The purpose of this project was to create an original production scheme which will prove acceptable to the American audience. The production of Don Pasquale adhered to the following guidelines: (1) the production was adapted in terms of the American audience for which it was being performed, it was sung in English and all allusions to the opera's European origin were either omitted or altered to conform to the American stylization, (2) the adaptation of the opera centered around an American historical perspective, a point in American history with which the audience could nostalgically identify.

This creative project is the design and construction of costumes for the opera "Don Pasquale" using flat pattern, draping and fitting methods. This creative project enabled the author to gain an understanding of the methods and skills of the craft of costume construction with emphesis on short cuts for rapid construction and methods for making changes in costumes for future use.This project also involved a thorough study of the 18th century period costumes and textiles and the planning of each costume in relationship to the stage setting and lighting.

Em ambas as adaptações, o momento de produção foi extremamente importante para a reescritura do romance realista do século XIX e instaurou uma profunda e significativa relação entre história e sociedade para a compreensão das obras como realizações artísticas autônomas. A partir do conceito de adaptação de Hutcheon (2013) e dos estudos de Stam (2008) e (2013), este trabalho pautou-se pela compreensão do processo adaptativo que teve como suporte a atualização, ou seja, o transporte da narrativa literária para um novo contexto histórico; por exemplo, os anos seguintes à Segunda Guerra Mundial e o primeiro decênio do Terceiro Milênio, para analisar a forma como os filmes dialogaram com o texto adaptado e ampliaram seu próprio raio de ação ao atualizar a narrativa, ancorando-se nesta, mas projetando-se para engendrar novos sentidos e significações. Segundo a análise desse deslocamento temporal, no qual são inseridas questões de relevância para a atualidade, propiciando a identificação de elementos do presente histórico e da realidade por seu público alvo, foi possível concluir que a atualização proporcionou uma íntima conexão entre o momento de produção das obras cinematográficas e o transporte de elementos da realidade para a trama ficcional que alteraram profundamente os percursos interpretativos e determinaram as bases crítico-ideológicas das releituras produzidas, a finalidade das transformações dos textos e as estratégias de reconstrução dos sentidos para a construção de obras cinematográficas que se revelaram retratos de uma época e de uma sociedade para compor, ao lado do romance, um documento humano. / The novel I Malavoglia (1881), by Giovanni Verga, has been adapted twice to film: the first one, by the Milanese Luchino Visconti, in 1948, La terra trema: episodio del mare, important masterpiece of Italian Neorealism; and the second one by the Sicilian Pasquale Scimeca, in 2010, Malavoglia. For both adaptations, the moment of production was extremely important for the rewriting of a realistic novel from the XIXth century and instituted a deep and significant relationship between history and society to understand those works as autonomous artistic realizations. From Hutcheon’s concept of adaptation (2013) and Stam’s studies (2008 and 2013), this work was based on understanding the adaptation process supported by updating, i.e., the literary narrative transported to a brand new historical context, e. g, the years after World War II and the first years of the Third Millennium, to analyze the dialogues between the films and the adapted text and how they extended their own meanings when they brought the narrative up to date, holding on the novel but enlarging its overall signification. The analysis of that temporal dislodgement, in which it’s possible to find social questions relevant to the their moments of production, indicating and identifying historical and real elements to the audience, led us to conclude that the updating allowed an intimate connection between the moment of production of those cinematographic works and the transport of elements of reality to the fictional story that deeply changed the ways of interpretation and determined the critical and ideological bases of those rewritings, the final goal of those texts’ transformations and the strategies for reconstruction of the meanings to create films that revealed themselves to be portraits of the time and society, composing, side by side with the novel, a human document. / CNPq: 140717/2013-7

La recherche vise à revoir et analyser la situation du site archéologique de San Pasquale de Bova Marina (RC). Le site, découvert en 1983, a fait l'objet de fouilles archéologiques depuis 1985 qui ont révélé des structures légères de grande importance, parmi lesquelles se trouve un bâtiment classé comme une synagogue juive et daté du IVe siècle de notre ère. À côté de la structure juive ont été mis au jour d'autres bâtiments légers et deux zones de sépulture. Jusqu'à présent, la vie de la synagogue avait été datée du quatrième au sixième siècle de notre ère et les zones funéraires ont été mises en phase avec elle. Grâce à cette recherche, menée sur des documents et à travers une série de fouilles archéologiques, nous avons montré que la durée de vie de la synagogue ne va pas au-delà du milieu du Ve siècle et les deux cimetières ne sont pas reliés à elle. Nous reconstituons aussi plus précisément les différentes phases de la vie du bâtiment juif et leur développement. L'accent est mis sur des reconstructions tridimensionnelles de la mosaïque et de la salle de prière. Nous avons également constaté des différences profondes avec l'autre synagogue découverte en Italie, à Ostie, tandis que nous avons trouvé des points de contact avec les synagogues de la terre d'Israël, en particulier celles de la vallée de Beth Shéan. Le site de S. Pasquale di Bova Marina a donc connu une présence juive à partir du quatrième siècle jusqu’au milieu du cinquième lorsque la zone a continué à être utilisée principalement comme zone d'inhumation, puis l’arrêt de tout type de fréquentation au septième siècle, à l’instar d'autres sites sur la côte ionienne de la Calabre. / The research aims to reconsider and analyze the situation of the archaeological site of San Pasquale of Bova Marina (RC). The site, discovered in 1983, was the subject of archaeological investigations since 1985 and brought to light structures of great importance, among which is a building identified as a Jewish synagogue and dated to the fourth century of our era. Along with the Jewish structure, were brought to light other buildings and two burial areas. Until now, the life of the synagogue had been dated from the fourth to the sixth century of our era and burial areas were put in phase with it. Through this research, carried out on documents and through a series of archaeological excavations, we have shown that the life of the synagogue does not go beyond the middle of the fifth century and the two cemeteries are not connected to it. We also reconstruct more accurately the various phases of Jewish building life and their development. Fundamental point were the three-dimensional reconstructions of the mosaic floor of the classroom and of the hall of the prayer. We also found profound differences with the other synagogue discovered in Italy, at Ostia, while we found important points of contact with the synagogues of the Land of Israel, in particular those of the valley of Beth She'an. The site of S. Pasquale of Bova marina, then, saw a Jewish attendance from the fourth century to the middle of the fifth when the area continued to be used primarily as a burial area and then stop any type of attendance in the seventh century, as other sites places on the Ionian coast of Calabria.

