Ferrari, Juliano January 2016 (has links)
The incessant search for alternative ways and economically viable for the disposal of industrial waste brought to the civil construction sector several possibilities of appliance, particularly regarding the discarded foundry sand (DFS). However, recent researches suggest that sub products generated from this reuse of cluster faces entrance barriers by the consumer market. This essay describes the execution of a case study about the entrance barriers of concrete block made from discarded foundry sand in the civil construction sector at the city of Caxias do Sul (RS). The study was triggered by the verification of the resistance by the members of this sector towards the proposal product and Ramirez, Gonzalez and Moreira´s identification of theoretical model (2013), which confirms the verified marketing phenomenon. The research has been done in two phase, in the qualitative method: the first, throughout semi-structured interviews in three different units of analysis (supplier, dealer and specialist); and the second, with the completion of a focus group between members of the civil construction sector from the city of Caxias do Sul. Has been verified that, although there are barriers clearly identified in the researched sector the rejection on the proposal product occurred mainly by the lack of insertion strategies of the product in the consumer market by the manufacture company, which confirms the theoretical model used.

Analýza datového toku ve Fly-by-Wire systému / Analysis of Data Flow in the Fly-by-Wire System

Kubínová, Zuzana January 2010 (has links)

E-wallet For Empowerment?

Pekkari, Maja, Fransson, Veronica January 2022 (has links)
Digital Financial Services (DFS) such as mobile money apps, have become increasingly recognized as a tool to increase Financial inclusion. Access and usage of mobile money services are expected to be beneficial in more ways than one, but one desirable outcome is enabling women to have greater control over their own finances, and thus enhance Empowerment through increased participation in household decision-making. With data collected through a phone survey distributed to 189 women in Jordan, we attempt to investigate if E-wallets are effective in achieving Financial inclusion and, if we as a result, might see a positive effect on Women’s Empowerment. Impacts on Financial inclusion are measured through a description of how women use their E-wallets, along with an OLS-regression on the likelihood of saving. Empowerment effects are analyzed through a regression on different indicators meant to reflect decision-making in the household. We find some evidence that indicates that E-wallets users might be slightly more likely to have saved money in the last year, however, results regarding empowerment indicators are more unclear. When performing regressions on subsamples of unmarried women, and only employed women, we see some indications that the e-wallet might lead to an increased control of her own finances and expenditures, but this does not seem to translate significantly to other household purchases.

Segmentation and Customer Acquisition Strategies for MNC Providing Mobile Financial Services in Emerging Markets : A study on bKash in Bangladesh

Syeed, Kazi Abu, Emanuel Lopes Ribeiro de Melo, Nelson January 2022 (has links)
Aim: The aim of the study is to investigate the segmentation and customer acquisition strategies that a MNC offers in emerging markets to implement digital financial service.  The core purpose of the study would be to magnify two core research questions: 1 - How do MNCs segment customers to offer MFS in emerging markets? 2 - How MNCs offering MFS implement Customer Acquisition Strategies to be successful in emerging markets? Methodology: The methodology in this study is built on a qualitative method. The authors conducted semi-structured interviews when interviewing the bKash employees and the agents. Furthermore, different articles, publications, newspapers, websites & course books were also followed. Findings and Conclusion: From the results it was possible to conclude that MNCs in EMs follow all the steps of segmentation and customer acquisition examined in the theories. We ought to assume that MNCs providing MFS services in the EMs shall follow the traditional segmentation strategy. Channel strategy shall still be depending on the physical distribution for new customer acquisition. At the same time, customer awareness program, customer and channel education will drive towards a sustainable MFS business. This study can be used as a prescription to implement successful segmentation and customer acquisition strategies similar to EMs, especially in a context similar to Bangladesh. Contribution of the study: Regarding the theoretical contribution, the study introduces a framework that emphasizes a conventional approach to segmentation customer acquisition. It illustrates that a textbook strategy can be efficient. Also, to the practical contribution, physical distribution of quality based on regular training and incentives should be of top priority when selling innovative products, such as MFS, and communicating complex value propositions in EMs. Reflections on the study and suggestions for future research: The study has been done only in 1 successful MNC providing MFS service in one of the emerging countries, Bangladesh. A further study shall be done in other emerging countries especially in sub Saharan African region to validate this study.

