Previous issue date: 2017-08-14 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This academic work is devoloped from the debate of light as an artistic autonomous language in contemporary art and ponders over the questions that this autonomy proposes. To introduce this debate a bibliographical research was made concerning light in visual arts, across different historical periods, within the interdisciplinary scope in which the technologies and languages are approached. However, the investigation in this dissertation is focused on the study of the experiences and works by renowned and active artists in the contemporary Brazilian scene: the duo Mirella Brandi x MuepEtmo and the artist Luiz duVa. The research presented here involves these contemporary artist’s critical fortune, along with unpublished interviews with the three artists during the year of 2016 and the first semester of 2017. To show the autonomy of light in their artworks, readings of the Trilogia das Cores (Color Trilogy 2010-2015), light and sound performances by the duo Mirella Brandi x MuepEtmo that research the narrative potential of these elements, along with the luminous installation Espaço Alter[ado] (Alter[ade] Space 2014-2015) and the live experiences PULSAR (PULSATE 2014-2015) by Luiz duVa were conducted. In the final considerations, this academic work shows that the light perceived and worked by the artists has an autonomous character, because it can be considered as the main element in their work. It is also believed that the light in their works sparks the debate on the issues such as narrative, materiality, the spectator’s perception and the challenges in the documentation.
No
entanto a investigação desta dissertação tem como foco o estudo das experiências e trabalhos
de artistas reconhecidos e atuantes no cenário brasileiro contemporâneo: a dupla Mirella
Brandi x MuepEtmo e o artista Luiz duVa. A pesquisa aqui apresentada envolve a fortuna

: Centerpartiets försvarspolitik 1912-2015 / Hold the border! : The Swedish Centre Party's Defence Policy 1912-2015Ahlqvist, Nils January 2016 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to describe the Swedish Centre Party’s defense policy between the years 1912-2015. and try to outline potential ideological changes in their politics during the same period. An ideology analysis is employed for the purpose. The analysis is carried out by a method based on ideological ideal types, to which the Swedish Centre Party’s defense policy through history are compared to. The ideological ideal types ”liberalism” and ”realism” are aiming to describe the international defense policy, whilst the ideal types ”doves” and ”hawks” are aiming to describe the national defense policy. The use of ideal types, as it is done in this study, is to be seen as a way to bridge the gap between everyday policies and more abstract ideology. The result of this study shows that not only has an ideological change taken place in the Swedish Centre Party’s defense policy during the course of history; three major changes are identified and described. The study also shows that the Swedish Centre Party has made an ideological travel from being isolationistic pacifists pre-World War I to approaching a more liberal hawk-influenced defense policy in the 21th Century.

GIANT voice : An alternative destiny for city glitchesTang, Yuqing January 2024 (has links)
My degree project aims to find an alternative destiny to the city glitches- the forgotten industrial buildings which are constantly being torn down. All the memories, the urban creatures that nest inside them, are considered disposable in city planning. The aim of this project is not to stop urban development but to create spaces where this endless force magically stops, a bubble of “utopia”, where the urban beings take their own time to flourish, undisturbed. I focus my project on the abandoned factory house Nitrolackfabriken in the southern part of Stockholm, a building threatened with demolition. I went through three stages in the design process: first background research, second a design proposal about turning the building into a functional culture house, and lastly landed on a design intervention where I gave up the previous culture house proposal, refused it on behave of the building itself, and gave the house back to what is already inside. I created three design interventions in this new part of the project: the garden, the pond, and the fire room. I see the building and all the small beings nesting inside as part of an intertwining relationship, a living being, a “GIANT.” I abstracted her into a human-like shape, wishing to create an emotional resonance between the GIANT and us. To remind us that we are all part of this complexity.
