Mário Pedrosa, Waldemar Cordeiro e Ferreira Gullar. / [en] The project of a constructive vanguard in the art of Brazil, as well as the critical
passage of dedicated artists and intellectuals to the formularization of a new plastic
language, designates some basic questions to the controversy of the concrete art in the
country. In this process of formation of a new language, the performance critical and the
development of the field of the critical art in Brazil seem important data. The critical
position of Mário Pedrosa, Waldemar Cordeiro and Ferreira Gullar, important personages
of the debate around the constructive language, constitute crucial object to think the
theory and the conception of a Brazilian concrete art. The speech compromised to the
new language suggests, therefore, a withheld analysis of the critical texts and the
manifestos that give substance to the debate. This is the proposal developed in Concrete
Dialogues: the critique one of Mário Pedrosa, Waldemar Cordeiro and Ferreira Gullar.

L'influence d'Auguste Herbin après 1945 / The influence of Auguste Herbin after 1945Berchiche, Celine 30 November 2012 (has links)
After 1945, Auguste Herbin (1882-1960) became the leading French abstract, geometric artist and an inspirational figure to abstract artists in both Europe and the Americas. Herbin’s Plastic Alphabet paintings are the forerunners of the wider experimentation in op’art, concrete art and hard edge painting. Much of the work by artists dominant in Paris in the 50’s and 60’s, such as Baertling, Agam, Dewasne, Vasarely, Soto, Fruhtrunk, is unimaginable without the advance wich Herbin represents.

Políticas estéticas e ocupações poéticas: uma genealogia (im)possível a partir do concretismo brasileiro / Aesthetic politics and poetical occupations: an (im)possible genealogy from the Brazilian concretismNogueira, Fernanda Ferreira Marcondes 09 March 2010 (has links)
What potentiality still remains concrete poetry? What can allow it to continue to intervene in the present? By re-establishing their link with constructive art tendencies emerged in Brazil since 1950s, and taking concrete poetry as a multidimensional experience, we expose some of the conflicts inscribed in the politics of aesthetics of concrete poetry political project to put forward a different genealogy which is not based on its formal analysis only. Rather, how those radical aesthetics pervades the social structure, the public sphere, the common and the mass communication medium, echoing through the alternative artistic networks. We also point out some discussions that have been attempting to constitute or demarcate concrete poetry in an opposite way of its motives that subvert definitions and bring down the temporal frame of literary historiography. In this way, the first section proposes a macro-political panorama of this poetry production, in the following sections, some different ways of micropolitical resistance are emphasized.

correntes
estéticas que influenciaram a arte concreta no mundo,
abordando os
movimentos vanguardistas de caráter construtivo que
surgiram no início do

grupos RUPTURA e
FRENTE.
Estudamos a poesia concreta num âmbito internacional e o
vanguardismo do grupo brasileiro NOIGANDRES com suas
principais influências

Previous issue date: 2018-08-08 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / This master’s dissertation examines the action of a group of fifteen artists and poets linked to
the concrete art movement in Sao Paulo starting on the 1950s. The research problem refers to
the constitution of the concrete art group and to its role on the modernization of the Brazilian
artistic field. The research’s general objective is to understand how the affirmation of the
concrete art generation in the city of Sao Paulo during the 1950s took place. There are three
important theoretical and methodological tools: collective biography’s method and the
concepts of generation from Mannheim and field from Bourdieu. These tools, the situation of
the artistic field from that time, and the relation of the Brazilian concrete art movement to the
constructive movement are discussed in the introduction. In the second chapter, the
dissertation limits itself to the period from 1947 to 1959. During such time span, cultural
institutions relevant to the appearance of concrete art movement have arisen. The concrete art
movement emerged officially in 1952. Active as a group until 1959, it held debates with other
artistic streams and took over relevant positions in the artistic field. Focusing this period of
twelve years, the collective biography’s method is used. Such method prescribes extracting
relevant social information from defined populations. The resulting collective biography
shows a variety of topics, artistic or not strongholds, and exhibits, all in common to the fifteen
selected people. In the following two chapters, concrete art movement in Sao Paulo is studied
in its unfoldings. In the third chapter factors that have collaborated for the recovery of
concrete art after its peak during the 1950s are raised. Among those factors are art collections,
art galleries, libraries and book anthologies. In the fourth chapter the echoes of concrete art
movement in the contemporaneity are investigated. It is studied how concrete art movement is
still nowadays present in the artistic field, considering its artistic proposals and beyond. As a
conclusion a group portrait is shown, in which commonalities of the studied population are
specified and a interpretative viewpoint is done. The examined material is composed of
biographies, manifestoes, autobiographical pieces of writing, exhibition catalogues,
monographic studies on artists, articles and critiques published in newspapers, interviews to
No segundo
A biografia coletiva resultante indica
