This puts some pressure on organizations to present something more than just trading products and services. Then, it appears the innovation as a key factor for differentiation. This study aims to make an analysis of the culture focused on management innovation in organizations in search of excellence. The population consists of organizations that won the Gaucho Program of Quality and Productivity awards (PGQP) in Santa Maria (RS) and that have a system of asset management based on criteria of excellence. This work include some literature of the area and, after, an exploratory research through the application of a questionnaire which consisted of opened and closed questions. The research showed that the majority of organizations identified the importance of innovation in the organizational environment; however, there is often a lack of funds for investment. It was verified that leadership encourages, in most cases, the development of creative ideas and it provides a supportive environment for it. The cost was identified as the main problem when innovating and it is also noticed that there are few investments in research and development (P&D) of product or service, mainly due to the delay of return. Finally, it was found that most organizations recognize the development of talents and entrepreneurial ideas. It is concluded that organizations identify how innovation is important and that a management innovation would provide a competitive advantage and increase quality and productivity, essential for survival of organizations. / O ambiente competitivo cresce cada vez mais. Isso faz com que as organizações apresentem algo a mais do que somente comerciar produtos e serviços. Então, surge a inovação como um fator chave para a diferenciação. Este trabalho possui como objetivo principal realizar uma análise da cultura voltada à inovação gerencial em organizações rumo à excelência. A população analisada foi constituída das organizações ganhadoras de premiações do Programa Gaúcho de Qualidade e Produtividade (PGQP) na cidade de Santa Maria (RS) e que possuem um sistema de gestão baseados nos critérios de excelência. O trabalho consta de levantamento bibliográfico e pesquisa exploratória realizada por meio da aplicação de um questionário constituído de questões abertas e fechadas. A pesquisa demonstrou que a maioria das organizações pesquisadas identifica a importância da inovação no ambiente organizacional; porém, muitas vezes há a falta de recursos para investimentos. Percebeu - se que a liderança incentiva, na maioria das vezes, o desenvolvimento de ideias criativas e proporciona um ambiente propicio a ele. O custo foi identificado como principal problema no momento de inovar e percebe-se que ainda há poucos investimentos em pesquisa e desenvolvimento (P&D) de produto ou serviço, devido principalmente a demora de retorno. Por fim, foi constatado que a maioria das organizações reconhece o desenvolvimento de talentos e ideias empreendedoras. Conclui-se que as organizações identificam o quão é essencial inovar e que uma gestão da inovação proporcionaria um diferencial competitivo e um aumento de qualidade e produtividade, características vitais para sobrevivência das organizações.

New impositions of the market turn the concepts of a mechanicist system into an inter-relation system at organizations. Today s organizations need to break their paradigms and prepare their employees for this process of continuous changes because only so they will achieve good results and will help their clients in a fast and efficient way. The research aims to analyze the implementation of changes in the productive process of a tobacco industry based on the excellence of the business. This subject choice was based on the importance of comprehending how the employees involved in the organizational change process face the changes that influence the way of performing their routine activities, the quality of life, and the organizational environment. The productive process of company X has faced profound transformations aiming to become more competitive in its area. The research aims to identify aspects that were noticed in this change, and it was based on the perception of the employees of the company. The criteria and principles of the excellence model of Fundação Nacional da Qualidade FNQ were used to get the data regarding the perception of the employees of the company. The accordance of this research to the FNQ criteria is important because the organization that follows the concepts of the program is considered a reference of excellence. The Excellence Criteria constitute a systemic model of management used by many organizations worldwide. They are based on principles that are essential to achieve excellence in the performance of the business. / A expansão do mercado internacional e as constantes mudanças no ambiente externo tornam as organizações e seus processos cada vez mais flexíveis. As novas imposições de mercado transformam os conceitos do sistema mecanicista em um sistema de inter-relações, nas organizações. A organização de hoje precisa quebrar seus paradigmas e preparar seus colaboradores para esse processo de constante mudança; somente dessa forma obterá bons resultados e atenderá a seus clientes de forma rápida e eficaz. A pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar a implementação das mudanças no processo produtivo de uma empresa fumageira, tendo como base a excelência empresarial. A escolha do tema para a realização deste trabalho foi baseada na importância de compreender como os colaboradores, que estão envolvidos no processo de mudança organizacional, se posicionam frente às mudanças que influenciam a maneira de realizar suas atividades de rotina, a qualidade de vida e o clima organizacional. O processo produtivo da empresa X passou por uma transformação profunda, com a finalidade de torná-la mais competitiva no seu mercado de atuação. A pesquisa busca identificar os aspectos percebidos nessa mudança, baseando-se na percepção dos colaboradores da empresa. Os critérios e fundamentos do modelo de excelência da Fundação Nacional da Qualidade FNQ foram utilizados para levantar os dados referentes à percepção dos colaboradores da empresa. O alinhamento da pesquisa aos critérios da FNQ é importante, pois a organização que segue os conceitos do programa é considerada referencial de excelência. Os Critérios de Excelência constituem um modelo sistêmico da gestão adotado por inúmeras organizações de Classe Mundial, sendo construídos sobre uma base de fundamentos essenciais à obtenção da excelência do desempenho.

