Monteiro Lobato : entre o pedagógico e o estético /

Cardoso, Rosimeiri Darc. January 2007 (has links)
Abstract: This work studies six books of Monteiro Lobato, considered of an educative approach, trying to identify the tension between the pedagogic and the esthetic, having in consideration the fact that the historic and social moment of Brazil was favor to the publication of such a work. In this manner, is valuable to emphasize the connection of factors between the publication of such works (1993-1937) and the moment when appears Children Literature in the 18th century. This explain the influence of the way of thinking named Enlightenment or Illustration, that provide conditions to the circulation of such kind in that time. In the same manner, in the books of Lobato in question, is detectable the presence of the same ideas, having always in sight the desire to spread knowledge and progress. To this end, was used as point of theory support, the idea of Rouanet (1987) that the ideas of Enlightenment didn't ended in the 18th Century but still are presents under new perspective. Having also as a theory support the indication by Antonio Candido (1993) that the literary work presents a dialogue between the author, the work and the public, reflecting the social structures existing in the time of production. In the analysis, were in focus the most important elements of the work that is: the narrator, the children persons, the adult persons and the school material evoked. The results indicate the presence of the enlightenment's ideas because de books value the alliance between the utility and the pleasant, how to equilibrate the tension between the pedagogic and the esthetic. / Doutor

Jorge, Juliana Ribeiro Pala. January 2006 (has links)
Abstract: Color stability of two different composite resins after artificial aging was evaluated, against the following factors: composition and type of photo-activating light. Therefore, 15 specimens from Filtek Supreme composite resin and 15 specimens from 4 Seasons composite resin were prepared. Both materials were polymerized with three different light devices: one halogen light and two LEDs systems. These specimens were submitted to artificial aging, initially through immersion in distilled water for 24 hours and then through exposure to ultraviolet light for 24 hours, in association with immersion in distilled water. The color mensurations were accomplished by a reflectance spectrophotometer and these mensurations, through a proper mathematical formula, allowed that the total color alteration (?E) was evaluated, for each variation, at the following period of time: after distilled water immersion (T1-T2), and after ultraviolet light exposure (T1-T3). These results were analyzed by a analysis of variance, and through this analysis it was possible to notice that: Filtek Supreme composite resin presented color alteration average (?E) statistically higher than the 4 Seasons composite resin average; the type of photopolymerization light (LED or halogen) did not define any statistical differences on color stability for both studied materials. Both materials underwent significant color alteration, both statistical and visually alterations, after the artificial aging process. / Mestre

Avaliação da estabilidade de cor e capacidade de mascaramento de facetas com cerâmicas reforçadas por dissilicato de lítio e cerâmicas híbridas / Evaluation of color stability and masking ability of ceramics reinforced by lithium disilicate and hybrid ceramics veneers

Raphaela Farias Rodrigues 29 June 2017 (has links)
The objectives of this work were to evaluate the color stability and masking ability up to 1,000,000 thermomechanical cycles of hybrid and reinforced with lithium disilicate ceramics processed by the CAD/CAM method; to verify the influence of cement color in relation to the final color of the veneers; and the correspondence between try-in and respective colors of the cements. 60 ceramic veneers were prepared using the milling method, which were cemented by light-curing cement (Variolink Esthetic LC) according to the manufacturer\'s instructions on replicates of darkened (C4) and nondarkened central incisors (A2) and distributed in the experimental groups (n=10) - DA2N, DC4N (D), DC4L, HA2N, HC4N, HC4L according to ceramic - lithium disilicate (D) and hybrid (H), substrate color - A2 and C4, and cement color - neutral (N) and ligth (L). The spectrophotometer measurements were performed prior to veneers cementation, veneers + try-In, immediately after cementing, after 48h, 72h and after thermomechanical cycles (250,000, 500,000, 750,000 and 1,000,000) in a cycling machine. Data were analyzed by ANOVA-2 repeated measures and Tukey test (5%). It was observed that both ceramics presented color stability and masking ability, because although there was a statistical difference in some groups, all values of E were below 1.7, ie, they are not perceptible. Likewise, it was found that the color of the cements (neutral and light) did not influence the final color of the restorations, since there was no significant statistical difference comparing the groups DC4N and DC4L as well as between HC4N and HC4L. By correlating the tryin with the colors of the respective cements all values obtained for E were below 3.3 which is considered the limit as perceived by untrained observers. It was concluded that hybrid ceramics and lithium disilicate veneers exhibit very good color stability over time and masking ability. As well as, the different cement colors do not influence the final color of the veneers and try-in pastes show similarity to the respective colors of the cements.

