Kristensson, Rebecca January 2017 (has links)
Skolverket claims from a study that students are using school textbooks that are outdated and doesn't reach the curriculum of Lgy11. The first aim of the study, therefore, is to find out if outdated upper secondary school textbooks are used at high schools today. The second aim of the study is to analyse Christianity, Judaism, conception of life, ethical models and the relationship between religion and science in the textbooks to see if they attain to Lgy11. The textbooks that are analyzed is selected by a sample in terms of email contacts form various high school teachers, from different cities around Sweden. The textbooks that were selected by the sample was published before and after 2011 to see the differences on how close the textbooks are according with the current curriculum published in 2011. The method that has been used in the study in order to analyze the textbooks are content analysis with different categories from Lgy11.

Barngruppens storlek -en fråga om likvärdighet : en studie av policydokument / Size of the group -a subject of equivalence : a study of the policydokumentVigren, Maria January 2016 (has links)
Hur ringades ”problemet” med barngruppens storlek in?

The aim of this paper is to compare the subject-specific concepts and their use in two chapters dealing with the subject force in two different physics textbooks for grades 4-6. To achieve the aim, the following questions have been formulated: What subject-specific concepts are used and how often? What representations are used to clarify the subject-specific concepts? To achieve the purpose and the issues raised in the paper, the chapter will be analysed with two different content analysis. The material will then be analysed based on Vygotsky's theory of the development of scientific concepts. The results show that both chapters have about as many subject-specific concepts in comparison to the rest of the words in the chapters. One of the chapters show greater variety of representations with different contexts than the second chapter. Both chapters have used everyday contexts when the subject-specific concepts were explained, but one of the chapters show that different contexts were used depending on the subject-specific concepts.

Rezension: Julia Ahrens (2009). Going Online, Doing Gender. Jost, Gerhard 05 1900 (has links) (PDF)

The Russian bear is asleep : A press analytical study of Expressen and Aftonbladet’s perception of Putin and Russia at the Russian presidential elections in 2000, 2004 and 2012Fränberg, Viktor January 2017 (has links)
Sweden has always had a special relationship with Russia. The countries have fought dozens of wars against each other, both in the Viking Age, the Middle Ages and the early modern period. This, according to many historians, led to the emergence of a russophobia in Sweden. It has now been over two hundred years ago since the last altercation between these countries, so does russophobia still exist in Sweden, and if not, what characterizes our perception of Russia today? These are the types of questions that will be processed and answered in this press analytical study of the Swedish media's representation of Putin and Russia. The material studied consists of articles in two major Swedish newspapers from the period around the Russian presidential elections in 2000, 2004 and 2012, all of which were won by Putin. A general conclusion is that the Swedish media image of Russia is strongly negative. The image of Putin was somewhat positive in the year 2000 but then became increasingly negative. I also found no evidence of russophobia. Although Russia is sometimes portrayed as militarily aggressive there’s nothing that suggest that Sweden should feel threatened.

Kom tillbaka med hennes hjärta! : En studie om hur våld skildras i Disneyfilmer ur ett genusperspektiv / Return with her heart! : A study about how violence are depicted in Disney movies from a gender perspectiveGöstasson, Frida January 2017 (has links)
This study examines the depiction of violence in Disney films by investigating the relation between violence and the characters from the 1930’s until today with focus on a gender perspective. The films are Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas, Tangled and Frozen. The theoretical framework is based on the works of Devin McKinney, Henry Giroux and Slavoj Zizeks categorizations of violence. The results of the study show that the hyperreal form of violence have increased substantially, while the structural violence, such as detention, has been reduced and made visible in the narrative. There has also been a change in how the female characters relate to violence. In the earlier movies they took on a passive role, but later on they used violence in a more defensive way. In terms of the antagonists, a difference could be seen between the male and female characters. The female characters more often used other people to help them exercise violence, whilst the male characters did it themselves. The physical violence was more commonly used by the male characters, and the psychological violence was more common among the female characters.

Do it Yourself: A Content Analysis of Free Pornographic Tube SitesKubichan, Jill 06 May 2013 (has links)
In 2008 it was reported that there are approximately 28,258 internet users viewing pornography every second, and that men look at pornography online more than any other subject matter (Eberstadt 2009). Pornography has become a primary tool of sex education for young men (Bowater 2011) with the average age of first exposure being age 11 (Stefan 2012). However, research on viewer understanding and interpretation of the images is scarce. What are boys learning about sexuality as they watch pornography? Do they use pornography as a ‘how-to’ manual expressing a desire to mimic the onscreen act or do they use pornography as a general stimulant expressing a generalized pleasure, interpreting the act in alternative ways? The pro-pornography stance stresses the agency of the viewer, meaning the viewer has the ability to access a broad array of content creating a poly-semiotic or figurative experience. The anti-pornography stance stresses the agency of the industry, meaning the industry pushes a dominant design creating a mono-semiotic or literal experience. The purpose of this study is to look at how viewers of online pornography interpret what they see. By analyzing viewer comments sampled from free pornographic tube sites, this study seeks to understand the extent of viewer agency; do men interpret pornographic images literally or figuratively?
