Návrh koncepce IS/ICT pro Junák ČR / Information strategy draft for Junák CZ

Pelcl, Ladislav January 2008 (has links)
The main goal of the diploma thesis is creating a draft of an information strategy for Junák -- Association Scouts and Guides CZ. The organization is a Czech NGO, focused on education of children and young people. For both these main activities and also administrative, economical and other areas, it uses IS/ICT resources. Mainly due to a lack of coordination in their past development, in many fields these don't allow the organization to work efficiently and use the current potential of IS/ICT. This leads to diminishing of the organization's competitiveness. The thesis tries to bring such a strategy, that the organization could use even in the case it needs to be modified accordingly to its priorities. The thesis tries to reach the creation of the draft through a number of steps. Following the brief description of the organization, the thesis introduces basic terms and attitudes towards the IS/ICT governance. In order to identify both weaknesses and future potential, it thoroughly describes and analyzes the current IS/ICT projects currently in use in the organization. With partial use of the "potential of improvement" method, it states reasonable degree of efficiency improvement in various key activities. Great amount of focus is being spent on proposals of new projects, that could lead the organization to efficiency or raising its competitiveness through making the most of current trends in IS/ICT. Major projects are put together out of the proposals as well as the method of their evaluation in relation to the strategic priorities of the organization. Finally, the information strategy is defined. Author's main contribution is in his capability to point out new solutions which could help to improve non-optimal processes in a way, that makes use of current potential of IS/ICT. Using his experience from both the organization itself and the IS/ICT field, he tries to create modern, tailor-made information strategy.

Les déterminants de l'adoption de la traçabilité par les entreprises de conditionnement de dattes en Tunisie / The determiners of the adoption of traceability by the companies of date conditioning in Tunisia

Karaa, Meriam 02 July 2010 (has links)
The traceability is considered as an answer to the state of uncertainty due mainly to the foodcrises of the end of the XXth century. With the application of the European regulationsn°178/2002 on January 1st, 2005, all the actors of the food chain must be mobilized to bring the maximum of guarantee and insurance to the final consumers, in terms of quality and safety. In the case of the Tunisian date sector, the traceability - as an approach of strategic management- appears like a managerial innovation which always comes within the phase of adoption. Our research comes within the scope of this framework. The aim of this research is to identify the determiners of the adoption of an approach of traceability with the example of the companies of date conditioning in Tunisia. So we present a modelling by suggesting associating the theory of the stakeholders to the theory of diffusion and adoption of the innovation. We discuss three generic propositions of research put forward by basing on a qualitative analysis with conditioning date companies considered as "pioneers" in tunisian traceability. The results of this research end up in the elaboration of a set of determiners of the adoption of the traceability with in the conditioning date companies’ link in Tunisia. It represents the characteristics of the traceability, the characteristics of the organization and, the characteristics of the environment such as specified in our model, to which it is advisable to add the fourth element stemming from the analysis of the interviews and which concerns the transversal factors.

Work-Related Information & Communication Technology Use and Occupational Burnout: The Mediating Role of Recovery Experiences

Khawaled, Adam January 2018 (has links)
Technology has changed the relationship between work and life and allowed work to engage in our home lives. It is no longer the case that when the working day is over people switch off, rather it is when people go home and remain connected. In a culture where people are always connected via information and communication technology (ICT) the line between work and life has blurred. The present study investigated the relationship between ICT and occupational burnout with the mediating role of recovery experiences and their importance in the relationship. The study was conducted in Southern Sweden in Växjö.The study included 101 participants both male (N=53) and female (N=48) from public and private sectors where participants used ICT on a regular basis to perform job-related tasks. Data was collected using a self-reported web-based questionnaire. Results of the study revealed that there is no significant correlation between ICT and occupational burnout. However, it was found that there is a significant negative correlation between ICT and recovery experiences and a strong significant negative correlation between ICT and recovery experiences and occupational burnout. It was concluded that occupational burnout results from insufficient recovery from work-related stressors and not the stress itself. Keywords: work-related ICT, occupational burnout, recovery experiences, employee psychological well-being

The Internet and Ethnic Riots

January 2020 (has links)
abstract: In this dissertation i argue that the internet has a positive impact on the likelihood of ethnic riots. To make this argument I put forward three major claims. First, ethnic riots are best understood as performances that aim to clarify ambiguities in the social order. Second, communication technologies structurally constrain the flow of information passing through them. Third, the internet is unique among modern Information Communication Technologies in its capacity for inducing ethnic riots. I provide two types of empirical evidence to support these claims: a cross-national analysis of internet penetration and a case study of India. The former provides evidence for the central claim, finding that the internet has a positive effect on the likelihood of ethnic conflict after a threshold of internet penetration is met. The latter sketches the limits of the proposed theory, finding that internet penetration decreased the likelihood of ethnic riots in India. I argue this is a result of welfare contextualization of the internet. / Dissertation/Thesis / Doctoral Dissertation Political Science 2020
