A Frente Parlamentar Evangélica e Apoio à Vida (FPE): desafios para a teologia pública

Magnus Carlo de Oliveira Costa 02 July 2015 (has links)
This paper focuses on the dialog between the work of the Frente Parlamentar Evangélica [Evangelical Parlamentary Front], Apoio à vida (FPE) [Support of Life] and Public Theology on themes related to social participation, within the broader scope of the relation between religion and society, as a specific way of approximating the churches of conversion leanings to the national political themes. The work is organized in three chapters, being the first about considerations of the FPE and it history and work, while the second brings characteristics and impressions with regard to the new configurations of the Evangelical world and the political debate on internet. Finally, in the third chapter, there are some considerations about the work of the FPE using Public Theology as a tool for reflective and critical considerations of the presuppositions lifted up as principles defended by the Evangelical parliamentarians gathered in the FPE.

An evaluation of Haddon Robinson's homiletical method: an evangelical perspective

Lake, Judson Shepherd 31 May 2003 (has links)
For the last two decades Haddon Robinson's homiletic text Biblical Preaching has been a significant influence in evangelical homiletics. In an endeavor to evaluate the homiletic method within it, this study asked the following questions: What is Robinson's theological methodology and how does it affect his homiletical method? What is his hermeneutical methodology and how does it affect his homiletical method? These two questions lead into the main issue of this study expressed in two other questions: Is Robinson consistent with his theological and hermeneutical methodology in his homiletical method? What are the strengths and weaknesses of his ten-stage method? Based on these issues, the purpose of this study was to investigate Robinson's theological and hermeneutical methodology, evaluate his ten-stage method in light of this investigation, and based on any problematic areas, suggest pointers toward new theory and procedure for the enhancement of expository pedagogy. To provide a framework for this study, four homiletical paradigms in contemporary American homiletics were identified and explained. Robinson's method was found to be in one of these paradigms. With this framework in mind, Robinson's theological and hermeneutical methodology was investigated. Following this, his definition of expository preaching with its five components was set forth and investigated. It was found that Robinson's expository methodology as expressed in his view of Scripture, hermeneutics, and definition of expository preaching, is a consistent foundation for his ten-stage method. Nevertheless, several problematic issues were noted. Having investigated Robinson's expository methodology, this study formally evaluated his ten-stage method and found its center of gravity to be on the two center stages dealing with the homiletical idea and purpose statement. Furthermore, this evaluation found the ten stages to be consistent with Robinson's definition of expository preaching in its movement from interpretation to application. In seven of the stages, however, this study found deficiencies due to procedural weaknesses and a lack of theoretical focus. The study concluded with ten pointers based on the problem areas addressed throughout the investigation and evaluation. These pointers suggested a new theory and procedure to enhance expository pedagogy and practice. / Philosophy, Practical and Systematic Theology / D. Th. (Pratical Theology)

"Verstehst du auch, was du liest?" : Methoden zur Vermittlung biblischer Inhalte in Bibelkursen für postmoderne Menschen in Evangelikalen Freikirchen / Do you understand what you're reading?" : methods for teaching biblical contents in Bible classes for postmodern people in Evangelical Free churches

Kuhlein, Detlef 11 1900 (has links)
Text in German / This dissertation shows the possibilities of interdisciplinary application of principles and methods in bible didactics, adult education, school education and learning style research to Christian education in evangelical free churches. The research objective is the establishment and development of a bible didactic methodology for practical teaching in order to convey biblical contents to postmodern adults. This objective is achieved by the practical-theological establishment of the necessity of basic biblical education in free churches, the presentation of the postmodernist church pedagogical framework for bible courses, the elaboration of possible applications of didactic principles of bible didactics, adult education and school education for conveying biblical contents in bible courses, and finally, by the compilation of suitable bible didactic principles and methods for bible courses. The dissertation closes by stating the requirements of pastors and teachers in free churches as well as the challenges of church pedagogy training for future pastors. / Philosophy, Practical and Systematic Theology / M. A biblical spirituality for evangelical and charismatic churches in 21st century South Africa

Botha, Craig Frederick 12 1900 (has links)
The Scriptures, as found in the Old and New Testaments, are foundational to a genuine Christian spirituality. Among the different existing approaches to spirituality, the evangelical and charismatic churches in South Africa today need to rediscover a distinctive biblical approach to spirituality for themselves in order to facilitate the discipleship of their own members. A holistic biblical spirituality can also serve society in practical ways and challenge the perceptions and practices of a South African society which is seeking to advance without religious foundations. / Philosophy and Systematic Theology / M.Th.

