Η μέθοδος που ακολουθήθηκε περιγράφεται εκτενώς και όλο το λυλλεχθέν βιολογικό υλικό φυλάσσεται στην συλλογή αποξηραμένων δειγμάτων του Γεωπονικού Πναεπιστημίου Αθηνών (L.G.A.M.-A.U.A.).
The main goal of this dissertation was the study of representative islands of Cyclades in regard to the diversity of macrofungi (basidiomycetes, subphylum Agaricomycotina). In the frame of this work tha major islands of Cyclades Andros, Naxos and Amorgos were selected for field work. More than 1500 specimens were collected. described and studied as regards their macroscopic and microscopic features. The methodology is presented in details, while all the collected biological material is deposited in the fungarium of the Laboratory of General and Agricultural Microbiology of the Agricultural University of Athens (L.G.A.M.-A.U.A.).
The results of this study were the inventory of 450 taxa of basidiomycetes, belonging to 141 genera. Four species are new for science, six genera and `48 taxa of lower taxonomic level were recorded for the first time in Greece, while two species were recorded for the first time in European continent.

VII a. C. / Apollo\'s Amphora: a Study About Cycladic Greek \"Melian\" Pottery from 7th century B.C.Anisio Candido Pereira Filho 14 March 2012 (has links)
This study is about a particular kind of Greek vase pottery, called -Melian?, and has the Orientalizing Greek world as background. Beginning with an special one, the -Melian? Cycladic Apollo´s Amphora, the work is supported by an iconographic view with attention to all paintings in this vase. The Apollo´s Amphora is the axle of this master dissertation. It is an amphora from the second half of 7th century B.C. that is located today in the National Museum of Athens. So, the fundamental qualities that identify the -Melian? pottery is the aim, and not just this, but also her geographical distribution. The main corpus is compound by the Apollo´s Amphora and others Cycladic´s -Melian? vases that were found in the Purification Trench on Rheneia. We are looking for contacts and relations in common with Greece and Mesopotamia that could reflect in the elaboration of paintings, elaboration of images. These images figured actions, show characters, and a kind of epithets. They are gods, heroes, animals, mans and lotus´s flowers, trees, spirals, all together sharing the same space, the same superficie. It\'s about one special vase, and a delimited corpus. We know the limits of what can be sure and what is just an exercise of interpretation. The focus is the -Melian? Apollo´s Amphora. As important as the pottery are the textual references in the Greek literature and poetry like Homer and the others that belong to the main text.

Crustal Seismic Anisotropy and Structure from Textural and Seismic Investigations in the Cycladic Region, GreeceCossette, Élise January 2015 (has links)
In the first article, the seismic properties for a suite of rocks along the West Cycladic Detachment System (Greece) are calculated, using Electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) measurements and the minerals’ elastic stiffness tensors. Muscovite and glaucophane well defined crystallographic preferred orientation increases the seismic anisotropy. Maximum Pwave velocities have the same orientation as the Miocene extension and maximum S-wave anisotropy is subhorizontal, parallel with mineral alignment, suggesting strong radial anisotropy with a slow subvertical axis of symmetry. In the second article, teleseismic receiver functions are calculated for an array of stations in the Cyclades and decomposed into back-azimuth harmonics to visualise the variations in structure and anisotropy across the array. Synthetic receiver functions are modeled using the first order structural observations of seismic discontinuities and EBSD data. They indicate 5% of anisotropy with slow symmetry axis in the upper crust, and demonstrate the importance of rock textural constraints in seismic velocity profile interpretation.

L'impérialisme athénien vu des Cyclades (478-338 a.C.) / The Athenian imperialism seen from the Cyclades (478-338 a.C.)Bonnin, Grégory 08 September 2012 (has links)
This PhD thesis reveals the story of the relationship between Athens and the Cyclades during the Classical era, from the Persian Wars to the period of Delian Independence. Athenian Imperialism is questioned here from a new perspective, inspired by subaltern studies. Central to this book is the way the Islanders lived under Athenian domination: how they understood and perceived it and, ultimately, how they reacted to it. This study helps change our understanding of Athenian power, which until now has only ever been understood in terms of its coercive ways. Switching the focus is to restore an active role to the subalterns: with no means of resisting the intrusive Athenian hegemony, the Islanders accepted it and enjoyed the benefits of the pax Atheniensis. This work also offers the story of the creation of a new place, in which inhabitants assert their common identity under Athenian domination. In the minds of Athenians and islanders alike, the islands come to be known as the Cyclades.

J. -C.) / Researches on the Rituals of Heroization in the Greek World (from the Archaic Period to the Third Century AD).Carvalho, Paulo 17 September 2013 (has links)
If the heroes of Greek mythology are particularly well known historical figures themselves, are much less. Yet the phenomenon known as heroization concerned many characters. This study proposes to examine these characters for whom the historical existence is proven, and who had been assigned the status of heroes and thus accessing to the divine sphere benefited honors but also cults. This study also aims to understand all of these rites in connection with the hero and heroization. It also presents the evolution knew by this phenomenon during the period from the Archaic period to the third century AD. But also highlights the differences and similarities between the different regions and cities that composed the entire Greek world. This study also tries to learn more about the identity of these characters, who, for many of them remain unknown of the "great history." Yet these characters deserve special attention because their study singularly clarifies and provides a much better understanding of the religious life of the ancient Greeks.
