Riktlinjer för design av karma-baserade ’WebReputation System’ : För ’Collaborative Web Applications’ / Guidelines for design of a karma-based Web Reputation System – ForCollaborative Web ApplicationsLundgren, Kalle January 2017 (has links)
The number of internet users is growing by the second and with an increase of internet users, there is also an increase of User-generated content. Web application that bases their buisness on User-generated content is often called by the name Collaborative Web Applications. There is a challenge for those types of applications to maintain high quality of content, since the amount of content that flows in is massive. Previous studies in the area propose that this challenge might be answered by a Web Reputation System. Previous studies has also proposed to divide Web Reputation System into various simple models. One of these models is karma, which is the focus in this report. Karma as a model aims to reward users who contribute content that is considered by other users as rewarding or entertaining. Through literature studies, guidelines on karmabased systems could not be found, which suggets that its has not previously been investigated. This made it a relevant problem for this report. The work has been carried out as a case study and used documents and a questionnaire to answer the research questions. Through data acquisition from both users of existing karma-based systems and a comparison of these existing system, it has resulted in a number of guidlines which are presented in this report. / Antalet internetanvändare ökar hela tiden och med en ökning av användare, tillkommer även en ökning av användargenererat innehåll. Webbapplikationer som baserar sig på användargenererat innehåll benämns som en ’Collaborative Web Application’ och det är en utmaning för dessa att bibehålla bra informationskvalité med tanke på mängden information som strömmar in. Tidigare studier inom området föreslår att ett ’Web Reputation System’ kan vara lösningen för att hantera detta. Tidigare studier har även valt att dela upp ’Web Reputation System’ i olika enkla modeller, där fokuset i denna studie har varit på karma. Karma syftar till att belöna användare som bidrar med innehåll som anses av användare som givande. Via litteraturstudier så kunde inte riktlinjer gällande karmabaserade system hittas, vilket föreslår att det inte tidigare har efterforskats. Detta gjorde att det blir ett relevant problem för detta arbete. Arbetet har genomförts som en fallstudie och använt sig av dokument och en enkätundersökning för att svara på frågeställningarna. Genom datainsamling både från användare av befintliga karma-baserade system och en jämförelse av befintliga karma-baserade system, så har det resulterat i ett antal riktlinjer som presenteras i detta arbete.

Com o advento da Web Colaborativa, as bibliotecas acadêmicas no mundo todo têm enfrentado o desafio de continuamente repensar a maneira como seus serviços vêm sendo disponibilizados de forma a atingir seus usuários, em especial a geração dos nativos digitais. Nesse contexto de dinamicidade tecnológica surgiu a biblioteca denominada 2.0, que passou a oferecer Serviços de Referência Virtual (SRV) disponibilizando em seus sites, dentre outros serviços, a possibilidade de se comunicar com o bibliotecário através de email e posteriormente chats (ou mensagem instantânea) em tempo real. Este estudo objetivou primeiramente apresentar e delinear as características de um software gratuito de videoconferência e chat que usa tecnologia VoiP utilizado para referência em bibliotecas norte-americanas. Encontrou-se que, embora esse software tenha sido implantando em várias bibliotecas universitárias norte-americanas, com o tempo, essas decidiram por descontinuar o seu uso. Portanto, o foco do estudo se ampliou para a análise dos software para os quais essas bibliotecas migraram e as características dos seus sistemas. Analisa-se também as iniciativas de bibliotecas de universidades brasileiras que implantaram o SRV por meio de chat, os software que estão utilizando atualmente e os fatores considerados por essas instituições no momento da decisão pela implantação do sistema. A permissão para a tradução para a língua portuguesa do guia de Boas Práticas, Políticas e Procedimentos do QuestionPoint 24/7 foi obtida a fim de complementar esse estudo e nortear as bibliotecas brasileiras desejosas de disponibilizar o SRV via chat. A metodologia de pesquisa consistiu em um aporte teórico realizado a partir da literatura produzida nacional e internacionalmente sobre o tema, bem como pesquisa exploratória e observações participantes nos sites de bibliotecas universitárias brasileiras e norte-americanas que disponibilizam o SRV via chat. Este estudo concluiu que o SRV via chat traz benefícios à comunidade e coloca a biblioteca em consonância com as demandas tecnológicas de informação e comunicação sendo apropriado à realidade de bibliotecas acadêmicas brasileiras. Ainda, descobriu que algumas bibliotecas norte-americanas estão fazendo o uso de um software para oferecer o que chamam de Serviço de Referência Proativo. / Since its development, the Internet, and the Web in it, has gained popularity and become core technology of information and communication, both in developed countries and emerging countries. With the advent of Collaborative Web, academic libraries worldwide have faced