Avaliação de nova técnica não cirúrgica para tratamento de deficiência de papila em área estética: estudo clínico randomizado controlado / New evaluation technique non-surgical for papilla deficiency treatment in cosmetic area: randomized controlled trial

Mônica Garcia Ribeiro 08 April 2016 (has links)
The absence or loss of interdental papilla creates an esthetic deficiency, phonetic problems and food impaction and generates a lot of expectation for the patient. Until now, the treatment for absence or loss of interdental papilla is unsuccessful e and there are no researches that show that the papilla regeneration is a predictable outcome. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectivity of a non-animal originated hyaluronic acid injection in the reduction or elimination of papilla deficiency between natural teeth in comparison to a sub epithelial connective tissue graft treatment. The analysis was made on 20 sites in 6 patients, both genders, 29 - 62 years, showing deficiency in the papilla between natural teeth in the upper anterior region in at least two teeth. The 20 sites treated were randomly divided into two groups, according to the treatment by subepithelial connective tissue graft (control group) or by hyaluronic acid injection (test group). A single calibrated examiner evaluated the distance between the tip of the papilla to the contact point using a graduated periodontal probe before the treatment and 1, 3 and 6 months after it. Besides, it were investigated probing pocket depth, clinical attachment level, gingival bleeding index, plaque index, distance from papilla to alveolar crest, distance from contact point to alveolar crest and width of the papilla. The results showed that 6 months after the procedure, the percentage of change in the papilla level was higher in the test group (14,94% ± 21,35%) than in the control group (-1,39% ± 31,46%), though not statistically significant (p>0.05). There was no significant difference variation in the width of the papilla before and 4 months after the treatment in test group (p=0.09) and control group (p=0.16), and there was no significant difference variation in the distance between the tip of the papilla and the alveolar bone crest. There was significant improvement of the Pink Esthetic Score (PES) after 6 months in comparison to the initial condition in test group (p=0.0078; Wilcoxon), while there was no significant difference in the PES in control group 6 months after treatment (p=0.35). The results allow to conclude that the treatment for of the papilla deficiency using hyaluronic acid injection promotes improvement, similar to the results of the sub epithelial connective tissue graft treatment, but with significant esthetic improvement related specially to the color and texture characteristics of the adjacent soft tissues.

Neves, Ana Christina Claro. January 1996 (has links)
The objective of this paper was to develop one silicone guide for human skin shades. Twenty-seven samples were manufactured in acetic silicone rubber (Silastic 732 RTV) pigmented with iron oxides and titanium dioxide. The qua ntity of acetic silicone rubber used in each specimen was kept constant (two grams) and the pigments were mixed to it in several proportions until the obtention of twenty-seven different shades. Through the comparison of the color of each sample with the skin color of forty-one individuals were selected the five samples which shades best matched the individuals' skin colar, determining in this way, a shade guide. Variations in the quantity of pigments used permited the obtention of new shades. With the employed methodology it was possible to develop a shade guide that can facilitate the definition of the patient's skin color when making facial prostheses in silicone allowing economy of time and material at the moment of color selection / Mestre

Imaginários da linguagem de Alice Vieira e Lygia Bojunga Nunes: a modernidade em diálogo na literatura para crianças e jovens / Imaginaries in the language of Alice Vieira and Lygia Bojunga Nunes: Modernity in dialog in the literature intended to children and youngsters.

Daniela Yuri Uchino Santos 07 May 2008 (has links)
This thesis starts by researching the concept of Modernity and its denominations. Modernity/Post-modernity; then, we approach Modern Art, and, later, we enter the literary esthetics in the project of Modernity, which is the focus of the research and, for that purpose, we present literary values of some modern critic-writers. So, once the ideas in Modernity dialog have been exposed, we proceed to the formatting of a paradigm which we call Project of Modernity Paradigm. We go about the current literary criticism, and the researched writers: Portuguese Alice Vieira and Brazilian Lygia Bojunga Nunes. We selected and performed an analytical-critical paradigm study in two literary works for children and youngsters, namely: Flor de Mel, by Alice Vieira and Corda bamba, by Lygia Bojunga Nunes. We did an approximation of the PM paradigm, for this study, in the end of each analysis, as well as an approximation between Flor de Mel and Corda bamba, so that we could find how much the esthetic quality of the narrative text, disregarding whether the work can be addressed to the adult or children receptors, in other words, if the literature mentioned is for children and youngsters, or not, does evidence the literary esthetics of Modernity which we proposed to investigate in this study.

Estetická zkušenost jako zkušenost náboženská: Gadamer a Luther. / The esthetical experience as a religious experience: Gadamer and Luther.

Taufer, Filip January 2020 (has links)
H.-G. Gadamer prirovnáva skúsenosť umeleckého diela k hre, symbolu a slávnosti a v kontexte symbolu ďalej k náboženskému rituálu - Večeri Pánovej v poňatí Martina Luthera.