O estudo interroga sobres as articulações entre os sentidos de currículo, avaliação e qualidade que circulam entre os professores no contexto do Colégio de Aplicação da Uerj (CAp/UERJ) e que sustentam a legitimidade da instituição considerada de excelência pelos resultados alcançados pelos seus alunos e tem como objetivo identificar as concepções de conhecimento, de currículo e de avaliação que articulam a produção de sentidos de um ensino de qualidade entre os professores do CAp/UERJ? Dessa forma, utilizando aportes pósestruturais a pesquisa é realizada a partir da apropriação dos conceitos de discurso e hegemonia desenvolvido por Ernesto Laclau na Teoria do discurso para problematizar os processos de exclusão que resultam na significação de qualidade sustentada por padrões de desempenho a priori. Para concretizar o estudo, caracterizado como um Estudo de Caso, foram realizadas entrevistas com oito professores abrangendo todos os segmentos de ensino da instituição. Além dos depoimentos, forma consultados documentos institucionais que permitiram contextualizar e compreender melhor o funcionamento do CAp/UERJ. A Análise de Conteúdo foi a ferramenta utilizada na sistematização, leitura e interpretação do material empírico. É importante destacar que não houve na investigação qualquer pretensão de estabelecer juízos de valor sobre as tensões existentes na instituição acerca das concepções que nela circulam e que as falas dos sujeitos são tomadas como interpretações provisórias que cada entrevistado confere as suas experiências no contexto em que a entrevista acontece. Experiências que, por sua vez, também são reinterpretadas pela pesquisadora. Com o estudo foi possível concluir que a significação do CAp/UERJ como uma escola de excelência é um processo dinâmico em que os professores, juntamente com outros sujeitos sociais, nem sempre diretamente ligados à instituição, lutam por hegemonia em práticas coletivas de produção curricular em meio a conflitos que ultrapassam as fronteiras da escola. Essas práticas predominantemente críticas, são centradas na defesa de um repertório de bens simbólicos que podem até ser transmitidos de formas diferentes, com diversas atividades que contemplem a diversidade da escola, mas é na avaliação que elas realmente se concretizam como críticas ao exigir compreensões semelhantes de sujeitos diferentes, principalmente no anos finais de escolaridade. No entanto, ainda que possam ser consideradas hegemônicas e pareçam persistir há algum tempo, como apontam as análises realizadas, trata-se de uma hegemonia precária que se produz em meio a tensões e conflitos nas práticas curriculares da instituição. Assim a proposta da investigação consiste em desestabilizar hegemonias mais estáveis e seus interesses particulares, autorizando que outras hegemonias brotem, promovendo o antagonismo através dos múltiplos discursos. / This study questions the connections between the meanings of curriculum, evaluation, and quality among teachers at Colégio de Aplicação da UERJ, connections which support the renown of the institution, considered excellent due to the results reached by students. The goal is to identify these concepts (knowledge, curriculum, and evaluation) behind the production of meaning in high quality education. The research is based on the concepts of discourse and hegemonies developed by Ernesto Laclau in his theories, problematizing the processes of exclusion that end up in a definition of quality education as based on a priori results. To solidify this case study, we did interviews with eight teachers in all areas at CAp/UERJ. Beside these testimonials, we consulted institutional documents to help contextualize and better understand how the school works. Our preferred tool was data analysis, when reading and interpreting the empirical material. It‟s important to highlight that there was no intention of passing judgment on the conflicts present in that institution when it comes to the ideas circulating inside of it, and that every voice is taken as a temporary interpretation by each interviewed person. Their experiences were not reinterpreted by us. It was possible to conclude that positioning CAp/UERJ as an excellent school is a constant movement in which teachers, along with other social subjects, not always directly linked to that school, fight for power in producing the curriculum, amidst conflicts that go beyond the school walls. The criticism is focused on the defense of a symbolic repertoire which may even be transmitted in different forms, through multiple activities, but are really solidified during evaluations, when they demand equal understanding from different individuals, especially toward the end of the school years. Still, although they may be considered hegemonic and seem to have existed for a while, this is a precarious position of power, happening in between conflicts and tension in the curricular space. So, the purpose of our investigation is shaking the foundations of stable positions of power and their particular interests, allowing other positions to rise, creating a division between multiple discourses.

