No Brasil a exploração do petróleo está crescendo cada vez mais principalmente com as atividades offshore devido às constantes descobertas de novas jazidas em alto mar. Isto cria a necessidade de embarcações que garantam operações mais seguras o que pode ser obtido com aquelas dotadas de sistemas de posicionamento dinâmico. O projeto de um sistema de posicionamento dinâmico não é simples sob o ponto de vista de controle já que é um sistema não-linear multivariável sobreatuado; e não é barato devido aos elevados custos de implementação. Portanto, para se projetar adequadamente este tipo de sistema é imprescindível a elaboração de meios para ensaiar toda a estrutura real em desenvolvimento num tanque de provas utilizando modelos em escala. Neste trabalho é mostrado o projeto, construção e testes da eletrônica embarcada de um aparato experimental para ensaios de veículos oceânicos em tanque de provas, cujo projeto baseou-se em aspectos técnicos importantes para seu bom funcionamento como a descentralização dos processamentos necessários, a comunicação sem fio robusta com um console central responsável pelo processamento de todos os algoritmos do controlador superior e a preocupação com a compatibilidade eletromagnética do sistema. O console central consiste de uma interface de comunicação com o usuário e dos blocos de controle que são o filtro de Kalman, o controlador e o alocador de empuxos. Nos ensaios o desempenho da eletrônica é averiguado experimentalmente e os excelentes resultados obtidos mostram que o modelo responde de acordo com os comandos do controlador, principalmente com relação aos controles localizados para cada motor de propulsor contribuindo assim para o bom comportamento do conjunto. / In Brazil the exploration of oil is increasing mainly with the offshore activities due to the new found deposits. This situation requires more safety vessels which can be achieved using dynamic positioning systems. As a dynamic positioning system is a multivariable non linear and overactuated system, its design is not simple; and it is also not cheap due to high implementation costs. Therefore, the development of experimental environments to adequately study and design this type of system is essential. This work shows the embedded electronic project and assembly of an experimental setup in order to test floating vessel models. The project was developed based on important technical aspects to guarantee a good performance like processing decentralization, robust wireless communication with a central console responsible by the all control algorithms and the concern with electromagnetic compatibility of the system. The central console is composed by a human interface, control and Kalman filter structures and a thruster allocation algorithm. The performance of the electronic structure is verified experimentally during the tests and the excellent results show that the model works, in accordance to the controller commands, mainly related to local thruster control which contributes to the good system behavior

The proposed orthosis is an orthopedical device with the main objective of providing walking capacity to people with partial or total loss of lower limbs movements. In order to design the kinematics, dynamics and the mechanical characteristics of the prototype, the biomechanics of the human body was analized. The orthosis was projected to reproduce some of the movements of the human gait as walking in straight forward, sit down, get up, arise and go down steps. The joints of the orthosis are controlled by DC motors equipped with mechanical reductions, whose purpose is to reduce rotational speed and increase the torque, thus generating smooth movements. The electronic embedded system is composed of two motor controller boards with two channels that communicate with a embedded PC, position sensors and limit switches. The gait movements of the orthosis will be controlled by high level commands from a human-machine interface. The embedded electronic system interprets the high level commands, generates the angular references for the joints of the orthosis, controls and drives the actuators in order to execute the desired movements of the user / Este trabalho tem como objetivo apresentar o desenvolvimento de um prot?tipo de ?rtese ativa inteligente para membros inferiores com um sistema eletr?nico embarcado. Embedded electronic systems driven by run-time reconfigurable hardware

Abstract This doctoral thesis addresses the design of embedded electronic systems based on run-time reconfigurable hardware technology –available through SRAM-based FPGA/SoC devices– aimed at contributing to enhance the life quality of the human beings. This work does research on the conception of the system architecture and the reconfiguration engine that provides to the FPGA the capability of dynamic partial reconfiguration in order to synthesize, by means of hardware/software co-design, a given application partitioned in processing tasks which are multiplexed in time and space, optimizing thus its physical implementation –silicon area, processing time, complexity, flexibility, functional density, cost and power consumption– in comparison with other alternatives based on static hardware (MCU, DSP, GPU, ASSP, ASIC, etc.). The design flow of such technology is evaluated through the prototyping of several