La fraternité en Christ : fondements de l’être ecclésial et son incidence africaine / Brotherhood in Christ : theological bases of ecclesial being and its african incidence

Nongo Aziagbia, Nestor Désiré 02 July 2012 (has links)
All the talk about relativism points out the difficulties related to the Church in a more globalised world. The ecclesial institution is no longer in the heart of the social organization. The Church has to make a way for herself in the midst of a constellation of systems which are, at times, put in competition one with the other. That raises ineluctably a question about the Church. What can one say about Her ? The Bible does not frankly answer the question, except that it offers several metaphors that have been more or less successfully taken by theologians. They constitute as many ecclesial models. These various representations convey a certain image of the Church and what she stands for. No paradigm seems to carry a unanimous vote. However the brotherhood presents more advantages than the others. That is why we consider it to be the best expression of the Church. lt is from this point of view that we have formulated the problematic of our essay on "Brotherhood in Christ: theological bases of ecclesial being and its African incidence". While combining the structural dimension with the brotherly feelings, the theology of the brotherhood surpasses the dead ends linked only with the institution on one hand and the virtues of the other. It goes beyond the limits set by human traditions. Indeed Church-Fraternity is primarily factor of relations. It connects man to God and draws closer people one to another. This doctorate thesis is the deepening of the research I started while I registered for the Master programme. It deals with the criteria for recognition of true ecclesial characters, which is ecclesiality. For some, the Church is a heavy legal machine, without heart and soul that crushes everything in its path. She makes her weight felt. Otherwise she does not manifest any compassion to those who do not comply with her guidelines. This Church seems distant and indifferent to people and their concerns. For others, the Church manifests the ideal of community life between women and men who answered the call of Jesus, have submitted their will to Him and made themselves his disciples. This is the picture one can get from the narrative of the Acts of the Apostles. This primitive communism was the specificity of the nascent community of Jerusalem. Instead Jesus directs people to the knowledge of the Father and leads them into a filial relationship. It then clearly appears that people are brought into a changed relationship. This is the dimension of the adoptive filiation by which they are recognized God's children, sisters and brothers in Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, and brother and sister vis à-vis others. This fraternity embraces everyone. Indeed filiation or being a direct descendant of someone establishes henceforth a new relationship in Jesus Christ. This community of sisters and brothers is realized only in the Holy Spirit. The Church, as a Fellowship, differs from any other company, for its social cohesion is based on the Gospel.

This procedure is justified because of the importance of the issue to the theology of the Catholic Church, once deeply rooted in Scripture and Tradition and its Magisterium, as well as the need to approach the theme of conjugal love in the world today as an instrument of evangelization. Hypothesized that the Vatican did not give importance to the issue as a hermeneutical principle. Having established the veracity of the hypothesis, proposed the re-issue of spousal love their ecclesial communion interface such as communication path of Catholic theology to the scientific world and society today / A presente pesquisa bibliográfica estudou a abrangência e os limites da esponsalidade eclesial na Constituição sobre a Igreja do Concílio Vaticano II.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Celso Luiz Tracco.pdf: 642808 bytes, checksum: aa72383a321cac39dd3419a6b03056da (MD5) Previous issue date: 2014-02-25 / The main goal of this research is to study the evangelization model of urban performed by the Basic Ecclesial Communities. During the European occupation of the American continent, especially in Brazil, the metropolis carried out a violent imposition of habits, culture, religion and political system on their colonies. The process of evangelization was very much alike, compulsory and with no room for discussions, even though there was absolutely no concern in creating a deep general knowledge of faith. In Brazil, during the colonial and imperial periods, all persons were born catholic by imperial decree. This study assumes that religion must be seen as a part of a social, political and economic context, hence, the research includes the socioeconomic and political building of the Brazilian society. The evangelization model proposed by the Basic Ecclesial Communities is a Brazilian phenomenon, typical of the country s culture and with its origins in the lower and excluded classes. This model would not be possible without the social changes and the opening of the church as an institution to those changes, which took place in Brazil during the mid-20th century. A new, groundbreaking, form of evangelization was only possible thanks to the initiative of a clergy concerned with the poor social conditions of its people. This study intends to understand the scope of this evangelizing method and its possible extent nowadays. The evangelization led to a reflection of the existential reality and also to a political questioning, until then dominated by the Brazilian elites. This political extrapolation from the traditional channels of the church was strongly criticized by traditionalist sectors of power. Also, the new evangelizing experience was put under judgment by the ecclesiastical authorities. This study intends to investigate if the Basic Ecclesial Communities model - a new model of church, a people s church has a place in the evangelization of today s society / O objetivo desta pesquisa é estudar um modelo de evangelização nos centros urbanos a partir da experiência originária das Comunidades Eclesiais de Base.

