Vindarnas Boning : En studie av monumentalistiskt historiebruk

Aronsson, Tobias January 2007 (has links)
Monuments are raised all over the world of several different reasons. A monument dosen´t only refer just to itself, it also tells something about the historical context they are risen into. The overall purpose of this study is to try to reveal how history is used through the process, and rising of the monument "Vindarnas Boning" in Karlstad, Sweden 16/6, 1967. The historical narrative around this monument is about to show the importance of the esthetics, the main forces around the monument and last, how the monument legitimacy is maintained. Throughout those analytic tools, according to this study, I will try to examine possible other reasons behind this monument than the official one, who is to act as a remembrance of the finnish immigrants who settled in the unpopulated deep forests of Sweden and enabled to maintain a minor community separated from other influences, during the 16 th century and onward. The 1960´s is characterized by the large working movements between Sweden and Finland. Also the Finnish authorities launches an economical campaign in Sweden to broaden their export possibilities. This campaign is about to show the new modern Finland, with increasing own independence from Soviet influences. Referred to this, the study shows how other groups in the society possible uses history for their own purposes, the cultural ties between Sweden and Finland are strengthen through this monument, wich gains advantages in other areas as well. Referred to the economics and the thoughts of a Nordic cooperation, which some elements wishes to broaden. Through the historical narrative this study reveals actors who has strong ties to these goals. Because of this, there might be a reason to ask if the official remembrance is the only factor that is linked to this monument. This study connects the use of history through monuments with ideological reasons. This perhaps, can be a perspective to have in mind, when visiting the monument "Vindarnas Boning" next time, or other monuments as well.

Gullin, Camilla January 2013 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to analyze different aspects of a portraying of individuals from a time past. It is concentrated around questions about why it is important to show the people’s stories in, for example, exhibitions and under which conditions this would serve as a good use of history according to different theories about history and the portraying of it. I have chosen the theories of Freidrich Nietzsche and Georg Simmel as a tool to analyze different aspects of the portraying of people from the past. Nietzsche’s theory about the different ways in which we use the past and Simmels theory about the meeting between a viewer and a cultural experience. In this study I have used a case-study as an example of the stories that can be found in different archives and used in exhibitions. My study is called The case of Anna and is about Anna, who lived in the Swedish village of Bankekind in the 1820’s. My conclusions after analyzing my case-study and the differences theories about the portraying of the past is that a portraying of the “ordinary” people and their stories can be interesting and relevant for those who see it. They can provide a new view of a historical event and interest us thorough different themes that people of today have in common with people, like Anna, from the past.

Bagewitz, Maria, Einarsson, Mimmi January 2012 (has links)

Berg, John January 2012 (has links)

Fornstora dagar och framtidens risker : Historiemedvetande och historiebruk kopplat till Sverigedemokraternas principprogram från 2005 och 2011 / Glorious past and future risks : History consciousness and history use found in the policy programs for Sverigedemokraterna from 2005 and 2011

Johansson, Mattias January 2012 (has links)
The subject for this thesis is to analyze the Swedish political the Sweden Democrats (Sverigedemokraterna) through the use of history theories. The purpose is to examine the following two questions: 1. what types of history consciousness is present in the source material 2. the use of history (historiebruk) shown in the source material The source material has consisted two official party publications, Sverigedemokraternas principprogram from 2005 and 2011. The main theoretical frameworks for the analysis has consisted of the typology for use of history as presented by professor Klas-Göran Karlsson together with selected theories connected to history consciousness, not the least the model presented by Bernard Eric Jensen. The result of the analysis shows frequent examples where the use of history and history consciousness is present in the rhetoric used in the source material. By tracing the use back to the theories selected Sverigedemokraterna’s deployment of use of history and history consciousness is interpreted and discussed.

Hur används historia? : en historiebruksanalys av gymnasiets läroplan i historia 1970-2011 / The Use of History? : Analyzis of the Use of History Based on the Upper Secondary School´s Curricula in History 1970-2011

Stegby Simander, Hanna January 2012 (has links)
A new curriculum, entailing news for teachers as well as students, was implemented in 2011. Among other things History has been given a more prominent position in that every student will now study the subject. Can this decision lead to history being used more in the future? The aim of this thesis is to study the new curriculum, Gy11, as well the Lpf94 and Lgy70, based on Klas-Göran Karlsson´s typology where the use of history is divided into seven different categories. I will analyze the curricula, looking at what different uses of history that can be discerned as well as what changes have been made over time. Furthermore I will deal with the uses of history being the most and least prominent ones in the respective curricula. Most practices but not everyone can be seen. Over time some practices have an even distribution while others have an increased representation. The practice being the most frequent one is the scholarly while the ones being the least prominent are the ideological and the commercial. Conclusively it can be said that the curricula have over time rendered a possibility to an increased use of history.

100 år på havets botten : En jämförande tidningsstudie om minnet av Titanickatastrofen 1912 / 100 years at the bottom of the sea : A comparative study of the remembrance of the Titanic disaster 1912

Petersson, Emmy January 2014 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to see how the centenary of the Titanic disaster is observed in the cities Belfast, Southampton and Halifax. It also contains a Swedish perspective to the event. There is a part of the thesis which is focused on an analysis of what memorials and memories mean to the disaster and the survival of the very same. The main sources of the thesis have mostly been internet editions of newspapers from the cities mentioned above, but also the paper editions of two of the biggest Swedish newspapers. An analysis of these sources shows that the memory of the Titanic, and foremost its passengers and crew is still alive. The perished were honoured at the commemorations through denudations of new memorials and descendants who paid their respects. The analysis also shows that the memory of the Titanic and the identity it created are important elements, primarily in Southampton and Belfast. These two cities embrace their Titanic heritage by exhibitions, both permanent and temporary ones. The conclusion of the analysis is that the memories of the Titanic are observed in different ways depending of which city it is. Belfast is a lot about remembering the construction; Southampton remembers the departure and Halifax focus on the perished, although, all three cities honour the catastrophe and the victims. No matter how the centenary is respected, one can easily notice that the Titanic is remembered; the question now is if the ship of dreams is immortal or if the disaster one day will fade to oblivion?

Grankvist, Johannes, Bjälkefors, Mikael January 2009 (has links)