The degree project has been implemented abroad in Brisbane, Australia. A literature study has beenperformed parallel to the practical work within the subject »Corporate identity through graphicaldesign«. In this study deeper research has been made concerning the establishment and manifestationof a corporate identity and its program. The knowledge given from this study has been put into practicethrough two larger projects.The first project was carried out at De Pasquale, advertising agency in Brisbane, where a corporateidentity program was designed for a new company. The company is a fitness centre, called KnockoutFitness, which specializes in different types of boxing training sessions such as Boxing, Thai Bow andBoxercise but also Aqua aerobics. They needed a full corporate identity program including a logotype,business card, letter paper-paper and address labels.The second project was carried out at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane. A promotioncampaign was designed for the Department of Visual Arts, which included two information folders andone advertisement. The purpose of the campaign was to promote both the undergraduate and postgraduatecourses offered within the department.

Here, there is a mapping of the insertion of sculptural monuments in the urban area of Salvador, such as Castro Alves ¿ work that marked the artist¿s consecration. [pt] Todas as religiões possuem no ato de reunir a sua melhor expressão para realizar o culto. No cristianismo, a reunião tem na convocação divina o seu motivo principal. O ato de reunir-se é, por assim dizer, a resposta à convocação realizada. O culto da Igreja se compreende na assembleia litúrgica, entendida como a primeira manifestação da fé cristã. Nela, os convocados se reúnem para uma experiência profunda de fé e transformação. Para que seja efetiva, se faz necessária a presença e ação dinamizadora do Espírito Santo na assembleia cristã. Com isso, está identificado o escopo de nossa pesquisa que será abordada em três capítulos. A assembleia litúrgica em chave pneumatológica fitou nesta pesquisa um itinerário bíblico-histórico-teológico-litúrgico-pastoral. Para tanto, este caminho percorreu no primeiro capítulo, a Escritura Sagrada. Nela, foram consideradas algumas das principais assembleias da história da salvação que tiveram vinculação com o Espírito Santo. No capítulo seguinte, averiguamos do período dos Padres da Igreja ao Concílio Vaticano II o desenvolvimento histórico da compreensão e práxis das reuniões celebrativas dos cristãos. Ao desfecho e, portanto, terceiro capítulo, reunimos os frutos colhidos da Escritura e da história para identificarmos alguns traços que a teologia hodierna tem investigado sobre esta relação orgânica entre a assembleia litúrgica e o Espírito Santo. Nel cristianesimo, la riunione trova nella convocazione divina la sua principale motivazione. L atto di riunirsi è come una sorta di risposta alla convocazione ricevuta. Il culto della Chiesa comprende questa realtà nell assemblea liturgica, intesa come la prima manifestazione della fede cristiana. In essa i chiamati si radunano per fare l esperienza profonda di fede e trasformazione. Affinché sia effettiva è necessario che nell assemblea cristiana ci sia la presenza e l azione dello Spirito Santo. Su questo tema vogliamo focalizzare lo scopo della nostra ricerca, che sarà svolta in tre capitoli. La nostra ricerca sul tema dell assemblea liturgica in chiave pneumatologica svolge un percorso biblico, storico, teologico, liturgico e pastorale. Il primo capitolo prende in esame la Sacra Scrittura per evidenziare le principali assemblee della storia della salvezza che hanno avuto un legame con lo Spirito Santo. Nel capitolo successivo si indaga il percorso storico dei Padre della Chiesa fino al Concilio Vaticano II, e quindi lo sviluppo storico della comprensione e prassi delle riunioni celebrative dei cristiani. Nel terzo capitolo, si riprendono i dati significativi trovati nelle Scritture e nell evoluzione storica per identificare alcuni elementi che la teologia e la liturgia attuale stanno ricercando sulla relazione organica fra assemblea liturgica e Spirito Santo. Scopo del nostro lavoro è recuperare questa tematica per offrire un piccolo contributo alla vita cristiana, che si stabilisce proprio a partire dalle assemblee nelle quali lo Spirito Santo rende viva, attuale e continuativa la storia della salvezza.