For that delineate some reflections on the Catholic Church, your message and the comprehension of this last by the followers. We understand that there are a strong influence of the proposed models by self-comprehensions of Church on the set of the Catholic followers, this influence stumbles, or even, for in the new interpretations elaborated by the followers on the speeches of Church. In synthesis, between ear of the faithful and the mouth of the institution there is certainly space more than enough for new signification of that that was transmitted.

Juarez Dornelles de Oliveira 02 January 2011 (has links)
The objective of the research was to analyze the text in the Letter to the Christian Community of Ephesus. (Ap 2,1-7), the general literary characteristics, the structure, the literary genre, the purpose, the context of the community in its Christian way of life, the challenges and responses during persecution in the Roman Empire and in the adversity of religious pluralism in the post-apostolic time (96-130 AD), thus building some ways to help the present Christian communities to face their own challenges. By means of a bibliographical approach, a study review was conducted, based on the axis text-context, with the adoption of content analysis on two levels: critical or contextual analysis and text analysis. The first chapter presents the historical context in which the text was produced: time and sociopolitical, economic and religious reality in Asia Minor and in the city of Ephesus in the 1st century AD, the persecution and religious plurality of the Christians in the Ephesians community, during the post-apostolic period. The chapter also brings the reflections of the historical moment of persecution and religious plurality in the practice and life of the Christians in the Ephesians community, in order to help elucidate the steps they took to respond to the challenges caused by the persecution in the Roman Empire and the religious plurality in Asia Minor. The second chapter is about the general literary characteristics, the origin and the formation of the apocalyptic movement, the time, the place, the addressees, the structure, the literary genre and the purpose of the text in Ap 2,1-7. The third chapter presents the analysis of the path taken by the Base Ecclesial Communities in Brazil and in the Diocese of Rondonopolis MT, the reflection and the construction of some responses, in light of Ap 2,1-7, of how communities may respond to the present challenges. Looking at the third generation of Christian communities has been an analytical exercise, inspiring alternatives for community life that need to be built in face of the challenges posed to Christians in our time. The text in Ap 2,1-7 may be taken as a parameter, for it reveals our Christian identity, an identity that should not be subject to change in adverse times and that should lead us to a more enthusiastic testimony and fidelity in following Jesus.

Contemporary evangelicalism, ecclesiology and ecclesial regeneration

Delotavo, Alan J 03 October 2006 (has links)
To summarize:

Contemporary Evangelicalism is not merely a momentary or reactionary movement, but the full-grown of the long process of Pneumatic operation in restoring Christian Faith back to its prototypal theological structures.

Contemporary Evangelicalism presents a distinct ecclesiology descriptive of the structures of the prototype ekklesia that has been historically marred; thus Contemporary Evangelicalism is restorative of the prototypal ecclesiological structures.

The peoplehood of God, or in the particular New Testament context, the peoplehood of Christ—is the very identity of the church, and the very identity that Contemporary Evangelicalism presents to the church in the present times; thus Contemporary Evangelicalism is restorative of the original ecclesial identity.