the challenge of continually rethink the way their services is being made available to achieve its patrons, especially the generation of digital natives. In this context of technological dynamism, Library 2.0 arose, offering Virtual Reference Service (VRS), making available on their websites, among other services, the possibility to communicate with the librarian via email and then chat (or Instant Message) in real time. This study aimed primarily to present and outline the features of a free chat and video chat software that uses VoIP technology used for reference in U.S. libraries. It was found that although this software had been used by several U.S. academic libraries, with time, these institutions decided to discontinue its use. Therefore, the focus of the study was extended to the analysis of the software for which those libraries migrated and the features of their systems. The study also analyses the initiatives of Brazilian academic libraries that have implemented the SRV via chat, the software they are currently using and the factors considered by these institutions when deciding the implementation. Permission to translate QuestionPoint 24/7 Best Practices, Policies and Procedures into Portuguese was obtained in order to complement this study and guide the Brazilian libraries wishing to provide the VRS chat. The research methodology consisted of a theoretical contribution from the literature produced nationally and internationally on the topic, as well as exploratory research and participant observations on the Brazilian and American university libraries which offer the SRV chat on their website. This study concluded that VRS via chat brings benefits to the community and puts the library in line with the technological demands of information and communication therefore it is appropriate to the reality of Brazilian academic libraries. In addition, the investigation found out that some American libraries are making use of software to offer what is being called Proactive Reference Service.

Resumo: Na modernidade, foi a imprensa com tipos móveis inventada por Gutenberg a tecnologia que propiciou mudanças nas formas de produzir, disseminar e usar a obra intelectual e levou segmentos da sociedade a exigir formas de proteção para a produção intelectual. No mundo contemporâneo, o advento da Internet propiciou o ambiente informacional Web Colaborativa onde a produção descentralizada e compartilhada de conhecimento gera uma nova configuração cultural de exponencial representatividade no fluxo da informação. Nesse ambiente, as práticas de colaboração e remix que o caracterizam são contempladas por uma legislação estabelecida para um contexto anterior ao desenvolvimento da Web e cria-se, portanto, um descompasso entre o que a tecnologia propicia e o que a lei estabelece quanto a produção intelectual. Assim, em beneficio da produção do conhecimento, torna-se imprescindível saber não só quais os limites que a legislação impõe, mas também verificar as alternativas emergentes que contribuam para o fluir da informação no âmbito da Web Colaborativa dentro dos padrões que a lei estabelece. Assim, o estudo, caracterizado como pesquisa bibliográfica e qualitativa com uma abordagem de observação direta não participativa, apresenta o texto dissertativo baseado em levantamento bibliográfico com revisão de literatura teórica e exploratória de aspectos relativos à Web Colaborativa (abordados a partir da observação de fenômenos como blogs e wikis e os websites Flickr e YouTube) e à legislação que regra o direito autoral. In this environment, collaboration practices and remix typical which characterize it are ruled by a legislation established for a context prior to the development of the Web and an imbalance between what technology promotes and what is established by law as to intellectual work is created. Therefore, for the sake of knowledge production, it is essential to know not only what limits are set by the legislation but also to check the emerging alternatives that promote the information flow in the realms of collaborative Web according to standards established by the law. Thus, the study, characterized as a bibliographic and qualitative research with a direct non-participative observation approach, presents the dissertation based on bibliographical survey with review of theoretical and exploratory literature of aspects related to the collaborative Web (approached from the observation of blogs and wikis and the websites Flickr and YouTube) and to the legislation that rules copyright. Ανάπτυξη διαδικτυακής πλατφόρμας συνεργασίας για το [sic] σχεδιασμό και την αξιολόγηση προϊόντων / Web-based platform for collaborative product design and evaluationΣμπαρούνης, Κωνσταντίνος 23 January 2012 (has links)
Στη βιομηχανία, το σημερινό παγκόσμιο επιχειρησιακό περιβάλλον, χαρακτηρίζεται από πρωτοφανή ανταγωνισμό και απαιτητικούς πελάτες, οι οποίοι επιζητούν καινοτόμες και ταχείες λύσεις. Η κατανόηση και η βελτιστοποίηση των διαδικασιών σχεδιασμού θεωρείται ακρογωνιαίος λίθος επιτυχίας σε ένα τόσο γρήγορα εξελισσόμενο περιβάλλον. Η ελαχιστοποίηση του χρόνου εισαγωγής ενός προϊόντος στην αγορά και η διατήρηση της ποιότητας του, σε υψηλά επίπεδα, έχουν γίνει οι κύριοι παράγοντες της επιτυχίας του. Για αυτό το λόγο, κρίθηκε επιτακτική η ανάγκη ύπαρξης ενός συνεργατικού διαδικτυακού εργαλείου για το σχεδιασμό των εκάστοτε προϊόντων.
