Metodologia para implantação de tecnologias construtivas racionalizadas na produção de edifícios. / A model to introduce innovative technologies into the building construction.

O trabalho propõe uma Metodologia para implantação de tecnologias construtivas racionalizadas na produção de edifícios pelo processo construtivo tradicional, objetivando a evolução tecnológica do processo de produção. Inicialmente, os conceitos relacionados ao desenvolvimento e a implantação de tecnologias construtivas racionalizadas são apresentados e discutidos. Na seqüência, discutem-se as estratégias que as empresas tem utilizado para atuarem num mercado altamente competitivo. E, completando os fundamentos do trabalho, apresentam-se e analisam-se os modelos para implantação de inovações tecnológicas na indústria seriada e da construção civil. A partir desse quadro referencial, propõe-se uma metodologia para implantação de tecnologias construtivas racionalizadas, fundamentada em um conjunto de diretrizes balizadoras e numa estratégia de ação. As diretrizes contemplam a organização da empresa, o processo de projeto, a documentação, os recursos humanos e o controle do processo de produção; enquanto a estratégia de ação contém uma sugestão de como conduzir o processo de implantação no interior da organização. Finalmente, realiza-se uma análise das ações de empresas de construção ao introduzirem mudanças tecnológicas na construção de edifícios, concluindo-se pela importância de se empregar uma adequada metodologia para a condução do processo de implantação de Tecnologias Construtivas Racionalizadas. / This thesis proposes a model to introduce innovative Technologies into the traditional building construction with the purpose of achieving the continuous improvement in building construction. Firstly, the main concepts related to development and introduction of innovative technologies are presented and discussed. Then, the building construction companies organization and the majors strategies to increase their effectiveness are presented and analysed. The work discusses available models used for introducing innovation processes in the manufacturing and the construction industries in order to identify the barriers and key factors to introduce the innovative technologies. Based on this framework, it is proposed a model including guidelines related to companies organization, design process, process of documentation, human resources development and the control of production process. Finally, the companies actions about the introduction of innovative technologies are analysed. This shows that the correct development and use of a capable formal approach does help introducing innovative technologies into the building construction.

Este estudo teve como principal objetivo a investigação dos elementos potencializadores de práticas pedagógicas inovadoras com o uso das Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação (TIC) no que tange à gestão de escolas. O caso de gestão estudado discutiu os elementos promotores de práticas pedagógicas inovadoras com o uso das TIC em uma escola do interior do estado de Minas Gerais. Para tanto, mapeou-se e identificou-se, dentre 08 (oito) escolas da regional de Janaúba-MG, qual se destacou no uso das tecnologias, buscando compreender como a instituição conseguiu mobilizar os atores a se envolverem e a se interessarem pelo seu uso. Na pesquisa, de abordagem qualitativa, foram utilizados os seguintes instrumentos para produção de dados: questionários, entrevistas semiestruturadas, além de análise de documentos em sites oficiais do Ministério da Educação, da Secretaria de Educação do Estado de Minas Gerais e documentos escolares, bem como consulta a livros e textos de autores que tratavam do tema "uso das novas tecnologias a serviço da aprendizagem". A partir da identificação dos caminhos trilhados por essa escola na construção de suas práticas com o uso das tecnologias, foi proposto um plano de ação educacional que pode contribuir para que as demais escolas possam desenvolver e/ou potencializar práticas do uso das TIC em seus contextos. / The present dissertation was developed within the scope of the Mestrado Profissional em Gestão e Avaliação da Educação (PPGP) of the Centro de Políticas Públicas e Avaliação da Educação da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora (CAEd/UFJF). The main objective of this study was to investigate the enhancing elements of innovative pedagogical practices with the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the management of schools. The management case studied discussed the elements that promote innovative pedagogical practices with the use of ICT in a school in the interior of the state of Minas Gerais. In order to do so, eight (8) schools were identified and mapped in the region of Janaúba (MG), which one has standed out in the use of technologies, seeking understand how the institution has been able to mobilize actors to get involved and become interested in the use of these technologies. In this qualitative research, the following instruments were used to produce data: questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, besides analysis of documents on official websites of the Ministério da Educação (Ministry of Education), of the Secretaria de Educação do Estado de Minas Gerais (Secretary of Education of the state of Minas Gerais) and school documents, as well as consultation of books and texts of authors who dealt with the theme ―use of new technologies in the service of learning‖. From the identification of the paths taken by this school in the construction of its practices with the use of technologies an educational action plan was proposed which can help others schools to develop and/or enhance practices of the use of ICT in their contexts.