Now, to inversely synthesize, God called Noah and his family because they were still obedient to God. God called Abraham because he had that inclination to be faithful to God. God called Lot because he still had that God-consciousness. God called Israel because they still believe on the one Creator-God. Then God called the Christian church because it is composed of people who believe in Jesus Christ. Thus, here we see the fidestic response factor throughout God’s historical calls. God call a people because they are those who respond to him in faith. Whenever such faith response waned, God chooses another people who, again, could respond to him in faith. Thus the existence and life of the ekklesia is co-existent with its fidestic response to God. The moment it stops responding to God in faith, it loses its ekklesiality. It is in this context, that Contemporary Evangelicalism emerges as the climactic phase of God’s historical ekklesiality. Contemporary Evangelicalism presents before the church the prototypal theological and ecclesiological framework of Christian Faith. As such, while presenting this prototypal framework, it also poses a call for the restoration the prototypal structures in the present theological and ecclesiological framework of Christian Faith. But the call necessitates a wholehearted response of faith. Thus, Contemporary Evangelicalism, in essence, is the call for the New Reformation of Christian Faith, the New Reformation of Christian church, back to its prototypal structures. When Christians and the Christian church fail to heed this call, Christianity could, again, lose a great and blissful opportunity to be more truly God’s people, to be more truly the people of Christ, in the present time nearing the parousia. It is prayerful hope that this work would spark a global conflagration of New Reformation! / Thesis (PhD (Systematic Theology&Ethics))--University of Pretoria, 2007. / Dogmatics and Christian Ethics / unrestricted

Child defilement in Ecclesial contexts in Zambia : a pastoral perspective

Banda, Pearson January 2016 (has links)
This study is an explorative, qualitative study on how mothers experience the defilement of their own children by a church leader in the Zambian context. The aim of the study is to get some insight into how the defilement affect the mothers, and the challenges that occur in their lives regarding their relationships with their defiled children and other people who are around them. The researcher also looks at how the role of motherhood has been affected by the defilement. Qualitative research methodology was employed in this research study. This enabled the researcher to understand the social constructions of mothers and how they experience the disclosure of defilement of their children by a church leader. The researcher used semi-structured interview to collect data from the eight mothers affected by child defilement who were selected from within Lusaka, the capital city of Zambia. Thematic Analysis as a method of data analysis was employed in this research study. In employing this form of analysis, the researcher identified major concepts or themes that came up during the discussions with the interviewed mothers. The following are the themes that came out of the data that was provided by the affected mothers: Loss of religious faith, less trust in the church leaders, dissatisfaction of their parenting role, Feelings of anger towards the perpetrator, feelings of guilt, feelings of shame, marital problems, relationship problems with their daughters, concerned that their children might have contracted HIV and AIDS, and worried that their children have lost their virginity. In this research study, the researcher has used Gerkin‘s shepherding method of pastoral care to address the emotional experiences of the mothers following disclosure of defilement of their children by a church leader. This methodology is helpful because it provides an integrated approach to healing that is enculturated in the African belief system and culture, which views healing as taking place within the community and not in isolation. Gerkin‘s shepherding methodology is augmented by Waruta and Kinoti‘s work, Pastoral Care in African Christianity and Pollard‘s evangelism method of positive deconstruction. These three methodologies have been employed to help in empowering the mothers to come to terms with the effects of child defilement by a church leader. / Thesis (PhD)--University of Pretoria, 2016. / Practical Theology / PhD / unrestricted

"Que esta misa nos haga soñar": In(ter)culturación litúrgica y la recepción nuestramericana de Sacrosanctum Concilium / "May This Mass Have Us Dream": Liturgical In(ter)culturation and the NuestrAmerican Reception of Sacrosanctum Concilium

Potter, Laurel Marshall January 2024 (has links)
Thesis (PhD) — Boston College, 2024. / Submitted to: Boston College.
