Previous issue date: 2018-04-30 / Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento Cient?fico e Tecnol?gico - CNPq / The occupational activity of Social Educators has its origin in the actions of popular social movements of the 1950s and 1960s. Currently, these workers represent a large part of workforce in the execution of public policies in Brazil, mainly Social Assistance. Considering the context of regulation of its activity in Brazil, this work investigates what are the social recognition demands of the Social Educators of Porto Alegre. For this, it seeks, in the Sociology of Professions, to cover a sociologic deficit identified in the national discussion about regulation, distinguishing occupations from professions; it presents the Axel Honneth?s Theory of Recognition as an analytical model to identify, within the content of social discourse, the demands for recognition and to analyze its normative validity; it sketches a history of the conformation of the occupational activity of Social Educators in Brazil, demonstrating that this identity is distinct, but not antagonistic, from the Popular Educators; and, finally, it analyzes the speech of Social Educators of Porto Alegre in interviews and in debates about the themes of their initial formation, practices and working conditions and regulation of their occupational activity in Brazil, having the Theory of Recognition as an analytical guide. The main demand for recognition identified was the society's knowledge of the activities carried out by Social Educators in such a way that people recognize them as work, not charity or volunteering. They demand from their colleagues, workers of categories already professionalized, the recognition of equity of their theoretical and practical contributions for the good development of activities in teams that operate in multiprofessional cooperation model, which also indicates a desire for greater autonomy in their occupational practices. Of the contracting institutions and State, they demand better working conditions, such as: reduction of working hours, mental health care, additional salaries (painfulness), and higher income. It was also observed the lack of knowledge of the Social Educators of Porto Alegre about the process of regulating their occupational activity in Brazil as well of the national discussion about the process.

institution and his pedagogic practice set by the institution. It also aims to identify the
educator???s profile; to recognize his features by keeping up with his assignments
closely. Lastly, the aim is to identify the need concerning the educator???s professional
background in order to better approach the pupil. This research is focused on the
educator; an educational agent figure well acknowledged worldwide, it is though still
unknown in Brazil. The research took place in Ceil??ndia, in an NGO which promotes
culture and peace; this institution aims to support the pupils and to prevent them from
vulnerability and social risk. The goal is to insert them into the society. The research
intends to contribute to the educator???s professional consolidation from resources
offered by the Catholic University of Brasilia, supported by the Youth, Education and
Society UNESCO cathedra, which is engaged to spread of Human rights and to
promote social inclusion in their projects. That given study is qualitative focused on
the studied group, which was given a questionnaire. The study has its foundation on
researches already done by authors of Social pedagogy, focusing the practice on the
professional. Social pedagogy is a scientific issue, which will provide Social
Education with tools, it is practice. However, one is connected to the other even
when they differ discursively (Pedagogy) in order to attempt to a support in practice
(Education). It is about setting professional spot and discourse; they harmonize with
the social view. Among the results acquired are the educator???s assignment at the
institution, this is reigned by Dom Bosco???s principles and is in line with Children???s law,
those institutions work together in order to develop the pupil. The research made it
able to comprehend the educator???s thought on a NGO, Who they are, what they
want. Social educators show a profile that accentuates some qualities such as
human sensitivity, perseverance, empathy, religious nature of inspiration. The most
significant assignments relate to the need to define their roles and positions, the
ability to solve problems, using new technologies and adapt to new environments.
They manifest expectations of an improvement course in socio-educational area that
meets the academic needs improvement, which has a philosophical line based on
the principles of Don Bosco education, and deepen preventive education.

