Forsgren, Melinda, Kauppinen, Evelina January 2021 (has links)
The use of digital tools is expanding and taking up more and more space in society and in Swedish schools. Although solid research shows that students' learning benefits from digital tools, there are teachers who choose not to use it in their teaching. This study aims to create an understanding of digital tools and how they are used in mathematics teaching. The study also intends to investigate the opportunities and challenges that exist with digital tools. The empirical data of the study has been collected through interviews with active teachers in grades 1–6. The results indicate that teachers experience greater confidence in differentiating and varying mathematics teaching if they have knowledge of and within digital tools. Digital tools also contribute to students sometimes losing focus, as computers and tablets tends to cause distractions. The study concludes that teachers' knowledge of digital tools develops mathematics teaching for more students. Teachers, on the other hand, need to be clear about the purpose for which the digital tool is used and create rules that students must follow when using a digital tool.

Halilovic, Hari January 2021 (has links)
The aim of this study was to examine student´s and teacher´s experiences with digital tools and digital resources in Swedish schools. A qualitative method was used to interview both students and teachers in two different Swedish schools. The goal was to examine if the students experience that the use of digital tools and digital resources affected their learning in a positive or a negative way. In addition, a teacher’s perspective was included in the study to examine whether the teachers experience the use of digital tools and digital resources is an effective teaching method. The theoretical framework that was used in the study was a phenomenographic approach, which focuses on the respondents experiences. The result indicated that teachers and students experience it differently. There are both positive and negative effects with the use of digital tools and digital resources in school from teachers and students. / <p>Betygsdatum: 2021-05-28</p>

Art teachers’ visions and prerequisites for integrating digital technology in secondary school teaching.

Davey, Joseph January 2020 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to investigate how secondary school art teachers wish to use Information Communication Technology (ICT) in their lessons, what their circumstances are, and finally, what is important for a successful integration of ICT in art teaching. This qualitative study is based on three semi-structured interviews with secondary schoolart teachers. The interviews are analysed in two ways. Firstly, with a theory-driven contentanalysis and secondly by using the TPACK (Technology, Pedagogical and ContentKnowledge) and SAMR (Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, Redefinition) models. The results of this study show that teachers’ attitudes towards digitalisation have a greateffect on how ICT is integrated into their teaching. It also shows that not all art teachers have access to the required equipment to meet their needs, or the technological knowledge necessary to properly integrate ICT into their teaching. Additionally, this study shows that the Swedish National Agency for Education’s intentions with digitalisation in art teaching are not consistently met by all art teachers. This study shows that while art teachers require both the equipment that meets their needsand the technological knowledge to use this equipment, the most important factor in asuccessful integration of ICT into art teaching is the teachers pedagogical and didactic skills.

Inertia among Early Stage Employees towards New Technology in an International Sales Organization

Baldeon Eizaguirre, Maria Claudia, Haavisto, Mirjami January 2020 (has links)
According to previous studies, inertia towards new technology is broadly researched in established companies, specifically among senior employees. However, the existing literature leaves a research gap for inertia experienced among young employees, specifically in an organization that operates in the information technology industry. This study aims to investigate inertia among early stage employees towards new technology. The main purpose of this study is to answer the research question: How to overcome inertia of multinational early stage employees towards the new technology in their daily workflow in an international sales organization? To answer the research question, a qualitative research approach was chosen, and a single case study was conducted. The empirical data was gathered through semi-structured interviews. The scope of research is limited to the sales development representatives of Company A, who are based in EMEA. After the data collection, the analysis was carried out with a thematic coding approach. The findings showed that the managers are having tremendous responsibility when it comes to the adoption process of a new digital tool, and some of them are not showing interest towards the new technology. Hence, the lack of communication was concluded as the main cause of inertia among young employees. The authors created a framework for fighting against inertia (FAI). The use of FAI framework results in supporting the management team to overcome resistance towards new technology.

Ågefors, Albin January 2020 (has links)
Background: Today's society is becoming more efficient and digitized through the use of information and communication technology (ICT) and its digital tools. This also applies to health care. Nurses today are increasingly using ICT in their care work and the use of ICT is penalizing patients, nurses and the healthcare organization. Previous research shows how this digitalisation and efficiency improves, as well as what it has for affecting patients, patients' life situation and well-being. As ICT develops, the use of ICT needs to be continuously evaluated. Purpose: The aim is to create an overview of nurses' experiences of using ICT. Method: General literature review where six qualitative studies, three quantitative studies and one mixed method study have been analyzed. Result: The results show that nurses are mostly positive about the use of ICT. Negative aspects of the use of ICT are also experienced by the nurses. This is when they, among other things, find that the work situation and relationships with colleagues and patients are affected by the use of ICT in the care work. Conclusion: The phenomenon of ICT is complex and its digital tools are comprised of factors that greatly affect its users. Which means that nurses' attitudes to, experiences of using and actual use are affected. Integration and the use of ICT also affect nurses' work situation and the large healthcare organization.

