The consumer attitude towards AI in marketing : An experimental study of consumers attitudes and purchase intention

Eickhoff, Frida, Zhevak, Leonid January 2023 (has links)
The use of AI has developed during the recent decades, and the application of it within different markets is continually growing. The application of it within marketing comes with different benefits that allow businesses to engage with the consumer and build a stronger relationship. The more AI is becoming applied in marketing, the more important it is to understand the consumers attitude towards its usage and effect of it on consumer purchase intention. The purpose of this study is to explore the effect of consumer attitudes towards AI- generated content within email marketing on purchasing intention. Theory of planned behavior and diffusion of innovations theory are applied to formulate the hypotheses. The research was conducted using a quantitative method in an experimental context. An online survey divided into two parts was developed and distributed to participants in Sweden in ages from 18 and above. A total of 114 respondents were recorded in the first survey and of those, 71 respondents were recorded in the second survey. The data was then analyzed in SPSS. The results from the survey showed the element of compatibility within the theory of diffusion of innovation having a significant and positive effect on consumers attitude towards AI-usage in marketing. The relationship between the observability element and attitude was found to be non-significant. Additionally, no significant difference was found when comparing the experimental group and the control group. Lastly, attitude towards AI was found to have a significant and positive effect on purchasing intention in the experimental group.

Consumer’s Perceptions and Attitudes on Augmented Reality in Online Retail.

Amaris Baños, Indira January 2020 (has links)
This study discusses Augmented Reality (AR) as a digital marketing tool in online retail, with a special focus on the perceptions and attitudes which consumers hold towards the tool. The project, aims to give insights on how to study AR in online retail settings and also touches upon how different characteristics of augmented reality can impact the consumers attitudes towards products displayed or demonstrated with AR tools. The conceptual framework is based on literature and case studies in the fields of augmented reality, consumer experience and, customer value creation. The data for this research project was obtained through in-depth interviews with participants who have had previous experiences with Augmented Reality. After analysing and categorising their answers, the findings suggest that the participants have an overall positive attitude towards the tool and that they are already keen to engage with the technology. Their answers also suggested that the use of AR tools in online retail could positively affect the consumers attitudes towards the promoted services or products which are displayed with the tool. Moreover, depending on certain factors, the tool could potentially have a positive effect on the purchasing decision. On the negative side, the participants consider the technology is not there yet and needs to be improved to deliver meaningful value for them. Other valuable findings of the project are related to the customer journeys and the value the tool provides to the users.

Konsumentattityder gentemot klädjätten H&M och dess hållbarhetsarbete : En kvantitativ studie på svenska konsumenter / Consumer attitudes towards clothing giant H&M and its sustainability work : A quantitative study on Swedish consumers

Pihl, Olivia, Kallur, Edwin January 2023 (has links)
This study aims to investigate how consumers experience the clothing company H&M's sustainability work and what attitudes consumers have towards the company. This is to be able to create an increased understanding and knowledge of how sustainability work can affect consumer attitudes. The study has been conducted with the help of a survey where Swedish consumers have answered questions regarding the subject. The study presents the results using various diagrams to give a visual picture of this. The collected data has then been interpreted and used to analyze and discuss in comparison with previous research in the field. It has been shown that consumers have a negative view of H&M's sustainability work, where several consumers feel that they do not work enough with this. Since H&M is active in the fast fashion industry, sustainability work is something that becomes contradictory and many therefore perceive the company's strategies as greenwashing. Transparency has proven to be a key to increasing interest in products, as more consumers have a positive attitude towards buying garments if they know its environmental impact. Regarding consumers' attitudes towards the business, it has been shown that many have a bad conscience when they buy clothes at H&M as many are aware of the fast fashion that H&M conducts. Many also do not have sustainability in mind when they shop at H&M. This has shown that consumer attitudes do not have a particularly large impact on the sustainability work that H&M does.

A new player in the accelerating textile industry : upcycled textile products

Torstensson, Rebecka January 2011 (has links)
Today, textile products are designed with a “built-in obsolescence” to only last for a shorttime. The intention of this is to allow or even to encourage the customer to get rid of it assoon as possible and buy a new item. This has led to the discussed matter of increase indemand and hence overconsumption of textiles causing a lack of raw materials. Upcycling oftextile materials is a possible solution to this problem, where textile waste is re-used to makea new product. The purpose of this thesis is to view the penetrating power of upcycling oftextile materials and to define the potential of solely selling upcycled textile products. Up-todatetheoretical data has been collected together with three qualitative interviews withretailers and a manufacturer, all selling upcycled textile products. The potential of solelyselling upcycled textile products lies in the mind of the consumer and the dedication of thevendor. The younger generation makes a challenging potential and the emotional attachmentto the products generated by story telling and surprising factors contribute to this potential. The fact that the textile industry is facing severe challenges is also seen as a potential to covernew and substantial market shares. / Program: Textilekonomutbildningen