O PREGADOR SILENCIOSO: Ecumenismo no jornal Expositor Cristão (1886-1982) / The Silent Preacher: Ecumenism in the Expositor Cristão newspaper (1886-1982)

No. of bitstreams: 1 Suzel Magalhaes.pdf: 868719 bytes, checksum: 9e018992f176b05fd93b122cdb3f6b72 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2009-03-09 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The Expositor Cristão, which is the official newspaper of the Methodist Church in Brazil, started in 1886, with what could be called an ecumenic proposition: it´s first name, Methodista Catholico (Catholic Methodist), uncovers the desire for universalism, as shown in the first number editorial. It´s creator, a north american missionary called John James Ransom intended a non sectarian doctrinarian and orientational newspaper, in accordance with the wesleyan tradition. But the Methodista Catholico had a short life: within less than a year it became the Expositor Cristão. The brazilian religious field was then under an apologetic controversy, with the insertion of mission protestantism, from anglo-saxon origin, opposing the Roman Catholicism. The name of the newborn newspaper was one more victim of the confrontations. This work put itself to evaluate how the newspaper treated the question of ecumenism since this period until the entry of the Methodist Church in the CONIC, National Council of Christian Churches, at the beginning of the decade of 1980. The research found that the deep rooted anti catholicism in brazilian Methodism at it´s prime never disappeared completely. Also realised that the Methodism was not immune to the conflicts that existed among the denominations of the evangelical world. In spite of the well acknowledged pioneering of the Methodist church in creating brazilian ecumenic organisations, ecumenism always faced internal barriers, more or less disguised. The newspaper Expositor Cristão, created to be a medium of information and doctrinarian formation, not always showed with the necessary clarity which meaning the Methodist Church confer to the word ecumenism and how the Church practices it. In some moments, the coexistence between ecumenism and anti ecumenism in the heart of the methodist field was not brought under the light of the debates of the newspaper, but remained hidden due to omissions and ambivalences.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Ana Claudia Gusso.pdf: 2568093 bytes, checksum: 5f0773271441de6b85f626d130007105 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2008-03-03 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / This research brings into evidence both the use of internal, directed communication instruments and the use of public relations actions and relationship marketing inside the historic evangelical churches. The aim is to check if those instruments have any relation to the loss or retention of members in those churches and in their numerical growth in the face of a new religious configuration, where fidelity is getting harder to get every day. This study emphasizes the importance of internal communication and marketing communi cation strategies used inside the historic churches as an aid to the so called word of mouth marketing. In order to do this research, an analysis of the four historic churches in Curitiba with the greatest number of members was conducted. Those churches are the Baptist, the Lutheran, the Presbyterian and the Methodist. The study was carried on by participating observation research, analysis of various kinds of materials, interviews with church leaders and a quantitative research which involved the members and the visitors of the four churches. By using a structured questionnaire, this study analyzed the behavior of these members face to the internal directed communication means used in the churches and the relationships that happen inside them, both between their members and between the members and their leaders.(AU) / Esta pesquisa evidencia o uso de instrumentos de comunicação interna e dirigida e de ações de relações públicas e marketing de relacionamento dentro das igrejas evangélicas históricas.

