Folkets verk är ett folkets hus riktat till lokalsamhället med samlingslokaler, mötesrum, ytor för evenemang, fest, men också en plats för skapande och vårdande med utgångspunkt i återbruk. Med återbruk som centralt fokus kan lokalsamhället lära sig om det ökande behovet av att återbruka i teorin, att laga och vårda i praktiken och samtidigt få tillgång till en plats där detta kan göras tillsammans med andra. Utöver en öppen, lättillgänglig plats och byggnad för allmänhetens alla behov av att samlas finns verkstäder för trä, metall, textil, färg och montering för att återbruk och upcycling ska vara möjligt. Även inlämning, sortering och lager för omhändertagande av produkter finns i byggnaden och sköts av en kommersiell verksamhet. Material och produkter som inte verksamheten vill/behöver använda sig av tillgängliggörs för allmänhetens brukande. Då byggnaden ska uppfattas som tillgänglig, öppen och ödmjuk är gestaltningen enkel, rationell och bekant. Byggnaden har placerats ödmjukt på en plats där lite inverkan behöver göras för att byggnaden ska kunna uppföras. Trä är både bärande material och klär byggnaden. Byggnaden är rationell och konstruktivt läsbar. Som motvikt till det strikta har variation skapats genom accentuerade entréer, i taklandskapets olika utformning och genom uppbrytningar och en bearbetad detaljering i fasader. / Folkets verk is a community center for the local community with meeting rooms, areas for events, parties, but also a place for creating and caring for the already produced through recycling. With recycling as the central focus, the local community can learn about the growing need to recycle in theory, to repair and care for in practice and at the same time gain access to a place where this can be done together with others. In addition to an open, easily accessible place and building for the general public's need to gather, there are workshops for wood, metal, textiles, painting and assembly to make recycling and upcycling possible.  As the building is to be perceived as accessible, open and humble, the design is simple, rational and familiar. The building has been humbly placed in where the building can be erected without much impact in the existing environment. Wood is both the load-bearing material and clothes the building. The building is rational and constructively readable. As a counterweight to the strict, variation has been created through accentuated entrances, in the different design of the roof landscape and through detailing in facades

Projektet har handlat mycket om att placera en stor volym på en liten och bergig tomt och få den att smälta in i landskapet. Huset är delvis under mark och ligger i en brant sluttning med utsikt mot ett jordbrukslandskap. Det är en kommunal tomt i Södertälje vid landsvägen mellan Järna och Hölö, bredvid Ytterenebys naturreservat. Bussar stannar vid platsen och detta var viktigt för att göra det enklare att ta sig dit. Det finns flera vandringsleder i närheten vilket gör att besökare från ett större område kan se huset som ett utflyktsmål. Byggnadens ambition är att vara som ett öppet allrum åt medborgarna med plats för både diskussioner och nöje. Produktionen är en kvarn med tillhörande bageri, som knyts ihop med Folkets hus genom caféet i foajén. Fasaden har stora glaspartier med träribbor för att ge huset en öppen karaktär. Konstruktionen är av betong och stål på våning 1 och 2, som ligger souterräng. Våning 3 och 4 är av KL-trä. / The project is focused on placing a large volume on a small and steep site and getting it to blend into the landscape. The house is partly underground and is located in a slope overlooking an agricultural landscape. The site is owned by the municipal of Södertälje and sits next to the country road between Järna and Hölö, next to Yttereneby's nature reserve. Buses stop at the site and this was important to make it easier to access the area and the building. There are several hiking trails nearby which allows visitors from a larger area to see the house as a destination. The building's ambition is to function as an open room for the citizens, a place for both discussions and recreation. The production is a mill with a bakery, which is connected with the community center (Folkets hus) through the café in the foyer. The facade consists of large glass sections to give the house an open character. The facade has large glass sections with wooden laths to give the house an open character. The construction is made of concrete and steel on floors 1 and 2, which is located sousterrain. Floors 3 and 4 are made of Cross-laminated timber (CLT).

