This paper performs a foreign trade analysis for the automotive sector in Brazil. Elasticities of substitution between imported vehicles and those produced and sold in Brazil, as well as between exported vehicles and those produced for the internal market, are calculated for the period of 1997 to 2015. This approach was first proposed by Armington (1969) and it was use Kume, Tourinho e Pedroso (2007). Using data of total import and export sum of vehicles, domestic, import and export prices, the Armington elasticities are computed according to the methodology of Tourinho, Kume e Pedroso (2007). / O setor automobil??stico no Brasil ?? respons??vel por 20% do produto interno bruto (PIB) da ind??stria de transforma????o e, por ser um setor estrat??gico, historicamente ?? amparado pelo governo brasileiro. O presente trabalho consiste numa an??lise do com??rcio exterior para o setor automobil??stico no Brasil. Para tanto, foram estimadas as elasticidades de substitui????o entre ve??culos importados e ve??culos produzidos e vendidos internamente, bem como entre ve??culos exportados e ve??culos produzidos e vendidos internamente, no per??odo de 1997 a 2015. A abordagem adotada foi a proposta por Armington (1969) e utilizada em Tourinho, Kume e Pedroso (2007). Utilizando uma base de dados composta por s??ries de volumes de exporta????es, importa????es e produ????o nacional de ve??culos, al??m de pre??os de ve??culos importados, exportados e pre??os dos ve??culos vendidos internamente, foi aplicada a metodologia sugerida por Tourinho, Kume e Pedroso (2007) para a estima????o das elasticidades de substitui????o de Armington.

The most typical case is the agribusiness. Rio Grande do Norte state has important role, because 90% of the output of the melon exported by Brazil is produced at Assu/Mossor?. The present work planned to verify the evolution of the culture of the melon produced at Assu/Mossor? area, from 1990 to 2003. Through descriptive research, utilizing the case study and documentary analysis of secondary data this work showed the evolution of the area reaped of melon in the pole Assu/Mossor?, the quantity produced of melon and of the value of the output of the melon between 1990 and 2003. The research verified that all of the factors studied show growth during the analyzed period, showing up the importance of the agribusiness for the region. However the analysis shows the vulnerability of the sector concerning external macroeconomics factors, such as the exchange rates. Showing the importance and/or dependence of the producers for public actions to development of the culture, that might be on areas like infrastructure, economics or taxes / Alguns setores no Brasil v?m ganhando proemin?ncia no mercado internacional, configurando-se em ?reas din?micas para o Pa?s. A manga, produzida nessa regi?o, tem alcan?ado uma boa inser??o internacional, principalmente, nos mercados europeu e americano. Entretanto, o pre?o interno tem absorvido cada vez mais o impacto das oscila??es do mercado internacional afetando as expectativas de produ??o e comercializa??o dos produtores. O objetivo do estudo ? analisar a rela??o de transmiss?o dos pre?os de exporta??o da manga, com os pre?os do mercado americano e da Uni?o Europeia, no per?odo entre 2003 a 2013. Pretende-se, ainda, analisar os fatores que afetaram as flutua??es das exporta??es da manga brasileira para os principais mercados importadores. Para alcan?ar os objetivos propostos, empregouse, na metodologia, o modelo vetorial autoregressivo, com a finalidade de se constatar os mecanismos de transmiss?o de pre?os e os mecanismos de impactos por meio da fun??o impulso resposta. Utilizou-se, ainda, o modelo Constant Market Share, com o objetivo de se observar a import?ncia dos efeitos competitividade, destino, e crescimento do com?rcio mundial sobre as mudan?as das exporta??es brasileiras de manga, no per?odo em an?lise. Os dados utilizados foram obtidos no database do Minist?rio de Desenvolvimento e Com?rcio Exterior - MIDIC e do FAOSTAT (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations). Entre os resultados encontrados, constatou-se, que os pre?os do mercado interno brasileiro sofrem influ?ncia dos pre?os do mercado americano, e que choques de pre?os promovidos nesse mercado podem repercutir no crescimento dos pre?os internos por v?rios meses. Notou-se ainda, que o efeito competitividade representou a maior parcela do crescimento efetivo das exporta??es brasileira, ou seja, o pa?s melhorou sua competitividade dentre os demais pa?ses exportadores. / Climate and environmental conditions allowed Brazil to become one of the largest producers of tropical fruits in the world. The S?o Francisco Valley, over the years, has emerged as the main fruit-producing region of the country, especially mangos and grapes. The mango, which is produced in this region, has reached a good international position, especially in European and American markets. However, the domestic price has absorbed more and more the impact of fluctuations in the international market expectations affecting the production and marketing of producers. The objective of the study is to analyze the transmission ratio of export prices of the mango, with the American market prices and the European Union in the period from 2003 to 2013. It is intended also to analyze the factors affecting the fluctuations of exports Brazilian mango for the main import markets. To achieve the proposed objectives, we used, in the methodology, the autoregressive vector model, in order to find the price transmission mechanism and the mechanisms of impacts through the impulse response function. We also used, the Constant Market Share model, in order to observe the importance of the effects competitiveness, destination, and growth in world trade on the changes of Brazilian mango exports in the period. The data used were obtained from the database of the Ministry of Development and Foreign Trade - MIDIC and FAOSTAT (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations). Among the results, it was found that the Brazilian domestic prices are influenced by the US market price, and that price shocks promoted this market can impact on the growth of the internal prices for several months. It was noted also that the competitiveness effect accounted for the largest portion of the effective growth of Brazilian exports, in other word, the country has improved its competitiveness among the other exporting countries.

