This study aims to examine the similarities and differences between the Swedish public research  (SOU) called Friluftsbad, simhallar, bastur: simundervisning och simlärarutbildning and the discussion in several board protocols and their effects on the local public bath in Halmstad. Halmstad is a small city located in south west Sweden, research on a national level has been done, but not on local. An additional aim is to investigate the recreation- and health discourse on a local level. The tool for the analys is the theory named Agent-and structure method.  The conclusion of this study is that the public bath in Halmstad has many similarities with former research by SOU. For example there is a connection between the choice of location, and the length of the building. However, this study also discover some new aspects, for example facts about people with disabilities.

<p>Mellan år 1845-1930 utvandrade ca 1,3 miljoner svenskar. Hallands län tillhörde de län som förlorade flest invånare till följd av emigrationen. Halmstad var länets enda industrialiserade ort, tillika länets residensstad.</p><p>Den svenska massemigrationen förknippas i hög grad med Nordamerika, men emigrationen från Halmstad gick även i stor omfattning till vårt grannland Danmark och, i någon mån till Tyskland.</p><p>Syftet med denna studie är att studera kvinnornas utrikes migration, med utgångspunkt i Halmstad, för att se vilka kvinnor som migrerade, vart de migrerade, i vilket sällskap de migrerade, och i vilken utsträckning de migrerade. Resultaten kompareras även med manlig utrikes migration. Materialet som används är till största del primärmaterial från Halmstads församlings in och utflyttningslängder.</p><p>Studier av Halmstads kyrkoböckers in- och utflyttningslängder har bland annat visat, att man i hög grad emigrerade till Danmark och Amerika, men inte till Tyskland, och att det främst var ensamstående unga kvinnor ur det sociala lägre skikten som migrerade. Komparationen med männens migration visade, att fler män än kvinnor remigrerade, medan de kvinnliga emigranterna var i majoritet. Skillnader mellan männens och kvinnornas destinationer och destinationsändringar över tid förekom, liksom deras delvis olika pull och push-faktorer.</p>

Uppsatsen handlar om historiebruket vid Halmstads 700-årsjubileum 2007. Syftet med uppsatsen äratt öka medvetenheten kring hur man använder historia och att ta reda på vilken historia som förmedlades till Halmstadsborna under 700-årsjubileet och vilket historiebruk det speglar. Materialet som ligger till grund för undersökningen är den officiella jubileumsboken Epoker och händelser i Halmstad (2006) och maj- och junimånad ur två lokala tidningar, Hallandsposten och Hallands Nyheter. En kvalitativ textanalys tillsammans med Klas-Göran Karlsson typologi om historiebruk med Ulf Zanders tillägg har använts för att analysera källmaterialet. Undersökningen visar att det var främst Halmstads tidiga historia fram till 1600-talet som förmedlades och att det existentiella historiebruket var det dominerande historiebruket.

I denna uppsats analyserar jag de beslutande organ som fanns i Nyhems municipalsamhälle och hur dessa organ har arbetat i ett inledande skede av municipalsamhället. Fokus ligger på hälsovårdsnämnden sett utifrån de nationella hälsovårdsstadgar som fanns i Sverige under den verksamma tiden 1909-1911. Syftet med uppsatsen är att komplettera den forskning som finns om municipalsamhällen genom att granska protokoll och se vilka frågor som var intressanta i Nyhems municipalsamhälle under dess första verksamma år. Beslut som har tagits i de olika beslutande organen samt vilka som har varit viktiga aktörer i nämnda beslutsprocesser är sådant som är intressant för undersökningen. Slutsatsen blir att hälsovårdsnämnden bryter mot många av de stadgar som är skrivna och att det berodde på organisatoriska och ekonomiska problem samt att styrningen inom samhället har varit bristfällig.

Ligger makten hos politiker eller förvaltningen? Studien handlar om makt i policyprocessen och just ett specifikt fall av detta, Halmstad Kommuns kommande bostadspolitik. Halmstad är en kommun som präglas av en snabbt ökande befolkning och en växande segregation vilket gör det till ett intressant fall att studera. Även just bostadspolitik är omdiskuterat och intressant vilket gör även detta till ett bra område att specificera studien till. Studien undersöker maktförhållande i två analyser, en som baseras på intervjuer med representanter från förvaltningen och en som studerar Handlingsprogrammet för bostadsförsörjning vilket blev resultatet av policyprocessen kring Halmstad kommuns planerade bostadspolitik.

The aim of this study was to analyze the common work against prostitution by The Police Authority in Halmstad Municipality. The study is called “If you buy sex in Halmstad, then you can count on getting caught” - Police authorities in Halmstad municipality´s work against prostitution. An in-depth study of the aim is implemented through police conversations and interrogations with foreign prostitutes. The three formulated questions are as follows: 1) What are the Police Authority’s views of the extent of prostitution? 2) How does the Police Authority work against prostitution? 3) How does the police converse and interrogate foreign prostituted women? The theoretical framework of the study is composed by Talcott Parsons structural functionalism AGIL model with the ability to detect problems within organizations goal attainments. Michel Foucault's theory of power that consists of productive power, power of resistance and governmentality has been used in the study to analyze the police’s interrogation. An intersectional perspective has clarified the importance of gender in police interrogations. The empirical data contains eight police participants with different assignments. An hermeneutic method with qualitative research has contributed to the empirical data. The result of the study show that The Police Authority in Halmstad fulfill the goal attainment by finding prostitution and prosecute sex buyers. The police experience that converse with foreign prostituted women are problematic and difficult because of the women's routine behavior in interrogations. It induces difficulties in further investigation against Prostitution and Trafficking.
