Pokročilá výroba individuálních ortopedických implantátů technologií selektivního tavení laserem / Advanced Fabrication of Custom Orthopaedic Implants Using Selective Laser Melting TechnologyTrubačová, Pavlína January 2016 (has links)
This work describes advanced fabrication of custom orthopaedic implants using unconventional additive manufacturing technology - Selective Laser Melting (SLM). There was a main focus on custom knee replacement and certainly on its femoral component. The study investigated three general issues within the domain of the usage of additive manufacturing technology in medical application. First, there was an evaluation of process parameters influences of SLM fabrication method on surface and mechanical properties of titanium Ti6Al4V ELI specimens. This material was used because of its biocompatibility and its wide use within implant fabrication. Then, a proposal of the manufacturing strategy was carried out and the fabrication of customized knee femoral component prototype by SLM technology was done. The elaboration of the numerical chain prior the SLM implant fabrication, from patient's CT knee scan to final femoral replacement model, was also done. Then, a proposal of different 3-axis and 5-axis strategies of machining of the fitting femoral surface of bone prototype (3D printed from the powder) using CNC machines FV 25 CNC and TAJMAC ZPS MCV 1210 was projected and also, the 3-axis spiral machining was realised. The individual machining tool paths were generated by software Power Mill from Delcam group. Finally, these machining strategies were generated as a prior step before a machining of real patient’s bone, therefore the machining tests of cartilage and bone were done.

Secure Management System for UPnP Digital Home NetworkLu, Yu-Chun 16 August 2010 (has links)
The rapid development in wireless network technology, together with the extensive progress in the digital home hardware and software, have allowed every family to enjoy the conveniences of these new technologies. In particular, the UPnP network technologies link various digital home devices together, coming alone with seamless connection and configuration-less environment. These benefits make it very easy for users to enjoy their digital home devices. However, related security issues have begun to surface one after another. Under a UPnP network environment, users¡¦ identity are not distinguished and therefore, they can not authorize the usage of those devices, services and content. Devices with similar types of service and content lack of integration, it is inconvenient when users need to search or access. In addition, there seems to be a lack of proper handling mechanisms when these devices, services, and content encounter anomaly problems and errors. Lastly, family users will also inevitably have connection requirements between homes but unfortunately, the current UPnP network environment is unable to provide convenient and secured home-to-home content exchange mechanisms.
To address the issues mentioned above, this study surveyed the UPnP network environment from a fresh perspective. And through virtual resources, central control network framework and fault tolerance design, it further provides abilities to do related resource authentication, authorization, auditing, and fault handling. It also uses PKI framework to provide the authentication and secure connection between homes. Lastly, we designed and implemented a secure Management System for a UPnP digital home network. It provides secure and convenient home network environment that is compatible with UPnP/UPnP AV standards. On the user¡¦s control aspect, we provided user authentication, authorization, and auditing functionalities. On the home resource management aspect, we provided networks, devices, services, and content which can be controlled and managed. And we also provide integrated and customized entries for service and content. We have a management system with smart and user friendly features. On the anomaly management aspect, we provide fault detection, handling, and basic fault tolerance mechanism. Lastly, we provide trusted homes mechanism, supporting secure user roaming outside their homes, allowing content sharing between trusted homes, and ensuring that users roaming in other locations may still access specific content in their homes.

The impact of ad, personal, and situational characteristics on positive affect and felt urge to buy impulsively. A quantitative study in the Facebook contextBjuhr, Beatrice, Pham, My Tra January 2015 (has links)
Social media has grown in importance as an advertising communication tool, and companies take advantages of this by using social media marketing to meet their marketing objectives. The research context in this study is chosen to be the social media Facebook, mainly since it is the biggest and most used social media in Sweden but also since Facebook offers companies many different commercial options. We detected a research gap, since there is a lack of theory on Facebook’s customized advertisements on a more specific context that is felt urge to buy impulsively. We could also identify a research gap since there is no study investigating how positive affect and felt urge to buy impulsively are affected by different characteristics in Umeå, Sweden or in the Facebook context among Umeå members. The purpose with this study is to investigate the effects of ad characteristics, personal consumption characteristics, and situational characteristics on positive affect and felt urge to buy impulsively. The characteristics consist of nine constructs; felt urge to buy impulsively, positive affect, promotional effect, atmospheric effect, impulse buying tendency, hedonic consumption, customized advertisement, time availability and money availability. To fulfill the purpose of this thesis, we conducted a quantitative study. In the quantitative study we conducted a web-based self-selected survey. The link to the survey was posted in four different Facebook groups and on our own Facebook pages. The link the survey was also distributed by flyers to randomly targeted people at Umeå University and Umeå center. By conducting a survey we were able to detect effects between the variables. When analyzing the results using regression analysis we concluded there are eight supported hypothesizes. The first multiple regression analysis showed that promotional effect, atmospheric effect, hedonic consumption tendency, customized advertisement and time availability had a significant positive effect on positive affect. In the second multiple regression analysis we concluded that hedonic consumption tendency and customized advertisement had a significant positive effect on felt urge to buy impulsively. The last regression analysis showed that positive affect had a significant positive effect on felt urge to buy impulsively. From the result we could confirm some of previous study’s findings and also contribute with new findings. We also suggest practical recommendations for companies using Facebook as an advertising channel, and how they can improve the advertising to make a good impression on the consumers.