Στη παρούσα εργασία, σχεδιάστηκε και υλοποιήθηκε μια Διαδικτυακή Πλατφόρμα Συνεργασίας (ΔΠΣ), η οποία παρέχει τη δυνατότητα συνεργασίας μεταξύ πολλών απομακρυσμένων χρηστών, σε πραγματικό χρόνο, πάνω στο σχεδιασμό και την αξιολόγηση ενός προϊόντος. Σκοπός της εργασίας ήταν να δημιουργηθεί μια αποδοτική, αξιόπιστη και εύκολη στο χειρισμό της Διαδικτυακή Πλατφόρμα, για την εποπτεία, αξιολόγηση και επικύρωση του σχεδιασμού ενός προϊόντος, σε όλες τις φάσεις της ανάπτυξης του. Λειτουργίες, όπως η διαχείριση χρηστών, έργων, ρόλων και αρχείων, αναπτύχθηκαν και ενσωματώθηκαν σε μια ολοκληρωμένη πλατφόρμα, που επιτρέπει στους χρήστες να εργάζονται κατά τρόπο συνεργατικό και κατανεμημένο, μειώνοντας έτσι αρκετά το χρόνο που απαιτείται για την ολοκλήρωση της φάσης σχεδιασμού των προϊόντων.
Στην εργασία αυτή, παρουσιάστηκαν και εκτιμήθηκαν οι δυνατότητες που παρέχει η συνδυασμένη χρήση της Java, των σχεσιακών συστημάτων βάσεων δεδομένων, σε ένα περιβάλλον τριών επιπέδων (3-tier), για την υλοποίηση ολοκληρωμένων πληροφοριακών συστημάτων. Η τεχνολογία που χρησιμοποιήθηκε για την κατασκευή του συστήματος είναι η Java σαν γλώσσα προγραμματισμού, η οποία επιτρέπει στο σύστημα να εγκαθίσταται σε πολλά διαφορετικά περιβάλλοντα, η Oracle για την αποθήκευση των δεδομένων, η JSP για την ανάπτυξη δυναμικών ιστοσελίδων, ο Tomcat ως web server καθώς και η XML για την επικοινωνία και την ανταλλαγή δεδομένων στα υπάρχοντα συστήματα. Οι μέθοδοι και οι προσεγγίσεις που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν είναι γενικές και έτσι υπάρχει η δυνατότητα να εφαρμοστούν σε πολλούς και διαφορετικούς μεταξύ τους οργανισμούς. / In industry, the current world operational environment, is characterized by unprecedented competition and demanding customers, who seek innovative and rapid solutions. The comprehension and optimization of the design processes are considered the corner stone of success in such a rapidly evolving environment. Minimizing the time that a product enters into the market and the maintenance of its quality at high levels, have become the main factors of its success. For this reason, there was an imperative need for the existence of a collaborative web tool for the designing of each product.
