Det dyrbara oavlönade arbetet : En kvantitativ studie om personlighetsdrag och prosociala tendenser inom ideellt arbete / The Valuable Unwaged Work : A Quantitative Study of Personality Traits and Prosocial Tendencies in Volunteer Work

Bergman, Edith, Iker, Danielle January 2021 (has links)

Zeru, Berhane, Hamdi, Ahmed January 2021 (has links)
The purpose of the survey is to investigate article placements at the logistics companythat are unproductively located. Unproductive places of A-classing articles have had anegative effect on picking frequency, which has contributed to the lead time to retrieveone A-article taking longer than retrieving another A-article with lower turnover. The purpose of the survey is to identify the negative aspects that affect the pickingfrequency in order to provide the logistics company with information about the aspectsthat indicate improvement. The method survey was created by collecting data throughboth primary and secondary data. Structured observation and questioning were part of a semi-structured interview andvarious scientific articles related to the subject area as well as literature search were partof secondary data. The investigation has resulted in the current reasons behind theconnection between article placement and picking time having been negatively affectedby the logistics company. Furthermore, research has come to a result where the logistics company loses manyproduction hours around the cause that need to implement new measures for improvementand development. The conclusion of the survey reports that the logistics company shouldaddress the negative aspects that affect item placement and picking time. • Minimize waste by shortening the walking distance. • Rearrange the items. • Skills development within Lean and 5S to work smarter. • Maintain order by identifying items that need to be repositioned and suppliers. • Exercise more parameters (sales, withdrawals and picking frequency). • Streamline inventory managementsystems (inbound and outbound deliveries, picks, warehouse locations). The work was limited to part of article optimization in logistics and placement of Aclassified articles and the impact on the picking frequency. During the study, COVID-19 has been an obstacle that limited the study's authors to stay longer with the logisticscompany.

Popis provozu lékárny Helios pomocí statistických metod / Statistical Methods for Descriptions of Running Pharmacy Helios

Šimková, Marcela January 2013 (has links)
Master thesis is dealing with the application of particular statistical methods for a description of pharmacy Helios operation. The attention is primarily focused on stock management within the scope of independent demand model, where the related performance indicators of weekly revenues, daily revenues and expenditures per customer are subsequently exposed to thorough analysis. In addition, one of the main goals of this thesis can be identified as the intention to create an application for continuous monitoring of available stock, where their depletion below the specified level would be reported. This thesis should also provide a certain guidelines how the aforementioned application could be integrated within the existing information system in order to automate the process of orders processing.

Detekce střihů a vyhledávání známých scén ve videu s pomocí metod hlubokého učení / Detekce střihů a vyhledávání známých scén ve videu s pomocí metod hlubokého učení

Souček, Tomáš January 2020 (has links)
Video retrieval represents a challenging problem with many caveats and sub-problems. This thesis focuses on two of these sub-problems, namely shot transition detection and text-based search. In the case of shot detection, many solutions have been proposed over the last decades. Recently, deep learning-based approaches improved the accuracy of shot transition detection using 3D convolutional architectures and artificially created training data, but one hundred percent accuracy is still an unreachable ideal. In this thesis we present a deep network for shot transition detection TransNet V2 that reaches state-of- the-art performance on respected benchmarks. In the second case of text-based search, deep learning models projecting textual query and video frames into a joint space proved to be effective for text-based video retrieval. We investigate these query representation learning models in a setting of known-item search and propose improvements for the text encoding part of the model. 1

A Comparison of Traditional Norming and Rasch Quick Norming Methods

Bush, Joan Spooner 08 1900 (has links)
The simplicity and ease of use of the Rasch procedure is a decided advantage. The test user needs only two numbers: the frequency of persons who answered each item correctly and the Rasch-calibrated item difficulty, usually a part of an existing item bank. Norms can be computed quickly for any specific group of interest. In addition, once the selected items from the calibrated bank are normed, any test, built from the item bank, is automatically norm-referenced. Thus, it was concluded that the Rasch quick norm procedure is a meaningful alternative to traditional classical true score norming for test users who desire normative data.

