Monteiro, Ciro Athayde Barros January 2019 (has links)
One of these groups is made up of incarcerated young people, as most of them reach prison with serious shortages linked to family structure, basic education and literacy. Given this scenario, this study is guided by the problem of how are the informational practices of young people incarcerated at the Serra Azul Provisional Detention Center, regarding mediation and appropriation of informational devices. The objective was to investigate how are the informational practices of these young people before and after entering the Serra Azul CDP regarding the mediation and appropriation of informational devices. In addition, we sought to identify who these detainees are, to verify the reasons for their detention, to create comparative tables about changes in informational practices before and after prison, to investigate the limitations and possibilities of the prison library in relation to the prison. access and appropriation of this device, describe mediating actions in order to understand how these actions develop in the daily life of the prison, such as the readin... Percepciones de los estudiantes de Traducción e Interpretación Profesional de la Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas sobre el desarrollo de su competencia informacional / Perceptions of Translation and Interpreting students at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas on the development of their informational competence

Llano Enriquez, Gonzalo Stephano, López Maúrtua, Pablo Renato 04 December 2021 (has links)
Translational activity is closely linked to documentation. Therefore, it is necessary for the translator to develop a critical ability to identify and implement sources of information. The development of informational competence in trainee translators allows them to acquire skills for the use, identification, evaluation, and processing of information. Although informational competence is present throughout the learning process of a translator, the specialized translation courses line requires the trainee translator to reconstruct the informational behaviors and documentation strategies that they have acquired up to that moment due to the complexity of the documentation process for the translation of specialized texts. Thus, this research seeks to determine the perceptions of Translation and Interpreting students at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC) regarding the development of their informational competence at the beginning of the specialized translation line. In this case, we will focus on the Specialized Translation I workshop, which is the first course in the specialized line at UPC, as it will allow us to determine the students’ perceptions concerning the change that constitutes the documentation processes in specialized translation courses in contrast to the rest of the translation workshops carried out throughout the degree. For the development of this research, we will use the interview technique, since it will allow us to investigate the experiences and opinions of the students during this workshop. / Trabajo de investigación

Qualitative Case Study of Read-Aloud Expository Text Strategies in Kindergarten Through Grade 2

Adeyemo, Mary 01 January 2015 (has links)
In an inner-city elementary school, students continue to lag in reading proficiency, and implementation of research-based, district-mandated teaching strategies is not well understood. The purpose of this case study was to explore teachers' perceptions of mandated, read-aloud expository text strategies in K-2 classrooms. The conceptual framework was Vygotsky's social constructivism model of learning, which envisions students learning by interacting with teachers and peers, in this case, using read-aloud strategies, until they become autonomous, expository readers. The research questions focused on benefits and challenges of the implementation of read-aloud expository text by K-2 teachers who were given a 5-year mandate by the school to use strategies of scaffolding, graphic organizers, think-alouds, and text talk. Data were gathered from 5 teachers who volunteered to participate and were trained in the strategies. Data collection included individual interviews, collaborating interviews, reflective journals, and field notes. Open coding and thematic analysis identified 6 themes of teacher perceptions, including benefits, situational strategies, and explanations for use, challenges, support, and implementation. Throughout the data collection process, teachers suggested the use of Text Talk Kit materials. These kits, in use by other districts, may be beneficial to all teachers and may lead to social change by allowing teachers to access materials to better instruct all struggling readers, a benefit across all curricular areas and for all students.

Teachers are responsible for creating opportunities for students to develop abilities relating to technology. How does IFRS 15 influence Swedish auditors and financial analysts’ understanding of companies’ revenue transactions?

Svensson, Marcus, Hagos, Amanda January 2021 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to explore how IFRS 15 have influenced Swedish auditors and financial analysts’ understanding of companies’ revenue transactions. How accounting structural changes under IFRS 15 contribute to potential informational effects remains a largely unexplored topic. By applying asymmetric information theory, behavioral decision theory and the concept of uniformity versus uniqueness, this study explores potential factors that influence information intermediaries’ understandability of companies’ revenue transactions. This study uses an explorative approach consisting of 8 semi-structured interviews with Swedish auditors and financial analysts working in the telecommunication and construction industry. From a practical point of view, this study may assist the IASB and other regulators in obtaining a better understanding of information intermediaries’ ability to appropriately interpret and use financial information under IFRS 15. From a theoretical standpoint, the findings can provide areas of potential future studies in the field of accounting information research. Although the implementation of IFRS 15 has a limited quantitative accounting effect, this study finds that the implementation contributes to informational effects on financial analysts and auditors’ information environment. The findings indicate that the perceived informational effects are dependent on entities' application of the standard; intermediaries’ accounting knowledge and experience; as well as companies' transparency and manipulating incentives.

MAINTAINING MAINTENANCE : The Importance of Evaluation and Upkeep in Maintenance Management Models

Berglin, Sebastian, Wennberg, Albin January 2022 (has links)
This thesis explores the consequences of neglect and lack of proper support and implementation in maintenance management models, specifically an old implementation of the Pm3 model. The area of study is not widely explored, with studies and evaluation of the specific model we have looked at being almost non-existent. We have conducted a qualitative case study at an IT department/company at a Swedish university and the data has been collected through interviews with different IT department leaders, as well as one interview with a representative with the company that owns and distributes the Pm3 model. The current software development methodology at the IT company studied in this thesis are agile methods but is locked down to a micro level, while the Pm3 model handles the macro level. The consequences of this are then compared against research within fields such as IT governance and IT/business alignment to find discrepancies from which the phenomena’s can be explained. With this thesis we want to explore the consequences of not maintaining maintenance management models in organizations, especially the Pm3 model as this is widely in Swedish institutions such as universities and government authorities. This thesis provides a word of caution and argue for the importance of maintenance in maintenance management models for such organizations.

[pt] MEU CORPO (ELETRÔNICO), MINHAS REGRAS: A DESTINAÇÃO POST MORTEM DE PERFIS DE REDES SOCIAIS / [en] MY (ELECTRONIC) BODY, MY RULES: THE POST MORTEM DESTINATION OF SOCIAL NETWORK PROFILES

ANA CAROLINE DOS SANTOS ACCIOLI 11 July 2023 (has links)
[en] The purpose of this paper is to bring the necessary reflection on the legal discipline appropriate to the causa mortis transmission of social network profiles, considering that the Brazilian legal system still does not have a specific regulation on the subject and the current discipline of Book V of the Civil Code is insufficient, if not inadequate, to regulate and protect these new succession situations. From the methodological perspective of civil-constitutional law and based on a critical analysis of the legal literature, foreign legislations and jurisprudences, and bills involving the theme of digital inheritance, the dissertation proposes that social network profiles should follow the destiny that was expressly indicated to them by the user during his lifetime in the exercise of their right to informative self-determination and existential private autonomy, either through the tools made available by the platforms, or through the classic mechanisms of succession planning, warning that such manifestation of last will finds limits in the protection conferred to the fundamental rights of third parties with whom the deceased has dialogued on his social networks and other relevant interests that are legally protected.
