Internet creates a lot of possibilities every day. One of them is the communities created around new characters in web that keep it together and influences its people: the digital influencers (DI). The digital influencer use a lot of many tools of the internet for work and are not present only in one media; the DI usually uses the blogs for posting texts, YouTube and Instagram for sharing his life and also chat with his fans using Facebook and Twitter. That way, the digital influencer is able to share his point of view about labels, products, experiences, and other kind of stuff that are part of his life. The DI is a full and complete media, promoting himself and negotiating with his fans the content shared. This way, new media on the internet raises a closer and more direct relationship between an idol and his fans. So we intend to study the communicative processes between an idol and his fans in the context mentioned by exploring in the books and academic texts the many concepts about fan, its culture, routine, consume and kinds of communication. We choose the influencer Karol Pinheiro and her channel "As coisas mais legais do mundo" for observing her fans, studying and then create our text. Our main objective is understanding all kind of interaction between idol-fan and fan-fan on internet and which social media they use for being in and socialize.

Since the last decade, the countries members of ICAO, via its aeronautical authorities, has been gradually increasing the restrictions on external aircraft noise levels, especially in the vicinity of airports. Because that, the new aero-engines need quieter designs, so noise prediction techniques for aero-engines are getting even more important. Semi-analytical techniques have undergone a major evolution since the 70th until nowadays, but semi-empirical techniques still have their bases pegged in techniques and data defined on the 70th, developed in the ANOPP project. An Aeroacoustics Fan Rig to investigate a Rotor/Stator assembly was developed at Aeronautical Engineering Department of São Carlos School of Engineering, allowing the development of a methodology capable of defining a semi-empirical technique based on new data and methods. Such rig is able to vary the rotation, the rotor/stator spacing and mass flow rate, resulting in a set of 71 configurations tested. To measure the noise, a microphone wall antenna with 14 sensors were used. The broadband noise was modeled by a pink noise and the tonal with exponential behavior, resulting in 5 parameters: broadband noise level, decay and form factor and the level and decay of tonal noise. A superficial kriging regression were used to approach the parameters using the experimental variables and the investigation has shown that Mach Tip and RSS are the most important variables that defines the noise, as well on ANOPP. A prediction model for the rotor/stator noise are defined with the 5 approximation of the parameters, that allow to predict the spectra at operations points not measured. The model analyses of the model resulted on a tool for results interpretation. Tree different cross validation techniques are applied to model: leave ou out, Monte Carlo and repeated k-folds. That analysis shows that the model developed has average error of 2.35 dBs and standard deviation of 0.91 for the spectrum level predicted.

A modelling methodology to quantify the impact of plant anomalies on ID fan capacity in coal fired power plantsKhobo, Rendani Yaw-Boateng Sean 13 September 2020 (has links)
In South Africa, nearly 80 % of electricity is generated from coal fired power plants. Due to the complexity of the interconnected systems that make up a typical power plant, analysis of the root causes of load losses is not a straightforward process. This often leads to losses incorrectly being ascribed to the Induced Draught (ID) fan, where detection occurs, while the problem actually originates elsewhere in the plant. The focus of this study was to develop and demonstrate a modelling methodology to quantify the effects of major plant anomalies on the capacity of ID fans in coal fired power plants. The ensuing model calculates the operating point of the ID fan that is a result of anomalies experienced elsewhere in the plant. This model can be applied in conjunction with performance test data as part of a root cause analysis procedure. The model has three main sections that are integrated to determine the ID fan operating point. The first section is a water/steam cycle model that was pre-configured in VirtualPlantTM. The steam plant model was verified via energy balance calculations and validated against original heat balance diagrams. The second is a draught group model developed using FlownexSETM. This onedimensional network is a simplification of the flue gas side of the five main draught group components, from the furnace inlet to the chimney exit, characterising only the aggregate heat transfer and pressure loss in the system. The designated ID fan model is based on the original fan performance curves. The third section is a Boiler Mass and Energy Balance (BMEB) specifically created for this purpose to: (1) translate the VirtualPlant results for the steam cycle into applicable boundary conditions for the Flownex draught group model; and (2) to calculate the fluid properties applicable to the draught group based on the coal characteristics and combustion process. The integrated modelling methodology was applied to a 600 MW class coal fired power plant to investigate the impact of six major anomalies that are typically encountered. These are: changes in coal quality; increased boiler flue gas exit temperatures; air ingress into the boiler; air heater inleakage to the flue gas stream; feed water heaters out-of-service; and condenser backpressure degradation. It was inter alia found that a low calorific value (CV) coal of 14 MJ/kg compared to a typical 17 MJ/kg reduced the fan's capacity by 2.1 %. Also, having both HP FWH out of service decreased the fan's capacity by 16.2 %.

Doing digital football fandomRouchotas, Angelos January 2020 (has links)
By applying ethnographic method this study sought to explore how football’s mediatization is inviting the digital displacement of fan culture by social media-based communities. It also aimed to understand how contemporary football fans engage online as part of identifying themselves as supporters of a football club. This research was motivated by the global resonance of fandom which is due to the media becoming part of the experience of being a fan, resulting to the formation of transnational communities. The two-way online communication has enabled supporting from afar, forming digital fans. Liverpool FC’s Greek fans official group on Facebook was used as the case study for content analysis, along with in-depth interviews. The results have shown that social media have been the facilitators of football’s mediatization, digitalizing fan habits that used to be parts of the social life. Self-identification as a fan has taken a much more cosmopolitan outlook, which prioritizes participation. The dimensions of participation are though mediatized, resulting to highly engaged communities regardless of locality. To deal with the redefinition of fandom expression, this thesis has contributed with an end-result protype of a service addressing the process of doing digital fandom. As media technology develops, football’s mediatization will only exponentially increase and this study can offer insights to the better understanding of the different dimensions that digital fan culture adds to the sport.

This study deals with the reception of fictional works, when it materializes as “derivative works”, i.e. products made by active audiences, and seek the social factors explaining the shape took by these creations in a given context. If a lot of user generated contents now on the Internet –thanks to the digitalization of culture and the spread of ICT– shows that media products are more and more appropriated by amateurs, the specificity of these cultural practices and their continuity with older types of fictional involvements must be assessed: it will be exemplified through the case of fanfictions, also on a growing trend since the 2000s on the Web, that is texts, written by fans, which finish off, extend or correct original fictional works. Mixing cultural and media sociology with literary history, this dissertation suggests that fanfictions rest upon basic mechanisms linked to the reception and the circulation of fictional worlds, but always constrained by social, economic, media and legal factors. Based on the study of a thousand of fanfictions, observations from one of their main archives, and comparisons with literary successes which also generated derivatives texts, this research first discusses fanfictions’ past, extending it further than the 1960s when they were published in fanzines, but distinguishing it from the whole literature’s past. The inquiry then reveals how fanfictions are still the result of a collective production and organization, in which the broadcasting medium, the interactions between fans and with creative industries construct their format and content.

An Analysis of the Relationship between College Football Fans and their Rival TeamsYoung, Morgan 09 December 2016 (has links)
The current study explored how fan identification and negative rival perception affect the decision to blast or support the rival in indirect competition in college football. 258 participants (M age=24.15, 51.16% female) responded after being targeted via social media, email, and in person. Fans higher in identification had a more negative rival perception, were more likely to blast the rival, and were less likely to support the rival in indirect competition. A negative rival perception increased blasting and decreased rival support. The results contribute to current literature on rivalry and fan identification and aid marketers in marketing segmentation and targeting new segments to increase viewership and attendance.