Considerando a importância da busca pela excelência para que empresas e organizações possam se manter competitivas, diversos organismos buscaram premiar aquelas que demonstrassem melhor desempenho nos seus processos de gestão. Essas premiações são resultado de avaliações realizadas com base em critérios estabelecidos em modelos de excelência em gestão e fornecem um meio de avaliar o desempenho das organizações e identificar seus pontos fortes e fracos. O objetivo do presente trabalho é propor um modelo de avaliação da gestão dos órgãos do Poder Executivo do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul, que possibilite realizar um diagnóstico e identificar ações de melhoria, introduzindo uma cultura de excelência. Este modelo foi construído com base em estudo realizado sobre os modelos existentes e nas opiniões dos servidores públicos. Foi validado por meio da aplicação a três órgãos públicos estaduais, demonstrando ser um modelo aderente à realidade aplicada, que fornece importantes contribuições ao seu desenvolvimento dos órgãos e que pode ser utilizado como instrumento de comparação entre eles. Espera-se que o Modelo de Avaliação da Gestão sirva como ferramenta para fortalecer a gestão dos órgãos estaduais e estimular a melhoria contínua e a busca por resultados. / Considering the importance of the search for excellence that companies and organizations can remain competitive, several groups sought to award those that demonstrated better performance in their management processes. These awards are the result of assessments based on established criteria in management excellence models and provide a means to evaluate the performance of organizations and identify their strengths and weaknesses. The objective of the present work is to propose a management assessment model of Rio Grande do Sul’s Executive, which makes it possible to have a diagnosis and identify improvement actions, introducing a culture of excellence. This model was built based on a study of existing models and the opinions of public servants. It was validated through the application to three state public agencies, demonstrating that it is a model adherent to the applied reality, which provides important contributions to departments development and can be used as a comparison tool among them. It is hoped that the Management Assessment Model will serve as a tool to strengthen the management of state agencies and stimulate continuous improvement and search for results.