Assessing demand for organic lamb using choice modelling

Rutledge, M. P. January 2009 (has links)
The worldwide market for organic foods is growing fast, but New Zealand meat producers have been slow to respond. Specifically, New Zealand producers have little or no organic lamb products for export or domestic sale. Part of the reason for this hesitancy to meet demand with supply is that the nature of the demand and consumer willingness to pay for the product is not well understood. The purpose of this study is to investigate New Zealand organic food consumers’ attitudes towards organic food and production methods and to evaluate consumer willingness to pay for an organic lamb product. Data for this study was collected using computer aided personal interviewing (CAPI) in supermarkets and speciality stores in Christchurch and Wellington. The study questioned consumers about their consumption habits, attitudes towards organic food and production methods and presented choice modelling scenarios to test willingness to pay for different attributes of lamb. Factor analysis is used to group the 12 attitudinal questions into three factors which were then placed into a two step cluster analysis to create consumer segments. Choice modelling was then used to measure consumer preferences for the tested attributes of lamb. From the factor and cluster analysis three distinct consumer segments were found and labelled as Committed Organic Seekers, Convenience Organic Consumers and Incidental Organic Consumers. These labels reflect each group’s organic consumption habits and attitudes towards organic food. The choice modelling results show that there is a willingness to pay for organic lamb. The three identified consumer groups state they would pay a premium of 61%, 44% and 26% respectively for organic lamb over standard pasture raised lamb. This paper gives an insight into consumer attitudes and preferences towards a product that could provide a way for New Zealand farmers to increase their returns. It contributes to the body of knowledge about the likely consumer profiles of regular consumers of organic food. There are only a few other studies that have attempted to measure consumer attitudes and willingness to pay for organic meat, however, the author is not aware of any published example of a study that has specifically investigated demand for organic lamb anywhere in the world. The study provides information about stated willingness to pay for five different attributes of lamb; this information should be of value in assisting the industry by showing which product offerings are likely to generate the highest sale price.

Γαλάνη, Δήμητρα 11 July 2013 (has links)
Nowadays, private label products are the most competitive products for brands and own a large part on the shelves of supermarkets, there are also increased market share in several product categories compared with the past functioned as supportive of branded products. Given the rapid growth of private label products in supermarkets, in recent years, both product range covering and in greater acceptance by consumers, their examination is clearly very interesting. So, the objectives of this research carried out in the context of this thesis is to investigate the attitudes and behavior of consumers to private label products in supermarkets, explore correlations were statistically significant differences between profiles and consumer purchasing behavior for private label products and to identify groups of consumers purchase private label products.

: A study of consumers attitudes and interpretations towards green advertisements

Högberg, Ellen, Håkansson, Patricia January 2018 (has links)
The fashion industry has been characterized by an awareness of the industry's pollution and its environmental-related sustainability issues. As a result, there has been an implementation of sustainability within the textile value chain. To attract new and existing customers to their more sustainable products, fashion companies continuously work with formulating messages containing environmental claims. However, it has been found that this is a difficult message to convey and it is even harder for companies to get their consumers to trust, perceive and receive the information communicated when consumers have a skeptic attitude towards green marketing. In order to create an understanding of the underlying causes of this problem, this study investigates consumers attitudes and interpretations of green advertisements from fashion companies. This study takes shape through a qualitative research method which compares if there are differences between the attitudes and interpretations from consumers of different age groups. The research has been conducted through four focus group interviews consisting of a total of 18 respondents. Nine of the respondents were in the ages of 22-25 and the remaining nine were in the ages of 45-58. The results of the study indicate that there are both similarities and differences between how consumers of different age groups interpret green advertisement and what attitudes they form against the advertised messages. The study shows that these similarities and differences of consumers attitudes are based on the formation of the advertisement. The formation also has an impact on how consumers interpret the green advertisements, if they are perceived as more or less environmentally friendly, and if consumers perceive the green advertisements as credible.

Studenters attityder gentemot influencers på Instagram : en studie om hur högskolestudenters attityder och köpintentioner påverkas av influencer marketing / Students attitudes towards influencers on Instagram : a study of how university students attitudes and purchase intentions are affected by influencer marketing

Grundsten, Linn, Öhman, Isabella January 2020 (has links)
This report examines the effects of influencer marketing on student attitudes and purchase intentions. The study focuses on the effects of influencers sponsored posts on their Instagram account. Its purpose is to identify the factors in sponsored Instagram posts that affect students attitudes towards influencers as well as to identify how it affects consumer purchase behaviours. The method used was a quantitative survey with 72 participants consisting of university students attending University of Borås. The results showed that factors affecting student attitudes towards influencers was frequency of posting, the type of product being advertised and different benefits included in the offer, such as discount codes. The results also showed that students purchase behavior is mainly affected by discounts and by how the product is being advertised. Students also claimed that their purchase behaviour is affected by the fact that the sponsored posts makes the consumer aware of a product that they did not know of previous to seeing the post. Lastly, consumer purchase behaviour is also affected positively because consumers claim to trust the influencers judgement and therefore believe that the product will hold a certain level of quality or standard. This study is written and conducted in Swedish.