Industrihuset är ett "Folkets hus" i Järna utanför Södertälje som står resilient mot skiftningar i de kulturella och sociala strukturer som sker under husets  liv. Genom att bryta upp och abstrahera arkitekturen till de basala arkitektoniska funktionerna som folket, individen & programmet,  behöver så skapar Industrihuset en ram där folket kan förändra arkitektoniska egenskaper i samverkan med de samtida kulturella och sociala strukturerna. Industrihuset är en demokratisk plats för alla, för folket, i folkets samtida kontext. Industrihuset blir ett fritt forum, ett offentligt vardagsrum där rum för; verkstad, teater, biograf, mötesrum, konsert, rave, dop, vigsel, begravningsceremoni, ateljé, musikstudio, meditationsplats, performance, padelbana, schackturnering, demonstration, revolution,  [infoga framtida ockupation]... separat, parallellt, samtidigt, sammanflätat kan ske.  Denna dynamik omfamnar begreppet hybriditet och ger huset kraft att hantera den kulturella utvecklingen, en social hållbarhet. / Industrihuset is a community house ("Folkets hus") in Järna, Södertälje that stays resilient against the shifts in cultural and social structures that happens during the house's existence.  By breaking up and abstracting the architecture to its basal architectural functions that the people, the individual and the program needs, the house creates a frame where the people can change architectural characteristics in conjunction with contemporary cultural and social structures. Industrihuset is a democratic place for everyone, for the people, in the contemporary context of the people. Industrihuset will be a free forum, a public living room with room for; workshop, theater, cinema, meeting room, concert, rave, baptism, wedding, funeral ceremony, studio, music studio, meditation site, performance, paddle court, chess tournament, demonstration, revolution, [insert future occupation] ... separately, in parallel, simultaneously, intertwined can take place. This dynamics embraces the concept of hybridity and gives the house the power to manage cultural development and social sustainability.

Mitt kandidatprojekt är ett Folkets hus i Järna tätort. Placeringen av byggnaden är ett resultat av en platsanalys som identifierade en vilja från Södertälje kommun att stärka de existerande tätorterna. En ytterligare anledning till placeringen är min önskan om att ett hus för folket ska vara så enkelt att nå för så många som möjligt.  Byggnaden är en kombination av folkets hus, kulturhus och studieförbund. Fokus ligger på scenkonsten och dess olika uttryck, främst dansen. Dessa rum är bestämda i form och syfte. I kontrast till de bestämda rummen finns ytor som är nära en total frihet och flexibilitet. De fria ytorna kan, samtidigt eller under olika tider, agera dansgolv, utställning, foajé, hyreslokal, ateljé, kontor, väntrum osv. Byggnaden har en hybridkonstruktion av trä och betong. Grunden och en väggstuktur som sträcker sig genom byggnadens tre våningar är utformade i betong, utöver dessa element är byggnaden konstruerad av limträ-pelare och balkar. Den enkla stommen öppnar även upp för att byggnaden ska kunna möta olika behov över tid. / My bachelor project is a community center in Järna, Södertälje. The location of the building is the result of a site analysis that identified a will from Södertälje municipality to strengthen the existing urban areas. An additional reason for the location is my desire that a house for the people should be as easy to reach for as many as possible. The building is a combination of a community center, culture house and study association. The focus is on the performing arts and their various expressions, mainly dance. These rooms are determined in form and purpose. In contrast to the definite rooms, there are areas that are close to a total freedom and flexibility. The unfilled spaces can, at the same time or at different times, act as dance floors, exhibitions, foyers, rental rooms, studios, offices, waiting rooms, etc. The building has a hybrid construction of wood and concrete. The foundation and a wall structure that extends through the building's three floors are formed of concrete, and in addition to these elements, the building is constructed of laminated wood pillars and beams. The simple structure also enables the building to meet different needs over time.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att beskriva och förklara hur Fisksätra Folkets hus styrs med ett interimistiskt ledarskap. Den ska även belysa vilka konsekvenser som kan uppstå när en organisation styrs av ett interimistiskt ledarskap. Studien besvarar tre olika frågeställningar: "Hur har det tillfälliga ledarskapet påverkat organisationen samt relationen mellan ledaren och medarbetarna?" "Hur upplever den tillfälliga ledaren i Fisksätra folketshus, sin tillfälliga position, samt hur upplever medarbetarna i organisationen det tillfälliga ledarskapet?" och " Vilka egenskaper, utifrån den tillsatta ledarens och medarbetarnas egna erfarenheter, uppfattas vara viktiga i ett tillfälligt ledarskaps position och hur bör hon utöva dessa egenskaper? Undersökningen genomfördes med en kvalitativ ansats. Studien använde sig av semi-strukturerade intervjuer på samtliga anställda i Fisksätra Folkets Hus. Intervjuerna sammanställdes och utifrån den samlade empirin kunde vi tolka och dra slutsatser kring frågeställningarna. Empirin analyserades utifrån begreppet interimistisk ledarskap, ledarskapsstil, kommunikation och motivation. Resultatet visade att det tillfälliga ledarskapet innebar en osäkerhet kring framtiden. Trots att ledaren förbättrat verksamheten i organisationen, genom att effektivisera grupparbetet och utökad kontroll, var osäkerheten kvarstående. Ledaren hade under sin anställningsperiod ändrat sin synsätt på sin tillfälliga position, där hon gick från att ha ett Trailblazing perspektiv till ett Caretaking perspektiv. För att ledaren skulle kunna driva verksamheten var hon tvungen att anpassa sig efter den rådande miljön, genom att utnyttja medarbetarnas kunskap och kontaktnät.