Optical properties Of CAD-CAM lithium disilicate glass-ceramic in different firing temperatures and thicknesses

Alqahtani, Nasser January 2016 (has links)
Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), Indiana University School of Dentistry / Background: With the emerging of digital dentistry, IPS e.max® CAD lithium disilicate (LD) glass-ceramic material has become one of the most popular esthetic restorative materials in digital assisted dental esthetic restoration. The mechanical and optical properties of this material have been investigated in several studies. However, there is a lack of information and consensus regarding the optical properties of IPS e.max® LD glass-ceramic materials. Objectives: 1) To investigate the optical properties as translucency parameters (TP), Contrast ratio (CR), light transmissions (Lt) and color changes (CC) between high-translucent (HT) and low-translucent (LT) IPS e.max® CAD LD glass-ceramic materials with different crystalline phases and thickness in different firing stages. 2) To investigate the optical properties as TP, CR, Lt and CC of each translucent (HT and LT) IPS e.max® CAD LD glass-ceramic materials with different crystalline phases and thickness in different firing stages. 3) To determine the mathematical relationships of thicknesses of IPS e.max® CAD LD glass-ceramics materials with TP and Lt. Materials and methods: The total of 120 of shade A2 IPS max CAD samples (HT and LT) were prepared into square shape (15.25 mm X 15.25 mm) and were divided into two main groups according to the material translucency (HT and LT) (n=60). Each main group was further divided into 5 sub-groups according to the thickness (1.00, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, and 2.00 mm) (n=12). Each thickness group was assigned into three groups based on different crystallization (firing) temperatures (750, 820 °C in single stage heating schedule with 1 second and 10 second holding times, respectively, and 840 °C with two-stage heating schedule (RECOM) (820°C, 840 °C with 10 second and 7 min holding time, respectively) as recommended by manufacturer (n=4). CIEL*a*b*, TP, CR, and Lt were measured and calculated for all samples. Statistical analysis: The effects of the test results were evaluated using 3-way ANOVA with factors for Translucency (HT and LT), Firing Temperature (750, 850, and RECOM) and Thickness (1, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, and 2), as well as all two-way and three-way interactions among the factors. Pair-wise comparisons were made using Least Significant Differences to control the overall significance level at 5%. Results: The mean irradiance and TP for both HT and LT decrease as the thickness of the samples increases from 1 to 2mm with significant difference between the thickness groups within each material translucency groups (HT and LT) and between both HT and LT. The coefficients of absorption (c) of the two materials were calculated. The effective incidence irradiance when material thickness approaches zero (Ie) was also calculated. There is an unexpected spectral peak shift as the thickness of the samples increases. There is no statistically significant difference in Ie at 750˚C and 820 ˚C between the HT and LT. However, there is a statistically significant higher Ie in HT at the recommended firing temperature as expected. Coefficients of translucency parameter (p) of the materials in various firing temperature were defined and the TP of the material as the thickness approaches zero were calculated (TP0). The TP of the materials is directly correlated to the mean irradiance passing through the samples. There is no statistically significant difference in the TP0 and Ie of the HT and LT groups at the recommended firing temperature. Conclusion: In this project we developed modified Beer-Lambert law to describe the parameters governing the effect of thickness on light transmission in dental ceramic material. We also applied the same equation to describe the translucency parameter. The parameters defined in these equations allow us to compare the optical property of dental ceramic material independent of the thickness of the samples.

Perceived social attributes of college students with ideal versus non-ideal dental esthetics judged by peers.

Jones, David 26 April 2012 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of dentofacial appearance on perceived social attributes of college-aged adult males and females as judged by their peers. Specifically, the objective was to determine if ideal smile esthetics positively influenced this age group’s perception of opposite-sex peers based on ratings of the following psychosocial characteristics: attractiveness, desire to spend time with, desire to date, and desire for a long-term relationship. Evaluators were shown digital photographs of subjects with ideal and nonideal smiles and asked to rate those 4 attributes using a visual analogue scale (VAS). The subjects’ photographs with ideal smile esthetics were consistently rated higher on average than the same subjects’ photographs with nonideal smile esthetics. The differences in ratings between ideal and nonideal smile images were significant for all 4 psychosocial judgments (P <.0001). These differences ranged in magnitude depending on the sex and race of the evaluator and subject.

Apocryphal theatre : practicing philosophies

Barclay, Julia Lee January 2009 (has links)
Apocryphal Theatre: Practising Philosophies is a practice-based research project that consists of examples of my theatre practice (as research) and a written thesis. In this thesis, I argue that theatre can be seen to be an act of philosophy, by tessellating Maurice Merleau-Ponty's definition of philosophy as consisting of relearning to look at the world and Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari's proposition that philosophy is the creation of concepts, and pointing to post-WWII theatre artists whose work both fulfill this definition of philosophy and have informed Apocryphal Theatre's work. Included is an analysis of interviews with three contemporary theatre artists, Richard Foreman, Chris Goode and Ivana Muller, which explore their relationship with philosophical ideas in their work and how that informs their ability to create acts of philosophy. In practice, the research questions that underpin Apocryphal Theatre's research in labs, rehearsals and performance, are philosophical and create the potential for collective acts of philosophy. Apocryphal's practice as research as manifest in its ongoing lab and in the two productions included as part of this thesis, The Jesus Guy and Besides, you lose your soul or The History of Western Civilisation, will be analysed for the historical and philosophical bases of the primary concepts we have created through our research and the tools with which we embody them. The concepts and tools, which are used to address the research questions, are the witness, the grid, cutting up, levels of address and levels of presence. This thesis concludes that theatre and philosophy whilst separate disciplines can overlap in such a way that acts of philosophy can occur in the theatre, and that Apocryphal's theatrical project, which is collaborative, polyvocal and in performance invites the audience to be active witness/participants in the creation of the event, can be viewed as a collective act of philosophy.