In this context the objective of this work was to investigate the perception of the shrimp exporting entrepreneurs of Rio Grande do Norte, with relation to the impact of the Brazilian environmental legislation in the companies competitiveness at the external market. From data collected from the controllers of the companies, it was used a survey methodology, with exploratory and descriptive character. The results found in this study indicate that the companies, in general way, understand that the environmental legal requirements do not confuse nor help in the search and conquest of new international markets. A little more of the half of the researched companies, does not see the legislation rigid as important factor of competitiveness. However a sufficiently significant percentage, already has a more strategical vision on the subject, or at least already it heard to speak on such possibility / As exporta??es brasileiras v?m crescendo de forma constante nos ?ltimos anos, incentivadas pela globaliza??o e por pol?ticas p?blicas voltadas para o aumento do super?vit interno. Following the corporative strategy, the plant went through a huge technological structure build-up process and started to play a key role in the Global Supply chain as Resende facility took over the production of four intermediate steps of the company s main pharmaceutical ingredient, exporting two of these steps. This is an atypical situation in the current Brazilian pharmaceutical scenery, as importation is really remarkable in this sector. A study case was established on this situation and the field research method was based on guided interviews with professionals of the Finance, Engineering and Production areas who actively took part in the development process. Among the observed difficulties regarding innovative activities, the ones related to infrastructure, specialized service and labor qualification stood out. The low standard level of Brazilian international marketing as well as the low investment towards research and development in the pharmaceutical area show how important Novartis initiative is. Not only because of the social and economical benefits observed, such as production volume increase, creation of new jobs and increase of quality standards, but also due to the chance of technological background development of the national industry. At last, it is also important to mention the fundamental participation of public authorities who made the country a lot more attractive to investments at the described level, resulting in changes in the direct foreign investment policy. / O objetivo geral nesta disserta??o consiste em investigar o processo de capacita??o tecnol?gica ocorrido na empresa Novartis Bioci?ncia S.A., em seu estabelecimento de Produ??o Farmoqu?mica localizado na cidade de Resende, no estado do Rio de Janeiro. Atrav?s da estrat?gia corporativa, a planta sofreu um amplo processo de reestrutura??o tecnol?gica, tornando-se uma planta chave no abastecimento da cadeia produtiva do grupo em n?vel global, assumindo a produ??o e exporta??o de etapas do principal f?rmaco da companhia. Por tratar-se de uma situa??o at?pica ao que ocorre com as grandes empresas transnacionais do ramo farmac?utico instaladas no Brasil, sendo o mercado nacional fortemente marcado pelo alto n?vel de importa??o de produtos farmac?uticos e farmoqu?micos, foi elaborado um estudo de caso. A metodologia da pesquisa de campo baseou-se em entrevistas estruturadas com profissionais dos Departamentos de Produ??o, Engenharia e Finan?as, que participaram ativamente do processo. Entre os obst?culos observados em atividades inovativas, destacaram-se aqueles ligados ? desqualifica??o da infra-estrutura de servi?os especializados e m?o-de-obra de opera??o. The world economy has had growing market internationalization, known as globalization. In this context, the exportation has to be faced as a way to minimize the inner market difficulties and increase the levels of quality and productivity to attend the external markets in a competitive way. A company exportation process is not linked to its dimensions, but connected to the commitment with quality, creativity and professionalism. The search for new productive frontiers has benefited Brazilian beekeeper, mainly the northeast ones. Besides, the claim for products that are free of chemical remains, with a bigger aggregate value has increased every day, and the Apismel Company is benefited for having potential to produce organic honey. This paper approaches a case study realized with Sixty-nine beekeeper from Serra do Mel, RN, that make