This paper work aims to historically investigate drawing as a qualification discipline for primary school teachers and as subject of primary school since João Pinheiro Reform in 1906. This reform established the standards for the group schools in Minas Gerais. The research source is the educational legislation from the late 19 century, namely Benjamin Constant Reform, Mineira Reform in 1898 and João Pinheiro Reform. Two pairs of analyses have been used to develop the mentioned research. They are: elements and rudiments, general formation and professional formation. These concepts are addressed to the drawing purposes in each moment, and in every formation level. We have looked for references concerning the proposed historic production by Marc Bloc, as well as from the inputs based on the history of school subjects of André Chervel, from Julia’s contributions related to school culture. Referring to the mathematics education history, we consulted Wagner Valent due to his importance for debating the concepts of the Mathematics education cultural history. As an overall assessment, we have found in the regulation that portrays the Reform João Pinheiro, some required teachings for Drawing instruction that indicate some utilitarian-practical schooling, which aim the professional formation.

Conclui-se, enfim, que a disciplina em foco, já naquela época, passava a ser defendida como requisito fundamental para a formação integral do cidadão, pois potencializava a ação educativa na medida em que canalizava as energias vitais do indivíduo na direção social do processo produtivo / Abstract: The present research investigates the introduction of Physical Education into the proposals of an educational reform in Brazil, within the transitional period between the First Empire and the First Republic, extending to the beginning of the ¿Vargas¿ era, from the analysis of authors who expressed their craving for a ¿bourgeoisie¿ modernization of the country through education. Sustaining this perspective, the study includes the ¿sergipano¿ educational legislation which set the rules of primary education during the first republican decades. Primary school was appointed as a privileged institution which could accelerate the process that would lead the country to international standards of modernization, emphasizing Physical Education as one of its supporting components. The sources analyzed made it evident that Physical Education ascended as a fundamental issue for Pedagogy, as a reactive consequence towards traditional education, which prioritized almost exclusive attention to mental or spiritual development of the individual, to the detriment of indispensable attention to the body. A new perspective in education had been manifested, one which allied a harmonious development of the body to the spirit, sustaining a favorable argument towards full time education, allied to arising behavioral needs of a board of citizens, which would adjust them to the new terms of capitalist production. Physical Education became a purpose of educational reform projects which aroused the attention of the State, intellectuals and politicians, including ¿sergipanos¿, although it has been recorded that, in fact in Sergipe, the educational system raised difficulties to the development of activities and physical exercises, which were then recommended. In conclusion, the subject focused, at that time, had been defended as a fundamental requirement for the complete education of the citizen, since it empowered the educative action in proportion that it canalized the vital energies of the individual in the social direction of the productive process / Doutorado / Historia, Filosofia e Educação / Doutor em Educação

Historielärobokens föreställningar : Påbjuden identifikation och genreförändring i den obligatoriska skolan 1870–2000Gustafson, Jörgen January 2017 (has links)
This thesis sets out to address the question: How is Swedish history put forward as expected identification in history textbooks for the years of compulsory schooling and how did this change during the period 1870-2000? This question is legitimate since the writing of history is a form of meaning-creation that is built through the merging of different components (place, time, actors, objectives, etc.) into a coherent narrative. The writing of history is therefore a form of power. The study include a quantitative total enquiry into all published history textbooks in Sweden between 1870-2000 aimed at compulsory schooling, as well as läroverk and gymnasium. In aim to map out and analyse the framing patterns displayed by the genre in order to answer questions about its characteristics and find out which have been the dominant history textbooks. These have formed basis for the qualitative investigation. The genre has its own clear inherent components such as images which are used over a very long time and found in book after book and publisher after publisher. The genre of history textbooks has an independence in relation to current research in academia and equally The only time there is a fundamental change is after the 1950s and then the whole school system had been recast, but after a while the greater part of the elements under study returned. The results of the thesis point to the consumer side as being what largely upholds the tradition of the genre. A clear change is the significantly increased female representation during the 1990s. When the female representation is portrayed, it is more connected to traditional female values such as family than ever before. I argue that this is a consequence of the gender system’s logic of separation. When there is more space given to female representation, it becomes increasingly important to mark the boundaries between the female and the male.