Estudo dos fatores de promoção, estímulo e apoio à criatividade e o desempenho inovador das indústrias da Região Sul do Brasil / Study of the factors of promotion, stimulus and support creativity and innovation performance of the south region of Brazil industries

As empresas, para oferecerem produtos novos e diferenciados, precisam gerar ideias novas com mais frequência e com agilidade para atender as expectativas mutantes de um mercado competitivo. Objetivou-se verificar quais fatores promoção, estímulo e apoio a criatividade estão presentes nas empresas, descrever o nível do desempenho inovador delas, avaliar a relação entre os diferentes fatores e constatar se o setor e o porte da empresa interferem nessa relação. A população foi constituída de 343 indústrias da Região Sul do Brasil. O instrumento de coleta de dados foi disponibilizado na tecnologia Google Drive e, conforme os procedimentos de coleta de dados, obteve-se a participação de 37 indústrias, cujas respostas foram validadas. Realizou-se análise descritiva e correlacionais com técnicas não paramétricas. Os resultados obtidos permitem as seguintes concluir quanto à intensidade de presença, os fatores de promoção mais presentes nas empresas são lideranças motivadoras dos funcionários para o trabalho e reuniões para pensar o futuro da empresa; de estimulo: relacionadas com autonomia, diversidade, comunicação interpessoal e integração interna; de apoio, locais para trabalhar com segurança; quanto ao nível do desempenho inovador, prevaleceu na amostra estudada um número maior de empresas menos inovadoras comparativamente às mais inovadoras - empresas grandes, porém de menor intensidade tecnológica em sua maioria; foi possível constatar que há relação significante de alguns dos fatores de promoção, estímulo e apoio à criatividade com o desempenho inovador. Essa relação varia, em alguns dos indicadores, conforme o porte e setor de intensidade tecnológica das empresas. Considerando as circunstâncias nas quais o estudo foi realizado e suas peculiaridades, as conclusões e as recomendações subjacentes devem ser vistas com limitações. / Companies to offer new and differentiated products, need to generate new ideas more often and with agility to meet the changing expectations of a competitive market. This study aimed to determine which the factors of promotion, stimulus and support creativity are present in companies describe their level of innovative performance, evaluate the relationship between different factors and see if the industry and company size affect this relationship. The study population consisted of 343 industries in the Southern Region of Brazil. The instrument for data collection was made available in Google Drive technology, and as the procedures for data collection, obtained the participation of 37 industries, whose responses were validated. A descriptive and correlational analysis with non-parametric techniques. The results allow the following conclusions regarding the intensity of presence, the factors promoting more companies are present in motivating leaders of employees to work and meetings to consider the future of the company; stimulus: related to autonomy, diversity, interpersonal communication and internal integration; support, places to work safely; as to the level of innovative performance, prevailed in the studied sample a greater number of less innovative firms compared to more innovative - large companies, but in lower technological intensity mostly; it was found that there is significant relationship of some factors to promote, encourage and support creativity with innovative performance. This ratio varies in some of the indicators according to the size and technological intensity of the sector companies. Considering the circumstances in which the study was conducted and its peculiarities, the conclusions and underlying recommendations should be viewed with limitations.