Previous issue date: 2015-12-04 / It was proposed in the present study to investigate the relationship between perceptions of teacher self-efficacy and social emotional support of graduating students of pedagogy and beginner teachers in early childhood education or in the early years of elementary school. The teaching self-efficacy refers to the teacher's confidence in their own abilities to perform teaching activities associated with perceived social support that can help the adaptation of the individual during the transition to teaching. It is understood that this transition is not finished with the completion of graduation, it extends until the first years of teaching practice. The total sample consisted of 281 participants. The scale was composed of three parts: [1] Teacher Beliefs Scale - short version, [2] Inventory of Emotional Support in the Transition to Teaching (IAETD) and [3] Participants Characterization Questionnaire. The results obtained by means of confirmatory factor analysis indicated evidence of instrument validity and good internal consistency in the factors. The better adjusted models presented the teacher's self-efficacy in three factors: efficacy in instructional strategies (EIS) effectiveness in managing classroom (EMC) and efficacy in student engagement (ESA); the social and emotional support to two factors: emotional support and professional support. It was found that training in public or private institutions does not imply distinctions in perceptions of the teacher self-efficacy and the social emotional support for both groups. However, when related to sex, women had greater efficacy in student engagement than men in both groups. Among teachers, those without postgraduate degrees demonstrated higher self-efficacy to motivate students than teachers with postgraduate degrees. Teachers with plans to stay in teaching careers felt themselves more professionally supported than those with plans to switch careers. It was also found that the older the teachers, the lower the self-efficacy for managing the classroom and lower the perception of professional support. In the group of students, the ones who were working were perceived to be more effective in managing the classroom than students that were not working. Finally, the weak relationships between the variables of teacher self-efficacy and social emotional support in both groups reinforced the prospects of the multidimensionality of these phenomena, indicating that other factors are combined in this relationship in the transition to teaching. Along these lines, new studies can address the dynamics and direction of these relationships in the development of teachers.

Previous issue date: 2005-05-13 / Coordena??o de Aperfei?oamento de Pessoal de N?vel Superior / This essay presents and discusses knowledge obtained through tradition taken as knowledge built along generations, transmitted from mouth to mouth and everyday experiences result of a non-scientific knowledge based on observation and hints given by more experient generations. The referred icon used to develop such a discussion in this essay is fishing. We point out the knoledge which enables the fishermen, among other dominions, to: find out the fish and other animals feeding habits; find their way through by astral influence during night navigation and learn the tide flowing based on the moon cycle. On what comes to fishing knowledge, the research was organized based on a bibliographic study about several ways of fishing in the Northern, Northeastern, Southern and Southestern regions of Brazil. In the Northern and Northeastern regions, the field research was also focused. Having interviews, photographs and films as reference, this part of the research was divided into two parts: the first one situated in the Amazonian Region in na area called Baixo-Tocantins, in the State of Par? where we worked with fishermen in the small towns of Abaetetuba and Igarap?-Miri; and the second one was held in the Northeastern region of Brazil, in the State of Rio Grande do Norte, where we worked with fishermen on the Piat? Lake, in the small city of Ass?. We tarted discussing based on a descriptive study of the fishing techniques used, aiming to identify them as an ordered activity, differed and classified by knoledge obtained through the years, based on the relationship between man and Nature. Creativity, stimulated by human curiosity, is also discussed and shown as a result of various fishing journeys. The myths, as a component of the fishing world, especially those which describe the relationship between men and waters, also have an outstanding place. At last, two fishing techniques belonging to the research field reference, are also described and analysed under the focus of construction and systematization of the knowledge related to fishing. The theory approach is based on reflection upon the tradition knowledge discussed by Almeida (2001), Balandier (1997), C?mara Cascudo (1957, 2000, 2002) and Claude L?vi-Strauss (1976, 1987 and 1991).

Previous issue date: 2004-08-06 / Coordena??o de Aperfei?oamento de Pessoal de N?vel Superior / The plot myth-techno-logic, contemporary, was developed starting from the dualism myth-reason. In this study, we deepened the alluded dualism taking as reference the historical contexts of the Renaissance and of the Enlightenment, emphasizing the discussion of the economical rationalization as conductive thread of the western development, in which we identified the game of the rational and of the irrational, for assure the superiority of the reason. In the context of that game, we analyzed the implications of the modernization, for the education, in function of the instrumental rationality, responsible for the environment of adaptation of the technological instruments to the scenery of the contemporary modernization. The new context is constituted by points of union and of ruptures among the technique, the science and the myth. Through our analysis, we noticed that the basic needs for the contemporary society were linked to the changes in the production means, for which the machine determine the rhythm of the work and the quality of the product. However, the changes in the productive processes promoted the appearance of the commercial marks that, as we see it, they represented the synthesis of the perfect harmony of the myth, of the technique, of the science and of the technology, in the conduction of the economical rationalization to the contemporary modernization. Thus, the contemporary modernization it arrives us for the economical rationalization, developed with the support of the technician-scientific knowledge and communicated by the articulations of the myth-techno-logical / A trama mito-tecno-l?gica, contempor?nea, foi desenvolvida a partir da dicotomia mito-raz?o.