2006. Tese (Doutorado em Educação) ¿ Faculdade de Educação da Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Campinas, 2006. This study corresponds to a historiographical examination of the research which elected historic time in the History teaching as subject matter last decade. It tries to rebuild meanings of the experience constitutive of historic time as a specific research field involving history and its intersection with other fields of knowledge, based on authors who point out a rupture in the linear history and deconstruction of the idea of progress as a historical norm and, so, support a conception of historic time founded on the individuals¿ concrete experience. Given their goals, theoretical, methodological approaches, and conclusions, these researches have revealed that historic time as subject matter is constituted according to different possibilities of investigation, whether it is into the perspective of grasping how students understand, develop, and represent time notions or into the perspective of researchers worried about the place historic time occupies in curricular proposals, in teachers¿ education and representations, as well as in History textbooks. The enquiring dialogue with these researches aimed to supply a reflection on both the presence of the national curriculum guidelines in them ¿as a way of interlocution between public policies for education in Brazil and the academic production¿and on the grounds, perspectives, and questions related to the proposition of a historical education. Also, it put into question the idea of progress as motive force of a linear conception of history / Doutorado / Educação, Conhecimento, Linguagem e Arte / Doutor em Educação

This research attemped to discuss how the production of Mexican scholars' books, during Porfirio Díaz government (1876-1911), helped to contructed the past representation of the country.
(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: The purpose of this research is to analyse the earliest academic specialisation courses with an emphasis on Mathematical Modelling, chiefly in what concerns their dynamics of idealisation and development. Furthermore, the study investigates what the correlations that may be identified between such coursesare, dating back to 1980, as well as the constitution of Mathematics Education within the Brazilian academic and scientific locus. More specifically, the research is an endeavour to interpret and discuss the personal experiences that have been reported by professors somehow involved in the first courses that have been taught in the Fundação Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras de Guarapuava (Fafig) – Guarapuava (Paraná, Brazil) Philosophy, Sciences, and Languages College Foundation. Thereby, it is possible to examine the relations and interconnections of the aforementioned courses with the ones that have been taught subsequently in Brazil. As for the operational basis of this undertaking, the choice has been for a qualitative research, as well as for the Oral History Methodology, in coherence with the way it is conceived and practiced within the Grupo de História Oral e Educação Matemática (Ghoem) – Mathematics Education and Oral History Research Group. As a result, the methodological procedures have allowed written sources found in archives, such as schedules, reports, and syllabi, to be mobilised.
Our thesis is a research on the history of teacher unionism in Quebec during the first half of the 1990s. More specifically, from the Congress of the Central Teachers of Quebec (CEQ) in June 1990 to the convocation by the Minister of Education of the Parizeau government of the Estates General on education in March 1995.
Our research endeavors a milestone for a first critical history of teacher unionism to be constructed in its relationship to the history of education according to an initial observation that it is undervalued, even largely invisible in various fields of the humanities and social sciences (industrial relations, sociology and history).
The CEQ is the central union of local federations and unions representing teachers in Quebec (primary, secondary and college and even university) and teaching professionals (pastoral animators at the time). The decision-making body of the CEQ is the National Congress which meets every two years; the application of the decisions of the Congress is done both by the National Office (Executive Council from June 1992) and the General Council of delegates of all the federations and all the local unions affiliated to the Centrale. This union agora, which meets six times a year, is the heart of the democratic, tumultuous life of the CEQ and studies all the reports, documents, analyzes, etc., which are submitted to it by the National Office / Executive Council, CEQ research unit or various committees.
First, our thesis tackles the fact that Quebec teacher unionism is an unfinished and unfinished historical object. Our approach attempts to respond to this problematic link between historiography and history. Then, she proposed new milestones for a critical study of this history, in particular the failure of the first attempt to tie education to the sovereignty of Quebec from 1977 to 1984.
But then, how was a Teacher Union able to evolve from an opposition of Marxist inspiration to any attempt at imposed reform of education and to a project of sovereignty considered as conservative and "capitalist" carried by the PQ in 1977-1985 to a proposal for a
v
comprehensive, neoliberal reform of education and support for a “social democratic” sovereignty carried by the same political party in 1994-1995?
To explain and understand this historical paradox, we will study the new strategic orientations of the CEQ from the Congress of June 1990.
Then, in a second step, from union archives - the minutes of the meetings of union delegates to the General Council of the CEQ -, our historical study relates to the second, the linkage of education made by the Centrale to the conquest of Quebec sovereignty, and in particular the role played by the General Council of union representatives in defining four positions: 1) the issue of deconfessionalization, then the secularity of the Quebec education system; 2) the development of intercultural education policy; 3) the political and strategic issues around the definition of Quebec sovereignty; 4) the participatory turning point and the proposal for a comprehensive education reform in Quebec.
Finally, our historical research leads us to describe the teaching union memories that make the CEQ a special union organization in the history of the Quebec labor movement.