engineering applications (control systems, mathematical coprocessors, complex image processors, etc.), showing a high enough level of maturity for its exploitation in the industry. / Resumen Esta tesis doctoral abarca el diseño de sistemas electrónicos embebidos basados en tecnología hardware dinámicamente reconfigurable –disponible a través de dispositivos lógicos programables SRAM FPGA/SoC– que contribuyan a la mejora de la calidad de vida de la sociedad. Se investiga la arquitectura del sistema y del motor de reconfiguración que proporcione a la FPGA la capacidad de reconfiguración dinámica parcial de sus recursos programables, con objeto de sintetizar, mediante codiseño hardware/software, una determinada aplicación particionada en tareas multiplexadas en tiempo y en espacio, optimizando así su implementación física –área de silicio, tiempo de procesado, complejidad, flexibilidad, densidad funcional, coste y potencia disipada– comparada con otras alternativas basadas en hardware estático (MCU, DSP, GPU, ASSP, ASIC, etc.). Se evalúa el flujo de diseño de dicha tecnología a través del prototipado de varias aplicaciones de ingeniería (sistemas de control, coprocesadores aritméticos, procesadores de imagen, etc.), evidenciando un nivel de madurez viable ya para su explotación en la industria. / Resum Aquesta tesi doctoral està orientada al disseny de sistemes electrònics empotrats basats en tecnologia hardware dinàmicament reconfigurable –disponible mitjançant dispositius lògics programables SRAM FPGA/SoC– que contribueixin a la millora de la qualitat de vida de la societat. Résonateurs à ondes élastiques de volume à modes harmoniques élevés (HBARs) pour mesures gravimétriques : application à la détection de gaz / High overtone bulk acoustic wave resonator (HBAR) for gravimetric measurements : applications to gas detection

Le besoin d’appareils compacts et autonomes dédiés à la détection d’espèces chimiques pour des analyses de terrain est d’actualité dans un contexte international en rapide mutation (agroalimentaire, développement durable, sécurité, etc.). La thèse présentée au sein de ce manuscrit, financée par la Délégation Générale de l’Armement, développe de nouvelles solutions de capteurs résonants à ondes élastiques de volume à modes harmoniques élevés (HBARs) pour la détection de gaz et plus particulièrement de composés explosifs. Ces résonateurs de très haute compacité se composent d’un transducteur reporté ou déposé sur une cavité résonante multimode, produisant un spectre de raies modulant sa propre réponse fréquentielle. De nature dipolaire, ces résonateurs permettent toutefois la mise au point de quadripôles par couplage latéral de modes mis à profit dans nos travaux. L’étude théorique du comportement de résonateurs à base de niobate de lithium aminci et reporté sur quartz ou fondés sur un empilement de nitrure d’aluminium et de silicium a permis de déterminer les propriétés gravimétriques spécifiques de chaque combinaison de matériaux et des modes associés. Des méthodes de calibrage en phase liquide et gazeuse sont proposées pour valider l’analyse théorique et permettre le choix de la structure la mieux adaptée à une configuration expérimentale donnée. Les résultats obtenus, comparés à ceux d’une microbalance à ondes guidées sur quartz, mettent en évidence les forces (compacité, cinétique chimique réduite, nature multi-physique des mesures) et faiblesses (sensibilité gravimétrique imposant des structures d’épaisseur inférieure à 100 μm) de notre solution face à cette référence. Nous avons également développé une électronique de traitement en boucle ouverte des informations issues de nos dispositifs, permettant des modes de détection rapide ou de haute précision (quelques milli-degrés de variation de phase). L’électronique dédiée a pour vocation de fournir la flexibilité nécessaire au suivi de nombreux modes à diverses fréquences fixes et de s’affranchir des temps longs de balayage en fréquence des analyseurs de réseaux généralistes. Une version à8 voies permet enfin la manipulation de plusieurs capteurs ou l’étude en parallèle des modes de 2 HBARs, donnant ainsi lieu à un système multi-physique efficace associé à des capteurs capables de sonder plusieurs grandeurs dans un volume de très petite dimension (quelques mm3). La limite de détection est déterminée par le bruit de phase de l’oscillateur local. Le système ainsi réalisé est exploité pour la détection de gaz mais aussi pour le pilotage de grandeurs physiques telles que la température ou la viscosité (milieux aqueux) dans différents contextes expérimentaux. / The demand for compact and autonomous systems devoted to field detection of gaseous compounds is still persisting in arapidly changing international context (food-processing, sustainable development, security, and so on). The thesis reportedin this manuscript, supported by the Délégation Générale de l’Armement, develops new resonant sensor solutions basedon high overtone bulk acoustic waves (so-called HBARs) for chemical compound detection and more specifically explosivesubstances. These high compactness resonators are built using a transducer bound or deposited onto a resonant cavity,yielding a comb spectrum modulating its own frequency response. They are used generally as dipoles, but a quadrupolestructure allowing for transverse mode coupling has