company launched their first clothing collection for men and woman, and has recently launched an online store. The company is extending their brand and now that they have a new product category they are facing a challenge, which is underlying in our research question: How can Panos Emporio, a swimsuit brand, expand their brand image and identity to their new clothing line? The purpose of this report is to highlight important factors within brand extension that could be of value to Panos Emporio and other companies facing a brand extension. The report is a qualitative study using an abduction methodology where empirical findings have been studied parallel with the theories and vice versa. We have conducted interviews and observations, and have also collected quantitative data in form of a customer interview, to gain an understanding of the reality. We have chosen to examine and observe the brand Panos Emporio by asking questions regarding the company‟s organization, brand identity and image, as well as customer attitudes. The theoretical framework is underlying in our research study, with the initiation of portraying a brands meaning, importance and structure. Furthermore theories of brand extension with an emphasis on approach strategy and its advantages and disadvantages. The empirical chapter includes, information concerning the company´s brand, collections, costumer and retailers, as well as marketing strategies, which is a part of our data presentation.Out of our theoretical and empirical part we came to the conclusion that Panos Emporio should consider making the consumers more aware of the clothing collection before launching more products within a new product category, since the lack of awareness can throw a shadow over the main product and bring down the brand image which in terms affects the brand equity. Having good knowledge regarding the brands attribute, personality, purpose, identity and the relationship with consumers is more important than whether they should extend the brand or not. Companies need to focus on building their brand equity and image, towards the customers first. Authors believe that companies can take great advantages if a strong brand name and relationship is established at first. / Program: Master in Fashion Management with specialisation in Fashion Marketing and Retailing

Co-‐branding i modevärlden -‐ En studie i hur co-‐branding påverkar ett modeföretags brand equity

Dahlin, Carl Johan, Andersson, Eleonor January 2013 (has links)
Program: Textilekonomutbildningen

No. of bitstreams: 1 2007 - ?rica Sai?o Caputo.pdf: 973917 bytes, checksum: e44041e60dbf27ce142b265b8d22da99 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2007-08-23 / This work presents an analysis on brand, intangible asset that has assumed increasing contribution in the process of generation of value to the business, characterizing itself as a differentiation factor. One strong brand can surpass the factor price in the purchase decision and allows to move away the perception of commodity that the customers can attribute to the product or service. This study considers an analysis of the force of the brand in a segment where the product basically does not have differentiation, that is the sector of woollen steel sponge, in order to verify its contribution for the company performance as a competitive distinction. For this analysis the Bombril, whose brand was chosen it is synonymous of the category, being applied an adaptation of the method of brand evaluation considered by Oz?rio (2003) to confirm the premise of that a strong brand is an asset that handspike the result of the business. As Oz?rio model (2003) is indicated for brands considered strong, we performed a qualitative analysis based on the Muniz?s study of the dimensions of brand personality (2005), which is a determining factor for the strength of the brand, and premises identified by Aaker (1998) as characteristics of a company with a strong brand, which confirmed its applicability to the case. According to the model, a strong brand add value to the company by generating marginal cash flow, compared to operating margin typical of companies without the attribute of the brand in the industry and the value of company with brand attribute. The calculation of brand value would be obtained by the difference of the market value of the one company with brand value of the another company without brand value. Considering that the brand is an asset which leverages business results, whether by maintenance of customers, or by premium pricing and operating margins over industry companies that do not have the same brand recognition, for this study, we proposed an adaptation in Oz?rio model, evaluating the company's value with and without the brand attribute from the comparative premium pricing. The analysis allowed estimating Bombril brand?s value in R$ 190 million, similar to ranking published by Brand Finance in 2006, which had reference to the financial statements for 2005, the same base year of the analysis, R$ 183 million.

Small Business Owners' Consumer Brand Engagement Strategies in Social Media

Hunsicker, Adam M 01 January 2019 (has links)
Since 2004, the economic relevance of small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the United States has steadily declined while large-scale enterprises' contributions have increased. Large-scale enterprises have maximized opportunities to engage consumers through social media and have created competitive advantages compared to SMEs. The purpose of this multiple case study was to explore the social media consumer brand engagement strategies leaders of SMEs used to positively affect their brands' equity. Relationship marketing and customer relationship management provided the conceptual framework for the study. Data were collected through interviews with 8 craft brewery business owners in the Southeastern United States and content collected from the social media pages of each business. Data were analyzed using within-case and cross-case techniques. Themes that emerged from data analysis included the cost-benefit of social media over traditional marketing platforms, the significance of establishing and maintaining relationships, and the importance of constant and continuous contact with customers. SME leaders may benefit from the results of this study by furthering their knowledge and understanding of social media consumer engagement strategies that positively impact brand equity. Findings may provide owners of small businesses with strategies that may result in social and economic benefits including new employment opportunities, increased revenue, and economic stability in local communities.

Impact du sponsoring sportif de la marque sur la valeur des entreprises tunisiennes / Impact of Sports Sponsorship Brand on the Value of Tunisian Companies

Zouaoui, Rim 01 February 2013 (has links)
Tunisian companies undertaking progressive steps of sports sponsorship and multiplying their efforts for large-scale brand sponsor strategy. This research aims at unveiling how the sports sponsorship is implemented in companies while studying brand sponsorship and its impact on the consumer and the company on the other hand. We have chosen sports events as our field of study. The empirical investigation is divided into three parts. The first is about the marketing aspect which is primarily concerned with the study of consumer behavior through a survey conducted to analyze the consumer impact on the purchase of the sponsor brand, considering the example of the 2012 qualification Olympic Games football game between Tunisia and Malawi. As for the second part, it deals with the financial in its relation to the company. The technical study event was adopted to learn about the investors’ reaction towards brand sports sponsoring. Taking the example of African Nations Championships every other two years starting from 1996 up to 2012. Finally, to support the outcomes of the two previous approaches, a semi-directive interview was held. Nine interviews were conducted, which provided us with more information about the perception of leadership. Based on these data that sport sponsoring places the influence of brand on the value of Tunisian companies; our conclusions further demonstrated that Tunisian firms will definitely benefit considerably if they develop sports sponsorship brand.