Many people in Sweden live in displacement, from refugees, migrants, unemployed, homeless, lonely elderly or other socially vulnerable groups. The current built environment in Sweden, especially the rural environment, is segregating different social classes including people of different ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds. On top of that there is a lack of social meeting points where these different types of people can meet for interaction. A vicious circle of segregation with invisible borders is created. This obstacle makes social sustainability weak. There should be more places like Folkets hus where people are naturally interacting with people of other backgrounds during an activity. This would strengthen Swedish integration and social sustainability. However today most of the Folkets hus are “sleepy” due to the results of Swedish individualism and the aftermath of the pandemic. A new post-pandemic Folkets hus is needed. The question is “how can Folkets hus work as an architectural social meeting point within rural Swedish contexts and contribute to improved integration and help displaced people?” and “what is the future of the post pandemic Folkets hus in Swedish small towns?” Today’s Folkets hus still represents the previous interests from the second epoch of Folkets hus with buildings adjusted for activities based on culture and art through dances, concerts and parties. A change is needed. Folkets hus should reflect the interests of today’s population, not the interests of the people livingin the past. More current interests are nature based due to the results of the pandemic but also health and work-out based due to the Swedish individualism which is representedin the Inglehart- Welzel cultural map. We are currently living in an important tipping point to soon go into the fourth epoch of Folkets hus, the post-pandemic version Folkets hus.

Syftet med detta projekt är att sätta samhället i fokus. Att skapa en hybridbyggnad där olika aktiviteter kan ske under samma tak var kärnan i tesen. Att kombinera omgivningens behov och potential resulterade i en oväntad men till synes fungerande mix. Detta livliga offentliga centrum fungerar som ett knutpunkt för flera aktiviteter och erbjuder ett brett utbud av bekvämligheter och faciliteter för att möta behoven i grannskapet såväl som förbipasserande. En mjölkvarn, restauranger, kontor, utomhusytor och mötesrum ingår i centrum, vilket skapar en levande och välkomnande miljö för en rad aktiviteter och interaktioner. Denna byggnad representerar behovet och potentialen. Att sätta Lidatorp på kartan och göra det till ett nav mellan Nynäshamn och Ösmo. Att ge Lidatorpsborna en offentlig plats. Att göra det lönsamt och utnyttja den potential som omgivningen ger, använd åkern och gör en mjölkvarn med stödjande faciliteter som restaurang och matlagningskurser. / The purpose of this project is to put the community in focus. Creating a hybrid building where different activities can take place under one roof was the core of the thesis. Combining the needs and the potential of the surroundings resulted in an unexpected yet seemingly working mix. This lively public center serves as a multipurpose hub and provides a wide array of amenities and facilities to meet the needs of the neighborhood as well as the bypassers. A flour mill, restaurants, offices, outdoor areas, and meeting rooms are all included in the center, which creates a vibrant and welcoming environment for a range of activities and interactions. This building represents the need and the potential. To put Lidatorp on the map, making it a hub in between Nynäshamn and Ösmo. To give the people of Lidatorp a public place. To make it profitable and use the potential the surroundings give, use the field and make a flour mill with supporting facilities like a restaurant and cooking classes.

A building designed to make a minimal impact on the site it occupies by way of external wooden load carrying frames that minimize the building's footprint. Aviarium is a center for "nature therapy" where visitors can engage with nature and the surrounding wetlands and bird life.