Comparing Fountas and Pinnell's Reading Levels to Reading Scores on the Criterion Referenced Competency Test

Walker, Shunda F. 01 January 2016 (has links)
Reading competency is related to individuals' success at school and in their careers. Students who experience significant problems with reading may be at risk of long-term academic and social problems. High-quality measures that determine student progress toward curricular goals are needed for early identification and interventions to improve reading abilities and ultimately prevent subsequent failure in reading. The purpose of this quantitative nonexperimental ex post facto research study was to determine whether a correlation existed amongst student achievement scores on the Fountas and Pinnell Reading Benchmark Assessment and reading comprehension scores on the Criterion Reference Competency Test (CRCT). The item response theory served as the conceptual framework for examining whether a relationship exists between Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark Instructional Reading Levels and the reading comprehension scores on the CRCT of students in Grades 3, 4, and 5 in the year 2013-2014. Archival data for 329 students in Grades 3-5 were collected and analyzed through Spearman's rank-order correlation. The results showed positive relationships between the scores. The findings promote positive social change by supporting the use of benchmark assessment data to identify at-risk reading students early.

The South African personality inventory : a psychometric evaluation of the Afrikaans version

Rautenbach, Amanda Cornelia January 2019 (has links)
Orientation: South Africa’s cultural and linguistic diversity requires special measures to ensure that the assessments used in employment settings are scrupulously fair. To this end, Section 8 of The Employment Equity Act requires that psychometric tests are scientifically proved to be valid and reliable and not to discriminate unfairly against any individual or group. The South African Personality Inventory (SAPI) sets out to meet these criteria by incorporating culture-specific elements and by providing versions in each of South Africa’s 11 official languages. o Research purpose: The key determination of this study was to investigate the psychometric properties of the Afrikaans version of the South African Personality Inventory (SAPI). The aforementioned properties include item analysis, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), reliability analysis, product-moment correlation and multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA). o Motivation for the study: To contribute to the fair, valid and reliable use of the SAPI questionnaire in all language versions of the instrument by examining the psychometric properties of the Afrikaans version and comparing it with the validated English version. Once this has been done for each of the 11 official South African languages versions, a culturally neutral instrument will be available for the full diversity of employment settings in South Africa. o Research design, approach and method: This study used a quantitative cross-sectional research design with an emic approach, objectivist ontology and a post-positivist research paradigm. Primary data was collected by administering the Afrikaans version of the SAPI questionnaire to a non-probability sample of 201 purposively selected white Afrikaans-speaking South Africans who are economically and non-economically active and have a minimum qualification of Grade 12. An online Afrikaans version of the SAPI along with a biographical questionnaire was used to collect data. Item analysis was investigated by means of a descriptive statistical analysis. An initial principle component analysis followed with exploratory factor analysis was performed to determine the instrument’s factor structure. A reliability analysis was conducted in order to measure the internal consistency of the instrument. Product-moment correlations explored the relationships between variables. Further analysis was done to detect the relationships of the variables and to detect differences. Main findings: The White Afrikaners attach immense importance to the social-relational factors. From the six factors, only three factors were extracted, namely the Social-relational Positive, combined Social-relational Negative/Conscientiousness, and Intellect/Openness factors. These factors showed adequate validity and reliability. The item functionality needs to be re-evaluated in order to measure all the six factors of the SAPI and different analytical techniques should be applied. The relationships between the remaining three factors were sufficient, and only age differences were detected in the experience of Social Relational Negative/Conscientiousness o Practical/managerial implications: The results of this study provide a firm foundation for the further investigation of the validity of the Afrikaans version of the questionnaire. Furthermore, insight is given to researchers and practitioners on the need to develop, adapt or translate psychometric instruments, especially for use in an environment which is multicultural and multilingual. o Contribution/value-add: This study contributes to cultural-specific research on the assessment of personality in South Africa. Its thorough investigation and attempt to validate the Afrikaans version of the SAPI is supported by an extensive body of literature relevant to standardizing the SAPI. Practitioners and organisations will now be able to administer a culturally informed personality assessment where the home language of the employees is Afrikaans. / Dissertation (MCom)--University of Pretoria, 2019. / Human Resource Management / MCom / Unrestricted

Instruments Bias in Assessment Centers

Cunningham, Howard Michael 08 1900 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of behavioral checklist critical item content on subsequent global, Likert-type ratings. It was hypothesized that assessment center participants rated with positive critical items would receive higher scores on subsequent global ratings than would participants rated with negative critical items. Additionally, it was hypothesized that volunteers would receive better ratings than nonvolunteers. Finally, it was hypothesized that behavioral ratings would show less susceptibility to halo effect than global ratings.