In the present work, a Collaborative Web Platform (CWP), which enables the collaboration among several users, in real time, on the design and the evaluation of a product or production procedure, has been designed and implemented for remote users. The aim of this work was that an efficient, reliable and easy to use system for collaborative design be created, for the monitoring, evaluation and ratification of designing, in all of the stages of a product’s development. Operations of web collaboration, as is the management of users, roles, tasks and files, were developed and they were incorporated into an integrated platform that allowed the users to work in a collaborative and distributed way, thus decreasing considerably the time, required for the completion of the design stage.
In this work, the possibilities provided by the combined use of Java and the relational data bases systems, in a three-level environment for the implementation of integrated informative systems, have been evaluated. The technologies used for the implementation of the system was Java, as a programming language, which allows for the system to be installed in a lot of different environments, Oracle for the storage of data, the JSP for the development of dynamic web pages, the Apache Tomcat, as a web server, as well as the XML language for the communication and the exchange of data in the existing systems. The methods and approaches used are general and thus, there exists the possibility that they be applied to several organizations that are different from each other.

Busca responder à seguinte indagação: como as Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (TIC), mais especificamente a TV Digital interativa (TVDi), podem contribuir para a divulgação da informação e aproximação com a Ciência de modo mais horizontalizado e inclusivo? Partimos do pressuposto que um ambiente de produção de TVDi como o da TV Unesp é compatível à aplicação de metodologias de trabalho colaborativas bottom-up que fomentem a inclusão dos sujeitos interagentes não especializados. Defendemos que a TV Unesp seja um meio ímpar para o incremento da relação com a Ciência por suas possibilidades de produção de conteúdos com vistas a uma produção bottom-up. Nesse sentido, nosso objetivo geral foi investigar a TVDi Unesp como meio privilegiado para promoção do acesso da sociedade ao conhecimento científico e sua contrapartida na construção do mesmo. Como objetivos específicos, buscamos identificar a partir da perspectiva Pós-custodial e da atual concepção da Economia Criativa direções para a criação do conhecimento e de sua relação com a sociedade; abordar a complexidade do conhecimento em rede e seus processos cognitivos instersemióticos no contexto das TIC para o trabalho com conteúdos da Ciência; apresentar metodologia colaborativa bottom-up de trabalho com vocabulário científico e pontos de possível convergência ao ambiente da TV Unesp; apresentar, no contexto da TV Digital no Brasil, a infraestrutura e metodologia de produção de conteúdos interativos da TV Unesp, com enfoque em divulgação científica; e apontar um direcionamento colaborativo e bottom-up para a TV Unesp voltado à popularização da Ciência no Brasil. Para cumprir tais objetivos, utilizamos metodologia de pesquisa qualitativa de caráter descritivo-exploratório que envolve levantamento bibliográfico, pesquisa documental e observação participante. Como resultado de nossa pesquisa, apontamos direcionamentos para a transposição da metodologia colaborativa bottom-up do projeto Jugando a definir la ciencia para a produção de conteúdos científicos interativos da TV Unesp, traduzindo uma proposta transdisciplinar de aproximação com a Ciência. / This research addresses the use of new technologies in developing relations with Science. We seeks to respond to the following question: how can ICT, specifically the Interactive Digital TV (iDTV), contribute to the dissemination of information and approximation with Science in a more horizontal and inclusive way? We assume that an iDTV production environment as TV Unesp supports the application of bottom-up collaborative work methodologies that promote the inclusion of lay interacting subjects. We argue that TV Unesp is a unique means to increase the relationship with Science because of the possibilities of its content production viewing a bottomup production. In this sense, our overall aim is to investigate iDTV Unesp as a privileged means to promote society's access to scientific knowledge and its counterpart in its construction. As specific objectives, we seek to identify, from the Post-Custodial perspective and the current concept of Creative Economy, directions for knowledge construction and their relationship with society; to address the complexity of networked