As redes de inovação têm sido frequentemente referenciadas na literatura como forma de complementar as atividades inovadoras das empresas, tendo em vista seu importante papel na transferência de conhecimentos. Considerando-se que, cada vez mais, a inovação pode ser fruto de um processo de interação entre diferentes atores, do que de um esforço isolado, o presente estudo teve por objetivo verificar qual a contribuição dos parceiros estabelecidos em redes de inovação para o desempenho inovador das empresas. Pretendeu-se, mais especificamente, realizar uma análise sob o ponto de vista das empresas da Indústria Elétrica Eletrônica, que, por pertencerem a um setor de tecnologia intensiva, cuja competitividade é global, são altamente dependentes da atividade inovativa. Visando ao alcance desse objetivo, realizou-se uma pesquisa descritiva e exploratória, de caráter quantitativo. Para o exame dos fundamentos teóricos, foram abordados conceitos relacionados aos tipos de inovação, às redes de inovações e suas tipologias, à transferência de conhecimento na rede, à utilização de estratégias de exploração e explotação, à capacidade de absorção do conhecimento e aos tipos de parceiros estabelecidos nas redes e suas possíveis contribuições. Complementarmente, realizou-se um levantamento por meio da aplicação de questionários, totalizando uma amostra de 185 empresas. A análise dos dados da pesquisa foi feita com base na estatística descritiva e multivariada, por meio da aplicação da modelagem de equações estruturais e da análise multivariada de variância. Dentre os principais resultados, foi observado que o estabelecimento de relações de colaboração com clientes e consumidores, competidores e universidades e institutos de pesquisa pode corroborar com os resultados em inovação de processo e organizacional. Ressalta-se também que, apesar da obtenção de alguns resultados significativos acerca da contribuição de diferentes parceiros na rede, as empresas da Indústria Elétrica Eletrônica ainda atribuem maior importância às atividades internas para inovar. Em outras palavras, apesar do alto número de relações com clientes, consumidores e fornecedores, ainda se nota uma centralização do processo de desenvolvimento das inovações. / Innovation networks have been frequently referenced in literature as a way to complement the firm\'s innovative activities, in view of its important role in knowledge transfer. Considering that, currently, innovation may be the result of a process of interaction between different actors, rather than an isolated effort, this study aims to verify the contribution of partners established in innovation networks for company\'s innovative performance. It was intended, more specifically, to perform an analysis from the point of view of Electrical and Electronic Industry firms, which, for belonging to a technology-intensive industry, are highly dependent on innovative activity. As a way of reaching this purpose, a descriptive and exploratory research was applied, based on the quantitative method. In the theoretical research, concepts related to innovation types, innovation networks and their typologies, the transfer of knowledge in the network, the use of exploration and exploitation strategies, the absorptive capacity, the types of partners established in the networks and their possible contributions have been addressed. In addition, a survey was applied to a total sample of 185 companies. The data examination was performed using descriptive and multivariate statistics, by applying the structural equation modeling and multivariate analysis of variance. As the main findings, it was observed that the establishment of collaborative relationships with clients and customers, competitors and universities and research institutes can corroborate to process and organizational innovation. It also emphasized that, despite getting some significant results concerning the contribution of different partners in the network, Electrical and Electronics Industry companies also attach more importance to internal activities to develop their innovations. In other words, despite of the high number of relationships with customers, suppliers and consumers, it still noticed a centralization of developing innovations\' processes.

Thesis aims to find out whether or not it is possible to implement Montessori principles of education into economical subjects on High schools. Parst of the Thesis are also preparations for teaching of economical subjects with Montessori principals. At the end reader can find out more information about methods, forms, content, didactic aids and didactic technique which can be used to implement Montessori principles appropriately. Author used several different experimental methods like experimental teaching, self-reflection of the practitioner, questionnaire survey in the class where experimental teaching took place and didactic test for pupils who participated in experimental teaching. As a result, implementation of Montessori principles is possible and has advantages (better atmosphere in class, better way to achieve educational goals) and disadvantages (problems with fixation).

L'objet de la thèse est l'étude de l'intégration de capacités organisationnelles pour l'innovation radicale dans les entreprises industrielles établies. Les travaux s'appuient sur l'étude longitudinale des processus de conception innovante d'un motoriste de l'aéronautique : Turbomeca. Si la littérature s'accorde à dire que la préparation de l'avenir des entreprises repose sur certains types de capacités pour l'innovation radicale, les processus d'intégration de ces capacités demeurent peu étudiés en sciences de gestion. En s'appuyant sur le champ de la conception innovante, notre recherche vise à modéliser et organiser les activités de conception pour intégrer des capacités d'innovation radicale dans une entreprise en répondant à trois questions de recherche : comment caractériser une situation d'innovation radicale ? Comment piloter et modéliser des transformations organisationnelles pour intégrer des capacités d'innovation radicale ? Quels principes organisationnels pour l'intégration de capacités d'innovation radicale de manière pérenne dans l'entreprise ? A partir d'un cadre théorique permettant l'étude des capacités d'innovation radicale relatives au Design (D), à l'Incubation (I), et à la Mutation (M) de l'écosystème, trois résultats principaux se dégagent : 1/ la généalogie des capacités d'innovation radicale de Turbomeca;2/ la notion de transition organisationnelle par la conception pour caractériser les processus d'intégration de capacités d'innovation radicale s'appuyant sur des méthodes collaboratives de conception innovante ;3/ un modèle générique de six grands types d'activités à piloter pour intégrer des capacités d'innovation radicale dans une entreprise établie, et organiser les organisations orientées conception / The purpose of the thesis is to study the implementation of radical innovation capabilities within established firms. The work is based on the longitudinal in-depth study of the innovative design processes of an aircraft manufacturer: Turbomeca. While previous research works have recognized that preparing for the future requires distinctive capabilities for radical innovation, the processes of integration of these capabilities still lacks an empirically grounded understanding. Building on recent research works on the management of innovative design processes, our study aims at modeling the innovative design activities that have to be organized to integrate radical innovation capabilities within established firms. Three research questions are investigated: how can radical innovation situations be characterized? How organizational transitions can be managed to integrate radical innovation capabilities? What are the organizational settings that may sustain these radical innovation capabilities over time? Drawing on an analytical framework to study radical innovation capabilities that relates Design (D), Incubation (I) and Mutation (M) of the ecosystem, three main results are presented:1/ the genealogy of Turbomeca design capabilities;2/ the concept of design organizational transition to characterize the integration process of radical innovation capabilities based on collaborative innovative design methods;3/ a generic model of six types of activities to operationalize radical innovation capabilities within established firms and organize design-oriented organizations (D2O).