Etnogeografia do underground cristão brasileiro: concentração e dispersão das Tribos em nome do Senhor / Underground brazilian christian etnogeography: the concentration and dispersal of tribes in the name of the Lord

Diogo da Silva Cardoso 10 February 2011 (has links)
The current study aims to examine the interchangeable space configurations and identities produced by the emerging underground Christian movement. Situated within a broader field - in which it is bound to evangelists and young persons from other aesthetic affinity network the movement combines different clusters and religious manifestations. These cultural identitary representations regardless their visual, musical, ritualistic and bible doctrine distinctions are linked by one reason, which is, in fact, one ideal: bringing Christ to all urban juvenile cultures that are historically, a target of neglect and prejudice from catholic traditional churches or protestant parties. Therefore, they compose sacred heterotopias which reveal the new identifying, affiliation and religious ritual trends as well as the new commitment practices made by these subversive young persons. Guided by the community militancy idea, they symbolically fight against the institutionalism, the wild marketing and the impersonal aura that dominate the current Christian scenario. Thus, they look for answers through culture ways towards turmoil, radicalisms and other post-secular New Era disturbances, where the sacred Geography is inherent to individuals and where territoriality does not limit itself to the ecclesiastical authorities and temples. Using this sort of panorama, allows comprehending how emerging Christians arrange symbolic itineraries and religious places in order to simultaneously refurnish faith and reach the worlds captive.

Proměny diakonie v Českobratrské církvi evangelické v teologické reflexi / Transformations of Diakonia in the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren

ŠIMR, Karel January 2018 (has links)
The thesis aims to contribute to the theoretical grounding of diakonia as the Christian-oriented practice of helping in modern society. Methodologically the author works with the social systems theory developed by Niklas Luhmann, which enables a differentiated description of the multidimensional reality of Christian helping action in its historical development and present situation. In the first part, the topic is theologically grounded ? biblically, historically and dogmatically. Then the main features of social systems theory are presented. Emphasis is placed on the dual ? primary (functional) and secondary (social) ? differentiation in society and its consequences for understanding diakonia. In this context diakonia is observed as the structural coupling of the systems of social help and Christianity and subsequently defined as helping in gospel perspective, which can be observed at micro-, meso- and macro-levels, i.e., in the context of interaction, organization and society ? and at the same time different theories must be developed for Christian helping at the individual levels. In the second part, the sociological description of the differentiation of diakonia is first confronted with theologically-oriented descriptions of differentiation in the context of Christianity and, following especially Wichern?s division of diakonia into civic, free and ecclesial, attention is focused on the ?tripod of diakonia? in the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren in the form of Diaconia of ECCB, Christian service and diaconate. This multi-focus view of diakonia makes it possible to reflect on its mutually irreducible layers and search for adequate theories for each of them. In the formation of the Christian dimension of the organization emphasis is placed on cultivating an adequate organization culture. Interaction has to do with the mutual ?neighborly? help within a community. The specific function of diaconate is identified in constructing bridges between the ecclesial level of Christianity and its connection with the system of social help, as well as other partial systems in society ? and in this sense it is perceived as again highly relevant. In the concluding chapter, the communication-based approach of social systems theory is correlated with the practical-theological paradigm of gospel communication. In this context diakonia is understood as an inseparable part of ?gospel communication?.

Simplesmente igreja : um olhar sobre inclusão de pessoas com deficiência em busca de contribuições para uma práxis comunitária inclusiva / Simply Church : a survey on the inclusion of people with disabilities as a means of contributing towards an inclusive congregational practice

Sandra Kamien Tehzy 07 August 2008 (has links)
This paper surveys the inclusion of people with disabilities within the Evangelical Church of Lutheran Confession in Brazil (ECLCB) based on the dialogue between two fields of knowledge, religion and education. They study discusses the relation between church and inclusion, examining issues raised by debates in the educational field in dialogue with congregational "voices", statements collected in interviews with leaders of congregations and with members of coordinating committees working with disabled people at the synod and national levels. The first chapter briefly presents the history of ECLCB, from its origins to the present, highlighting the development of the reflection and the effort to include disabled people within the church. The second chapter provides a historical, biblical-theological review, in an attempt to discern how people with disabilities were seen and understood in pre-Christian times. The third chapter looks for contributions towards an inclusive congregational practice by means of a dialogue in line with the Pauline image of the church as a "body" between the issues and reflections on inclusion in the educational field and the congregational day to day expressed in the statements made by the people interviewed.
