Skoog, Elin, Axelsson, Mathilda January 2013 (has links)
A map is in constant need of being updated. Map updating is normally performed with traditional methods such as photogrammetric and/or geodetic. But by technical development the interest in new methods has increased, like in UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems). UAS is a relatively new photogrammetric method using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). The purpose of this study is to evaluate what uncertainty common details in a map can get in "products" generated from UAS images georeferenced with natural ground control points. The products that were generated was a digital surface model and an orthophoto and was produced in the software Agisoft Photoscan. The images that were processed in this study were obtained from Sweco’s UAS flight and taken over landfill area Fågelmyra in Ornäs, Dalarna county. In the digital surface model and the orthophoto details were measured and controlled against check points surveyed with Network RTK (Real-Time Kinematic). The study has shown that the surveyed details in the digital surface model and ortohophoto resulted in a planimetric uncertainty of 0.28 m and 0.08 m, respectively. The reason for why the uncertainties for the digital surface model and orthophoto are different may be that it is difficult to identify objects in the digital surface model. Based on this study it can be concluded that UAS and georeferencing with natural ground control points is suitable for mapping of smaller areas. In addition, it can be concluded that UAS is efficient and relatively easy technique.

Nilsson, Olof, Olsson, Linda January 2022 (has links)
The early detection and measure of subsidence and deformations is important within construction-, civil engineering and the mining industry to control whether the operations affect nearby areas and structures. UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) photogrammetry is a suitable method to conduct repeated measurements in environments which is hard to access where subsidence can occur. The purpose of this study has been to investigate the possibility of detecting subsidence with UAV photogrammetry and compare direct and indirect georeferencing. This has been investigated by using several objects to simulate subsidence at centimeter level. The area where the study was conducted was flown over with a photogrammetric UAV in two epochs of which the first epoch was before subsidence and the second epoch was after a simulated subsidence of the objects. Points was marked on the objects who were measured with a total station for both epochs and these measurements was used as reference values (hereafter called True Value). Processing was thereafter done in two different software: Agisoft Metashape and Leica Infinity. In Metashape point clouds was created for both epochs indirectly georeferenced with ground control points. In Infinity point clouds was created for both epochs directly georeferenced with Network-RTK (N-RTK). The deviations of the point clouds towards checkpoints were verified. Coordinates of the markings on the objects was extracted and compared against coordinates measured with total station. The photogrammetric processing resulted in four different point clouds. In the indirectly georeferenced pointclouds it was possible to detect deformations at centimeterlevel. This was however not possible using the directly georeferenced pointclouds as they were affected by a systematic error in heigth. The workflow and the resulting point clouds from the two different software was also compared to each other and by that it was established that even though they both have high system requirements the Leica Infinity software was much more demanding and additionally time consuming. The conclusion from this study is that N-RTK is not yet a satisfactory method for georeferencing when low uncertainties are required. In this case, indirect georeferencing or registration of the point clouds with ICP (Iterative Closest Point) algorithms is to be preferred. It is also important to create point clouds with the highest density possible to be able to make exact measurements.

Vers l’étalonnage interne de caméra à haute précision / Towards high precision internal camera calibration

Rudakova, Victoria 21 January 2014 (has links)
This dissertation focuses on internal camera calibration and, especially, on its high-precision aspects. Two main threads are followed and examined: lens chromatic aberration correction and estimation of camera intrinsic parameters. For the chromatic aberration problem, we follow a path of digital post-processing of the image in order to get rid from the color artefacts caused by dispersion phenomena of the camera lens system, leading to a noticeable color channels misalignment. In this context, the main idea is to search for a more general correction model to realign color channels than what is commonly used - different variations of radial polynomial. The latter may not be general enough to ensure stable correction for all types of cameras. Combined with an accurate detection of pattern keypoints, the most precise chromatic aberration correction is achieved by using a polynomial model, which is able to capture physical nature of color channels misalignment. Our keypoint detection yields an accuracy up to 0.05 pixels, and our experiments show its high resistance to noise and blur. Our aberration correction method, as opposed to existing software, demonstrates a final geometrical residual of less than 0.1 pixels, which is at the limit of perception by human vision. When referring to camera intrinsics calculation, the question is how to avoid residual error compensation which is inherent for global calibration methods, the main principle of which is to estimate all camera parameters simultaneously - the bundle adjustment. Detachment of the lens distortion from camera intrinsics becomes possible when the former is compensated separately, in advance. This can be done by means of the recently developed calibration harp, which captures distortion field by using the straightness measure of tightened strings in different orientations. Another difficulty, given a distortion-compensated calibration image, is how to eliminate a perspective bias. The perspective bias occurs when using centers of circular targets as keypoints, and it gets more amplified with increase of view angle. In order to avoid modelling each circle by a conic function, we rather incorporate conic affine transformation function into the minimization procedure for homography estimation. Our experiments show that separate elimination of distortion and perspective bias is effective and more stable for camera's intrinsics estimation than global calibration method