Adult students in upper secondary education in ItalyCortinovis, Elia January 2018 (has links)
Upper secondary education has been identified by different institutions as the minimum educational threshold in a knowledge society, a necessary requirement for citizens of all ages to respond to the social changes driven by global technological innovation. Figures from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) unfortunately show that a large share of adult population in OECD countries still lack upper secondary qualifications. Italy appears in these statistics as one among the lowest ranking countries and provisions currently in place to bring adult citizens back to school still yield quite low numbers. This research aims at exploring the challenges to adult students' participation in upper secondary education in Italy examining the actual experience of a group of grown-up learners attending a public vocational school. The results of the inquiry are based on the analysis of semi-structured interviews framed in a qualitative research design. The study is grounded in a theoretical frame derived both from participation theories and from the capability approach. The main conclusion of the research is that successful participation and persistence in adult education require students’ expectations to be appropriately met by an attentive customized institutional support. To this respect, the research suggests recommendations in order to improve public information about provisions for grown-up students, to separate adult education from second chance teenage schooling and to customize adult learning through appropriate learning management tools.

Design of mechatronic products based on user-customized configuration : an application for industrial robots / Conception des produits mécatroniques basés sur la configuration personnalisée par l’utilisateur : application aux robots industrielsLi, Jing 28 August 2015 (has links)
In today's market, obtaining a variety of products through configuration design has become increasingly common. However, with the development of the market, customers have not only satisfied the company offering a variety of products, and more demands on participating in the process of configuration design by themselves, so that they can obtain fully personalized products. Customer participation leads to the changes of design process, company's management model, etc. Based on the above problem, this thesis takes industrial robot as an example, and studies the management issues related to the customer involved in the design, in order to address the contradiction between product diversification, personalized requirements and the long design cycle and high manufacturing costs. Firstly, Auser-customized configuration design pattern is presented. The theory source of user-customized configuration design pattern is introduced, and then the related concepts are expounded. The corresponding business mode of user-customized configuration design pattern is given, and the key technologies to realize business mode is studied. System dynamics models were established for user-customized configuration design business mode and for traditional business mode of industrial robots by Anylogic simulation software. Secondly, the component-based theory and method are studied, including the formal description of things, ontology representation, componentization and servitization. On this basis, the componentization description model is established for the product parts. And the model is represented as service-component. Next, the formation process and extension method of service-component are introduced. An example of industrial robot components modeling is analyzed, includingestablishing industrial robot domain ontology by protégé, describing, instantiating and extensing components. Thirdly, the industrial robot user-customized configuration design template is constructed, and users can obtain the industrial robot meeting constraints through parameters setting; The kinematics and dynamics analysis on template is taken by Simscape model, and the dynamic parameters is analyzed, and the finite element analysis on template is taken by ANSYS, including statics analysis and modal analysis. The parameters flow process in template is analyzed. Then taking industrial robot user-customized configuration design using configuration template as an example, the configuration template is analyzed in application. Fourthly, the internal algorithm of user-customized configuration design is researched. Platform-based and user-leading user-customized configuration design process is constructed, and then the internal algorithm to keep the design running smoothly is studied, including the degree of freedom determination, fuzzy demand calculation, and service-component configuration and the configuration program evaluation. A case analysis is also taken for the internal algorithm Finally, on the basis of the previous section, the prototype system design of the open design platform is taken. Based on system requirements analysis and system design, the main pages of the platform are designed, and the key functions are introduced .