knowledge and their intersemiotic cognitive processes in the context of ICT to work with Science content; to present bottom-up collaborative work methodology with scientific vocabulary and points of possible convergence to TV Unesp environment; to present, in the context of digital TV in Brazil, infrastructure and interactive content production methodology of TV Unesp, with a focus on communication of science; and to point out a collaborative and bottom-up direction for TV Unesp, toward the popularization of Science in Brazil. To accomplish these goals, we use qualitative research methodology of descriptive and exploratory nature involving literature review, documentary research and participant observation. Las mesas son tradicionalmente consideradas como un mueble indispensable en hogares, oficinas y centros de trabajo. En los ambientes laborales y académicos, las mesas permiten que los grupos de trabajo logren mejor interacción y comunicación. Los dispositivos Large Screen Surface son pantallas táctiles de grandes dimensiones que se pueden establecer de manera horizontal o vertical. Durante los últimos años se ha incrementado el interés en el desarrollo de aplicaciones sobre este tipo de dispositivos multitouch, pues sus pantallas ofrecen un gran campo visual en alta resolución, además su configuración física permite que varios usuarios puedan trabajar simultáneamente de manera presencial. Esta investigación propone el desarrollo e implementación de una aplicación web colaborativa que permite a varios usuarios crear contenidos como mapas conceptuales, moodboards, líneas de tiempo, etc. Los usuarios cuentan con una biblioteca grupal que contiene recursos visuales como videos, formas, imágenes e ingreso de textos. / Traditionally, humans use conventional tables at home, offices, and as design centers, these are elements found everywhere on which multiple tasks are performed. Such objects have the particularity to gather many individuals in order to carry out any collaborative tasks. Large Screen Surface is the digital evolution of tables, since they are large touch screens that can be set horizontally or vertically allowing multitouch interaction by many users. In recent years, interest in the development of applications for such devices has increased, since its screens offer a large visual field in high resolution; additionally, its physical configuration allows multiple users to work simultaneously in situ. This research proposes the development and implementation of a collaborative web application which allows multiple users to create content such as concept maps, moodboards, timelines, etc. Users have a collective library which contains visual resources such as videos, shapes, images and text input. / Tesis

Nous abordons dans cette thèse quelques-unes des questions soulevées par I'émergence d'applications sociales sur le Web, en se concentrant sur deux axes importants: l'efficacité de recherche sociale dans les applications Web et l'inférence de liens sociaux signés à partir des interactions entre les utilisateurs dans les applications Web collaboratives. Nous commençons par examiner la recherche sociale dans les applications de "tag- ging". Ce problème nécessite une adaptation importante des techniques existantes, qui n'utilisent pas des informations sociaux. Dans un contexte ou le réseau est importante, on peut (et on devrait) d'exploiter les liens sociaux, ce qui peut indiquer la façon dont les utilisateurs se rapportent au demandeur et combien de poids leurs actions de "tagging" devrait avoir dans le résultat. Nous proposons un algorithme qui a le potentiel d'évoluer avec la taille des applications actuelles, et on le valide par des expériences approfondies. Comme les applications de recherche sociale peut être considérée comme faisant partie d'une catégorie plus large des applications sensibles au contexte, nous étudions le problème de répondre aux requêtes à partir des vues, en se concentrant sur deux sous-problèmes importants. En premier, la manipulation des éventuelles différences de contexte entre les différents points de vue et une requête d'entrée conduit à des résultats avec des score incertains, valables pour le nouveau contexte. En conséquence, les algorithmes top-k actuels ne sont plus directement applicables et doivent être adaptés aux telle incertitudes dans les scores des objets. Deuxièmement, les techniques adaptées de sélection de vue sont nécessaires, qui peuvent s’appuyer sur les descriptions des requêtes et des statistiques sur leurs résultats. Enfin, nous présentons une approche pour déduire un réseau signé (un "réseau de confiance") à partir de contenu généré dans Wikipedia. Nous étudions les mécanismes pour deduire des relations entre les contributeurs Wikipédia - sous forme de