Therefore, the hygienic and sanitary quality is essential in the production of safe food. This study aimed to evaluate the processing and hygienic and sanitary conditions of fruits and fruit pulps in quilombola community. The survey was conducted in the Community of the Remnant of Quilombo do Pombal, Goiás, Brazil. To evaluate the physical and functional conditions was applied a checklist before and after the implementation of structural adjustments, training and implementation of the Manual of Good Practices and Standard Operating Procedures. Data were categorized according to the percentage of adequacy. Microbiological analyzes of 32 samples were taken including, fruits of Cerrado found in the community and fruits and their pulps in different steps of the flowchart production. The hazards and critical control points were listed in the production flow chart. The physical and functional diagnostic performed indicated average compliance of blocks of 30.18%, being classified in Group 3, unsatisfactory. After interventions, there was 62.13% of compliance, with classification in Group 2, regular (p <0.05). The intervention effect was significant (p <0.05) for five of the seven blocks evaluated. Microbiological analysis indicated that all the native fruits collected are in accordance with the recommendations of the current health legislation. Fruits and pulps included into processing flowchart presented in accordance with sanitary standards for fecal coliform count and detection of Salmonella spp, however, the mold count and yeast in eight pulps analyzed indicated that five of them had counts above the established by legislation. The results suggest fruit contamination since the harvest and multiplication of such micro-organisms in the remaining stages. The washing and filling steps were able to reduce the load of molds and yeasts. It is understood that the physical and functional adaptations implemented were important to increase the percentage of adequacy of the items, however, the persistence of shortcomings in the work process may compromise the quality of the final product, stressing the need for compliance with good practices.

In addition, we evaluated the need to use or not to field control points for the generation of Digital Surface Model (DSM) and ortomosaico as tools to evaluate the erosive process. Despite the wide variation in attitude of aerial photographs that make up the aerophotogrammetric block arising from the instability of the UAV, it was possible to generate the MDS and ortomosaico with or without control points. This research was conducted in two urban erosions located in Goiania in Sector Fonte Nova in the stream of grass and the other in Silvânia called foot-washing. Whole generation of MDS, Digital Surface Model (MDT) and ortomosaico were performed in Agisoft PhotoScan program in semi-automatic processing, if used control points, or automatic without control points. The ortomosaicos generated without control points presented rotation, translation and scale of different generated with support. In addition, MDS generated without control points showed elevation or lowering of the reference surface with respect to the generated control, it is emphasized that these discrepancies are not constant. When performing automatic conversion of MDS to MDT, it was realized that the program was not able to eliminate the shrub vegetation located within the erosion. The vegetation or tree, shrub or undergrowth (grass) prevents proper limitation of erosion to the volume calculation. But unlike the MDS generated between two distinct epochs identifies the changes in the interval of time in areas without vegetation. The use of control points was essential to ensure the orientation, scale and the reference plane in the products generated from aerial photographs and thus evaluate the changes. Anyway, the UAV can be used as a platform for taking aerial photographs for generating cartographic products that enable the mapping and evaluation of erosions.

Exploring algorithms to score control points in metrogaine events

Van Hoepen, Wilhelmina Adriana 02 1900 (has links)
Metrogaining is an urban outdoor navigational sport that uses a street map to which scored control points have been added. The objective is to collect maximum score points within a set time by visiting a subset of the scored control points. There is currently no metrogaining scoring standard, only guidelines on how to allocate scores. Accordingly, scoring approaches were explored to create new score sets by using scoring algorithms based on a simple relationship between the score of, and the number of visits to a control point. A spread model, which was developed to evaluate the score sets, generated a range of routes by solving a range of orienteering problems, which belongs to the class of NP-hard combinatorial optimisation problems. From these generated routes, the control point visit frequencies of each control point were determined. Using the visit frequencies, test statistics were subsequently adapted to test the goodness of scoring for each score set. The ndings indicate that the score-visits relationship is not a simple one, as the number of visits to a control point is not only dependent on its score, but also on the scores of the surrounding control points. As a result, the scoring algorithms explored were unable to cope with the complex scoring process uncovered. / Decision Sciences / M. Sc. (Operations Research)
