Střelnice & lasergame aréna „Eagle eye“ / Shooting range & lasergame arena "Eagle Eye"Javůrek, Martin January 2018 (has links)
The subject of this project is a new building of a shooting range and lasergame arena in Brno, district Královo pole. The aim of the thesis is to create a documentation for realization of a shooting range and lasergame arena. It is a stand-alone two-storey building without the basement. The building is based on piled foundations, the construction system is reinforced concrete frame, infill material is light concrete brick. There is an exception: in the tunnel shooting range, there are monolithic reinforced concrete walls. The ceilings above the first floor are made also of reinforced concrete, the ceiling above the second floor / roof is made of pre-stressed reinforced concrete roof panels of spiroll type. There is flat, single-layer roof. The walls are designed as double-layered, contact-insulated with fiber-cement cladding.

COMBUSTION CHARACTERISTICS OF ADDITIVELY MANUFACTURED GUN PROPELLANTSAaron Afriat (10732359) 05 May 2021 (has links)
<p>Additive manufacturing of gun
propellants is an emerging and promising field which addresses the limitations
of conventional manufacturing techniques. Gun propellants are manufactured
using wetted extrusion, which uses volatile solvents and dies of limited and
constant geometries. On the other hand, additive techniques are faced with the challenges
of maintaining the gun propellant’s energetic content as well as its structural
integrity during high pressure combustion. The work presented in this thesis demonstrates
the feasibility of producing functioning gun propellant grains using vibration-assisted
3D printing, a novel method which has been shown to extrude extremely viscous materials
such as clays and propellant pastes. At first, the technique is compared to
screw-driven additive methods which have been used in printing gun propellant
pastes with slightly lower energetic content. In chapter two, diethylene glycol dinitrate (DEGDN), a
highly energetic plasticizer, was investigated due to its potential to replace
nitroglycerin in double base propellants with high nitroglycerin content. A
novel isoconversional method was applied to analyze its decomposition kinetics.
The ignition and lifetime values of diethylene
glycol dinitrate were obtained using the new isoconversional method, in
order to assess the safety of using the plasticizer
in a modified double base propellant. In chapter three, a modified double base
propellant (M8D) containing DEGDN was additively manufactured using VAP. The
printed strands had little to no porosity, and their density was nearly equal
to the theoretical maximum density of the mixture. The strands were burned at
high pressures in a Crawford bomb and the burning was visualized using high
speed cameras. The burning rate equation as a function of the M8D propellant as
a function of pressure was obtained. Overall, this work shows that VAP is
capable of printing highly energetic gun propellants with low solvent content,
low porosity, with high printing speeds, and which have consistent burning
characteristics at high pressures. </p>

The Characterisation of Putative Nuclear Pore-Anchoring Proteins in Arabidopsis thalianaCollins, Patrick January 2013 (has links)
The nuclear pore complex (NPC) is perhaps the largest protein complex in the eukaryotic cell, and controls the movement of molecules across the nuclear envelope. The NPC is composed of up to 30 proteins termed nucleoporins (Nups), each grouped in different sub-complexes. The transmembrane ring sub-complex is composed of Nups responsible for anchoring the NPC to the nuclear envelope. Bioinformatic analysis has traced all major sub-complexes of the NPC back to the last eukaryotic common ancestor, meaning that the nuclear pore structure and function is conserved amongst all eukaryotes. In this study Arabidopsis T-DNA knockout lines for these genes were investigated to characterise gene function. Differences in plant growth and development were observed for the ndc1 knockout line compared to wild-type but gp210 plants showed no phenotypic differences. The double knockout line gp210 ndc1 was generated through crosses to observe plant response to the knockout of two anchoring-Nup genes. No synergistic affect from this double knockout was observed, suggesting that more, as yet unidentified Nups function the transmembrane ring in plants. The sensitivity to nuclear export inhibitor leptomycin B (LMB) was tested also for knockout lines, although growth sensitivity to the drug was not observed. Nucleocytoplasmic transport of knockout lines was measured in cells transformed by particle bombardment. To express fluorescent protein constructs actively transported through the NPC, localisation of protein determined the nucleocytoplasmic transport of the cell. The ndc1single knockout and the double knockout gp210 ndc1 exhibited decreased nuclear export. Further experiments in determining NDC1 localisation and identification of other Nups in the transmembrane ring sub-complex would bring a more comprehensive understanding to the plant NPC.

Problematika testování stříkaných betonů / The Issue of testing shotcreteŠkapová, Pavla January 2014 (has links)
The master‘s thesis focuses on testing the shotcrete prepared in laboratory conditions. The main observed properties are compresive strenght of shotcrete and modulus of elasticity. The aim is assessment of methods for measuring those parameters. The calibrating correlations for strenght characteristics of shotcrete are given by obtaining the results of used methods. The shotcrete composition, amount and type of accelerating additive as well as economic aspect of using shotcrete is also assessed.