the Apismel Company and it aims to investigate the competitive factors that affects honey exportation. In order to obtain subsidies to execute the objective of this work, it was chosen a questionnaire as instrument of research. The questionnaire was structured from variables that were considered as directions of competition in honey exportation. The results were tabled in Software (Statistics version 11.0). The descriptive, exploiter and Kolmogorov-Smirnov analyses were used to analyze the obtained results. At the end, this work recommends that the Apismel Company promote capacitating courses and technical consultations at the many villages that make the county, to ripen and add efficiency in handling implementation in order to equilibrate production factors and to attract inner and external markets / Este trabalho aborda a situa??o da Apismel diante do processo de exporta??o, com enfoque no mel (Apis mellifera). A crescente internacionaliza??o dos mercados se manifesta na economia mundial com conceito de globaliza??o. To that end, it uses resources such as fairs, business round meetings, institutional mission to potentially importer countries and social promotion among others. Due to the amplitude of the national territory, Apex shares this mission with representative entities of Brazilian economy s different sectors, in which helps the affiliated companies to increase the exporter market thought projects that are intended to a specific target audience. The entities associated to APEX must follow a set of rules so the companies represented by them have access to public funds coming from the National Institute of Social Service known as the Instituto Nacional do Seguro Social - (INSS). With the intent to verify which planning practice and budget control are used and its effectiveness on these entities, this study analyzed, through a census survey sanded to all the units connected to APEX, which were the methodology applied to the planning practice and the assembled projects control. The survey was filled by 38 project managers (53,52%). Through the answers, it was identified the effective planning practices and budget control that need improvement. The following were positively identified: qualified professional, good financial management and cash flow reports that help the managers on the decisive project structure. Among the items that need improvement, it was pointed out the lack of professional capacitation for about 5% of the individuals involved in the project, the F??nix-Apex system insufficiency and the failure on the communication, action plan and budget control to all involved in the project. It was presented, to improve such failures, courses, training and constant capacitation to team members, periodic meetings with project managers and collaborators, restructuration of manual and the F??nix system, and a accountability process follow up. / A Apex-Brasil (APEX) ?? uma pessoa jur??dica ligada ao governo federal, criada para fomentar as exporta????es das empresas brasileiras. APEX devem seguir um conjunto de regras, para que as empresas por elas representadas tenham acesso aos recursos p??blicos, oriundos das contribui????es ao Instituto Nacional do Seguro Social (INSS). Com o objetivo de descrever, conhecer e verificar quais pr??ticas de planejamento e controle s??o utilizadas e a efic??cia das mesmas nas entidades, esta pesquisa analisou atrav??s de uma pesquisa censit??ria enviada a todas as entidades ligadas a APEX, quais as metodologias aplicadas ao planejamento e controle dos projetos conveniados. Os question??rios foram respondidos por 38 gestores de projetos (53,52%). Atrav??s deles, foram conhecidas as pr??ticas eficazes de planejamento e controle e as que necessitam de melhorias. Positivamente identificou-se atrav??s dos resultados: profissionais capacitados, bem como uma gest??o financeira e relat??rios de fluxo de caixa que auxiliam os gestores na estrutura decis??ria do projeto. Dentre os itens que necessitam de melhorias pode-se apontar a falta de treinamento para cerca de 5% dos indiv??duos envolvidos nos projetos, a insufici??ncia do sistema F??nix-APEX e a falha na comunica????o do plano de a????o e do controle or??ament??rio a todos os envolvidos no projeto. Como propostas para melhorar as pr??ticas falhas recomendam-se cursos, treinamentos e capacita????es constantes para os membros da equipe, reuni??es peri??dicas entre os gestores de projeto e os colaboradores dos projetos, a reestrutura????o dos manuais e do sistema F??nix, bem como um novo processo de acompanhamento da presta????o de contas.