liens dirigés signés - en fonction de leurs interactions. Notre étude met en lumière un réseau qui est capturée par l’interaction sociale. Nous examinons si ce réseau entre contributeurs Wikipedia représente en effet une configuration plausible des liens signes, par l’étude de ses propriétés globaux et locaux du reseau, et en évaluant son impact sur le classement des articles de Wikipedia. / We address in this thesis some of the issues raised by the emergence of social applications on the Web, focusing on two important directions: efficient social search inonline applications and the inference of signed social links from interactions between users in collaborative Web applications. We start by considering social search in tagging (or bookmarking) applications. This problem requires a significant departure from existing, socially agnostic techniques. In a network-aware context, one can (and should) exploit the social links, which can indicate how users relate to the seeker and how much weight their tagging actions should have in the result build-up. We propose an algorithm that has the potential to scale to current applications, and validate it via extensive experiments. As social search applications can be thought of as part of a wider class of context-aware applications, we consider context-aware query optimization based on views, focusing on two important sub-problems. First, handling the possible differences in context between the various views and an input query leads to view results having uncertain scores, i.e., score ranges valid for the new context. As a consequence, current top-k algorithms are no longer directly applicable and need to be adapted to handle such uncertainty in object scores. Second, adapted view selection techniques are needed, which can leverage both the descriptions of queries and statistics over their results. Finally, we present an approach for inferring a signed network (a "web of trust")from user-generated content in Wikipedia. We investigate mechanisms by which relationships between Wikipedia contributors - in the form of signed directed links - can be inferred based their interactions. Our study sheds light into principles underlying a signed network that is captured by social interaction. We investigate whether this network over Wikipedia contributors represents indeed a plausible configuration of link signs, by studying its global and local network properties, and at an application level, by assessing its impact in the classification of Wikipedia articles.javascript:nouvelleZone('abstract');_ajtAbstract('abstract');

本研究成果冀望對於減輕圖書教師或館員在圖書館利用教育實施上的負擔,以發展結合網路學習讓學習者自學的有效圖書館利用教育模式。據此本研究探討發展之「合作式網路探究圖書館利用教育模式」對於學習者的學習成效、網路態度、科技接受度及學習滿意度,是否優於目前普遍被採用的「網路式圖書館利用教育模式」。此外,本研究亦探討場地獨立型與場地相依型不同認知風格及高低網路自我效能學習者利用「合作式網路探究圖書館利用教育模式」進行圖書館利用教育學習,在提升學習成效、網路態度、科技接受度及學習滿意度上是否與「網路式圖書館利用教育模式」具有顯著的差異,希望據此探討這兩個背景變項對於「合作式網路探究圖書館利用教育模式」輔以圖書館利用教育實施的影響。
本研究採用準實驗研究法,隨機選取新北市某公立小學六年級二個班為研究對象,一班為實驗組,共有30人,採用「合作式網路探究圖書館利用教育模式」學習模式;一班為控制組,共有31人,採用「網路式圖書館利用教育模式」學習模式,在90分鐘共二堂課時間內,分別實施不同模式之圖書館利用教育課程。
實驗結果顯示利用「合作式網路探究圖書館利用教育模式」進行學習的實驗組學習者,在學習成效及網路態度上皆顯著優於採用「網路式圖書館利用教育模式」的控制組學習者。在學習滿意度上兩組則無顯著差異。科技接受度的「認知有用性」上,實驗組學習者顯著優於控制組學習者;但是在科技接受度的「認知易用性」方面,兩組之間則無顯著差異。另外,本研究所發展的「合作式網路探究圖書館利用教育模式」對於場地相依型和網路自我效能較低的學習者的學習成效特別具有助益。但是「合作式網路探究圖書館利用教育模式」對於學習者的網路態度,並不會因不同個人認知風格與網路自我效能而有所差異。 / The research aims to explore the influences on students' learning effectiveness and internet attitude by using inquiry-based learning skills of Collaborative Web-based Inquiry Science Environment (CWISE) library instruction. Besides, it also find out the difference of learning effectiveness, internet attitude and learning satisfaction between field-independence and field-dependence cognitive styles, as well as high and low internet self-efficacy learners when using CWISE library instruction. The study would also help to reduce the burden on teachers or librarians and to provide self inquiry-based library instruction.
The quasi-experimental design is used under the restriction of education environment. Two grade 6 classes of a public elementary school in New Taipei City are chosen randomly and devided into two groups. 30 students in experimental group is proceeded with CWISE library instruction, and 31 students in control group is proceeded with web-based library instruction. Both library instruction model are taken for 90 minutes in two periods.
The results show that learning outcomes from CWISE group are better than traditional web-based instruction group in all aspects. In addition, the instruction of CWISE is benefit to learning outcomes for field-dependent cognitive style and low internet self- efficacy learners. However, the students' internet attitude isn't influenced by cognitive style and internet self-efficacy after CWISE library instruction.