been particularly used for our developments. A theoretical study ofthe behaviour of these devices based on lithium niobate-on-quartz or qluminum nitride-on-silicon material stack has beenachieved to determine the gravimetric properties of these configurations accounting for their mode specificities. Variouscalibration techniques have been implemented to confirm the theoretical analysis and to define the most appropriate structurefor a given application. The produced results have been compared to those of a quartz guided-wave micro-balance toemphasize the strength (compactness, reduced chemical kinetics, multiphysics measurements) and weakness (gravimetricsensitivity requiring device thickness less than 100 μm) of our devices. An embedded signal processing electronics alsohas been developed to treat the information provided by our sensors, offering fast or accurate (millidegree range) detectionprotocols. The dedicated electronics aims at providing the flexibility needed to track multiple modes at variaous fixed frquencieswhile getting rid of the long sweep time of general purpose network analyzers. A eight-channel version of thissystem has been set to process several sensor in parallel or to monitor several modes of two HBAR sensors for effectivemuti-physics measurements in a reduced analysis domain (a few cubic mm). Phase noise is the limiting factor determiningthe detection limit. The system has been deployed for gas detection as well as for monitoring other physical parameters suchas temperature or viscosity under various experimental condition including fluid media.

Fiabilité des structures en vibrations aléatoires : application aux systèmes mécatroniques embarqués / Reliability of structures subjected to random vibrations : application to embedded mechatronic systems

Les vibrations aléatoires sont les sollicitations les plus représentatives à celles qui se trouvent dans l'environnement réel. Elles sont souvent rencontrées dans l'environnement de fonctionnement automobile, aéronautique, spatial, ferroviaire et d'autres. La particularité des vibrations aléatoires est l'utilisation de son analyse par fatigue. Grâce aux propriétés statistiques des signaux aléatoires que les méthodes spectrales permettent d'estimer la moyenne du dommage d'une façon efficace et économique mais avec certaines limitations. Une étude numérique sur un système électronique embarqué accompagnée des essais expérimentaux ont été mis en place dans cette thèse pour présenter une démarche complète d'une analyse spectrale des vibrations aléatoires. Une modélisation par éléments finis a été réalisée ainsi qu'une technique du 'zoom structural' en analyse spectrale des vibrations aléatoires a été proposée dans ce travail avec la présentation des équations de cette technique. Une application numérique a montré la validité de la technique proposée en appliquant une étude de l'endommagement par fatigue par l'approche temporelle et par l'approche spectrale. Les résultats numériques de cette application mènent à une estimation d'un temps à l'initiation de la fissure très proche du temps de défaillance observé dans les résultats des essais expérimentaux. Cette technique montre la performance et l'efficacité des méthodes spectrales dans l'estimation du dommage par fatigue aléatoire. Une étude de l'optimisation d'un système soumis aux sollicitations aléatoires a été développée. L'objectif de cette étude est de rechercher la conception optimale du système soumis aux vibrations aléatoires en posant des limitations sur le dommage qui en résulte. Ce dommage estimé par les méthodes spectrales de Dirlik et de Single Moment ne doit pas dépasser un dommage cible pour assurer la fiabilité du système étudié. / Random vibrations are the most representative excitations that can be found in the real environment. They are often encountered in the automotive, aeronautical, space, railway and other operating environments. The special feature of the random vibrations is their important role in damage fatigue analysis. The spectral methods allow to estimate efficiently and economically the mean of the damage using the statistical properties of the random signals. A numerical study on an embedded electronic system with experimental tests was set up in this thesis to present a complete spectral analysis of random vibrations methodology. A finite element model was performed as well as submodelling technique in spectral analysis of random vibrations with associated equations was proposed in this work. A numerical application has shown the validity of the proposed technique by applying the fatigue damage study using the time-domain approach and the spectral approach. The numerical results of this application lead to the estimation of a crack initiation time very close to the failure time observed in the experimental tests. This technique shows the performance and efficiency of spectral methods in the estimation of random fatigue damage. The optimization of a system subjected to random excitations has been developed in this work. The objective of this study is to retrieve the optimal design of the system subjected to random vibrations with limitations on the resulting damage. This damage estimated by Dirlik and Single Moment spectral methods must not exceed defined target damage in order to insure the reliability of the studied system.