Nîmâ Youchîdj, père de la poésie nouvelle en Iran, bénéficie d’apports culturels multiples dans le domaine de lalittérature persane et mondiale. Parmi les facteurs fondamentaux dans la réussite de ce poète novateur, la connaissancede la langue et de la littérature française apparaissent primordiales. C’est à l’école Saint-Louis que le poète s’initie à lalangue française, et que naît alors une véritable passion pour la littérature française, ses écrits en sont un témoignagefidèle. La maîtrise de cette langue lui ouvre de nouvelles perspectives littéraires. Il fréquente avec assiduité les ouvragespoétiques du XIXe siècle.Aussi le présent travail analyse l’influence d’Arthur Rimbaud, figure phare de la poésie française, sur la théorie et lapoésie de ce poète iranien. La méthodologie de base de cette thèse est puisée dans les théories de Carl Gustave Jung etde Gaston Bachelard. Afin de présenter l’importance de Nîmâ Youchîdj dans la révolution littéraire, cette étude traitedes différents styles et mouvements littéraires en Iran et du rôle de quelques poètes novateurs dans la modernisation dela poésie persane. La fréquence des éléments fondamentaux communs entre la poésie de ces deux poètes, la nature, lesconnotations symboliques et politiques et en particulier la notion de la poésie « objective » constituent le corps de cetteétude comparatiste. Celle-ci montre comment et dans quelle mesure le poète persan s’inspire des écrits d’ArthurRimbaud, précurseur de la poésie objective française pour fonder son manifeste et rompre avec la poésie classique, afinde fonder la « poésie libre » en Iran. / Youchîdj Nima, father of the new poetry in Iran, benefits from multiple cultural contributions in the field of Persian andworld literature. Among the fundamental factors in the success of this innovative poet, knowledge of the Frenchlanguage and literature seems to be of paramount importance. The poet started learning French language at the St. Louisschool where his passion for French literature is born; his writings are a true testimony to it. His command of Frenchopened up new literary perspectives for him. He studied diligently the poetic works of the 19th century.Moreover the present work analyses the influence of iconic French poet Arthur Rimbaud on the theory and poetry ofYouchîdj. The basic methodology of this thesis is drawn from the theories of Gustave Carl Jung and Gaston Bachelard.In order to present the importance of Nima Youchîdj in the literary revolution, this study deals with different styles andliterary movements in Iran and the role of several innovative poets in modernizing the Persian poetry. The frequency ofcommon fundamental elements between the poetry of these two poets forms the body of this comparative study whichincludes: nature, symbolic and political connotations, and especially the notion of the “objective” poetry. It shows howand to what extent the Persian poet was inspired to begin free poetry in Iran, following the writings of Arthur Rimbaud,the French pioneer of objective poetry who created his manifesto and broke away from classical poetry.

Improving reading literacy : the role of school-based educator professional development

The focus of this research is on the professional development of educators responsible for teaching reading literacy to learners. This focus forms the core of this case study. Case studies investigate cause and effect and one of their strengths is the acknowledgement that context is a powerful determinant of both cause and effect. A qualitative research approach is used to collect data by means of semi-structured interviews, observation and questionnaires at three primary schools. This study is aimed at exploring whether educators gained and applied the knowledge and skills from departmental workshops and other professional development intervention to the facilitation of reading literacy. The study investigated and interpreted the participants’ perspectives in order to gain insight and understanding into the professional learning experiences of educators. Proficiency in reading literacy gives learners access to information, broadens their general knowledge, increases their vocabulary and develops their language skills. The improvement of reading literacy commences at the primary level because learners at this stage develop and acquire fundamental attitudes and approaches to learning. Data was collected by means of interviews, observation of lessons and questionnaires on the teaching of reading literacy. Findings indicate that, although the focus of teaching and learning is on the learner, the strategies and criteria are determined by the educator. This could have a negative impact on learners’ acquisition of knowledge and educators’ ability to improve learners’ reading literacy levels. This dissertation recommends that the whole brain learning and reading model, which represents an integration of the literature study, my practical experience and the findings of my empirical study with inputs from principals and educators, should be used as basis for the transformation of reading literacy facilitation in South African schools. / Dissertation (MEd)--University of Pretoria, 2013. / gm2013 / Humanities Education / unrestricted

