Made available in DSpace on 2016-03-15T19:32:48Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Claudio Aparecido Barboza.pdf: 1458405 bytes, checksum: c93b743ce407e846cee27ddbaece08c4 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2014-02-12 / The financial health of a company, its continuity and its management process are strengthened to the extent that society organizations demand greater transparency and stronger corporate governance practices. This is particularly relevant in relation to the operators of Health Plans, given the social and economic impact that disability controls in this type of activity can lead to the operator itself and especially to society. This research falls within the current business environment, considering that increasingly more increases the number of operators who suffer the suspension of sales of its health plans by incurring problems in servicing its beneficiaries. In this sense, the main objective of this study was to investigate whether there is a relationship between financial and non-financial data that can predict the incidence of suspension of sale of health plans characterized here by the Operators Medical Cooperatives. To do so, we attempted to build Prediction of Delinquency Model that can be used as a tool of management and control and can also help in directing the behavior of their managers. To support this study, the research literature on the concepts of credit risk, credit risk, delinquency, forecasting models, Operators on regulation and Health Plans were made. The methodology was applied to quantitative character, while the samples were obtained and selected through the data contained in the ANS website and data analysis was done with the aid of spreadsheets and free software R. As a result of the study, we obtained a model that predicts the delinquency of Medical Cooperatives thus characterized by the occurrence of the suspension of the sale of their health plans.

Sistemas técnicos e usos do território: o caso da rede brasileira de socioeconomia solidária / Technical systems and uses of territory: the case of \"Rede Brasileira de Socioeconomia Solidária\"

Janete Jacques da Costa 23 October 2006 (has links)
This research deals with the question of different uses that the same territory might have, specially in metropolises such as Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. O modelo socialista de Cooperativa de Produção Agropecuária (CPA): contradições e avanços - estudo de caso de Copava / The socialist model of Agricultural Production Cooperative (CPA-MST): contradictions and gaps - a case study of Copava

Fernanda Thomaz 24 February 2011 (has links)
This masters research aimed to analyze the model of socialist agriculture conference proposed by the Movement of Landless Peasants (MST) by means of agricultural production cooperatives (CPAs) and its contradictions. The idea was to understand the extent to which the collectivization of the agricultural work strengthens the fight for land resistance. With this purpose the research was proposed to the Copava cooperative (Cooperative Agricultural Production Vó Aparecida), founded on November 20, 1993, in the settlement Pirituba, agrovila III, located in Itaberá, southwest of São Paulo. CPAs in the land, work and income are managed collectively by the cooperative members themselves. Although the CPA is a venture-type business, is radically different from a venture capitalist, because there is no extraction of surplus value. The division of income is made according to the number of hours worked each after being paid or written off debts with the production and investment spending to expand the cooperative structure. The Copava was founded by 27 families, totaling 46 members, covering an area of 189 acres of land. The current theoretical and methodological Marxist-Leninist ideology that underlies this is the CPA model, and found the contradictions arising from the contrast between the socialist vision and the vision of peasant land use. Through the CPA, Copava has managed to ensure year round supply of bread, milk, rice and beans for all members. However, a fundamental contradiction of this model is that the increased productivity made possible by the CPA, does not necessarily reflect an increase in cash income for the cooperative because of the high costs of maintaining and expanding the infrastructure of the cooperative, the difficulty of marketing products, and lack of credit and government funding that ends up requiring the cooperative to close contracts with capitalist enterprises that take on much of the income generated by the associates.

The present research focuses on the Brazilian company internationalization process that has stated twenty five years ago and continues up to the present. The research highlights the 1990s when Brazil opened its economy to foreign investments thus bringing about new technologies, products and managerial practices that had already been optimized by foreign organizations. The Brazilian delay in catching up with the developed world latest progress caused immeasurable damages to social, political and economic development. As a consequence, Brazil experienced technological and educational slowdown, and lack of qualified labor to face a globalized world where technological innovations and human qualification are crucial to development. In the aforementioned context, the State of Paraná agribusiness cooperatives improved significantly from 1980 on, when they sought insertion into a globalized world through increasing their exportation gradually. At first, Paraná only exported in natura products. Later on, the inclusion of new technologies, equipment, researches, management systems and personnel continuing education provided a huge financial increase in the Paraná cooperative sector, as well as an expressive increase in its GDP that represents 40% of he State total exports. So, the present work seeks to bring a positive contribution to the theme discussion and to the State of Paraná cooperative organizations in order to understand this important and irreversible internationalization process, which brought about, and continues bringing, financial and technological advantages and dynamism to our local economy transforming the Paraná and Brazilian organizations into big global players acting in international business.