A conexão de diferentes módulos de diferentes fabricantes em um único barramento para a troca de dados e controle é um desafio para a indústria brasileira de máquinas agrícolas, apesar desta tecnologia estar consolidada em automóveis, aeronaves e em chão de fábrica. As vantagens obtidas com redes digitais são evidentes, porém necessitam de implementação de protocolos de redes. Na área agrícola, a norma internacional ISO 11783 apresenta forte potencial para tornar-se referência de padrão para a troca de dados entre módulos em tratores e implementos agrícolas. Esta norma, também conhecida como ISOBUS, está no estágio avançado de desenvolvimento. Contém quatorze documentos e o seu desenvolvimento está apoiado por grupos denominados \"Força Tarefa\", na Europa, nos EUA e recentemente no Brasil. Implementações deste padrão já estão sendo apresentadas no mercado internacional, em feiras e demonstrações de aplicação desta tecnologia. O Brasil deve investir e dominar a tecnologia, em busca de compatibilidade internacional tanto no ponto de vista tecnológico como comercial. Neste contexto, este trabalho encoraja o desenvolvimento nacional em aplicações com a norma ISOBUS, apresentando dois estudos de casos, cujos módulos comunicam com equipamentos de mercado compatíveis com a norma. Le suivi de l'état de santé et de la réactivité émotionnelle chez l'individu est au cœur de la médecine de demain ; il participe notamment au développement de nouveaux services de soins en santé tels que la médecine à domicile, la médecine mobile ou encore la médecine personnalisée. Cependant il nécessite d'une part la définition d'indicateurs adaptés à la mesure en environnement complexe, et d'autre part la conception d'exocapteurs et d'instrumentations intégrés dans l'environnement de l'individu. Les travaux de cette thèse présentent la démarche nécessaire au passage de mesures physiologiques en laboratoire à celles des conditions de la vie de tous les jours, en s'articulant autour de deux axes d'étude : Le premier axe concerne la conception et le développement d'une instrumentation ambulatoire pour la mesure de paramètres physiologiques en conditions écologiques. Le système portable EmoSense conçu pour la mesure de la fréquence cardiaque, de la résistance cutanée et de la température cutanée permet l'identification de nouveaux indicateurs de la réactivité émotionnelle à partir de mesures réalisées en situations réelles. L'expérimentation présentée sur l'objectivation du stress chez les personnes aveugles pendant leur déplacement en milieu urbain a permis la construction d'un nouvel indicateur pour l'analyse de l'activité électrodermale. Par ailleurs, cette démarche met en avant l'importance de la mise en place de plateformes ayant pour objectif de fournir un support pour l'expérimentation en conditions écologiques, telles que les Living Lab. La seconde partie des travaux est consacrée à la mesure de l'activité électrodermale (résistance électrique cutanée) pendant la conduite de véhicule. Cette mesure est basée sur la conception et le développement d'un volant instrumenté. Ce travail illustre les difficultés technologiques liées à la mesure de signaux bioélectriques par exocapteurs pour leur intégration dans l'environnement de l'individu. Nous proposons ainsi une topologie innovante de placement des électrodes dans le but d'optimiser les facteurs de disponibilité et de robustesse du signal liés à la mesure de signaux bioélectriques par exocapteurs. / Improvement in quality and efficiency of health and medicine, at home and in hospital, has become of paramount importance. The solution to this problem would require the continuous monitoring of several key patient parameters, including emotional reactivity analysis, in order to assist the development of mobile Health or personalized Health. But it often requires a new definition of commonly used indicators to adapt them for an in situ monitoring, and also the design of exo-sensors and instrumentations integrated in the environment. This PhD work contributes to the definition of the steps leading experiments from laboratory to real-life conditions: First a new ambulatory device was developed to enable the measurement of heart rate, electrodermal activity and skin temperature during in situ experiments, for the definition of new indicators of emotional reactivity. Experimenting in real-life settings has led to the definition of a novel, more pertinent parameter for the evaluation of stress in the blind when walking in urban space.These results were very encouraging for the use of such ambulatory devices for experiments under real-life conditions, such as Living Labs. The second part deals with the assessment of electrodermal activity while driving. This work is based on the design and the development of a steering wheel enabling the measurement of galvanic skin resistance. This has shown the challenges and issues of the assessment of bioelectric signals with exo-sensors for their integration in the human environment. Therefore we propose a new and innovative topology of electrodes on the steering wheel, for the optimization of the amount of available data and the quality of biolectric signals.