In what Way does Digitization Affect the Individual Teacher’s Way of Teaching the Subject Home and Consumer Studies?

Holm, Victor January 2022 (has links)
Digital undervisning utövas i stor utsträckning. / The Swedish school system has undergone many changes, including the inclusion of digital aids ineducation. Increased usage of digital tools places demands on teachers where they must increase their digital know-how in step with development. Home and consumer studies (HCS) is not just a practical subject, which can make it beneficial to implementation of digital aids in teaching. The objective of this examination was to account for how the digital development has affected the individual Home and consumer studies teacher. A qualitative method has been used in the form of seven interviews with professional teachers in the subject Home and consumer studies, Mathematics/Science and English/Social studies during the autumn of 2021. The selection of teachers is based on the lack of available HCS teachers and that the other subjects refer to similar points of the curriculum. The interviews have been supported by a semi-structured interview guide. Data has been collected, processed, and analyzed using a qualitative content analysis. The results showed that all participants were positive to digitalized teaching. Time, planning, and IT knowledge were prerequisites for implementation in teaching. Digitization is considered to be both time-saving and time-consuming. Time for planning and acquiring knowledge about digital programs is a prerequisite for digitization in teaching. Digital teaching is practiced to a large extent. The digital aid could become a distraction for the students, and they easily lost focus. Differentiated teaching using digital aids could benefit some students.

Digitala verktyg och hjälpmedel inom universitetsutbildning : Hur påverkar digitaliseringen stress och psykisk ohälsa hos studenter? / Digital tools and aids within university education : How does digitalisation affect stress and mental illness in students?

Olskog, Engla, Åkerblom-Andersson, Christina January 2022 (has links)
In today's use of digital services and tools in universities and other types of higher education it is easy for us to look past the consequences these can have for the students using them. The digitalization that is happening in our environment is also happening to the highest degree within education in universities. Many students in both Swedish and other countries universities struggle with different problems because of both generalstress and stress because of a fast digitalization of said universities. The purpose of this study is to get a better understanding of the different ways that digital technology has become a bigger part of university education. We also want to find out what different kinds of mental issues that can occur from the stress that follows said education and digitalization within it and how this can appear and be perceived and experienced differently. Furthermore, this thesis is meant to bring forward different kinds of ways the digitalization can be used, for example through different digital tools by universities and other surroundings to help students who struggle with this to better handle their education and their lives. In the study we gathered information and statistics from several different scientific articles and other national and international reports. By merging this information, we were able to build a picture of how the situation looks when it comes to stress and mental health connected to digitalization of education. From this picture we could then put together a result in the form of a list of conclusions about what is happening, why it is happening and what can be done to prevent it.

Leveraging External Sources of Innovation with the Application of Collaborative Software Tools : The case of SMEs

Nilsson, Fanny, Sturedahl, Jennifer January 2021 (has links)
Background – Leveraging external sources of innovation (ESI) is found to be vital for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) innovation work as they commonly suffer from a lack of resources to facilitate and execute this work. The interaction with the external environment does, in turn, enable access to knowledge and capabilities that SMEs currently not possess. Moreover, as collaborative software tools (CSTs) have proven to play a critical role in today’s innovation processes and have transformed the way of interacting with the external environment, it becomes obvious that research in this field must account for the usage of these tools. CSTs have a significant impact on communication, cooperation, and coordination and are, therefore, widely used to facilitate collaborations in intra-organizational groups. Thus, these tools can be beneficial for SMEs as it provides them with greater access and availability to the external environment. Purpose – This research aims to understand how SMEs can leverage external sources of innovation with the application of collaborative software tools and develop fruitful insights that can be used to facilitate innovation work for SMEs that typically lack internal resources.  Method – This study approaches the underlying philosophy of a relativist ontology, a social constructionist epistemology, and iterative grounded theory. For the methodology, empirical data was collected through 31 semi-structured interviews with participants from SMEs and their ESI in the region of Jönköping County following a purposive sampling method. The empirical data was further analyzed by conducting a grounded theory strategy for process analysis. Findings – We develop two processes illustrating how SMEs can leverage ESI with the application of CSTs. It was found that the application of CSTs in these processes enables SMEs to explore, acquire, and utilize information and knowledge from ESI in ways that previously have not been possible. By providing new ways of communicating and cooperating, CSTs facilitate the activity of sourcing knowledge and resources from ESI. Consequently, the SMEs are provided with new knowledge and resources that, in turn, improve and enhance the development of innovations. Thereby we contribute to an understanding of how SMEs can leverage ESI in the 21st century.