Therefore, two associations in Brazil and two cooperatives in Nicaragua were selected. These organizations were chosen owing to the similiarities between them. The research was developed as a multiple case study, and the interviews were conducted through semi-structured questions. The interviewers were free to add any information they thought necessary. We identified eight general categories, which were reduced to three main categories. The data obtained were analyzed using content analysis, and as a result, among other things, may verify the impacts generated by the potters participation in associations and cooperatives, from personal, family and social aspects, in addition to issues involving the community in which they live. Also verified was the need for dissemination and the development of public policies with the final objective being to publicise the artisans, and the different characteristics between the focus given to participation in associations, in both Brazil, and cooperatives in Nicaragua. Talk in Brazil indicates the emphasis placed by the associated issues in relation to social life, and talk in Nicaragua, suggests a greater concern about financial issues. Perhaps these characteristics are related in the end, to the type of organization chosen to unite the groups in the two countries. The contributions of this work are generated by the amplification of the literature related to women entrepreneurship and also by launching a different look at the reality of enterprising potters, due to their involvement with cooperatives and associations, in relation to aspects of personal, family, economic and social. Finally, this work presents possible topics for future research, including those related to further studies that take into account the concept of entrepreneurship defined here-in, studies that deepen the understanding of the psychological impacts generated by the entrepreneurship of women involved with subsistence activities, and furthermore the possibilities of studying the actions of training and development of public policies aimed at this audience.

Building Rural Development Strategies Through Energy Resilience in Turkey: A Brown Revolution of Biogas and Cooperatives

Gömec, Görkem January 2013 (has links)
While the growth of Turkey brings many prosperities, the required energy for this development creates a dependency that goes up to 80% of total energy consumption. In order to have a resilient energy system that adapts to sudden changes in an area where political and social conditions are not stable, Turkey needs a renewable energy source produced by domestic resources. This study shows that the abundant resources in agriculture sector for biomass energy production, especially biogas production, can be that energy source however, this will require a new rural development model that uses cooperatives in its centre. Further research and interviews suggest that, the cooperatives have the capacity, but not all of them have the opportunity and the support to take upon this task.

The Serving and the Served: Relationship between suppliers and food hubs in Swedish Alternative Food Networks

Korcekova, Kristina January 2017 (has links)
The Swedish alternative food networks landscape is underdeveloped compared to that of the US or the countries of Western Europe, however its development has sped up in recent years. The relationship between the farmer and the food hub is the first one to be built when an Alternative Food Network is being set up and therefore represents a valid starting point in the hitherto scarcely studied field of alternative food distribution in Sweden. The paper used a relationship-marketing framework with the addition of elements from Civic Food Networks conceptualization of Alternative Food Networks in order to explain the creation and maintenance, as a well as the quality and depth of supplier-distributor relationships in two cases of Swedish food hubs. Given the immaturity of the Swedish market, this paper tried to explore the possible variations existing in the landscape. In the case of student-led food cooperative Ultimat and its two studied suppliers, values and larger local food systems goals played the primary role in creating and maintaining the relationship, in spite of the poor economic performance of such a relationship in the eyes of the suppliers. The linkages forged between the two entities are strong due to shared values and common goals. In the case of Bygdens Saluhall, the values play a certain role, but the economic element remains crucial for the farmers. At the same time, the connection is closer and ownership of the project by the farmers more significant. Additionally, points of interest arose for future research, notably the diverging stance of Ultimat’s suppliers vs. Bygdens Saluhall’s suppliers in the question of pro-business food hubs and organization of alternative food networks in general.