I det lilla samhället Ösmo utanför Nynäshamn centrerar de flesta av aktiviteterna och rörelsen runt pendeltågsstationen samt Ösmo centrum. I centrum finns idag endast en liten ICA Supermarket, ett apotek, en lokal butik vid namn priskrossaren, en pizzeria samt en simhall. Allting är ordnat runt en parkeringsplats där många pendlare parkerar sina bilar för att ta sig vidare mot Stockholm. Området mellan pendeltågsstationen och centrum består idag av ett L-format flerbostadshus samt Capio vårdcentral och rehab. Mellan de två byggnaderna finns ännu en parkeringsplats men endast för boende och arbetande i fastigheterna. Dessutom har det visat sig efter undersökningar att i det i flerbostadshuset bredvid finns en befintlig samlingslokal som ej är i bruk. Platsen tycks vara ypperlig för att förkorta det mentala avståndet mellan de två noderna i tätorten. Den ligger dess utom mellan den centrala Nyblevägen som leder in till centrum där de allra flesta med bil passerar och en mindre områdesgata där gående till och från stationen rör sig mot centrum. Utöver de kommersiella butikerna i centrum saknar Ösmo en plats dit barn, unga och äldre kan gå under dagarna. En fri plats som kan fungera som ny mötesplats och kulturell verksamhet under hela dagen. / Ösmo is a small community in Nynäshamn. Most of the activity in the community circulates around the train station and Ösmo center. Today Ösmo center only contains a small supermarket, a pharmacy, a local dollarstore, one pizzeria and an indoor swimming pool. Everything is located around a parking lot where many commuters park their cars to continue with the train towards Stockholm. The space between Ösmo center and the train station today only holds one apartment building and one health centre. Other than the two buildings there is a private parking lot. After further research it has been found that the apartment building already contains a theatre which is currently not in use. The site seems perfect to shorten the mental distance between Ösmo center and the train station. It's also located between the main road Nyblevägen and the smaller road Birkavägen where most pedestrians walk towards the center or the station. Except from the commercial stores, Ösmo is missing a place where children, youth and elderly can hang out during daytime. A free place that can work as a meeting point and for cultural activities all day.

The plot is situated south of the small village Alberga in the south west of the municipality of Eskilstuna. The project is an example of how a landscape can be made accessible for people and through emotional conection be considered worth protecting, and at the same time offer a house for community. This is done with a House for the People - Folkets hus - together with a small spa inspired public bath with a fireplace in is center, and a research facility for conducting limnological and ecological research in the close marshy area and the lake Hjälmaren. The building is situated on top of three man made ponds, one new for the project, held upp by low pillars giving the house a floating impression. The architecture consists of a timber structure suported by rammed earth walls, the earth taken from the site when constructiong af a new pond. The three different usages of the program is separated into its own body and connecting them is a series of walkways, in some places suspended from the timber rafters. The project should... - Bring the community together in a flexible meeting place for many different activities- Preserv and strengthen a landscape´s ecology - Put a small village on the map and build a larger net of interconnectedness / Tomten ligger söder om den lilla byn Alberga i sydvästra Eskilstuna kommun. Projektet är ett exempel på hur ett landskap kan göras tillgängligt för människor och genom känslomässig koppling anses värt att skydda, och samtidigt erbjuda ett hus för gemenskap. Detta görs med en hybridbyggnad av ett Folkets hus tillsammans med ett litet spa-inspirerat bad med öppen spis i centrum samt en forskningsanläggning för att bedriva limnologisk och ekologisk forskning i det närliggande våtmarksmrådet och sjön Hjälmaren. Byggnaden ligger ovanpå tre konstgjorda dammar, en ny för projektet, hållna uppe av låga pelare som ger huset ett flytande uttryck. Arkitekturen består av en limträkonstruktion som bärs upp av stampade jordväggar, jorden hämtad från platsen vid anläggandet av en ny damm. De tre olika användningsområdena för programmet är uppdelade i varsin kropp och är sammankopplande med bryggor.Projektet ska... – Föra samman boende i takten genom samlingslokaler för flera olika aktiviteter - Ta till vara på ett unikt landskap samt att stärka dess ställning och ekologi – Gynna bygdens tillväxt med besöksnäring genom attraktivt besöksmål