A excelência logística constitui-se em um dos temas de freqüentes discussões no contexto acadêmico e empresarial, face à representatividade da atividade logística para a competitividade das organizações. Diversos autores apontam a existência de áreas-chave para o alcance dessa excelência, mas deixam de abordar as possíveis relações que possam existir entre elas. Diante deste cenário, o trabalho tem como objetivo contribuir com a identificação e caracterização das relações entre tais áreas-chave, mais especificamente no disparo e nos resultados gerados por processos de mudanças relacionados à logística. Para tanto, realizou-se um estudo de múltiplos casos junto a seis empresas do setor de bens de capital agrícolas identificadas pelo processo de amostragem do trabalho como empresas de excelência logística. Os resultados da pesquisa permitiram constatar que áreas-chave da excelência logística se relacionam diretamente com o disparo de processos de mudanças, além de sofrerem impactos com os resultados gerados pelos mesmos. Outro importante resultado reside na construção de uma estrutura apontando as principais características de casos bem sucedidos em gestão de mudanças relacionadas à logística de empresas do setor de bens de capital agrícolas, podendo servir como base de referência para empresas de outros setores na melhoria de seus processos logísticos. / The logistical excellence has been a frequently discussed topic in the enterprise and academic context, due to the importance of logistics to enhance the companies\' competitiveness. Several authors pointed out the existence of key elements to achieving the logistical excellence, but they usually fail to approach possible relationships among these elements, mainly when referring to triggers and results of logistics change process. In this way, the aim of this work was to identify and characterize these relationships. Therefore, a multiple-case study was undertaken in six companies, which were identified by research sampling process as high logistical performing companies. The results of this research confirm the relationships between the key elements and the change triggers and outcomes. The second research\'s contribution concerns the construction of a descriptive panel about the main characteristics of successful logistics change management in agricultural capital goods sector, which may be used by different industrial segments as reference for logistics process improvement.

O presente trabalho objetiva identificar e analisar as dimensões de excelência logística, desenvolvidas como forma de se obter vantagens competitivas, buscando analisar a influência do trabalho organizado em equipes na excelência logística de uma organização do mercado de Gás Liquefeito de Petróleo. O trabalho foi realizado através de uma revisão bibliográfica sobre os temas excelência logística nas organizações e trabalho organizado em equipes. Como metodologia foi proposto um construto teórico de excelência logística e trabalho em equipe, realizado através de uma revisão bibliográfica sobre os temas, com a apresentação de um estudo de caso em uma empresa líder do mercado em que atua, de forma a ilustrar a aplicação dos conceitos propostos. Como resultado, o trabalho conclui que a organização do trabalho em equipes se mostra grande apoiadora das práticas de excelência logística nessa organização, integrando e possibilitando o desenvolvimento das diferentes dimensões de excelência logística. / This paper aims to identify and analyze the dimensions of logistics excellence, developed as a way to gain competitive advantage, seeking to analyze the influence of teamwork in the logistics excellence of a Liquefied Petroleum Gas organization. The study was conducted through a literature review on the issues logistics excellence in organizations and teamwork. The methodology has been proposed a theoretical construct of logistics excellence and teamwork, accomplished through a literature review on the issues, with the presentation of a case study in a leading company in the market it operates, in order to illustrate the application of concepts proposed. As a result, the paper concludes that the organization of teamwork is a strong supporter of logistics best practices in this organization, integrating and enabling the development of the different dimensions of logistics excellence.

Aqui defendemos que a relação erótica é a dimensão que melhor podese utilizar para falarmos do cuidado de si, sendo então, amor e cuidado, elementos dependentes um do outro para que se possa por eles alcançar a excelência. Para isto, analisamos os sete discursos da obra o Simpósio, de Platão, para tentar extrair deles a noção grega de cuidado de si, e verificar a relação entre Eros e cuidado como possibilidade de direcionar o homem para o Bem. Cada um dos discursos traz em si elementos que demonstram a preocupação do personagem com um amor examinado, ainda que por uma perspectiva particular, examinando em que o amor pode ser benéfico ao homem. / The theme of “the care of the self” is, in the history of ancient philosophy, a maximum always present, and meets in theSymposium's Socrates, the highest point of his philosophical notion, where a personage is showed, by Plato, as the master and learner of love and care; At the same time, Symposium brings the consequences of the lack of “the care of the self” in the erotic relationship symbolized in Alcibiades character. Here we argue that the erotic relationship is the extent to which can best be used to talk about the "the care of the self", being love and care, dependent elements from one another so that we can for them to achieve excellence. The present study aims to analyze the seven speeches of the work Symposium, by Plato, to try to extract from them the Greek notion of “the care of the self", and verify the relationship between Eros and “the care of the self” as a possibility to direct the man to the well. Each of speech carries with it elements that demonstrate the author's preoccupation with a love examined by, even by a particular perspective, examining where love can be beneficial to man.