Evolving music education in the digital age : sound-based music in public schools of Cyprus

Years now, sound-based music has been struggling to reach a wider public. Research supports that in order to promote sound-based music, it should be introduced at an early age in someone’s life to have the opportunity to familiarise himself/herself with it and accept it (Kopiez and Lehmann, 2008). This thesis investigates the implementation of sound-based music in public schools in Cyprus. Building on previous research aiming to introduce sound-based music ideas and concepts into the music classrooms (Savage, 2005; Higgins and Jennings, 2006; Wolf, 2008; Holland, 2011), this research aims at creating a sound-based music curriculum that will be appropriate for the implementation in such a teaching-learning environment in Cyprus. The research focuses on the Educational Reform Programme of Cyprus (2008-2015), which aims at modernising the Cypriot education system. This project offers the opportunity to investigate a set of sound-based music lesson plans, implemented in music classrooms. The research examines the reactions of teachers and students towards these lessons, and the evaluation of the lesson plans in order to be suitable for primary and secondary schools of Cyprus. It is an interdisciplinary project, allowing for educational as well as musical concepts to inform its content and structure. The research follows a grounded theory methodology, utilising a mixed-methods approach involving multi-site case studies and action research. In total of six schools, with six teachers and 117 students, eight different sound-based music lesson plans were created, implemented and evaluated, in a total of 18 lesson periods. During these lessons, a combination of questionnaires, interviews, observations, visual data and tests have facilitated the collection of both qualitative and quantitative information relating to the teachers, the students and the lesson plans. Findings of this research identify that the specific set of lesson plans implemented in the schools is considered as appropriate to be used in the music classrooms of Cyprus. The sound-based music lessons introduced new ways of using ICT in the music classroom, supporting the national initiatives of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus. It was also identified that these lessons offer an inclusive education, with creative activities, engaging students with the learning experience. However, the outcomes of the research recognised the need to understand the multidimensional change necessary to take place before such an implementation, such as the need to resolve any teachers’ concerns relating to the implementation of innovative material as well as any issues related to the equipment.

A decision support framework for selecting innovative sustainable technologies for delivering low carbon retail buildings

There is an urgent need to adopt innovative sustainable technologies (ISTs) to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions whilst improving process efficiency of existing retail buildings, due to rising energy prices and the impacts of retail buildings on the environment. Despite their reported advantages, exhibited performance and numerous policies and legislations that encourage their adoption, there is a slow uptake of ISTs in the retail sector. This is due to the fact that the majority of stakeholders consider the task of selecting ISTs as a complex multi-attribute, multi-valued problem involving a large number of stakeholders with numerous, often conflicting objectives. To overcome this problem, the thesis develops a Decision Support Framework to assist stakeholders in the selection of ISTs for delivering low carbon retail buildings. Firstly focusing on the wider retail construction industry, followed by an in-depth case study of a leading UK retail contractor, the drivers and barriers faced by stakeholders in the retail construction industry during the selection of ISTs were identified. The underlying cause to the slow uptake of ISTs (complex decision-making problem) and the need to optimise the use of ISTs were investigated. The results identified the lack of a Decision Support Framework for the selection of ISTs for stakeholders in the retail construction industry. To address the problem, the research developed a Decision Support Framework to assist stakeholders in the complex decision-making task of selecting ISTs. The developed Decision Support Framework was first validated with a leading UK retail contractor and proved favourable; facilitating the decision-makers in the selection process and resulting in the successful selection of eight ISTs. A more general validation was conducted to ensure the Decision Support Framework was applicable to the wider construction industry. The results indicated that the framework was an effective mechanism to optimise the selection of ISTs by improving the decision-making process; it could be used by other stakeholders and also transferable to other building types for selecting ISTs. The thesis contributes to the knowledge related to decision-making and construction management research by developing a Decision Support Framework to assist stakeholders in the selection of ISTs to deliver low carbon retail buildings. In addition, it identifies the drivers for and barriers to selecting ISTs for existing retail buildings; key stakeholders in the selection of ISTs, a set of selection criteria used by clients/developers and designers/constructors and a database of ISTs that can be implemented by stakeholders to achieve low carbon retail buildings.
