Introduktion: Barnfetma är ett globalt folkhälsoproblem som växer i snabb takt.Obehandlad övervikt och fetma bland barn kan leda till kroniska följdsjukdomar ivuxenlivet, såsom högt blodtryck, förstadier till diabetes typ-2, psykisk ohälsa samt förtidigdöd. En hög frekvens av emotionellt ätande bland barn och unga har visat sig ha sambandmed barnfetma. Emotionellt ätande (EE) handlar om att känslor hanteras genom att ätamat vilket kan leda till ökat kaloriintag. Möjliga orsaker som förknippats med EE bland barnär bland annat föräldrastilar, det vill säga föräldrarnas beteende och förhållningssätt tillmat och matsituationen. Syfte: Litteraturöversikten syftade till att undersöka föräldrastilarsom kan orsaka emotionellt ätande bland barn och unga. Metod: En struktureradlitteraturöversikt användes där en tematisk analys utfördes på nio vetenskapligaoriginalartiklar. Resultat: Föräldrastilar som orsakade EE bland barn var: föräldrar somanvände mat som belöningsmetod för gott beteende, önskvärt beteende eller för att mildraett temperamentsfullt barn till lugn. Andra föräldrastilar var då föräldern begränsadebarnets matintag på grund av oro för viktuppgång samt förälderns brist på hantering avnegativa känslor såsom stress och ångest vilket hanterades genom att använda mat somstrategi för att mildra de negativa känslorna. Specifikt moderns hantering av negativakänslor och moderns egna emotionella ätande orsakade EE bland barn. Slutsats: Att förståhur sociala kognitiva processer påverkar känslomässig reglering och ätbeteende kan stödjautvecklingen av förebyggande och terapeutiska strategier för behandling av barnfetma. / Introduction: Childhood obesity is a global public health problem that is growing at arapid pace. Untreated overweight and obesity among children can lead to chronic diseasesin adulthood. A high frequency of emotional eating among children and adolescents hasbeen shown to be associated with childhood obesity. Emotional eating (EE) is aboutemotions being managed by eating food which can lead to increased calorie intake. Possiblecauses associated with EE among children include parenting styles, that is, parentalbehavior and approach to food and the food situation. Aim: The literature review aimed toinvestigate parenting styles that can cause emotional eating among children andadolescents. Method: A structured literature review was used in which a thematic analysiswas performed on nine original scientific articles. Results: Parenting styles that caused EEamong children were: parents who used food as a method for good behavior, desirablebehavior, or to soften a temperamental child to calm. Other parenting styles were when theparent restricted the child's food intake due to concerns about weight gain and the parent'slack of coping with negative emotions such as stress and anxiety which was managed byusing food as a strategy to mitigate the negative emotions. Specifically, the mother's dealingwith negative emotions as well as the mother's emotional eating caused EE among children. Conclusion: Understanding how social cognitive processes affect emotional regulationand eating behavior can support the development of preventive and therapeutic strategiesfor the treatment of childhood overweight and obesity.

Weight-related teasing and non-normative eating behaviors as predictors of weight loss maintenance

Weight loss maintenance is essential for the reduction of obesity-related health impairments. However, only a minority of individuals successfully maintain reduced weight in the long term. Research has provided initial evidence for associations between weight-related teasing (WRT) and greater non-normative eating behaviors. Further, first evidence was found for associations between non-normative eating behaviors and weight loss maintenance. Hence, the present study aimed to examine the predictive value of WRT for weight loss maintenance and the role of non-normative eating behaviors as possible mediators of this relationship. The study was part of the German Weight Control Registry that prospectively followed individuals who had intentionally lost at least 10% of their maximum weight and had maintained this reduced weight for at least one year. In N = 381 participants, retrospective WRT during childhood and adolescence, current non-normative eating behaviors (i.e., restrained, external, emotional eating), and change in body mass index (BMI, kg/m2) over two years were examined using self-report assessments. Structural equation modeling was used to analyze the assumed mediational relationship. As a result, a greater effect of retrospective WRT during childhood and adolescence predicted less successful adult weight loss maintenance over two years. Current emotional eating fully mediated this relationship while current restrained and external eating yielded no mediational effects. Hence, a greater effect of WRT predicted greater current emotional eating, which in turn predicted a smaller decrease or a greater increase in BMI. Our findings suggest that suffering from WRT during childhood and adolescence might lead to emotional eating which in turn impairs long-term weight loss maintenance. Thus, our results highlight the need for interventions aiming at reducing weight stigmatization and targeting emotional eating for successful long-term weight loss maintenance.

Factors emocionals associats a la conducta alimentària en adolescents. Adaptació i validació de l'EES-C i de l'EPI-C

Study of the impact of some emotional factors related to food intake. The research is based on the design and observational cross-cultural adaptation and validation of assessment tools for emotional eating (EES-C) and eating behavior (EPI-C) in 379 non-pathological adolescents (14 -18 years old).
The factorial structure, the concurrent validity, the discriminant and reliability of the original scales were maintained. 
The girls showed a higher emotional intake in AAF in the EES-C and higher scores in DIER and EEAT in the EPI-C. The boys showed the higher scores in PAR.
We found significant differences between different types of emotional eating and sex in the AAF, and DEP subscales. A higher percentage of girls belonged to the type II and obtained the highest scores in Diet ChEAT and depressive symptoms by CDI assessment.
Diet restriction increased 3 times the risk of eating disorders, and greater parental control increased the risk of TCA twice. / Estudi de la incidència de factors emocionals relacionats amb ingesta alimentaria. Disseny descriptiu, observacional i transversal d’adaptació i validació cultural dels instruments d’avaluació de la ingesta emocional (EES-C) i de la conducta alimentària (EPI-C) en 379 adolescents no clínics (14 -18 anys). Es mantingué estructura factorial, validesa concurrent, discriminant i fiabilitat de les escales originals. Les noies presentaren major ingesta emocional en AAF i UNS de l’EES-C i puntuacions més elevades en DIER i EEAT en l’EPI-C. Els nois presentaren puntuacions més elevades en PAR. Es trobaren diferències significatives entre tipologies d’ingesta emocional en AAF, DEP i UNS i diferències de sexe. Un percentatge més elevat de noies pertanyien a la tipologia II i obtingué puntuacions més elevades en DIETA mesurada pel ChEAT i simptomatologia depressiva avaluada pel CDI. La restricció dietètica augmentà 3 vegades el risc de TCA, i un major control parental n'augmentà el risc 2 vegades.
