Estruturação de um protocolo de comunicação para ambientes de desenvolvimento distribuído de software / Structuring a communication protocol for distributed development environments of software

Gonçalves, José Antonio 24 August 2015 (has links)
The communication management in environments for distributed software development (DSD) has been investigated to ensure the consistency of collaboration scenarios. As a recent topic that involves technical and human issues, new concepts and processes of communication in DSD have been raised. Thus, this study presents a protocol to structure communication in DSD environments. The protocol was defined using the validation of hypotheses in an experiment, which was conducted by means of activities performed by master students in computer science. In the experiment, we set up the environment that had the characteristics of a distributed environment. It was proposed an project consisting of a set of activities to be carried out by groups of students. Each group was physically separated, forcing them to use synchronous and asynchronous communication tools. At the end, the expectations were met since we were able to structure the communication in hierarchical layers, setting up and defining the communication protocol in DSD projects.

Orientador: Maurício Compiani / Tese (doutorado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Instituto de Geociências / Made available in DSpace on 2018-08-17T09:08:07Z (GMT). Sobre o uso do TelEduc, o trabalho indicou contribuições significativas para a construção dos saberes escolares, assim como indícios das TICs mediando a ação dos grupos e potencializando o trabalho colaborativo / Abstract: Advances in information and communication technology (ICT) continually bring new possibilities for online social interaction, including a wide variety of tools to mediate communication (websites, blogs, wikis, webconferencing). This research aimed to analyze, through the technique of free recall, the social representations of teachers and students of IF Sudeste MG ? C?mpus Rio Pomba on Information and Communication Technologies in education. The research was conducted with a population of sixty (60) teachers and 200 (two hundred) students of the C?mpus Rio Pomba. The theoretical basis of this research refers to the Theory of Representations, Serge Moscovici. The survey data were analyzed using the technique of frame construction of four houses and the responses were analyzed with the aid of a computer program called EVOC 2003 ?, which combines the frequency of recall of each word to their order of invocation, seeking establish the degree of projection of the elements represented in each group. The results showed that social representations of Information and Communication Technologies in education influence the behavior of both teachers and students of the educational scene inserted in the information society. The data revealed that between teachers' pedagogical practice and the awareness that they have the attitude they should take in knowledge construction mediated by technology there is a great gulf, which is supported by social representations related to the fear of being overcome at the cognitive level of lose the monopoly of knowledge and sharing with the students construction of knowledge. With regard to social representations of students, the results showed that they share high expectations for teachers and school. The element of knowledge is presented as the core of social representations both for teachers and for students. In addition to the social representations of teachers and students of the IF Sudeste MG ? C?mpus Rio Pomba about the Information Technologies and Communication in education, this study sought to reflect on the Information and Communication Technologies in education and rescue some of the social construction of society riopombense on the creation of the Escola Agr?cola de Rio Pomba, today IF Sudeste MG ? Supporting collaboration in knowtworking : a design case study in home care / Assister la collaboration dans une forme de travail particulière, le knotworking : le cas du soin à domicile

Abou Amsha, Khuloud 18 May 2016 (has links)
The development of new modes of working raises new challenges for supporting collaboration. Knotworking represents an innovative way of organizing work where collaboration occurs in episodes depending on the requirement of the current situation. Supporting collaboration in knotworking presents multiple challenges due to the episodic, improvised, and cross-boundary nature of the collaboration. Our objective in this thesis is to tackle these challenges. Thus, we conducted a design case study investigating the collaborative practices of a group of self-employed care professionals organized as an association which take care of patients at home. The results show: 1) the centrality of the coordinative artifacts for sharing information and coordinating the work; 2) how focusing on patients’ quality of life leads care actors to address issues beyond the medical scope; 3) how the care actors experience different rhythms of collaboration depending on the patient’s situation. Based on these results, we defined some implications for design and developed the CARE application (Classeur pour une Approche en Réseau Efficace), which is accessible via a tablet and stays at the home of the patient. Feedback reveals the potential role of technologies in motivating the participation of new care actors, and in the creation of a shared place for diverse participants. Our work contributes to CSCW by bringing to focus a new model of organizing work named knotworking and by providing a first design case study aiming at supporting collaboration in this context

With the ever-growing use of social media, authorship attribution plays an important role in avoiding cybercrime, and helping the analysis of online trails left behind by cyber pranks, stalkers, bullies, identity thieves and alike. In this dissertation, we propose a method for authorship attribution in micro blogs with efficiency one hundred to a thousand times faster than state-of-the-art counterparts. We also achieved a accuracy of 65% when classifying texts from 50 authors. The method relies on a powerful and scalable feature representation approach taking advantage of user patterns on micro-blog messages, and also on a custom-tailored pattern classifier adapted to deal with big data and high-dimensional data. Finally, we discuss search space reduction when analysing hundreds of online suspects and millions of online micro messages, which makes this approach invaluable for digital forensics and law enforcement / Mestrado / Ciência da Computação / Mestre em Ciência da Computação

A contextualized instructional design approach : integrating intercultural competence development into email computer training

Svensson, Susan Lynn 01 January 2012 (has links)
Email communication within a diverse workplace poses intercultural communication challenges (Martin & Nakayama, 2007). This study aims to make a contribution to the literature by examining how these challenges can be addressed through email computer training. For this study, I set out to understand and demonstrate how, within the instructional design process, contextualized curriculum can be created that integrates intercultural competency and email proficiency. This thesis includes a draft of an instructional plan and course outline for an email computer class that focuses on developing intercultural awareness and skills in the context of an email training course. First, I examined email computer curricula, specifically the topics, course goals, and course objectives common to the curricula. As a result of this examination, I discovered that email training is limited to the technical aspects of email communication. Additionally, I surveyed intercultural communication professionals about intercultural topics applicable to email communication. Their survey responses indicated cultural differences account for some, but not all email workplace challenges. For example, they believed it is important to address intercultural elements like low vs. high context when writing an email message, and power distance and levels of formality when writing greetings and closings. Additionally, their feedback indicated that it is important to address direct vs. indirect communication styles when writing the main point and linear vs. circular cognitive styles when organizing text within an email. I incorporated their perspectives in my course outline. Finally, experts from the fields of instructional design, intercultural communication, and computer training reviewed a draft of the plan and outline. Although their feedback indicated that the premise and approach were sound and achievable, they differed in their evaluation of specific elements of the course. In general, their perspectives reflected their professional focus. For example, they either recommended a stronger focus on the technical aspects or a stronger focus on the intercultural aspects of the course design. Detailed comments pertained to the fine-tuning of the objectives, timing of the individual lessons, and other instructional elements needed for any polished professional course outline