O regime da cidade virtuosa é o tema central dos escritos políticos de Alfrb÷ levando a uma ordem política cujos princípios são a realização da excelência humana ou da virtude, conduzindo à atividades úteis à aquisição da perfeição e da felicidade, pois o homem não se torna perfeito meramente pelos princípios naturais presentes nele e ele não é eternamente perfeito, mas precisa adquirir sua perfeição através da atividade que procede da compreensão racional, da deliberação e da escolha entre várias alternativas sugeridas pela razão. / The virtuous regime is the central theme of Alfrb÷s political writings and theres a political order whose guiding principles are the realization of human excellence or virtue, taking to activities useful to the achievement of perfection and happiness. Man is not rendered perfect merely through the natural principles present in him and he is not eternally perfect, but need to achieve his perfection through the activity proceeding from rational understanding, deliberation and choosing among the various alternatives suggested by reason.

Abstract The information and communication technology (ICT) industry has expanded rapidly during the past decades and has changed in terms of frequent technology development, increase in product complexity, constant time-to-market pressures, heavy price erosion and the decrease in physical dimensions. Successful product development thus requires effective requirements engineering and acknowledging the different needs of internal and external stakeholders. A vital challenge for ICT companies is requirements for products typically changing during product development. In addition, requirements are not interpreted the same way in different parts of organisations. Today’s products being more complicated than ever, and customer segments more fragmented, requirements engineering and testing is currently a bottleneck for product development and production. In this dissertation, requirements engineering in ICT companies is studied from four complementary viewpoints – current challenges, manufacturing requirements, external requirements, and optimal acceptance limits in manufacturing. The dissertation is qualitative and inductive in nature and is based on interviewing experienced industrial managers. The study included also an element that can be seen as constructive. The researcher has analysed the obtained material and made conclusions. The main result of this dissertation can be summarised as requirements engineering having a coordinating role in complex ICT product development. In addition, this study highlights the potential of the design for excellence (DfX) concept for addressing a vast amount of requirements from numerous internal and external stakeholders. ICT companies should consider full integration of tools and databases related to requirements. Also, delaying decision-making in product development projects to a stage, where adequate amount of information is available, could help coping with changing requirements. Addressing the challenges of a large and complex organisation requires creating and documenting processes for a vast amount of issues. It may be sensible to consider the benefits of establishing a separate DfX management organisation for coordinating internal and external requirements. In addition, the managers in ICT companies should notice that in contrast to the conventional thinking, widening the manufacturing acceptance limits makes business sense in some cases.

The aim of the master thesis is to emphasize the importance of process alignment in The Fourth Industrial Revolution. By mapping of current descriptive maturity models and their application within digitalization, the thesis offers a new process maturity model for the phenomenon referred to as Industry 4.0 (i4.0). The model is based on the theoretical form of previous models, as well as on implementation of newly introduced trends. The contribution of the thesis rests upon the specific solution. The suggested Process Improvement Scheme presents applicable way for improvement of digital process preparedness in project-oriented service organizations and determines main value factors which lead to higher quality of employee processes. In the same time, the master thesis suggest a new utilization of i4.0 principles focused predominantly on manufacturing processes, and therefore includes areas which will need to be addressed in the near future for smooth process transition into i4.0 era.