Designing for User Engagement among Young Adults: : Applying Design Thinking to develop a Financial Dashboard / Att designa för användarengagemang bland unga vuxna: : Tillämpning av designtänkande för att utveckla en finansiell instrumentpanel

Lindborg, Emelie January 2023 (has links)
The rapid advancement of technology has led to evolving user needs and expectations, with a growing demand for efficient and intuitive digital experiences. Simultaneously, many young adults lack financial literacy, highlighting the need to enhance their understanding of personal finance and investment options. Bridging the generational gap and effectively engaging young adults in financial management is a significant challenge in the fintech industry. To address this, fintech companies must adapt their products to meet the specific needs of young adults. This study utilizes a design process to identify the needs and problems of young adults, aged 18 to 25, resulting in an interactive prototype of a redesigned financial dashboard. Applying the Design Thinking methodology, the research study gains a comprehensive understanding of users’ perspectives, enabling the creation of a user-centered design. Through qualitative evaluations of the prototype, this study demonstrates the impact of the redesigned financial dashboard on user engagement. Specific design elements that contribute to increased user engagement and perceived financial literacy are highlighted. This research offers valuable insights for the fintech industry to effectively engage young adults and enhance their financial literacy through tailored design solutions, ultimately improving their financial well-being.

Redesign of Gas Hydraulic Suspension for Product Service System : A Master Thesis Work at Strömsholmen AB

Ankarberg, Martin, Jilnö, Erik January 2018 (has links)
In these times, when manufacturing firms wonder how to integrate products and services into innovative offerings, how should products be designed to be of most value? This study is the investigation of this question for the manufacturing firm Strömsholmen AB, which designs gas springs and hydraulic suspension. The research has led to interviews of personnel to identify challenges and a workshop to generate new service ideas. By analyzing a specific gas hydraulic suspension product, this study shows that designing for product service systems (PSS) with a life-cycle perspective specifically for manufacturing, assembly, delivery, use, maintenance and remanufacturing, can greatly reduce costs and open up for innovative PSS business models. Using Design for Assembly, Design for Disassembly, Design for Serviceability and Design for Remanufacturing shows how concrete improvements to a product can be made. Improvements that show the potential of a redesign for the gas hydraulic suspension. Integrating products and services and pursuing the ideas and methods of this thesis, will ultimately make Strömsholmen better prepared to differentiate, to stay competitive, to deepen customer relations and to gain greater profits long-term.

Návrh a implementace nástroje pro formální verifikaci systémů specifikovaných jazykem RT logiky / Design and Implementation of a Tool for Formal Verification of Systems Specified in RT-Logic Language

Fiedor, Jan January 2009 (has links)
As systems complexity grows, so grows the risk of errors, that's why it's necessary to effectively and reliably repair those errors. With most of real-time systems this statement pays twice, because a single error can cause complete system crash which may result in catastrophe. Formal verification, contrary to other methods, allows reliable system requirements verification.

Finding Termination and Time Improvement in Predicate Abstraction with Under-Approximation and Abstract Matching

Kudra, Dritan 11 June 2007 (has links) (PDF)
The focus of current formal verification methods is mitigating the state explosion problem. One of these formal methods is predicate abstraction, which reduces concrete states of a system to bitvectors of true/false valuations of a set of predicates. Predicate abstraction comes in two flavors, over-approximation and under-approximation. A drawback of over-approximation is that it produces too many spurious errors for data-intensive applications. A more recent under-approximation technique which does not produce spurious errors, does abstract matching on concrete states (AMCS). AMCS adds behaviors to an abstract system by augmenting the set of initial predicates, making use of a theorem prover. The logic behind this approach is that if an error is found in the early coarse abstractions of the system, we save space and time. Our research improves AMCS by providing a refinement technique which guarantees termination. Our technique finds errors in less time and space by using an abstract state splitting algorithm based on intervals, which does not require a theorem prover.
